I Ran Away After Flirting with the Goddess - Chapter 30
Chapter 30
The assistant director, seeing the two of them getting drenched like idiots who didn’t know how to hide, distressedly shielded them with an umbrella.
Xiao Zhang quickly handed a dry towel to Shen Lishu. “Wipe off quickly, don’t catch a cold.” She had brought two one for Shen Lishu and another for An Rongrong.
Xiao Zhang looked down to grab the second towel draped over her forearm, but when she looked up, she saw that Shen Lishu had already tossed her towel over An Rongrong’s head, covering her completely. Shen Lishu took the second one for herself.
Looking out across the sports field, there wasn’t a single place to take shelter, and the rain was only getting heavier. The crew members had already hoisted the equipment onto the van, doing their best to protect it from the wet.
Shen Lishu, draped in her towel, boarded the RV with An Rongrong. Since it was summer, their clothes were thin; by now, they were soaked through, clinging damply to their bodies.
Shen Lishu told Xiao Zhang to brew some hot tea while simultaneously pushing An Rongrong toward the shower.
“You go first, you go first,” An Rongrong shook her head and waved her hands. She stood in the RV’s living room, using the towel to rub her loose hair. “I’ll wash in a bit.”
Her skirt was completely saturated, water dripping steadily onto the floor. Unless she sat on the floor, she would definitely ruin Shen Lishu’s sofa.
“Be good,” Shen Lishu pushed An Rongrong toward the bathroom.
An Rongrong would rather catch a cold herself than have the Goddess suffer with wet clothes clinging to her skin. Her body leaned back stubbornly in resistance. As stiff as her body was, her voice was just as soft: “Sister, I am being good. If you go wash, I’ll be even better.”
Pushed to the bathroom door, An Rongrong grabbed the doorframe with both hands in a final struggle. “You wash first.”
Shen Lishu looked at those large, watery eyes. She raised an eyebrow slightly, her red lips curving upward. “In that case, how about we wash together?”
The kiss they had just filmed was too intense; some of Shen Lishu’s lipstick had rubbed onto An Rongrong’s mouth, making the scene look exceptionally ambiguous.
Shen Lishu felt an itch in her heart and intentionally teased her. “There’s no need to decide who goes first or second. It’ll save time and water.”
An Rongrong: “!”
An Rongrong’s eyes snapped wide, and her brain stalled on the spot. Her first reaction was Shower play?
Was she really allowed this kind of “fan benefit”? Was this something she could watch without paying?
An Rongrong’s gaze uncontrollably dropped to Shen Lishu’s chest. Shen Lishu was wearing a white cotton T-shirt today; now that it was soaked through, it clung to her body, outlining full shapes. Although the fabric wasn’t transparent, as a fellow girl, An Rongrong could still see that the Goddess’s bra was lace-trimmed.
The color was black.
An Rongrong felt like she couldn’t hold out; her nose felt a faint heat. She clamped a hand over the lower half of her face and, before she could have an uncontrollable nosebleed, reached out and slammed the door shut with a bright red face.
The Goddess had a large chest, a thin waist, and long legs. An Rongrong was terrified that if they showered together, she wouldn’t be able to control herself and would do something that required a mosaic filter. At that point, they probably wouldn’t save any water they’d use even more.
Shen Lishu looked at the closed door in front of her and couldn’t help but cross her arms and laugh out loud. “We’re both women. Whatever I have, you have too. What are you afraid of?”
Hearing this, An Rongrong looked down at her own chest and wanted to roar in protest.
No! I definitely do not have what you have! Does the Goddess have no self-awareness regarding her own size?
An Rongrong took her time undressing. Only after hearing Shen Lishu’s footsteps move away did she turn on the showerhead with a blushing face. Even though they had kissed, she was still quite embarrassed.
Seeing Shen Lishu walk over with a camel-colored shawl draped casually over her shoulders, Xiao Zhang froze for a moment. She peeked curiously toward the bathroom and asked blankly, “Why haven’t you showered yet?”
“I let Rongrong go first,” Shen Lishu found a disposable cup and handed it to Xiao Zhang, letting her pour hot water for everyone. “Her skirt is long; it takes a long time to dry.”
An Rongrong usually wore knee-length skirts for filming. Once wet, they clung to the body, making it much more uncomfortable for her than for Shen Lishu.
