- I Transmigrated into a Scummy Alpha and Stole the Heroine from Her Tragic Romance
- Chapter 72 ( END OF MAIN STORY )
Yu Shang eventually confessed everything he knew.
He had thought about it for a long time and finally realized that Yu Peirong was right. There was no point in hiding anything anymore. She had already submitted a real-name report against those people and had placed herself in the center of the storm. The two of them were like two tigers forced into the same forest. They were destined to fight.
As for who would ultimately win this battle, he was actually more inclined to believe it would be Yu Peirong.
The things Lu Zhiyao had done could not be hidden forever. The truth would eventually come to light.
Rather than taking this secret to the grave and protecting someone who would never return the favor, he figured it was better to drag someone else down with him before he completely lost everything. That way, he might at least seem a little nobler.
Most importantly, Yu Peirong’s power had already reached a level he could no longer touch. Even if he waited and watched, the result would still be defeat. He had already lost this fight completely.
But if not for Lu Zhiyao, he would not have been so easily thrown into prison.
When Lu Zhiyao found out she had been betrayed by Yu Shang, she was surprisingly calm. When the officers arrived to arrest her, they found her lounging on the sofa with her legs crossed, lighting a slim cigarette.
The sweet and crisp scent of yogurt-flavored capsules spread through the air. Unlike harsh tobacco, this one had a delicate and slightly sweet aroma, with a hint of smoky sharpness.
When she entered prison, Lu Zhiyao had secretly hidden a printed photo in her luggage. The guard discovered it but did not force her to surrender it.
She had spent all her remaining money pulling strings and bribing officials. At the same time, she calmly confessed everything she knew about her father’s crimes.
Lu Xuang, her father, was furious beyond words. Unlike Lu Zhiyao, he was not someone easy to restrain. He was not ready to give up on life. Naturally, all he could think about now was escape.
However, the task of capturing Lu Xuang was no longer Yu Peirong’s concern.
A few days earlier, Yu Peirong and Qi Xiyao had found time in their schedules to visit the civil affairs bureau and collect their marriage certificate. The wedding was planned before Qi Xiyao would get too busy with filming.
Recently, Qi Xiyao had gone to the hospital and confirmed she was pregnant. The chances of pregnancy were high when an Alpha and Omega bonded during a special period. She was a little surprised that the baby had come at this time, but she did not see it as a problem.
Her career was on the rise, but that did not mean pregnancy would stop her progress.
Her upbringing had already taught her she would not become the kind of woman who gave up everything to stay at home and revolve her life around her children.
Yu Peirong understood and fully supported her decision.
Qi Xiyao was not like most Omegas. Her body was stronger, so she would not need to be on bed rest throughout the pregnancy. As long as her filming schedule was not too intense, with no action scenes or all-night shoots, she should be fine.
Yu Peirong, of course, worried about her wife. She had wanted her to delay or even withdraw from this project entirely, but Qi Xiyao liked the script too much and wanted to see how she would feel during the coming weeks before deciding anything.
This particular role was gentle and did not require any major physical strain, so it was still manageable.
Because mid-year events were approaching, many people they knew were busy. The next time they would meet with Gu Jin Hua was at the mid-year awards ceremony.
This award marked Qi Xiyao’s first significant appearance in a supporting role in the film Twins.
When she first accepted the role, her relationship with Yu Peirong had still been in an awkward and tense phase.
In truth, the script was quite good. The role Yu Peirong had helped secure for her was a perfect fit. The only downside was that the director was Quan Zhihong, and back then she had deeply suspected that Yu Peirong had ulterior motives.
But thinking back, not many people in the industry knew about Quan Zhihong’s true character. Just like Lu Zhiyao, he was good at putting on a mask for the public.
She had only heard vague rumors about his strange tendencies because of her dealings with Yu Shang. At the time, she thought he was just another shady director who liked to take advantage of newcomers. But now it was clear that Quan Zhihong, with his unusual pheromones, probably had the same desire to undergo gender transformation.
Backstage at the awards, Qi Xiyao saw Quan Zhihong again.
The man who had once tried to assert dominance in front of her now avoided her like a mouse avoiding a cat. Just thinking about how Yu Peirong had crushed him that day still made his chest feel heavy, as if filled with damp cotton, hard to breathe through.
An Alpha who had never been suppressed by the pheromones of the same sex would never understand that kind of sensation. It was as if every nerve in the body was burning with pressure, yet there was no way to fight back.
When Quan Zhihong saw Qi Xiyao, he gave her an awkward nod, then quickly turned around and walked away, not daring to say a word.
Qi Xiyao did not care. She gave a soft laugh and went backstage to change.
It was the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the wind carried a noticeable chill. Still, attendees dressed to impress. Nearly every actress wore a backless dress to show off her figure.
Even though the venue had air conditioning, the awards stage was outdoors, so it was still quite cold outside.
Following Zheng Xiu Xue’s advice, Qi Xiyao dressed more appropriately for the weather. She wore long sleeves and a fringed vest that highlighted her slim waist. Her skirt flowed gracefully, and her five-centimeter block heels made her stand out among the crowd of stars.
Even though her outfit seemed out of place among the others, she did not lose out in terms of beauty, elegance, or presence. In fact, her uniqueness made her even more striking.
Her makeup artist had chosen a softer, more natural look for the evening. She did not wear the usual heavy red lips. Instead of drawing exaggerated under-eye shadows, the focus was on her long lashes and natural eye shape.
Her lashes were already thick and long, and the added accents made them appear even more flawless. They curled gently, and the faint touch of white along the tips looked like delicate butterflies resting on her lashes. The subtle shimmer at the corners of her eyes made the look even more elegant and captivating.
