I Ran Away After Flirting with the Goddess - Chapter 38
Chapter 38
An Rongrong felt that every breath she exhaled, if it landed on a pile of dry straw, would cause an immediate fire. It was just that hot.
She tried hard to see Shen Lishu’s expression, but unfortunately, the light in the stairwell was too dim; she could barely make out the outline of the other woman’s face.
“Sister,” she called out softly, her voice trembling at the end.
Stop teasing, if you tease me any more, I’ll really spontaneously combust.
An Rongrong was a lesbian to begin with; she clearly understood her own needs and the fatal temptation of Shen Lishu’s actions. Her body had given an early response as well. If Shen Lishu really wanted to do it here, An Rongrong felt she wouldn’t resist at all she might even be willing to lower her head and bite the hem of her own skirt to make things easier for her.
However, An Rongrong couldn’t figure out Shen Lishu’s intent. Was it simply a need for the filming to find a “lesbian feeling,” or was she just amusing herself to see how An Rongrong would react?
But the Goddess wasn’t that kind of “scumbag” person. If Shen Lishu really wanted to play with someone’s feelings, An Rongrong couldn’t wait to enthusiastically sign up. Please, Sister, do not be stingy with your toyings! She definitely didn’t want to be pitied just because she was a fan.
Yet now that the “good thing” was actually happening, An Rongrong was cowardly enough to hope that Shen Lishu was being serious. Human greed truly knows no bounds.
Shen Lishu was still waiting for An Rongrong’s answer, asking if she wanted to experience the feel of a D-cup firsthand. An Rongrong’s ears were steaming; her fingers felt scalded. She felt as though Shen Lishu’s skin carried fire, traveling from her fingertips to the depths of her heart, burning uncomfortably.
The question “Is Sister serious?” was stuck in her throat, unable to be asked. Like a flower in a mirror or the moon in the water, speaking it would shatter the illusion.
An Rongrong bit her lower lip, reached out to hug Shen Lishu’s waist tightly, and took the initiative to kiss her lips. Regardless of what she meant, An Rongrong wasn’t the one losing out.
Shen Lishu always carried a pleasant fragrance the fresh scent of roses after rain mixed with the alluring charm of a mature woman. This scent was normally subtle and inviting enough, let alone now in this dark environment. An Rongrong felt her sense of smell magnified a thousandfold, and Shen Lishu, carrying this scent, was like a walking hormonal bomb, constantly stimulating her adrenaline to over-secrete.
The two kissed for an unknown amount of time, only stopping when they heard someone talking outside the stairwell door. Separated only by an iron door, the voice was right there.
An Rongrong felt a surge of panic, like being caught in an affair. Her eyelashes fluttered incessantly, brushing against Shen Lishu’s nose, causing her to let out a muffled laugh.
The girl talking outside seemed to be on the phone giving her location, likely waiting for someone to pick her up. Because she was speaking quite loudly, the voice-activated light in the stairwell which wasn’t very sensitive was triggered.
An Rongrong: “…”
As the circular incandescent light above them flickered on, An Rongrong’s right eyelid twitched, her breath hitched, her scalp tightened, and she got goosebumps. She had a pile of “beep ” worthy curses she desperately wanted to vent!
Who knew this thing actually worked!
The previously dark space became instantly bright. An Rongrong and Shen Lishu were suddenly face-to-face. Because they were so close, they could count each other’s eyelashes.
The sheer embarrassment of this “social death.” All the intimate affection that had relied on the darkness was now exposed under the light. An Rongrong’s face turned so red she didn’t know how to face Shen Lishu. Her fingers curled stiffly as she slowly moved them away from Shen Lishu’s waist.
Shen Lishu, however, asked her quite naturally, “Shall we go?”
An Rongrong glanced at the iron door behind her, then at the Shen Lishu in front of her, and nodded slowly. Her eyes didn’t quite dare to make contact with Shen Lishu as she walked behind her with her head down. An Rongrong noticed that they spent much more time in silence today than usual.