Xiao Zhang listened, dumbfounded. The boss was wearing wet clothes outside while letting the artist take a hot shower first? What kind of industry-inspiring “Good Boss” was this!
Shen Lishu finished hosting the assistant director and the others when she suddenly remembered something. She turned back to the dressing room. A small portion of her clothes was kept here; most were at the hotel. An Rongrong certainly couldn’t come out wrapped in just a bath towel, so Shen Lishu looked for a change of her own clothes.
Outerwear was easy enough, but undergarments were a bit tricky. Shen Lishu pinched her chin, standing before the wardrobe and recollecting. An Rongrong’s size, by visual estimation, should be an A.
Shen Lishu: “…” Then there’s no point in wearing one. Empty space is much more comfortable.
Shen Lishu found a pair of shorts and a shirt with the tags still on for An Rongrong. She rapped her knuckles lightly against the bathroom door. “Rongrong, I brought you a set of clean clothes.”
An Rongrong had been worrying about how to get out; now the problem was solved. The Goddess really was a “rain in a drought”! She was her Doraemon!
An Rongrong opened the door a tiny crack. After making sure Shen Lishu wasn’t looking inside, she reached out an arm to take the clothes.
The clothes Shen Lishu prepared were all new, including the underwear. Holding the black panties in her hand, An Rongrong’s face involuntarily heated up, as if she had come down with a serious fever.
As she dressed, she realized something was off: no bra. Well, it made sense how could the Goddess have her size? Fortunately, the shirt was loose; wearing one or not didn’t seem to make a difference, and you couldn’t tell.
An Rongrong felt a moment of relief in the mirror, but then her smile faded.
Damn! Is “you can’t tell if I’m wearing one or not” really something to be happy about?
An Rongrong pouted, comforting herself: Look at world-class supermodels which of them isn’t flat? Flat is good; flat has a high-fashion feel! I’m flat and I’m proud!
By the time An Rongrong came out, the water was boiled. After she finished, it was Shen Lishu’s turn to wash.
The assistant director sized up the clothes An Rongrong was wearing. An Rongrong uncomfortably shielded her chest with her arms, her eyelashes fluttering.
“Teacher Shen is truly generous. Rongrong, that set you’re wearing is probably from a very good foreign brand.” An Rongrong didn’t really know the brand the assistant director mentioned. It was a niche, elegant brand—not famous domestically but quite popular abroad. A set like this probably cost six figures.
An Rongrong blinked, slowly looking down at the two pieces of cloth on her body. Six figures? She suddenly felt like she wasn’t wearing clothes, but stacks of cash! This also meant Shen Lishu had given her her personal clothes, not clothes provided by a brand partner.
An Rongrong held her cup with both hands, wondering if the Goddess would even want these back after she washed them. Or should she search for the same style and buy one to give back to her? That way, by a loose definition, they’d have “couple’s outfits”!
An Rongrong felt she was quite the clever little wit!
Just as she pulled out her phone, she received a call from Director Mao. “Hello?”
Director Mao was still in the van watching the footage they just shot. “Rongrong, your improvisation was truly inspired. Excellent! It made the plot flow much more smoothly.”
The more Director Mao watched, the more satisfied he became. “It’s also lucky that Shen Lishu was your scene partner; otherwise, someone else might not have been able to catch it.”
What if they hadn’t caught it? They’d have to reshoot, of course!
An Rongrong was stunned. She felt like she had missed out on hundreds of millions! She had been thinking about NGs for the bed scenes; how could she have forgotten about the kiss? Even a mosquito’s leg is still meat! An Rongrong felt like she had lost big time. When they were filming, all she thought about was what Luo Yue would do; she hadn’t properly savored what it felt like to French kiss Shen Lishu.
Director Mao hung up after speaking. Because the assistant director had a good relationship with An Rongrong, she couldn’t help but whisper to her, “Rongrong, you’re a newcomer so you might not know, but improvisation is a risky thing.”
“Because you suddenly added a scene, your scene partner might not be able to react in time and might drop the ball. It’s thanks to Teacher Shen’s great acting and quick reflexes that we got a shot that made Director Mao clap in praise. If you encountered someone who couldn’t catch the scene, they might be unhappy.”
The assistant director tried to say these things in a light tone.
An Rongrong paused. “Then… was what I did the same as Ji Ning?”
