I Snatched the Overbearing President’s Canary [Transmigration] - Chapter 45
Chapter 45: Too Much
He had endured for so long that it was as if he had finally found a vent; his kisses became somewhat reckless and desperate.
Shenyu was startled by his passion, even opening his eyes to steal a glance at him.
To his surprise, Ning Chen hadn’t closed his eyes at all. Their gazes locked, and Ning Chen imperiously reached out to cover He Shenyu’s eyes, refusing to let him look.
He wanted He Shenyu’s complete and utter immersion.
Before long, He Shenyu was kissed until his body went weak, sliding down the bathroom vanity. Had Ning Chen not been bracing his waist, he would have slipped right onto the floor.
Ning Chen gripped his waist and glanced down.
In the next instant, he simply reached out, tucked his arms under He Shenyu’s seat, and lifted him up bodily.
Ning Chen’s kiss never faltered. Shenyu didn’t even register the change in position; his brain had already turned to mush.
They left the bathroom, and Ning Chen, after a quick scan of the room, headed straight for the bed.
He laid He Shenyu down, their lips still joined, and pressed over him on his knees.
This seemed to flip a switch. Ning Chen began to lose control. His hands slid down from He Shenyu’s cheeks, past the neck, all the way to the waist, lingering along the curve of his side.
Shenyu kept his eyes obediently closed, seemingly lacking the energy to notice Ning Chen’s wandering hands.
Encouraged, Ning Chen grew bolder. His fingers lifted the hem of the pajama top, and his fingertips slipped inside.
It wasn’t until Ning Chen’s hand began to caress the front of his throat—a sensation so strange—that He Shenyu regained a shred of clarity. He pressed his hand over Ning Chen’s through the fabric to stop the mischief.
“Mnh… Ning…” Shenyu tried to speak, but his lips were blocked so tightly there wasn’t a gap to be found. He couldn’t form a single coherent sentence.
The moment he opened his mouth, his words were smothered by Ning Chen’s movements.
Shenyu had no choice but to push at Ning Chen’s shoulders, but Ning Chen was so deeply immersed that he didn’t even feel the weightless resistance.
Both of his hands were busy causing trouble, his lips were busy kissing, and his eyes were tightly shut.
Shenyu had no other choice but to accept it. Soon, he was once again kissed into breathlessness, his mind unable to think of anything else.
Sensing that He Shenyu was running out of air, Ning Chen finally broke the kiss.
All that practice with secret kisses had given him a sort of muscle memory. He trailed kisses along the cheek to the ear, taking that long-coveted red mole into his mouth to suckle. Finally, he whispered into He Shenyu’s ear like a sigh, “Wifey, I missed you so much…”
Shenyu was gasping for air, but when he heard those words, he froze completely. He looked at Ning Chen and asked, “Ning Chen… what… did you just… call me?”
Ning Chen’s wandering hands finally stilled. He opened his eyes and gazed at He Shenyu for a long time before saying, “I called you ‘Hubby’.”
“Really?” Shenyu was skeptical. Ning Chen was so close; he felt he couldn’t have misheard.
But Ning Chen had been so muddled and affectionate when he said it—just one character’s difference—that He Shenyu began to doubt his own memory…
“Mhm…” Ning Chen looked at him piteously, cupped his face, and kissed him again. A moment later, he said breathlessly, “Does Shenyu not like it? Then I won’t call you that anymore…”
Shenyu was still in a daze. He stared at Ning Chen with misty eyes, not quite processing what was being said. He simply reached down to catch Ning Chen’s hand, which was causing havoc at his waist: “Ning Chen, you can’t…”
If he didn’t stop him, those hands were going to slide all the way down past the groin. Shenyu was genuinely shocked; today’s Ning Chen had scared him a little…
“I’m sorry, Hubby, I was wrong.” Ning Chen simply took his hand and interlaced their fingers. He looked at He Shenyu with a pathetic expression. “Next time, I’ll ask for your permission first…”
Is that how this works?
Shenyu’s head wasn’t clear to begin with; he was being led in circles by this logic.
Ning Chen leaned in even closer until their noses touched. He asked again, “I won’t move around anymore, Shenyu. Can we keep kissing?”
Shenyu frowned and thought for a moment. He actually wanted Ning Chen to get up.
But seeing his hesitation, Ning Chen directly picked him up and rolled him over, flipping their positions.
Ning Chen looked up at him and said, “If Shenyu thinks I’m bad at kissing, then why don’t you do it yourself?”
Shenyu’s hands were forced onto Ning Chen’s face. The younger man tilted his head back, the intent to seduce blatant at such close range.
Seeing He Shenyu dazed, Ning Chen chuckled and flicked his tongue out to lick He Shenyu’s lower lip.
Shenyu had never encountered such a scene. With a face like Ning Chen’s, using it for this kind of thing was practically a superpower.
He swallowed hard, held Ning Chen’s face, and leaned down to kiss him.
The kiss led by He Shenyu wasn’t as fierce as the previous one. Ning Chen kept his word; his hands stayed properly on He Shenyu’s waist without wandering.
However, his eyes remained wide open, staring at He Shenyu with a gaze full of unfulfilled desire.
He was reaching his limit, but Shenyu was still so shy. He didn’t know what to do…
Why isn’t Shenyu showing any reaction?
He himself had reacted while the kissing was intense earlier, but even when he brushed his thigh against Shenyu’s, the other man remained calm.
Ning Chen felt a bit deflated. Was it possible Shenyu was as ignorant about these things as he used to be?
But that was nearly impossible. Shenyu was a doctor and always hung around that crowd; saying he didn’t understand was just self-deception.
