I Just Want to be a Throwaway Character - Chapter 62
Chapter 62
Luo Jinqian looked at the girl who was seriously bandaging her wound, and for some reason, a warmth surged in her heart. “Thank you,” Luo Jinqian said softly.
“It’s nothing. It’s all my fault that you got hurt,” Ji Wan said, wiping her tears and feeling guilty.
“Ji Wan, close your eyes. Try to feel the healing magic of the Holy Water constitution,” Luo Bing said softly from the side. This was a good opportunity to stimulate Ji Wan’s magical potential.
“But… but Teacher Luo Bing, I can only summon small water balls,” Ji Wan said, feeling helpless. She felt like she couldn’t do healing magic.
“How will you know if you don’t try?” Luo Bing smiled gently. She lightly placed her hand on Ji Wan’s shoulder, encouraging her.
“Okay, I’ll try.” Ji Wan obediently closed her eyes and felt the healing magic that Luo Bing was talking about. Soon, a gentle energy surged in her heart. The next second, waves of blue Water element light shone around Ji Wan. Ji Wan opened her eyes and, without being taught, placed her hand on Luo Jinqian’s injured arm.
A magical scene happened. Luo Jinqian’s ugly wound quickly healed. Ji Wan’s face, however, gradually turned pale, and she broke out in a cold sweat. Soon, Luo Jinqian felt her body’s energy become full again. It was a magical feeling.
But Lu Fanghan noticed Ji Wan’s discomfort. She walked to Ji Wan’s side, supported her, and said softly, “Ji Wan, stop. Don’t transfer any more energy. It’s enough.” But Ji Wan saw that the wound was about to be completely healed. How could she give up so easily? She shook her head, didn’t say anything, and continued to circulate the elements around her.
“Ji Wan, that’s enough,” Luo Jinqian said, looking at Ji Wan’s face and feeling a little worried.
Luo Bing didn’t say anything. She just stood there and watched. Even though she was very worried about whether Ji Wan could handle it, a look of surprise appeared in her eyes. This was a constitution that only existed in legends. It could heal a wound in just a few minutes.
Seeing the wound on Luo Jinqian’s hand disappear little by little, finally turning back into a clean, fair arm, Ji Wan collapsed toward Luo Jinqian. Luo Jinqian instinctively wanted to catch Ji Wan, but Ji Wan was quickly taken into Lu Fanghan’s arms. Lu Fanghan’s eyes were very cold. She gave Luo Jinqian a warning look and then left with Ji Wan in her arms.
Looking at the girl in her arms, Lu Fanghan’s expression was incredibly ugly. Ji Wan would go to this extent for a stranger?
…
When Ji Wan woke up in the school’s infirmary, she opened her almond-shaped eyes in a daze. She immediately saw Lu Fanghan’s cold face.
“Where’s Luo Jinqian?” Ji Wan asked, supporting herself and sitting up, a little worried.
“You care about her that much?” Lu Fanghan’s expression turned cold. The first person Ji Wan thought of when she woke up was a stranger she barely knew?
Seeing Lu Fanghan’s expression was off, Ji Wan suddenly remembered that she had hugged Lu Fanghan and cried. Her face couldn’t help but turn red. Oh no, the female lead hates me now. Her face was so dark it could drip ink.
Ji Wan’s blushing, however, was misinterpreted by Lu Fanghan. Ji Wan likes Luo Jinqian. When she realized this, an inexplicable desire for destruction surged into her heart. Lu Fanghan clenched her fists in a place where Ji Wan couldn’t see, her nails digging into her flesh. A crazy thought appeared in her mind. She wanted to lock Ji Wan up, to a place only she could see. She’s going to use me and then find the next person. She has a good plan in mind. Fat chance.
“After all, she got hurt because she was trying to save me,” Ji Wan said, feeling a mysterious, bone-chilling pressure coming from Lu Fanghan and explaining softly.
“You better not try any other tricks. I don’t want you to bring shame to the Lu family,” Lu Fanghan said, tightly pinching Ji Wan’s chin, her voice frigid.
“When did I provoke Lu Fanghan? Is it that time of the month for her?” Ji Wan felt the pain in her chin and frowned as she complained to System 111. But in reality, she said, “Don’t worry. I promised you I wouldn’t have any connection with you at school. We have no other connection besides being roommates.” Ji Wan replied softly and obediently.
She thought Lu Fanghan would be happy to hear that and let go of her chin. But the pressure around Lu Fanghan became even lower. She didn’t say anything more. She turned and walked away quickly. She was worried that if she stayed any longer, she didn’t know what she would do to Ji Wan. She wished Ji Wan would stay away from her. She was a hypocritical woman who was after her family’s wealth. But when she thought about Ji Wan’s interactions with others, even just a touch, a strange feeling in her heart was screaming for her to have Ji Wan. She must have fallen into Ji Wan’s trap. Otherwise, why would she care so much about her?
Ji Wan looked at Lu Fanghan’s back, feeling confused. So what is she angry about? She’s so strange.
On the weekend, Ji Wan walked along the commercial street outside St. Lan Academy. She looked around curiously. There were magical items, fruits she had never seen before, and many other novel things. Suddenly, a flash of blue caught Ji Wan’s eye. It was Teacher Luo Bing! Ji Wan was a little happy and wanted to go up and say hello, but she saw another person holding Teacher Luo Bing’s wrist tightly. Teacher Luo Bing struggled for a moment and then seemed to give up, letting the other person pull her. Ji Wan curiously looked at the other person’s back. Her curiosity was piqued. Ji Wan followed Luo Bing like a thief. She wanted to see what kind of celestial being could capture Teacher Luo Bing’s heart.