“Of course not. She was overacting; that’s different from you,” the assistant director whispered. “But you really should thank Teacher Shen.”
If the Best Actress hadn’t used her lightning-fast reflexes to cover for An Rongrong, Director Mao’s call right now might have been to scold her. Afterward, Shen Lishu didn’t even mention it. If it were someone narrow-minded, they would have thought An Rongrong was deliberately trying to steal the spotlight.
An Rongrong truly didn’t understand these things. At the time, her emotions had peaked, and she had just kissed her she hadn’t thought about anything else. Hearing the assistant director’s analysis, An Rongrong realized she was suspected of “stealing the scene.”
The sound of water in the bathroom stopped. She carried a cup of hot water and trotted over to wait at the door.
When Shen Lishu opened the door and saw An Rongrong, she was quite confused. “What are you standing here for?”
“Waiting to apologize to you by offering tea instead of wine.” An Rongrong looked at Shen Lishu’s lips, which were moist from the steam. She fluttered her lashes and looked down. “I just realized that I unconsciously stole the scene earlier.”
Shen Lishu had her hair wrapped in a dry towel. She gave a “tsk.” “I thought you were here to apologize for kissing me by force.”
An Rongrong’s face heated up instantly. She stammered, “That… that doesn’t count.” It was all for the character how could she think of it as being a hooligan! An Rongrong muttered, her conscience not quite clear.
Although her mind was full of “driving” thoughts—wishing she could speed at 180 mph out of town and she had thought about using NGs to take advantage, she hadn’t had the chance to put those thoughts into action yet. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have missed out on the sensations of the kiss they just finished.
Thinking about it now, An Rongrong’s heart was green with regret.
“Wow, so that doesn’t count as a forced kiss?” Shen Lishu had no intention of letting her off. She reached out, took the cup An Rongrong was holding, and took a sip. Staring at the girl’s face, which was so red it was practically smoking, her eyes were full of mirth. “Then what does the young lady think counts as a forced kiss?”
Shen Lishu had always loved teasing An Rongrong, but today, for some reason, she was being even more mischievous. She felt a surge of playful energy that made her feel restless if she didn’t tease her.
Shen Lishu leaned closer to An Rongrong, her voice light. “But you even used your tongue.”
An Rongrong: “!”
An Rongrong nearly passed away. Her eyes went wide as she stared at Shen Lishu with a crimson face. Was this still her Goddess? Had she been possessed by some random spirit while in the shower!
Shen Lishu felt much better after saying that. “Don’t worry. If I could be easily upstaged by you, you can take your pick of any of the trophies in my house.”
That was the confidence of a Best Actress. An Rongrong felt the aura radiating from her, and her calves went weak with admiration.
After the group returned to the hotel, the assistant director had someone brew brown sugar ginger tea and delivered it to each room, fearing everyone might catch a cold. Outside, the rain was getting heavier, with thunder and lightning showing no signs of stopping.
Shen Lishu stood by the window with her portion of the ginger tea, looking out. Just then, her phone rang in her pocket. It was Su Jiang.
The other woman’s voice sounded exhausted and listless. “Lishu, I’m sorry about the trending search. I didn’t keep a close enough eye on my person.” Su Jiang got angry just mentioning it. “I never imagined Ji Ning would be so bold!”
Shen Lishu took a sip of tea and asked, “Did you get the full story?”
Just then, a bolt of lightning streaked across, instantly illuminating the entire night sky of Magic City (Shanghai).
Su Jiang’s voice came through the receiver. “I did. It’s hard to explain in a few words. In short, I didn’t watch her well, and she caused trouble for you and your little artist.”
Shen Lishu liked those words.
Su Jiang was clearly worn out. “It’s Ji Ning’s own fault that her role was pulled; I’m not calling for her sake. How about this: pick two bottles of good wine from my collection as an apology to you and that little artist of yours.”
Su Jiang’s character was truly beyond reproach. However, what puzzled Shen Lishu was her previous sentence.
A crack of thunder outside was exceptionally loud, making her ears ache as if the entire building beneath her feet was shaking. Su Jiang sounded startled on the other end. “Is the rain in Shanghai that heavy?” It was clear and sunny where she was in the capital.
Shen Lishu gave an absentminded “mhm.” She stared at the brown liquid in her cup and asked Su Jiang, “You said Ji Ning’s role was pulled?”
She frowned. “Which role?”
