I Heard That I am a HeartBreaker - Chapter 16
Qiu Shuang looked at the new president for a moment, then shifted her gaze. Nothing special, it was just that girls with short hair were quite rare.
People always carried a certain prejudice or preconception towards girls with short hair.
For instance, they might assume that short-haired girls were all lesbians, though of course, there were also tomboy types among them.
However, in both female and male groups, short-haired girls indeed received different treatment.
Gu Lingxi was tall and had a clean, short haircut. At first glance, she looked like an overly slender boy, but upon closer inspection, you could tell she was a girl.
Feeling a gaze fixed on her, Gu Lingxi looked towards Qiu Shuang in the crowd.
“She’s quite fair-skinned.”
This was Gu Lingxi’s first impression of Qiu Shuang. The girl next to Qiu Shuang nudged her.
“Is ‘he’ a boy or a girl?”
“A girl.”
“Ah, really…?”
Hearing the disbelief from the girl next to her, Qiu Shuang nodded indifferently, confirming once more the person’s female identity.
Qiu Shuang felt that she was quite good at instantly identifying gender and sexual orientation.
Gu Lingxi looked at everyone’s nervousness and sighed.
“Hello everyone, let me introduce myself. I am your new club president. Your previous president has formally stepped down due to an internship, and I was assigned here by the Student Union. Everyone, please don’t worry, the previous rules will continue to be followed, but there will be a few more club activities than before, I hope you can understand.”
“Also, I need to get to know all of you. I hope you can organize yourselves into groups and designate a group leader to liaise with me individually. This is to ensure that everyone can be precisely notified and that no one misses any activity.”
Hearing Gu Lingxi say this, everyone put on a fake smile, but what they were actually thinking was unknown. Qiu Shuang thought this part wouldn’t involve her, but then she was pushed to the front.
“Hello President, this is Qiu Shuang, the leader of our group.”
Qiu Shuang turned back in surprise to look at the unfamiliar girl next to her.
- Huh? When did she become a group leader?
- Moreover, she didn’t even know the person!
- She had barely attended any club activities and hadn’t even recognized faces, so how did she suddenly become their group leader?
Qiu Shuang didn’t know that she was actually quite popular in school, or at least popular among her year, because not everyone dared to officially announce or publicize their relationship and sexual orientation.
After all, in the public eye, some things should be hidden or kept overly silent.
Qiu Shuang was unaware that her being a lesbian had been spread around, or perhaps it didn’t matter if it spread, as at least it might reduce some of the disturbances from boys.
Fortunately, the city and the young people she interacted with were quite tolerant, and society was changing.
People’s views on homosexuality were generally not as terrifying as before.
Furthermore, everyone’s life was actually very busy; everyone was the protagonist of their own story. How you live, what you do, and who you are has nothing to do with anyone else.
Gu Lingxi looked at Qiu Shuang, who was clearly forced out, and smiled. She then added her on WeChat.
After the meeting, Gu Lingxi was walking back when she met her friend, or perhaps her ‘kind’?
The girl who came looking for her patted her on the shoulder with a sly smile.
“Nice, you work fast.”
“What do you mean?”
Gu Lingxi found the other person’s attitude very strange. The friend then briefly explained the “spectacular feat” of Qiu Shuang. The moment she heard that Qiu Shuang was a lesbian, Gu Lingxi showed no reaction.
Gu Lingxi was a “homosexual” herself. Whether her same-sex attraction was focused or serious was another matter.
At least from her perspective, when she had long flowing hair, she was a regular girl, but after she cut her hair, she became the subject of admiration for her “handsomeness” among the girls.
Gu Lingxi wasn’t actually sure if she liked women, or if she was repulsed, but on some level, she felt that being with girls wasn’t impossible; she had tried it before.
Thinking of this, Gu Lingxi thought back to Qiu Shuang.
The other person was very pretty, and looked gentle. Being with her didn’t seem entirely unacceptable, did it?
At this moment, Qiu Shuang, who was worried about her future club life, didn’t know that someone else had set their sights on her. Just as she was walking out, a voice called out to her.
“Senior, Senior, wait for me!”
