I Transmigrated and Already Had a Wife - Chapter 71
“My dear husband, I’m finished eating.” Lin Muwan put down her chopsticks and took out a silk handkerchief from her sleeve pocket to wipe the corner of her mouth.
Jiang Zhou also put down her chopsticks and looked at her.
“Aren’t you going to eat anymore, dear husband?” Lin Muwan lifted her eyes and asked.
“Mhm, I’m finished.”
Lin Muwan smiled brightly. “Let’s go. Come with me to pack a few things.”
“Huh?” Jiang Zhou looked at her blankly and blinked. Was it what she thought? She couldn’t help but blurt out, “Pack what?”
The curve of Lin Muwan’s lips widened. “Silly girl, of course, we’re packing up to return to our home.”
“What?!” Jiang Zhou’s eyes instantly widened. Her heart pounded erratically, losing its rhythm. Her fingers, in her excitement, opened and closed. She asked uncertainly, “Wife, are you saying we’re going back to our home?”
“Mhm, back to our home,” Lin Muwan nodded, smiling as she answered her.
Then what are we waiting for?
Jiang Zhou understood now. She suddenly stood up and took Lin Muwan’s hand. “I’ll go pack with you, my wife.”
Lin Muwan looked at her eager expression and chuckled, letting herself be pulled along. In fact, she didn’t have much to pack. She only packed a few items related to Jiang Zhou; she was basically leaving as she came.
Before leaving the residence of the Minister of Personnel, Xiao Ju cried, begging to go with them, but Lin Muwan refused. They wouldn’t be staying in the capital for long and would soon leave. Xiao Ju’s family was all in the capital, so why take her and separate her from her family?
Leaving the Minister of Personnel’s residence, Lin Muwan felt a sense of unreality, as if a long time had passed. Although this was where she had lived for almost twenty years, the sense of belonging was not as strong as the one she felt by this person’s side.
“Wife, we’re home. Mother and the others have been missing you for a long time. During the days you were away, they’ve been busy preparing many things for you and the baby. They’ve even hired a midwife.” Jiang Zhou babbled, one hand gently stroking Lin Muwan’s side waist.
Lin Muwan’s face flushed slightly with shyness. She gave her a side-eye. “Didn’t you say Mother was waiting? Why aren’t you getting out of the carriage?”
“Mhm,” Jiang Zhou answered. The carriage had already stopped steadily, and the coachman brought over the mounting block.
“Young Master, Madam, we have arrived,” the coachman’s voice came through.
Jiang Zhou: “?!”
Her movement of leaning in paused, and she closed her eyes.
The coachman has no common sense.
Lin Muwan was afraid she would do something embarrassing before getting out and that her mother-in-law might notice later. She quickly said, “I’m a bit tired. Let’s talk about everything later when we’re inside.”
Jiang Zhou was both amused and helpless. Having already leaned out halfway, there was no reason to retreat. She leaned over and pecked Lin Muwan’s cheek twice before reluctantly drawing back. She lifted the curtain and glanced at the coachman, thinking helplessly: ‘The servants at home truly have no common sense. I’ll replace all of them sooner or later.’
She jumped out of the carriage. Looking at the mounting block, she thought, Do they need this?
The coachman felt a chill from her gaze, bowed, and withdrew the mounting block.
Only then did Jiang Zhou say with satisfaction, “Wife, come out. I’ll help you down.”
“Mhm,” Lin Muwan replied, pursing her lips. With her delicate hand, she drew back the curtain. Seeing her standing there, eyes sparkling, she understood perfectly. This wasn’t the first time that person had done this kind of thing, yet she still couldn’t help but blush. Lowering her gaze, she placed her fair, delicate hand in Jiang Zhou’s. With a slight pull, she stepped out of the carriage compartment.
Jiang Zhou placed one hand on her back and threaded the other through the bend of her knees, lifting her sideways off the carriage. She set her down steadily on the ground. Before letting go, she intentionally or unintentionally brushed Lin Muwan’s waist, causing her body to tremble. Lin Muwan looked at her with a furious blush.
Jiang Zhou grinned and held her hand. “Wife, let’s go.”