Fortunately, the fourth floor wasn’t high, and they soon arrived at their room doors. An Rongrong took out her key card to open the door, her hand lingering on the doorknob as she glanced toward Shen Lishu out of the corner of her eye, seemingly waiting for something.
“Do you want to come over to go over the script?” Shen Lishu tilted her head and asked.
In the middle of the night, two women in one room… it probably wouldn’t be as simple as just going over the script…
An Rongrong’s feet felt glued to the floor. Her heart was nearly jumping out of her throat, and she couldn’t help swallowing. She had sweated today; did she need to take a shower first? More importantly, she needed to change into a clean pair of “panties.” After all, the kiss in the dark just now had been quite intense.
An Rongrong was extremely nervous. She both wanted to go in with Shen Lishu and wanted to go prepare first to show her best side. Just as she finished her mental preparation and was about to close her door and walk toward Shen Lishu, Shen Lishu looked down and answered a call.
“Hello, Su Lin, what’s up?” Shen Lishu winked at An Rongrong with her right eye. It felt like she was flirting with her.
An Rongrong’s face turned red unproductively. Sister’s wink is killing me!
Shen Lishu leaned against the wall with one arm crossed over her chest, talking to Su Lin, not in a rush to enter her room. An Rongrong, for reasons unknown to herself, pretended to be replying to messages and stood by her door without opening it. She looked down, holding her phone with both hands, opening a WeChat chat with zero messages to look busy, while actually scrolling through a Moments feed full of micro-business ads.
Ads she would normally swipe past in a second were now being read with great interest.
Aa Resources – Find Me: Ma, the perfect partner for ‘Are You Hungry’ late-night snacks, 4 boxes of self-heating mini hotpot for only ¥37.9!! Link attached below.
It seems nothing is easy these days; even people selling “adult vids” (cereal/mai pian) are doing food ads.
An Rongrong maintained the appearance of seriously replying to messages, but her ears were perked up, waiting for Shen Lishu to finish the call so they could continue their topic.
“I would’ve forgotten if you hadn’t mentioned it,” Shen Lishu laughed. “Okay, you sent it to my computer? I’ll go check.”
Seeing An Rongrong looking over, Shen Lishu silently mouthed to her: Go to sleep early.
“Yeah, okay, I’ll look at it in a bit.” Shen Lishu took out her card to open the door, waved to An Rongrong, and entered her room.
An Rongrong’s mouth slumped, her shoulders dropped, and she leaned her forehead against the door panel, letting out a frustrated groan for a while before finally going inside.
Su Lin had sent several messages earlier that Shen Lishu hadn’t replied to, which was why she called.
She said, “The CCTV interview I’ve already spoken with Director Mao. Since the appointment was made a month ago, he didn’t have anything to say against it.”
Su Lin seemed to be at home; Shen Lishu could hear the sound of an electric kettle boiling water on her end.
“Tomorrow, the person replacing Ji Ning arrives. Director Mao will mostly prioritize her scenes first, so it won’t delay the progress much.” Shen Lishu opened her laptop with one hand.
Earlier, a CCTV host had called asking to do a special interview about actors and asked if Shen Lishu had time. At that time, Shen Lishu hadn’t accepted Sink yet and thought she’d be resting with nothing to do. Moreover, the content of this interview was quite meaningful for new actors, so she had agreed. Who knew so many things would happen recently? She had actually forgotten the pre-arranged interview.
Su Lin had already sent the materials that might be needed to her computer, and Shen Lishu clicked accept.
“I’ll pick you up early tomorrow,” Su Lin remembered something and asked. “How is An Rongrong? Is it okay if she shares an assistant with you for the time being?”
Shen Lishu smiled. “She’s very well-behaved and exceptionally obedient, what could be the problem? Seriously, why do you always think she’s going to stir up trouble? She’s clearly such a soft little girl.”