Qi Xiyao felt a little nervous before stepping onto the stage. Yu Peirong gently hugged her from behind and whispered,
“I’ll be watching you from below. I cannot be too close, but you know I’m here.”
As the audience began entering the hall on time, the wind grew stronger. Qi Xiyao glanced around at the other actresses, who were all smiling through shivers, and silently felt thankful that she had dressed warmly.
After the host finished the formal opening remarks, the event moved on to the film segment.
The mid-year awards were not the most prestigious, but winning still meant recognition within the industry. While these awards were not as important as the top three national prizes, they did not dampen anyone’s enthusiasm.
When the title Twins appeared on the big screen, Qi Xiyao held her breath.
The host clearly wanted to build suspense. After a dramatic pause, he finally announced the nominees for Best Leading Actress in a Mid-Year Film.
“The nominees are Chen Shuhua, Lu Zuo, An Xiaomachi, and Yi Ting.”
An Xiaomachi was sitting right next to Qi Xiyao. She was dressed beautifully tonight. Her once-youthful face now appeared more mature and composed. But in this tense moment, she could not help gripping the edge of her seat, breathing fast, her eyes fixed on the screen.
“Let us congratulate An Xiaomachi.”
When the host announced her name, An Xiaomachi looked stunned, as if she could not believe it. Tears quickly welled up in her eyes.
She knew she was still a newcomer. Competing with veteran actresses in the year-end awards was already a long shot. Twins was the most suitable script she had received so far, and to win something at the mid-year ceremony was already a huge and unexpected surprise.
She quickly wiped away her tears and walked up to the stage. The person presenting her award was a senior figure from the business world. An Xiaomachi bowed politely and respectfully. After giving a heartfelt acceptance speech, she stepped off the stage, holding the award tightly and waving excitedly to her manager.
This time, the host did not pause. Instead, he looked out at the audience with a warm smile in his eyes.
“As everyone knows, Twins earned impressive box office numbers when it was released early this year. It was one of the surprise hits of the season, and it continued to perform well long after its release, even earning extended showings in several major cities.”
“The vivid characters in this film were not limited to the leads. Several bright and charming supporting roles added incredible color and depth to the movie. Each supporting character played a vital role. Let us congratulate Qi Xiyao, the winner of this year’s Best Supporting Actress award.”
Qi Xiyao felt her heart skip a beat.
A moment ago, she had been quietly laughing at An Xiaomachi for being too emotional. Now, hearing her own name called, she found herself equally stunned. Her heart was pounding, and tears began to rise in her eyes.
She blinked quickly and brushed the moisture away. Compared to An Xiaomachi’s overwhelmed reaction, she recovered slightly faster. She lifted her skirt gently and walked toward the stage with grace.
This time, the award presenter was Yao Lu. As she handed the heavy trophy to Qi Xiyao, Yao Lu gave her a playful smile and hinted for her to take a closer look.
It was a custom-made trophy. Along the edge, tiny letters were engraved with the titles of every production Qi Xiyao had ever taken part in. Whether big or small, every role was included with the character’s name. At the very bottom of the trophy was a signature, personally engraved by Yu Peirong.
Scenes from the past rushed through Qi Xiyao’s mind. All of them melted into a wave of warmth that rose quietly in her chest.
She looked up and smiled brightly. In the flash of the camera lights, her eyes locked onto someone in the crowd with precision. Her gaze softened with overwhelming tenderness.
“Yu Peirong,” she said gently, her voice calm and clear. “I hope that the next time I stand on a stage like this, I’ll be beside you not only as an actress, but as your wife.”
You discovered me, and I ran a thousand miles for you.

In that story, Song Qingtan and her first love Jiang Zhi You get into a car accident and end up inside a novel, becoming its villains. She soon learns that Jiang Zhi You’s true soulmate isn’t her, but Cen Yuexin, a fellow contestant on the same talent show.
On camera, Song Qingtan and Cen Yuexin are forced to play a couple. Off camera, Song Qingtan tries her best to make Cen Yuexin miserable.
In the practice room, she hides Cen Yuexin’s water. But Cen Yuexin only bats her damp eyes and asks to borrow her cup, leaving behind a suggestive red lipstick stain.
During a commercial appearance, Cen Yuexin draws a heart on her collarbone using makeup, her fingers soft and teasing. Then she smiles and apologizes.
“Your collarbone is too pretty. I couldn’t help myself. Sorry.”
At first, Song Qingtan was annoyed by her behavior. But over time, she grew used to Cen Yuexin’s subtle provocations and flirtations.
She thought they were just acting for the cameras, working together out of mutual interest, and that they would part ways once the contract ended. But one day, she saw Cen Yuexin laughing and chatting with her ex and was hit by a wave of jealousy she could not control.
That was when she realized Cen Yuexin had already taken up a place in her heart.
The little spark that had been quietly burning eventually became a wildfire.
Song Qingtan had once bought Jiang Zhi You breakfast for three straight years, stood in the rain holding an umbrella for her, and even stayed behind like a fool while Jiang studied abroad. They dated for half a year before Jiang abruptly ended it, choosing to chase after the one she could never reach.
Later, Jiang Zhi You came to her senses and returned, planning to surprise Song Qingtan and win her back.
But by then, it was too late.
“What happened to my second-chance love story? Why is my girlfriend with her rival now?”
That night, when Song Qingtan went to meet her ex, she spotted a familiar figure waiting at the café.
It was the delicate girl from her group, the one who usually needed help just to open a bottle. But this time, she punched the ex right in the face. Then she turned to Song Qingtan with wide, teary eyes and threw herself into her arms.
“I’m sorry. I was just jealous. I wanted you to spend your time and energy on me. Just a little bit.”
The next morning, when Song Qingtan woke up and saw the sleeping girl beside her, she stared for a long moment in silence.
“…Well. That was a lot more than a little.”