When they arrived at the sitting room, Mother Jiang immediately rushed to greet them when she saw them return, practically beaming with joy. “Why didn’t you let us know you were coming back? I could have had people prepare things.”
“Mother,” Lin Muwan bowed slightly.
“You child, you don’t have to be so formal in our house. In the future, don’t bow when you see me. Come quickly and sit down. Your belly looks a little bigger than a few days ago. You’ll be giving birth in a few months, so you must rest well.”
Lin Muwan smiled and responded, “I know, Mother.”
Suddenly remembering something, Mother Jiang clapped her hands and said, “Look, I forgot! Pregnant women get hungry easily. There’s still some time until noon, so I’ll have the kitchen prepare some snacks and send them over right now.”
Mother Jiang raised her voice to give the instruction. She led Lin Muwan to a chair to sit down, and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law began chatting, with Jiang Zhou sitting beside them, listening.
A little later, the snacks arrived, plate after plate, filling the table. There were peach blossom cakes, soft glutinous osmanthus cakes, milky white little milk squares, and a few other items Jiang Zhou couldn’t name, which looked bright red and were likely made from flower petals.
Jiang Zhou picked up an osmanthus cake and held it to Lin Muwan’s lips, trying to please her. “Wife, try this one.”
Lin Muwan reached out to take it, but Jiang Zhou dodged her hand. “Don’t get your hands sticky. Eat it like this.”
Lin Muwan: “…”
Her mother-in-law was still sitting opposite them. Lin Muwan’s face flushed slightly. She glared at her, and in her heart, she couldn’t help but curse her as a libertine.
Seeing her look at the snack but hesitate to eat it, Jiang Zhou urged, “Wife, hurry up and try it.”
Lin Muwan pursed her lips. She looked up and saw her mother-in-law opposite her, also staring at her with anticipation.
Her heart was instantly filled with shame. Since her mother-in-law was watching, and she couldn’t let Jiang Zhou keep holding it up, she lowered her eyes and took a small bite from the piece in Jiang Zhou’s hand, meticulously chewing with her head bowed.
Jiang Zhou quickly offered water. “It’s a little dry. Drink some tea to wash it down.”
Lin Muwan: “……”
Before she could shake off her shyness, her cheeks were even redder now, and the tips of her ears slowly began to turn red.
Lin Muwan softly said, “Put it aside for now. I don’t feel like drinking water right now.”
Jiang Zhou put down the teacup upon hearing this and asked, “Wife, which one do you want to eat next? I’ll get it for you.”
Which one to eat?
Lin Muwan didn’t want to eat any of them now. She just wanted to quickly leave this utterly shameful place and this libertine who spoke nothing but scandalous words.
She pursed her lips. “I just finished breakfast, so I’m not too hungry yet. Dear husband, just leave it for now. I’ll eat later.”
Jiang Zhou put down the snack in her hand, feeling a little disappointed. Mother Jiang, who was sitting opposite and enjoying the show, was also disappointed.
Why stop eating now?
The three of them chatted for a while. A young maid walked in and reported, “Elder Madam, Madam Miao has returned.”
Mother Jiang’s eyes lit up when she heard Madam Miao was back. She paid no attention to the people around her, stood up, and laughed. “You two young ones keep chatting. I’m going out to see. I asked your Aunt Miao to go out and buy some things for me.”
With that, she waved at the two of them and left with a smile.
Buy things? She clearly just wanted to be intimate with Aunt Miao. Jiang Zhou pouted.
“Wife, the wind is strong outside. Let’s go inside the house, too.”
The wind is strong?
Lin Muwan frowned. The sky was cloudless, the sun was scorching, and the surrounding trees seemed still, not moving at all.
The wind is strong in this weather?
Lin Muwan’s expression was subtle. She closed her eyes and turned her face away, pretending not to have heard.
What could possibly happen by going back inside?
The sun was high and bright. She wasn’t going back, lest she grant the libertine her wish.
“Wife.”
Lin Muwan remained unmoved.
Jiang Zhou moved closer and sweetly asked, “Wife, can we go back to the room, please?”
There was a hint of pleading in her tone.
Lin Muwan’s breathing hitched. She pretended not to see her expectant eyes, shifting her gaze to the exquisite snacks. She casually picked up a piece and took a small bite.
