I Transmigrated Into A Fanfiction And Got Pregnant With The Movie Star's Child - Chapter 1
-Transmigration in a dual book, first loves, HE-
During the midsummer season, the sunset near dusk was still blazing and intense.
In the corridor outside the lounge, Ji Xing lingered for a long time, unaware that one of his ears had been sunburned to a faint red. His fingers lightly twitched at the hem of his T-shirt, his pretty eyes tinged with a faint redness from nervousness, and his breathing slightly hurried.
After a long while, he walked over to the doorway and stood still, raising his hand as if having made up some sort of mind, intending to knock. However, the moment his fingers were about to touch the wooden door panel, a commotion suddenly sounded from inside.
Hearing the noise, Ji Xing spun around and hurried off like a startled little animal. Anyone watching would have thought there was some ferocious beast locked inside the room, ready to burst out and devour him at any second.
Of course, there were no ferocious beasts in the lounge; what was inside was He Chenchen.
He Chenchen, the reigning movie emperor, notorious in the industry for being strict and having a terrible temper.
A month ago, another artist from Ji Xing’s company was fired by the crew for acting like a spoiled diva. Operating on the principle that keeping benefits within the family was best, the company recommended Ji Xing to the crew instead. This was not because his acting skills were exceptional, nor because his commercial value was high, but purely because his temper was soft.
“At least Ji Xing won’t piss off the movie emperor!” Those were the manager’s exact words when recommending him.
Ji Xing truly would not piss off the movie emperor, because he was terrified of the man, starting from the very first day he joined the cast. It wasn’t because the movie emperor made things difficult for him; in fact, they barely spoke to each other under normal circumstances. It was simply because the movie emperor’s aura was too overwhelming.
To what extent was he afraid of He Chenchen? Today was his final day of filming, and his manager had instructed him to go find He Chenchen for a private farewell, preferably adding him on WeChat to stay in touch. Yet Ji Xing had hovered outside He Chenchen’s lounge for ages and ultimately lost his nerve.
Forget it, Ji Xing comforted himself as he walked away.
When wrapping up his final scene for the day, he had already expressed his gratitude to He Chenchen, and the man had replied with a “happy wrap day,” which was already more than enough for their relationship.
His manager’s urging for him to go say a separate goodbye was actually a bid to cozy up to the star. But he felt that the movie emperor was not someone who enjoyed socializing, and making a rash attempt to suck up might produce the exact opposite effect.
Thinking along these lines, he completely convinced himself.
Although Ji Xing’s scenes had wrapped, the crew’s filming was still ongoing, so a special wrap banquet wouldn’t be thrown exclusively for him. That suited him just fine, sparing him all kinds of social obligations later. Ji Xing had a soft and accommodating personality; when people told him to drink, he wouldn’t refuse, and every time he encountered a crowded setting, he would end up dead drunk.
Like today, wrapping up early all by himself was the absolute best outcome.
After dinner, Ji Xing packed his luggage ahead of time and went to take a shower. The production team had booked a flight for early tomorrow morning for him and his assistant, Xiao Lin, and he planned to turn in early tonight so he wouldn’t struggle to wake up.
To his surprise, just as he finished showering and before he even had time to put on clothes, a knock sounded at the door.
Thinking the person knocking was his assistant Xiao Lin, Ji Xing opened the door wrapped in just a single bath towel. The moment he caught sight of the tall figure standing in the doorway, he froze instantly.
“He, Teacher He?”
The person standing there was none other than He Chenchen. The man had presumably just returned from the set, still wearing the black shirt from his costume. The texture of the fabric was ironed to perfection, wrapping tightly around the man’s lean and powerful frame, making him look even more stern and chilling than usual.
“You…”
He Chenchen’s gaze swept over Ji Xing’s body.
Ji Xing had just stepped out of the bathroom, his cheeks and the corners of his eyes flushed pink from the steam, making him look as though he had just been crying. Droplets of water slipped from his damp short hair, tracing all the way down his collarbone and leaving a faint, translucent trail of water across the young man’s fair skin.
“Put on some clothes first,” He Chenchen said.
“Oh.” Ji Xing turned back into the room to pull on a pair of pajamas, his attitude thoroughly docile.
Meanwhile, He Chenchen patiently waited by the doorway without stepping a foot inside.
“I heard you came to the lounge looking for me. Why didn’t you go in?” He Chenchen’s tone was flat, but the question made panic rise on Ji Xing’s face.
“I…” Ji Xing’s fingers started nervously rubbing at the hem of his clothes again. “I was afraid of disturbing your rest.”
“Were you afraid of disturbing my rest, or were you afraid of me?”
“I… I’m not afraid of you.” Feeling guilty, Ji Xing’s voice became pitifully quiet.
Ji Xing’s looks could not be considered the most exquisite kind, but his advantage lay in his clean aura, especially those eyes, which looked like freshly watered glass beads. Perhaps because his eyes were large and clear, every time he grew nervous, he looked like he was about to cry, appearing exceptionally innocent.