Ning Chen sighed inwardly, almost making himself angry…
He lightly nipped He Shenyu’s tongue, his fingers tracing the small of the back before slipping under the hem again.
“Mnh…” Shenyu grew tired from the kissing and pulled away.
The Ning Chen beneath him had been kissed until his lips were bright red—strikingly handsome. Shenyu reached out to stroke the flesh of those lips before rolling off to sit up.
Ning Chen sat up with him, huddling close to his side.
Shenyu looked at him and said, “Ning Chen, it’s time to eat. No more kissing.”
“Okay,” Ning Chen nodded.
Shenyu looked down at himself. Two buttons at the bottom of his pajama top had been undone. He paused, images of the “excessive” scene just now flashing through his mind. Suddenly, something felt off.
How is Ning Chen… why does he seem a bit wrong?
As He Shenyu looked down to do up his buttons, he noticed the faint finger marks on his waist where the hem had ridden up. It was clear how much force Ning Chen had used.
He couldn’t lie to himself and say Ning Chen was just “serving” him anymore.
It clearly felt like Ning Chen himself couldn’t hold back…
Was it because they had been apart for a few days and he really missed him?
Or was it…
Shenyu found it hard to think.
For a long time, he had never considered that Ning Chen might actually fall for him, because he had read the original novel and knew Ning Chen’s inner monologue clearly.
Ning Chen’s obedient behavior was supposed to be the result of Manager Cheng’s training. He had always known his place; it was impossible for him to fall for a benefactor.
In the first three-quarters of the original novel, Ning Chen never truly fell for Fu Hengzhan. They weren’t even halfway through the timeline yet—it shouldn’t be possible, right?
But he and Fu Hengzhan were different people. Could that have produced a different result?
Wait, He Shenyu had been overlooking something: besides himself and Fu Hengzhan, Ning Chen could also influence the Plot God.
Could his previous illness have been caused by an issue on Ning Chen’s side?
Was that why the Plot God punished him?
But then why did he get better so mysteriously?
Shenyu was stumped again…
“What’s wrong, Shenyu?” Seeing him frozen in place staring with a strange expression, Ning Chen was puzzled.
Shenyu smiled and asked tentatively, “Why were you so… excited just now?”
Ning Chen smiled back and answered, “Because I haven’t seen you in so long. I missed you. I like kissing you, Shenyu. It feels very good.”
He leaned in again and planted a kiss on He Shenyu’s ear.
He didn’t know what Shenyu meant by the question. He had acted so obviously because he was no longer afraid of He Shenyu knowing his heart.
If Shenyu didn’t want to know, he would naturally change the subject.
He had realized that in this “sponsorship” relationship, his own wishes didn’t matter. Everything depended on what Shenyu wanted.
Hearing this, He Shenyu miraculously managed to rationalize it. So Ning Chen just thought kissing felt good?
That… was understandable…
He was young, after all. It was normal to have such thoughts. From an objective standpoint, kissing was just soft flesh pressing against soft flesh; it did feel good…
Shenyu thought it was okay too. That’s why he hadn’t refused when Ning Chen wanted to kiss after they had performed for Fu Hengzhan. If he hated it, he wouldn’t force himself.
Both of their internal logics convinced them, so they stood up together and went to the dining room for a peaceful meal.
Shenyu reheated the takeout from last night, filling the table with dishes.
When they ate, they were always quiet.
Shenyu was quiet because he had been scolded too much by his mother as a child, so he rarely spoke at the table. Ning Chen simply followed his lead.
Actually, in most situations, Ning Chen wasn’t much of a talker.
Thinking about it, He Shenyu felt Ning Chen was a bit different in front of him.
Was it because they were so close? Or because he was the benefactor and Ning Chen felt the need to please him?
Shenyu continued eating, observing Ning Chen out of the corner of his eye.
Ning Chen always ate very quickly. Perhaps it was a habit from his busy part-time jobs; He Shenyu had told him before that it wasn’t a healthy habit, but he couldn’t seem to change it.
The person across from him set down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth, and then stared straight at him.
Shenyu picked up food; he watched. Shenyu drank water; he watched. Shenyu got up to get a tissue; he was still watching.
Why is it getting weird again…
Shenyu had never noticed this before; he was usually very focused on his food.
Ning Chen, what is going on with Ning Chen?
Even if he were trying to maintain the image of an obedient “canary” eager to serve, He Shenyu wasn’t even looking at him right now. There was no need to maintain that act every single second, was there?
Could he really…
Shenyu looked up and met Ning Chen’s eyes.
Ning Chen wasn’t embarrassed. Instead, he asked, “What’s wrong, Shenyu? Do you need me to get you something?”
Shenyu shook his head. “No…”
He looked back down at his food. The chicken wing in his bowl suddenly didn’t taste as good…
No, he couldn’t jump to conclusions like that…
It would make him seem narcissistic. The probability of a canary falling for a benefactor was low, especially for a clear-headed, high-IQ character like Ning Chen.
He knew exactly what Ning Chen was thinking in the original book. How could a person’s inner thoughts change so easily? It was impossible…
Shenyu comforted himself again. He shouldn’t scare himself; Ning Chen hadn’t actually done anything out of line.
He also didn’t dare confirm it with Ning Chen. There was no need. He had enough troubles as it was; there was no point in looking for more…
Shenyu took a breath and went back to gnawing on his chicken wing.
Ning Chen propped his head on his hand and watched him, thinking, How can Shenyu even be this cute while eating? He felt he was completely beyond saving…
But he didn’t want to be saved. Loving He Shenyu, even if it was just a secret love, made him very happy.