Jiang Zhou said, “Is it tasty?”
Lin Muwan glanced at her, nodded, and gave a very fair assessment. “Soft, glutinous, sweet, and very delicious.”
Jiang Zhou’s cheek leaned closer to the hand holding the snack, her smile clearly showing her intent. “Is that so? I want to try some too.”
Sure enough, seeing her rogue-like behavior, Lin Muwan sighed. She glanced at the maids serving outside the sitting room. Seeing them all with their heads bowed, she shoved the rest of the snack in her hand into that offensive mouth.
It’s best to keep her mouth completely stuffed so she won’t talk anymore.
They stayed outside for almost the duration of one cup of tea. Lin Muwan truly couldn’t stand her lewd talk anymore. Having no other choice, she had to return to the room.
Jiang Zhou’s eyes were full of smiles. Pointing at the snacks on the table, she loudly instructed, “Take all these tea snacks into the room. At lunchtime, remember to prepare some light, refreshing side dishes. Since the weather is hot, also prepare some cooling soup.”
“Yes, your servant has noted everything.”
Jiang Zhou contemplated for a moment, just about to add something, when Lin Muwan had already gotten up and was walking toward the room.
Oh!
She quickly waved her hand behind her and hurried to catch up and grab her. Holding the soft, smooth jade in her palm and giving it a gentle squeeze, she smiled. “Wife, let’s go back together.”
Once they returned to the room, as expected, Lin Muwan’s foot had barely stepped inside when a ‘bang’ sound came from behind her ear. Before she could react, she had already been carried like a wolf’s prey onto the bed.
Following the noise, the accompanying maids looked at the tightly closed door, exchanged glances, and then blushed and lowered their heads. They had all witnessed firsthand how much the Young Master doted on the Madam.
Lin Muwan lay on the bed, her heart instantly racing. Her hands tightly gripped Jiang Zhou’s shoulders, her eyes shifting, her wing-like long lashes fluttering, showing nothing but delicate tenderness.
“Wife.”
“Mhm.”
“This is wonderful.”
“Mhm.”
As if still in a dream, the worries of the past few days instantly vanished without a trace. Jiang Zhou lowered her head and pressed down on that soft corner of her lips. She pecked her lightly and then pulled away, her eyes sparkling with laughter as she gazed down at her beloved.
The next moment, she lowered her head again, sucking and drawing on that soft area, slowly deepening the kiss.
After a long while, she lifted her head again. Both of their breathing was ragged, their bodies rising and falling, soft against soft, their eyes full of passion.
Jiang Zhou’s heart tightened, and her breathing deepened. Subconsciously, her fingers reached under her waist to lightly caress her. The person beneath her instantly tensed up. The hands gripping her shoulders suddenly tightened, trying to push her away, but in the end, they just held on tightly, as if trying to pull their two bodies even closer.
The hand that had moved under her waist shifted upwards, and every piece of skin beneath her palm was scorching hot as if burned, accompanied by waves of tingling.
Lin Muwan’s breathing was rapid, and her voice was laced with a sob. “Husband, no—”
The last word, ‘o,’ hadn’t been spoken before it was drowned in an ocean of passion.
After a long time, Jiang Zhou finally let go of her, her face filled with contentment. Although she still felt a little regretful for not going further, seeing the woman in her arms trembling, she rubbed her head lovingly, tucked the strands of hair scattered on her cheek behind her ear, embraced her again, kissed her somewhat swollen lips, and gently comforted the person in her arms.
The sudden downpour inside the room ceased, and a maid reported that someone had arrived outside. The visitor was none other than the current Minister of Revenue, Lin Shang.
Jiang Zhou was stunned upon hearing this, and subconsciously held Lin Muwan tighter.
Has he come to kill me?
How did he get here so fast?
Not seeing him was impossible. After composing herself, she climbed out of bed and gently said, “Wife, you rest for a while. I’ll be right back.”
Lin Muwan was completely drained of strength. She didn’t even have the energy to open her eyes. She was completely limp on the bed. She mumbled an answer and fell asleep.
Jiang Zhou looked at the woman on the bed, pursed her lips, and thought, Why isn’t she worried at all?