“Get some rest early. A wrap gift.” He Chenchen shoved a small square box he had been holding into Ji Xing’s hands and turned away. Ji Xing stood in a daze for a moment, only remembering to thank the man’s retreating figure when He Chenchen was almost at the elevator alcove.
Back in his room, he opened the small square box and saw a ginkgo leaf-shaped brooch inside. He recognized the brand; it was an accessory under a high-end luxury label that He Chenchen endorsed, and it carried a hefty price tag.
Ji Xing put the brooch away and wanted to express his gratitude once more, only to remember that after shooting together in the same cast for a month, they hadn’t even added each other on WeChat.
That night, he suffered a mild bout of insomnia. Lying in bed half-asleep for half an hour without an ounce of drowsiness, he simply clicked on his bedside lamp and started browsing his phone.
He didn’t have many fans, and there weren’t many comments on his Weibo posts. During his time on set, he hadn’t updated much, so the new notifications were even scarcer, allowing him to scroll to the very top in just a few swipes. Interspersed in the comments were a few mentions of He Chenchen, asking what it felt like to collaborate with the movie emperor and whether the man was really as serious as rumors claimed.
Ji Xing thought about it, finding himself temporarily at a loss for how to reply.
He felt that He Chenchen matched outside rumors quite well: cold, stern, and extremely earnest when it came to acting, carrying a heavy sense of oppression on set. But upon closer reflection, having spent a month together, He Chenchen had actually been quite patient, never pulling a dark face or scolding him once.
There had been a scene Ji Xing struggled to pull off, and He Chenchen had run through it with him several times, showing no impatience from start to finish.
Despite all that, he was still terrified of He Chenchen.
This was probably akin to the bloodline suppression between animals; He Chenchen exerted a certain kind of bloodline suppression over Ji Xing.
Ji Xing did not reply to the comments. He knew the hidden rules of the industry; if he mentioned He Chenchen on his own Weibo, people would accuse him of riding coattails for clout, especially since he was truly too obscure.
Just as he was about to close Weibo, he accidentally scrolled across a piece of fan fiction titled The Tyrannical Love of the Mad Movie Emperor. Because he caught his own name and He Chenchen’s name listed in the tags, Ji Xing clicked on the story out of sheer curiosity.
Yet within less than five minutes, he deeply regretted it.
In this fan fiction, Ji Xing and He Chenchen jointly participated in a reality variety show called Actor Training Camp. One day, the two of them unexpectedly engaged in unspeakable acts. Afterward, the movie emperor treated Ji Xing with exceptional care, but that care quickly soured into something distorted.
According to the setup, He Chenchen was a terrifying madman in the story, while Ji Xing was the target of his tyrannical love. As for just how tyrannical that love was in the middle, Ji Xing was too embarrassed to examine the details closely and skipped through most of it.
He simply could not imagine the usually stern and unsmiling He Chenchen being portrayed by fans as such a perverted character, nor could he imagine what it would look like to be handled by the man day and night like that! The book even wrote that He Chenchen loved watching Ji Xing cry the most, and the harder Ji Xing cried, the more excited the man became…
What kind of utter nonsense was this? It was simply too painful to look at!
Ji Xing had already been struggling with insomnia, and reading that piece of fiction made it even harder to fall asleep.
Those scenes kept popping up uncontrollably in his mind. The moment he closed his eyes, it felt as though he could hear He Chenchen asking him in that low, perverted tone right beside his ear: “Are you really this afraid of me?”
Tossing and turning for the better part of the night, Ji Xing finally drifted into a hazy sleep.
Perhaps it was a case of dreaming about what weighed on his mind during the day, or perhaps wrapping up filming had finally allowed him to completely relax. After falling asleep that night, Ji Xing had a dream related to spring. In the dream, that person possessed a lean, tall, and powerful physique, carrying a pleasant, faint woody fragrance.
Ji Xing was an adult and carried no psychological burden regarding having dreams of this nature. He had read popular science articles and knew that most healthy people experienced such dreams, and the people appearing in them usually held no special significance, sometimes appearing as nothing more than a blurred silhouette.
This time, however, things were a bit different. Ji Xing clearly saw the man’s appearance.
The man had sharp brows and striking features, a cold and stern temperament, and eyes full of aggression. Staring at someone the way he did felt like looking at a locked-on prey, inspiring enough dread to make a person want to surrender all resistance.
Looking at He Chenchen, who was close enough to touch, Ji Xing’s face flushed a deep red, and his breathing gradually fell out of rhythm. The contrast and sheer stimulation of having the person he feared most in real life appear in such a dream could well be imagined. Thus, Ji Xing offered no resistance, slowly yielding to instinct as he wrapped his arms around the man’s neck…
Except…
Why did this dream feel a bit too realistic?
Why could he still feel pain even within a dream?
