I Need To Find A Way To Make Her Love Me Again - Chapter 40
The dark clouds spanning the sky began to scatter, and the surrounding pavilions crumbled into ruins. Yan Xingyu’s eyes flickered as she looked up, seeing the bright moon reveal itself, the barrier protecting the Ghost City was finally vanishing.
Her movements stiffened. She tried to pull away from the other woman, only to realize something had snared her feet. Countless shadow fish emerged from the ground, wrapping around her with a greasy, icy sensation that surged through her entire body.
The world went black, and she instinctively closed her eyes. When the restraints finally dissolved, Yan Xingyu opened her eyes to find a face inches from her own. She took a few steps back. Looking at the blooming fire lotus before her, she was struck with surprise, how had they ended up here?
Feeling something pressing against her waist, Yan Xingyu looked down to see a tentacle as thick as a wrist braced against her. A flower bud shaped sucker held her steady, pulling her back toward the person in front of her.
The other woman watched her quietly. Her pale amber eyes held a natural hint of coolness that dissipated much of the anger in Yan Xingyu’s heart. Thinking of what she had just done, Yan Xingyu pursed her lips, at a loss for words.
She shifted her gaze, too embarrassed to maintain eye contact, and saw the blood colored flower stamens wrapped around that ivory wrist. Through the gaps, she could see the dense, tiny needles pinned ruthlessly into her skin.
Yan Xingyu’s gaze darkened as a kaleidoscope of emotions filled her heart, it seemed she had no right to hold a grudge against this person after all.
Suddenly, another tentacle appeared to tilt her face upward. She felt a force from behind drawing her closer and closer to the other woman, instantly cutting through her cluttered thoughts.
Then, cool lips pressed against hers. Yan Xingyu froze, her mind turning into a white void as if she had lost her very soul.
Like a long-overdue response to the kiss from moments ago, the other woman began to kiss her earnestly, yet clumsily.
Almost imperceptibly, the kiss deepened, tongues tangling softly. As the other woman sucked at the tip of her tongue, Yan Xingyu’s heart began to thrum wildly.
The atmosphere between them grew heated. Realizing her own warmth was finally heating up this porcelain-like person, Yan Xingyu panted, watching the other’s face turn a deep crimson. It made her look truly alive.
Hooking her arms around her, she whispered, “Do you know what you’re doing?”
Yi Rong didn’t speak. Instead, she used a tentacle to support Yan Xingyu’s body, lifting her so she sat suspended over her lap. Another tentacle moved to her collar, slowly and methodically undoing her robes.
Yan Xingyu watched her actions, the intent clear. Her breathing quickened. She lowered her head to kiss the tender skin of the other’s neck and asked, “Yi Rong, do you know how?”
“Shall I… teach you?”
A soft, uniquely alluring “Mm” caused Yan Xingyu’s entire body to pulse with excitement. Feeling the soft curves beneath her, her movements became incredibly patient, savoring this moment where the other belonged solely to her.
Yan Xingyu looked into those shimmering, soulful eyes, her fingertips trembling with suppressed tension.
She asked, “May I?”
“Yes.”
Seeing the flirtatious glint in her eyes as she shyly consented, Yan Xingyu could no longer restrain herself and dove in deep. As their bodies pressed tightly together, the subsequent tremors made her heart ache with tenderness, and she kissed her down.
A barrage of kisses wove together like waves in an ocean. With the rise and fall of their breath, wave after wave crashed against the shore, soaking the sand and drenching the palms of her hands.
She lifted her head, a hint of a mischievous smile flashing in her eyes. She reached out her fingertips to tease the other woman. Seeing the corners of her eyes flush red, Yan Xingyu couldn’t help but feel a bit smug.
However, in the next second, the world spun. Yan Xingyu found herself flipped over. Teeth nipped at her earlobe with a bit of added pressure, a punishment for her earlier playfulness.
As several more tentacles wrapped around her body, she realized she had provoked the other woman. She quickly pleaded, “Yi Rong, I was wrong. I won’t tease you like that again.”
The lips behind her lingered at the curve of her ear as a voice asked, “You like it like this, don’t you?”
Yan Xingyu couldn’t deny it. A string of soft moans served as her response, and the person behind her seemed to have discovered a new kind of pleasure.
Closing her eyes to enjoy the intimacy, Yan Xingyu suddenly felt her hands pinned down. She snapped her eyes open to see another Yi Rong appearing before her.
Her pupils dilated. She stared at her and gasped, “Yi Rong, what are you doing?”
“I think you’ll like this.”
As the figure before her knelt down and crawled beneath her, Yan Xingyu felt as though she were being pulled down from the clouds into a light, drizzling rain.
The “cultivation” continued under the falling rain, turning the earth soft and yielding, making one accidentally sink right into it.
After the nourishment of the rain, a wonderful scent lingered at the tip of her nose. Yi Rong lifted her head with blurred, hazy eyes and asked, “Do you like it?”
A numbing wave of pleasure tightened like a bowstring. Yan Xingyu hooked her arms around her and replied, “I love it.”
“Mm, I like it too.”
This answer came from right beside her ear. Yi Rong murmured, “Xingyu, don’t ever leave me again.”
“I won’t.”
That soft promise stirred ripples like a spark igniting a flame. Gradually, the figures pressed against her front and back grew fierce, conquering her inch by inch. Like a sudden storm of wind and rain, they turned the world upside down, scattering her scent everywhere until nothing else remained.