Su Lin: She just entered the cast and already tricked the never-approachable Best Actress into speaking up for her, even getting a fellow actress replaced. And you call that ‘honest and not stirring up trouble’?
Su Lin didn’t know where Shen Lishu’s good impression of An Rongrong came from. They say fans have filters for their idols, but she’d never heard of an idol having a filter for a fan.
“Once she finishes filming this drama, I’ll arrange for her to be on a couple of variety shows to increase her exposure and popularity.”
Personal dislike aside, as a manager, Su Lin kept business and personal matters separate. As for why they had to wait until filming was over… Director Mao didn’t allow new actors to take on multiple jobs (juggle sets), and Su Lin didn’t want to go haggle with him. Besides, letting An Rongrong have a complete experience of following a production would be good for her.
Shen Lishu hesitated for a moment. “Variety shows?”
The water boiled, and Su Lin opened a packet of cold medicine to mix in. “I know what you mean; you don’t want her to become a ‘variety show regular’ (someone who lacks serious works).” She said, “But Best Actress Shen, traffic is king nowadays. It’s not the same as ten years ago for you. She can’t follow your path to godhood.”
As a newcomer, if An Rongrong doesn’t have “traffic” (popularity/hype), who would use her? The best method was to gain popularity through variety shows first, then pick suitable scripts that was the normal process.
Shen Lishu had almost forgotten the ten-year age gap between her and An Rongrong until Su Lin mentioned it. She felt annoyed and corrected her strictly: “I’m not even thirty yet. You make it sound like I’m much older than her.”
“Well, not much, just ten years,” Su Lin spoke bluntly. “Calling you ‘Auntie’ might be a bit inappropriate.”
Shen Lishu: Is that polite? I’m asking you, is that polite?
Shen Lishu unilaterally declared that Su Lin had lost her as a friend. Ten minutes ago, she had just pressed An Rongrong against a door for a hot kiss, and now someone was reminding her of their age gap Shen Lishu couldn’t stand it. What’s wrong with a “Big Sister”? A mature, charming Big Sister is even better.
The “mature and steady” Best Actress ended the call.
On the other end, Su Lin looked at the phone screen and smiled. She had been working with Shen Lishu since she graduated from university. At that time, Shen Lishu was somewhat famous but not as legendary as she was now, yet she didn’t lack resources or managers. Still, she had chosen her a newcomer from a group of experienced managers. In a way, Shen Lishu had been her benefactor, and Su Lin was very grateful to her.
When the water cooled down a bit, Su Lin furrowed her brows and drank the medicine. It had rained several times in Magic City (Shanghai) recently, and the temperature had dropped quite a bit. Su Lin had forgotten to turn off the air conditioning while sleeping at her desk and had a slight cold.
Su Lin sat back on the sofa with her cup and looked at her laptop. The phone on the table buzzed. She glanced at it; it was a message from Shen Lishu:
Shen Lishu: If you’re not feeling well, then rest. My studio doesn’t just employ idle people; don’t treat yourself like a machine. Shen Lishu: I’ll have the driver pick me up tomorrow; don’t you come.
Shen Lishu knew Su Lin too well; she was the type who wanted to treat the studio as her home. If she weren’t truly feeling terrible, she wouldn’t have gone home, let alone boiled water to drink herself.
Su Lin froze for a moment, a smile appearing in her eyes. Su Lin: Okay.
Shen Lishu put her phone aside and carefully reviewed the materials related to tomorrow’s interview. By the time she finished her work, it was almost eleven o’clock. She stretched and went to take a shower.
At midnight, after finishing her skincare routine, the Best Actress turned off the lights and lay in bed. The air conditioning was set, the blankets were on comfort levels were high.
At this time, Best Actress Shen took her phone and opened the “Postgraduate Entrance Exam Materials” Su Jiang had sent her.
She extracted the compressed file, put on her headphones, and clicked on an “action movie.”
The video started playing…
In the dead of night, it was time to watch some things adults should watch.