But before Ji Wan had gone two steps, she suddenly realized she had lost them. And where was she? Ji Wan looked around at the unfamiliar environment and felt a little uneasy. She had been so focused on following Teacher Luo Bing that she hadn’t paid any attention to where she was going! Ji Wan felt a sense of despair. She was in a strange place.
“What are you doing?” a cold, unfamiliar voice came from behind her. Ji Wan turned around strangely. She was so touched. It was Luo Jinqian! She was saved. Ji Wan quickly grabbed Luo Jinqian’s clothes. “Little Jinqian, I’m lost.”
“Little… Little Jinqian?” Luo Jinqian felt her face flush a little. This was the first time in her life that someone had called her that. But it didn’t feel bad.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you back,” Luo Jinqian said, looking at the girl’s wronged expression. Luo Jinqian didn’t say anything else. She turned her head so Ji Wan couldn’t see her blushing face.
“Little One, Luo Jinqian is such a great person. I’m definitely going to be her friend,” Ji Wan said happily to System 111.
“Uh, as long as you’re happy, Host,” System 111 said. For some reason, it always felt like its host was dangerously testing the waters.
But Ji Wan hadn’t walked two steps when her stomach grumbled. Ji Wan hurriedly covered her stomach, her face flushed with embarrassment. Luo Jinqian didn’t say anything more. She continued to lead Ji Wan. Ji Wan breathed a sigh of relief. She had originally wanted to eat out, but she had gotten lost. It was so miserable.
Suddenly, Luo Jinqian stopped. Ji Wan looked at the very fancy restaurant in front of her, her expression confused. Weren’t they going back? What were they doing here?
“Let’s go. Aren’t you hungry? I’ll treat you to a meal to thank you for healing me,” Luo Jinqian said, looking at Ji Wan’s adorable expression.
“Ah! What a cutie!” Ji Wan’s mind was filled with excitement.
When Ji Wan sat down across from Luo Jinqian and looked at the table of dishes she couldn’t name, Ji Wan swallowed. “Um, Little Jinqian. Is it expensive?” Even though Ji Wan wanted to eat, she didn’t dare to touch her chopsticks.
“Eat. This restaurant is mine,” Luo Jinqian said, taking a sip of her tea. Her nonchalant expression was as if she was talking about the weather. It was a perfect display of showing off.
“Okay, I was overthinking it. Luo Jinqian and Lu Fanghan are both rich,” Ji Wan thought. She didn’t refuse anymore and obediently picked up her chopsticks and started eating. But when she saw that Luo Jinqian wasn’t eating anything and was just drinking tea, Ji Wan felt a little embarrassed. She picked up a piece of pastry and offered it to Luo Jinqian. “Eat. It’s so delicious.”
Luo Jinqian’s expression was a little stunned. She had never had anyone eat with her with the same chopsticks before. But she obediently took a bite of the pastry and smiled. “It’s good.”
“I think so too.” Ji Wan returned a brilliant smile.
Luo Jinqian looked at the girl’s naive and cute appearance with amusement. She picked up a napkin and gently reached out to wipe the food crumbs from the corner of Ji Wan’s mouth. Ji Wan was a little dazed and then smiled. “Thank you.”
“Luo Jinqian definitely considers me a good friend!” Ji Wan thought happily.
“What are you two doing?” a voice filled with a questioning tone rang out. Ji Wan was a little stunned to see Lu Fanghan suddenly appear here. Why is the female lead here?
When Lu Fanghan was dealing with some family business, she saw Ji Wan and Luo Jinqian enter this restaurant together. For some reason, she told her staff a few things and quickly followed them. She didn’t expect to see Ji Wan smiling brilliantly at someone else and to see Luo Jinqian’s intimate actions toward her. Ji Wan had never smiled at her so brilliantly before.
Ji Wan didn’t know why, but seeing the female lead’s ugly expression, she had a sense of deja vu, like she was catching someone cheating.
“Little… no, Jinqian invited me to eat,” Ji Wan quickly explained.
“What? Miss Lu, do you want to join us?” Luo Jinqian looked at the person she wanted to defeat the most, her tone flat.
“Okay.” Lu Fanghan didn’t say anything more and sat down next to Ji Wan. Ji Wan’s body stiffened. There was a third wheel, an incredibly bright lightbulb, in their two-person movie. She felt like she was ruining their little moment. It’s a sin.
“Uh, why don’t you two eat? I know how to get back. Little… no, Jinqian, I’m leaving now.” Ji Wan gave the food on the table a reluctant look. But the mission was more important. So, she decisively left the space for the female lead and her true love.
“What, you’re so eager to eat with her, but you want to run away from me?” Lu Fanghan said, her tone flat. But Ji Wan felt like she could hear a threat in her voice.
“Eat. I’ll take you back,” Luo Jinqian said, her expression soft as she looked at Ji Wan.
“No need. I’ll take her back,” Lu Fanghan said, her expression turning cold as she looked at Luo Jinqian. She has a good plan in mind. She wants to be alone with Ji Wan?
“Heh, Miss Lu. I don’t think you need to worry about Little Wan and me,” Luo Jinqian said softly, raising her teacup and looking at Lu Fanghan. Her tone, however, was clearly separating Ji Wan from Lu Fanghan. Their gazes seemed to create sparks in the air.
“Little Wan?” Lu Fanghan glanced at Ji Wan next to her, her eyes darkening. “Heh, you two are so close.” This questioning tone made Ji Wan feel a bone-chilling cold in the middle of summer.
Ji Wan saw that the atmosphere was turning strange. What’s going on? They were supposed to be the female lead and her true love. Could they be a couple that loves to argue? Is the female lead jealous? Why is this turning into a battlefield? It’s not like I’m going to steal her women. She was such a jealous person.