When the storm finally passed and the skies cleared, the very breath the two exhaled seemed to merge into one. Yan Xingyu leaned against Yi Rong, whose tentacles supported her body, allowing her to lie back in complete relaxation.
Yi Rong draped a robe over her and asked softly, “Are you still angry?”
Having just finished their intimacy, Yan Xingyu was hoping for a moment of tender lingering. Hearing such a “mood killing” question snapped her back to reality. A flash of annoyance crossed her eyes, and she huffed, “So, you only sacrificed your ‘charms’ because you were afraid of my temper?”
Seeing her silence, Yan Xingyu’s face fell further. “I actually hit the nail on the head, didn’t I?”
She made a move to get up, but Yi Rong quickly pressed her back into her embrace. “It is not like that.”
“It is because I love you that I chose to be with you like this.”
“Oh? Weren’t you keeping your distance before? You didn’t speak to me for days.”
Seeing her bring up old grievances, Yi Rong explained, “That was because of what you said at Lingluan Palace. I didn’t know how to react. These past few days, I was trying to decide how to define our relationship before facing you again.”
Yan Xingyu looked puzzled. “What did I say at Lingluan Palace?”
Yi Rong then helped her recall the memories she had lost. Listening to the recount, Yan Xingyu thought of how Guan Fei had teased her earlier, and her face instantly turned beet red.
Her arrogant flame flickered out, replaced by a shy, soft mumble. “Alright then.” She leaned back into Yi Rong’s arms and continued, “So, what conclusion did you reach?”
Yi Rong replied, “At the time, I thought you were drifting in and out of consciousness, that it might be nonsense, yet I feared it was the truth.”
“But just now, when you kissed me of your own accord, I realized it wasn’t just your feelings for me, it was my own uncontrollable heartbeat.”
“Wanting to be with you, wanting to be intimate with you, wanting to bring you pleasure… these are all the things I desire to do.”
Even though she had asked just to hear it, hearing the words come from Yi Rong’s mouth made Yan Xingyu’s heart swell with irrepressible joy. “Well, you finally learned how to talk.”
Watching the corners of Yan Xingyu’s mouth curl upward, Yi Rong smiled along. “I am indeed not good with words. I will have to trouble you to be patient with me in the future.”
“Mm-hmm~” Yan Xingyu twined a lock of hair hanging over her chest around her finger. Noticing the blood-red flower stamens binding her, she asked, “Is there no way for you to get out of here?”
Yi Rong said, “The Jilian (Binding Lotus) is now connected to my very lifeblood. Even if I were to flay my own skin, its thorns would not leave my body; they would simply drag me back again.”
Yan Xingyu frowned at this. “Doesn’t that mean you’re trapped here for a lifetime?”
She couldn’t help but mutter, “I don’t want to spend my whole life with a clone…”
Yi Rong choked momentarily, caught between helplessness and being amused by the other’s bluntness. “Actually, there is a way, though it is quite difficult.”
“What is it?” Yan Xingyu asked.
“The Earth Spirit Crystal can force the Jilian back into its bud form. If that happens, it will retract its thorns, and I can break free,” Yi Rong explained. She paused before continuing, “However, the Earth Spirit Crystal is a treasure guarded by Sect Leader Xu. He is quite a stingy man, it won’t be easy to obtain.”
The Earth Spirit Crystal? That meant another trip to Qingding Mountain. When she had left, Liu Ruoni said she would try to steal it for her, but it seemed she couldn’t rely on that hope alone. Yan Xingyu said, “I’ll figure something out when the time comes.”
“Mhm.”
Yan Xingyu stood up and looked at Yi Rong’s jade white skin, now dotted with faint red marks. She smiled triumphantly, leaned down to give her cheek a loud muah, and pulled away the tentacles wrapped around her. She shook out her robes and dressed herself.
She turned back, intending to help Yi Rong dress as well, only to find that in the blink of an eye, the other woman was already more neatly dressed than she was. She asked suspiciously, “How are you so fast? I was going to help you.”
“There is no need. Only my true body is trapped here; it doesn’t hinder my movements.”
Thinking of the clones, Yan Xingyu asked, “By the way, what is the difference between your clone and your true body?”
Yi Rong replied, “There is no real difference. Our senses are shared. She is me, and I am her. The clone is simply weaker in power.”
Yan Xingyu nodded in understanding. “Then you should summon a few more clones! You wouldn’t have to fear a group fight.”
Yi Rong explained, “There can only be one clone. Any more and they become like puppets with severed strings, impossible to control.”
A sudden idea struck Yan Xingyu. “So that’s how it is. Then, could I make a clone to stay here and keep you company?”
Yi Rong looked troubled. After some hesitation, she said, “Only those with exceptionally powerful spiritual or demonic energy can split a wisp of their soul to create a clone. Xingyu, with your current cultivation… you might be able to do it after another hundred years of practice.”
…Hearing this, Yan Xingyu immediately gave up. A clone? She didn’t care for one anyway, she still had her Soul Pet.
Thinking of this, she suddenly let out a startled “Ah!”
Yi Rong was taken aback and hurriedly asked, “What’s wrong?”
Yan Xingyu gave an awkward laugh. “Nothing… it’s just that I remembered someone else shares my senses. Xiao Yin.”
She winced in embarrassment and called out to Xiao Yin in her mind: “Xiao Yin, you saw everything that just happened, didn’t you?”
A moment later, a response echoed from the depths of her mind:
“Master, rest assured. I understand the concept of ‘seeing no evil’.”
