I Just Want to Spoil and Run Away with the Abused Female Lead [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 16
Shi Xingrao: “Duoduo, but Lin Yu once placed glass shards in sister’s dance studio. He even pushed her down the stairs.”
Cat Ears: “Host, these matters don’t require your intervention. In the fast-transmigration worlds, cause and effect naturally cycle on their own. There’s no need for you to take action they will receive the punishment they deserve.”
Shi Xingrao slowly lifted her gaze. “The punishment you speak of is the original plotline, isn’t it? After they schemed to take sister’s shares, they used her as a bargaining chip? They lay atop the tragedy of her marriage, and in the end, a few tears at her gravesite were enough to whitewash their sins?”
If Lu Ze was the true culprit who broke Lin Shuangran’s wings and imprisoned her in a cage, then the Lin family were his accomplices. Greedy for the benefits Lu Ze offered, they coveted the shares left to Lin Shuangran by her mother and wanted to divert all resources to support Lin Yu.
“Sister swallowed all the pain and depression herself, thinking of others and not wanting her family to worry. She was so kind, yet these people only grew more at ease.”
“Duoduo, is this the ending you wish to see?”
Cat Ears wanted to say that this time, Shi Xingrao was here she wouldn’t let Lin Shuangran meet such an end again. But as the system replayed Lin Shuangran’s records scene by scene, it found itself unable to utter a word.
Blood and stubbornness, pain and despair.
Before they arrived, Lin Shuangran had already been harmed pushed down the stairs, glass shards embedded in her flesh.
After a long silence, Cat Ears finally spoke. “But, Miss Lin wouldn’t want to see you do these things for her.”
Shi Xingrao chuckled softly. “Duoduo will help me. You’ll make sure sister doesn’t see, right?”
She stepped forward, her fingers gliding elegantly along the gilded rim of a porcelain bowl on the table. “Did Auntie choose this bowl herself? It’s truly beautiful.”
The stepmother remained silent, but the child in her arms glared with eyes burning red, charging forward to shove Shi Xingrao. In an instant, Shi Xingrao lifted the boy by the scruff of his neck and pinned him facedown against the table.
“Let me go! Get out! The Lin family belongs to me I’m in charge here! If you don’t let go, I’ll release snakes in your room to bite you dead! I’ll put glass shards in your shoes to cripple you! I’ll hide needles in your pillow to stab you to death!”
“You wicked woman, I’ll make sure you die!”
“You think I’m bluffing? Ask Lin Shuangran if I’m joking!” The boy’s laughter grew increasingly arrogant, as if his actions were something to be proud of. “You dare provoke me? Do you have a death wish?”
With one hand gripping the boy’s neck, Shi Xingrao picked up the bowl and smashed it forcefully against the table. The porcelain shattered instantly, fragments grazing the boy’s cheek.
The threatening youth fell silent at once. He struggled to maintain a fearless expression, but only his facial muscles twitched uncontrollably, eventually twisting into a mask of sheer terror.
Shi Xingrao sneered. “Duoduo, do you still believe in the natural cycle of cause and effect in this world?”
The stepmother panicked, her voice trembling. “Miss Shi, Miss Shi, please don’t! Xiao Yu is just a child. How can you take a child’s words seriously?”
Shi Xingrao lifted her eyelids slightly, her beautiful eyes filled with a cold and weary indifference. “Auntie, if you want to join in, you’re welcome to come over. I can handle both of you quite easily.”
“Sister hasn’t told you yet, has she? I’m quite good at sanda.”
Shi Xingrao picked up a shard of broken porcelain from the table. Pressing the smooth side against her palm, she gently traced the sharp edge across Lin Yu’s cheek and neck, causing him to tremble in fear.
She repeated this motion over a dozen times. Each time Lin Yu thought she was about to cut him, Shi Xingrao would pull back her hand, toying with him like a cat playing with a mouse, calm and unhurried.
No matter how despicable Lin Yu was, he was still just a child. He might have enjoyed causing trouble and finding ways to hurt others, but when his life was threatened, his first reaction was fear and terror.
Sweat poured down Lin Yu’s face. “Sister, sister, please, please let me go. I was immature before. I won’t do this again, I promise. I was wrong.”
As soon as Lin Yu finished speaking, Shi Xingrao noticed a puddle of warm yellow liquid on the floor.
She stepped back coldly, clicking her tongue in disgust.
Just as Lin Yu thought he had been spared and was experiencing a wave of relief after the ordeal, Shi Xingrao forcefully threw the porcelain shard in her hand.
“It hurts! Ah, Mom, it hurts! I’m going to die! I’m bleeding so much, I’m going to die!”
Shi Xingrao had used only a fraction of her strength, but the shard had still embedded itself about two centimeters into Lin Yu’s calf. Blood soaked through his clothes, spreading into a large stain.
She wiped her hands with a handkerchief. “Next time you think about using your tricks to bully others, you’d better remember your calf and think about the consequences you’ll face for hurting people.”
On her way home from the Lin residence, Shi Xingrao received a call from Lin Shuangran, whose voice was filled with unconcealed worry. “Raorao, you don’t have to stay at the Lin house, and you don’t need to take care of them. Come home early.”
If Shi Xingrao stayed there, Lin Shuangran could hardly imagine what Lin Yu might do at night. After what had happened that day, Lin Yu wouldn’t let Shi Xingrao off so easily.
Shi Xingrao asked, “Sister, are you worried about me?”
Lin Shuangran paused for a few seconds before replying, “Of course. If I’m not worried about you, who else would I worry about?”
A slight smile curled Shi Xingrao’s lips, her mood lifting. “Then don’t worry, sister. I’ve already left the Lin house. Can you come home early today?”
Lin Shuangran didn’t immediately agree. Shi Xingrao raised her eyes and pleaded, “Sister, sister, sister, can you come home early?”
She called out “sister” repeatedly, her tone tinged with a hint of coquettishness, making it impossible for anyone to refuse her request.
Lin Shuangran clenched her hand lightly. “I’ll come back as soon as he wakes up.”
After hanging up, Shi Xingrao leaned back in her seat. “Duoduo, did you handle the surveillance at the Lin house?”
Cat Ears was silent for a few seconds before replying, “It’s done.”
“Duoduo, see? I told you you’re kind-hearted.”
This Quick Transmigration Bureau was more humane than she had expected. Even a data-based entity like Cat Ears possessed human emotions and a basic sense of right and wrong, not just mechanically executing commands.
“But I can’t help much. The main system will definitely notice.”
Shi Xingrao opened the bedroom door, turning the handle as she asked, “Will the main system come here on its own?”
Cat Ears: “Mm, I’ll be blocked. The main system has higher authority than me. When encountering a system with higher authority, my permissions will be automatically revoked.”
Shi Xingrao lifted her eyelids slightly. “Got it.”
After an hour of sleep, Shi Xingrao didn’t wait for Lin Shuangran to return home but instead encountered the so-called main system.
It was a ball of light even larger than Cat Ears. Propping her chin on her hand, Shi Xingrao lazily raised her eyelids. “So you’re the main system?”
