- Chapter 41.2 - Melancholy in the Heavenly Realm ①
“Ahhh, I’m so bored.”
The heavens were serene and clear.
In a certain god’s temple within them.
A stunningly beautiful goddess, about five meters tall.
She leaned on her elbows and let out a sigh.
“What’s wrong? Are you tired from being too busy with that mountain of paperwork, Lady Aphrodite?”
Beside her, Cupid fluttered around like a fly, chiding her.
“No, it’s just pure boredom. I haven’t even heard from that girl lately~”
“Boredom? That girl?”
At Cupid’s question, Aphrodite answered with a sharp look.
“Miharu-chan. The one I sent you to see the other day.”
“Ah, yes! That girl.”
“Exactly. I went out of my way to take an interest in her.”
Aphrodite complained with a dissatisfied expression.
To such a goddess, Cupid offered some advice.
“But Lady Aphrodite, isn’t that a good thing?”
“Huh?”
“You see, she’s having various experiences and steadily heading toward happiness. You could even say it’s thanks to you, Lady Aphrodite.”
“R-really?”
“Absolutely! As expected of Lady Aphrodite!”
Aphrodite broke into a beaming smile.
Perhaps reassured by her expression, Cupid tried to persuade her into action.
“More importantly, Lady Aphrodite, please think about the other humans. Let’s start organizing this mountain of paperwork. If you put your mind to it, this’ll be done in no time~”
As he said this and looked at Aphrodite, Cupid noticed she was lost in her own fantasies.
“This is hopeless…”
Cupid slumped dejectedly, but suddenly remembered something and straightened his back.
“Lady Aphrodite!”
“What is it? No need to shout so loud, I can hear you.”
To her annoyed expression, Cupid replied with a cheerful grin.
“I just had a great idea. Will you hear me out?”
“Sure, why not? I’ve got nothing better to do anyway.”
Though bothered by her last remark, Cupid perched by Aphrodite’s ear.
“Well, you see…”
As he whispered his idea, Aphrodite’s expression brightened.
“So, what do you think?”
“That’s a wonderful idea. You’re a genius.”
“Heheh!”
Cupid struck a proud pose.
“Get started right away. I’ll be waiting for good news.”
“Roger that! Then I’ll get right to it…”
With those words, Cupid vanished from the spot in a flash.
Left alone, the beautiful goddess gave a slight tremble of her wings.
“Fufufu. I’m looking forward to it. Wait for me, Miharu.”
—With that whispered smile, the goddess leaned back in her chair and stood still, feeling the gentle breeze.
