I Reloaded the Save File! [Transmigration] - Chapter 16
After successfully spending two days in the mystic realm, Mo Xiao learned her lesson. For the remaining days, she shielded Zuo Wuyi protectively behind her, ensuring that the younger girl’s presence was constantly locked within her spiritual sense.
When it came time to rest at night, Mo Xiao usually accommodated Zuo Wuyi’s wishes and slept beside her. Although they didn’t converse much, their relationship showed a clear improvement.
Over the next few days, Mo Xiao and Zuo Wuyi primarily encountered demonic beasts at the Foundation Establishment and Qi Cultivation stages. Mo Xiao dealt directly with the Foundation Establishment beasts, while the Qi Cultivation ones were left for Zuo Wuyi to handle, allowing her to accumulate some real combat experience.
Zuo Wuyi was initially cautious, hiding her true ability. After all, she was currently an eight-year-old child who was supposed to have no experience against demonic beasts. If she were to solve the problem with a single sword strike, it would be clearly telling Mo Xiao that something was amiss.
However, combat experience was something that had been etched into Zuo Wuyi’s soul over her hundreds of years in the previous life. While she deliberately used a few incorrect sword moves during routine practice, when it came to actual combat, she still unconsciously employed certain techniques.
“Mo Xiao, weren’t my movements graceful?” Zuo Wuyi pretended that nothing unusual had happened, her face showing a hint of satisfaction. “I learned all that from comprehending the basic sword moves. Am I not very clever?”
Mo Xiao had long noticed all of Zuo Wuyi’s flaws, but seeing her desperate attempts to cover them up, Mo Xiao simply pretended not to notice. “Indeed, your innate talent is excellent. You are very suited to be a Sword Cultivator.”
“Of course. For someone like me, learning anything is not a problem,” Zuo Wuyi said, swelling slightly with pride after receiving Mo Xiao’s compliment.
Ignoring the four, five, six, or seven minor flaws Zuo Wuyi exposed, on the fifth day, Yun He transmitted a message to Mo Xiao using a unique token from the Wendao Sect. She informed Mo Xiao that she had found a place very suitable for cultivation, that there was no danger nearby, and that she intended to stay there until the time came for her to be automatically teleported out.
After confirming Yun He’s safety, Mo Xiao was no longer in a rush to find her. She stopped directly in an area where Qi Cultivation Stage demonic beasts gathered and focused on supervising Zuo Wuyi’s practical training.
“Shouldn’t we be looking for treasures and some sort of inheritance in the mystic realm?” Zuo Wuyi couldn’t help but complain after skillfully slaying the twenty-ninth Qi Cultivation Stage demonic beast.
Mo Xiao glanced at Zuo Wuyi, then reached out and wiped the blood from her face. “With your current cultivation level, no inheritance will deem you worthy. What you need is to cultivate properly.”
“Oh,” Zuo Wuyi replied rather coolly, then picked up her sword and continued searching for more demonic beasts.
Time flew by in a flash. Just as Zuo Wuyi finished digging out a demonic beast inner core, she felt a pulling force on her. She then realized she was being grabbed by Mo Xiao’s collar, and after a moment of disorientation, she arrived in a completely new environment.
“We’re out,” Mo Xiao let go of Zuo Wuyi’s collar. Seeing the demonic beast inner core still in her hand, she quietly cast a cleansing spell toward it.
Before Zuo Wuyi could say anything, Yun He’s voice rang out from nearby. “Senior Sister! Junior Sister! I’m here!”
“Senior Sister Yun He,” Zuo Wuyi greeted her politely.
“Junior Sister, your cultivation seems to have improved?” Yun He raised an eyebrow. “Did you also find a cultivation treasure spot?”
Zuo Wuyi rubbed her nose. “More or less. Senior Sister taught me well.”
“That’s right. Senior Sister’s understanding of the Way of the Sword is not something ordinary people can compare to,” Yun He affirmed with a nod. She then pulled out a small storage pouch. “These are some low-level medicinal herbs I found. They’re not very useful to me, so I’ll give them to you, Junior Sister.”
“Thank you, Senior Sister Yun He.” Zuo Wuyi did not refuse, receiving it properly with both hands.
Mo Xiao watched their interaction thoughtfully. After tinkering in her storage space for a while, she also took out two storage pouches and gave one each to Yun He and Zuo Wuyi. “Keep them safe.”
Yun He looked at the extra storage pouch with some surprise. She opened it directly, and upon seeing the small mountain of spirit stones piled inside, she couldn’t help but gasp. “Senior Sister, did you go looting… ah, no, did you find something good!”
“I don’t have much need for spirit stones. Over time, the amount naturally accumulated,” Mo Xiao explained. The resources she needed were basically given directly to her by her Revered Master, so her monthly stipend had piled up over the years.
“Thank you, Senior Sister!” Yun He accepted the spirit stones readily. “When I get rich, I will definitely share with Senior Sister too!”
“I look forward to that day,” Mo Xiao said with a smile.
Zuo Wuyi stared at the storage pouch for a while before carefully putting it away in her own storage space. She lowered her head and thanked her, “Thank you, Senior Sister.”
Mo Xiao keenly sensed that Zuo Wuyi’s mood was slightly off. After hesitating, she reached out and patted her head, but did not say anything more.
After walking for a distance, Yun He announced that her cultivation was stable and that she planned to travel around nearby to gain experience, so she would not return to the sect yet.
Mo Xiao did not object, only cautioning her to be careful and remember to send a letter every month to report her safety.
“Wuwu, Junior Sister, we might not see each other for several years.” Yun He looked cheerful when she said she was going traveling, but when it came time to actually separate, she became reluctant to leave Zuo Wuyi.
“Senior Sister Yun He, if you miss me, you can come back to the sect to visit me,” Zuo Wuyi said, finding Yun He’s enthusiasm a bit overwhelming. She didn’t think she and Yun He were close enough for this level of intimacy. It was only a separation of a few years; why was she acting as if it were a life-and-death parting?
“Then, Junior Sister, will you miss me?” Yun He looked at Zuo Wuyi pitifully.
Zuo Wuyi pursed her lips. For some reason, this scene felt incredibly familiar. When I clung to Mo Xiao, begging her not to go, was I acting like Yun He is now?
“Junior Sister, you don’t miss me at all! Is it because I haven’t been good enough to you, Senior Sister?” Seeing Zuo Wuyi hesitate, Yun He looked heartbroken.
“No, I… I will miss Senior Sister Yun He,” Zuo Wuyi forced a reluctant smile. “Senior Sister Yun He, please be careful. If you can’t win, then just come back.”
“Alright, Junior Sister. You wait obediently for your Senior Sister to return to the sect.” Yun He said, taking the opportunity to pat Zuo Wuyi’s head before quickly withdrawing her hand just before Mo Xiao’s gaze flew over.
Yun He did not dare to hug Mo Xiao in this manner to say goodbye, so she simply poured both their shares of parting emotion onto Zuo Wuyi, chattering on for a long time before reluctantly waving her hand and leaving.
After Yun He had departed, Zuo Wuyi looked at Mo Xiao with a somewhat confused expression. “Mo Xiao, was I… was I like that when I asked you to stay before?”
Mo Xiao suppressed a smile. She first nodded, then shook her head.
“What do you mean?” Zuo Wuyi asked.
“You acted similarly to Yun He, but your boldness, perhaps, was greater,” Mo Xiao said truthfully.
