I Reloaded the Save File! [Transmigration] - Chapter 67
Xuan Shuang trusted the disciples she had personally raised. Therefore, even though Mo Xiao and Zuo Wuyi had both become demons, she still treated them as her own direct disciples. She even used her own spiritual energy to conceal Zuo Wuyi’s aura and brought them back to the sect.
“Master, we have something to confess to you.” Xuan Shuang’s attitude caused a shift in Mo Xiao and Zuo Wuyi’s plans. They decided to confess a part of the truth to their Master before actively moving to deal with Xuan Min.
“Confess what?” Xuan Shuang’s eyebrows twitched, and she had a bad feeling. “Is the demonic energy in your bodies uncontrollable?”
“No,” Zuo Wuyi shook her head, then looked at Mo Xiao. She still hadn’t figured out how to tell her Master. She felt so guilty towards her Master.
“Master, I have also become a demon,” Mo Xiao didn’t hesitate for long, speaking directly. “Junior Sister became a demon because of her bloodline, but I chose to become a demon voluntarily, because becoming a demon allows me to become stronger.”
“Stronger?” Xuan Shuang frowned. “Yun Mu, you are still young. You don’t need to overly pursue cultivation, or it might easily lead to the growth of inner demons.”
Mo Xiao did not interrupt. She waited until Xuan Shuang finished speaking before continuing, “But Master, I have a powerful enemy ahead of me, and I don’t have much time left…”
“A powerful enemy? Who is it?” Xuan Shuang asked.
Mo Xiao hesitated for a moment this time, though it was only a breath of time. “It’s Xuan Min. Xuan Min and us—only one side can survive.”
“Xuan Min? He targeted you again?” Xuan Shuang’s expression turned very poor. “What did he do to you? Tell me, your Master will help you seek justice.”
“Master, if I’m not mistaken, both Junior Sister and I have Xuan Min as our inner demon. And Xuan Min’s inner demon is very likely related to us as well,” Mo Xiao raised her head, meeting Xuan Shuang’s gaze without flinching.
“Master, your disciple is afraid she will disappoint you. Regardless of the final outcome, Junior Sister and I will fail to live up to your teachings and care,” Mo Xiao said, lifting her robe and kneeling directly on the ground. “We hope Master will grant us permission.”
“We hope Master will grant us permission,” Zuo Wuyi knelt beside Mo Xiao.
The expression on Xuan Shuang’s face was extremely complicated. If they were inner demons to each other, it meant a state of mutual destruction.
If she were merely their Master, she definitely wouldn’t stop them. She might even prepare the spiritual artifacts needed for the battle.
But she was not just their Master; she was also an Elder of the Dao Seeking Sect, and Xuan Min’s Senior Sister…
“Let me think about this…” If possible, Xuan Shuang wished time could flow backward, right to before the conflict arose between the two sides.
“Master, I have a premonition that now is the best opportunity. If we miss it…” Mo Xiao lowered her head and said, “I worry that complications might arise. We hope Master will grant us permission.”
Mo Xiao knew that her Master was a gentle and kind person at heart. It was impossible for her to simply stand by and watch her disciples oppose an Elder of the sect.
But some things must be done, even if one is reluctant. If Xuan Min was dealt with early, as the male lead and a pillar of the world, he would certainly receive the favor of the Heavenly Dao. If they waited until he broke through to the Integration stage, it would be even harder for them to strike.
Xuan Shuang did not speak. She closed her eyes, engaged in an inner conflict. On one side was her Sect Brother, and on the other were two direct disciples she had watched grow up.
After an unknown period of silence, Mo Xiao and Zuo Wuyi remained kneeling in the main hall, awaiting their Master’s reply.
“I shall pretend I heard nothing about today’s matter,” Xuan Shuang was the first to concede, letting out a heavy breath. “Do what you intend to do, but you must bear the consequences yourselves. I will not shield you.”
“Yes, your disciples obey!” Mo Xiao bowed her head, a hint of a smile appearing on her face. “Master, no matter the outcome, we will always be your disciples.”
Xuan Shuang did not speak, merely nodding slightly, silently watching her two disciples stand up and leave the hall.
“Does Master’s silence mean she tacitly approves of our actions?” After leaving the main hall, Zuo Wuyi asked, slightly uncertain.
Mo Xiao nodded. “We need to plan carefully and try not to involve anyone else. If possible, we will disguise Xuan Min’s death as being caused by an external demon.”
“That’s simple. I’ll just leave some mutated demonic energy on him when the time comes,” Zuo Wuyi said. “There are differences between types of demonic energy. Even if we are exposed, it can buy us some time.”
The two quickly formulated a plan to deal with Xuan Min. The current problem was how to lure Xuan Min out or find a long enough period when he would be alone.
Xuan Min’s current cultivation had not yet broken through to the Integration stage, so he wouldn’t sense their presence as long as Mo Xiao and Zuo Wuyi maintained their disguise.
After three consecutive days of tailing him, Mo Xiao finally found an opportunity: Xuan Min accepted a sect mission that required him to leave the sect and travel toward the central region to eliminate a middle Spirit Transformation stage demonic cultivator.
Xuan Shuang had not been idle during these three days. She refined a large batch of healing items and handed them to Yun Yu.
“Master, what are these for?” Yun Yu was puzzled. She still didn’t know that her two Junior Sisters had become demons.
“You take these things to Yun Mu and Wuyi, but don’t tell them they are from me. You must give them in your own name,” Xuan Shuang instructed.
In her eyes, her two disciples were young and impulsive. Their cultivation was merely at the Spirit Transformation stage, and compared to Xuan Min, who had just broken through to the late Spirit Transformation stage, they wouldn’t have much of an advantage, even as a pair.
Her disciples were sword cultivators who could fight above their rank, but Xuan Min was also one, and his combat experience was far richer than theirs. Not to mention, he had been an Elder for many years and held countless hidden trump cards.
Yun Yu didn’t quite understand why her Master would do this, but she didn’t ask further. She followed her instructions and handed everything over to Mo Xiao.
“These are from me. Take good care of them,” Yun Yu deliberately emphasized. To ensure absolute safety, she also mixed in some of the pills she had prepared herself.
Mo Xiao and Zuo Wuyi exchanged a look, both perfectly aware of whose doing this was.