A very cute girl with shoulder-length hair ran towards her. Qiu Shuang swore she didn’t recognize her and had no interactions with her.
However, her face looked familiar; she was probably a freshman who had recently joined the club.
“Hello, may I ask what you need?”
Qiu Shuang looked at the girl with confusion, and the girl in front of her simply stated her purpose.
“Hello Senior, I’m Xin Zhu, a freshman from the School of Economics and Management. Sometimes, we have public lectures together. I… would like to have your contact information.”
“I’m just the group leader for the club, responsible for relaying tasks, and we are not in the same group. What are you trying to do?”
Qiu Shuang looked at the girl, confused, trying to find her real reason. Could she be trying to trick her into going to Myanmar to have her organs harvested?
Qiu Shuang shook her head. She wasn’t rich enough to be flattered, nor were they in the same major, so there was no need to cozy up to her for study notes.
“It’s like this. I only just learned about the matter concerning Senior. I don’t know what your first impression of me is, but I also only like girls, just like you… So, I wanted to add your contact information and see how we get along…”
The girl said a lot, and Qiu Shuang generally understood: her being a lesbian had been discovered by this younger student, and this younger student was also a lesbian who was eager to find a partner, so she sought out Qiu Shuang and hoped to start a relationship with her.
Are young people this direct and bold now?
Qiu Shuang shook her head and prepared to leave, but the other person blocked her way again, putting her hands together in a pleading gesture.
“Please, Senior, even if we can’t be together, being friends is fine! Having one more friend opens up one more path, and it’s also very hard for me to find people like us. Senior, can’t you just treat me as a friend and exchange contact information between friends…”
Qiu Shuang sighed, and finally gave her contact information to the girl, because if she didn’t give it this time, she estimated that this scene would be repeated every time she walked back to her dorm from the club.
So annoying…
After Qiu Shuang gave her contact information, the other person got what she wanted and happily walked away. Qiu Shuang felt like she could imagine a fast-wagging puppy tail on the girl.
She sighed and turned to leave, failing to see the angry person leaning against a tree not far away.
Qi Sijiao watched that short-haired person inexplicably go up to disturb her senior, engage in a conversation she couldn’t hear, and then the senior even took out her phone and let the person scan her code!
Why!
Watching the person walk away happily, like a beggar who had received alms.
Qi Sijiao understood perfectly; she knew her senior would always attract these disgusting flies.
Hmph, this damn woman from who knows what major dares to dance right in front of her senior.
“Wait until I find you, I’ll show you what’s what!”
Qiu Shuang was unaware that a “historical battle” might be brewing among her secret admirers. When she returned to the dorm and saw the adjacent bed was empty, she felt relieved—indeed, going out for exercise was the other person’s usual routine.
“Hmm… I’ll take a shower.”
After a thought, Qiu Shuang grabbed her basket and left. When Qi Sijiao returned to the dorm, she saw an empty room. After looking around and noticing a few things missing from Qiu Shuang’s desk, she confirmed the senior was showering, and then sat on her bed, quietly waiting.
About half an hour later, Qiu Shuang returned. Qi Sijiao found it hard to look away as the senior’s hair tips were still slightly damp, and she was wearing the simplest T-shirt and shorts.
Senior’s legs are really pale and look smooth.
Perhaps because she had just showered, Qiu Shuang’s skin showed a hint of moisture/dewiness, and being fair-skinned to begin with, she looked even radiant/tempting.
“You’re back.”
For some reason, hearing this simple greeting, Qi Sijiao could almost imagine her cute wife saying such words while waiting for her at home after work, perhaps even making dinner for her…
Oh, how truly blissful.
“Yes, I went out for a walk.”
“Young people should go out and walk more.”
(And stop bothering me in the room.)
After exchanging a few pleasantries, Qiu Shuang started tidying her things. Qi Sijiao pondered for a moment, seemingly thinking about how to strike up a conversation and indirectly ask the question she most wanted answered.
“Senior, you’ve been very busy lately.”
“Yes, the club recently got a new president, and there might be a lot of activities to attend in the future, but it’s nothing major; it’s for course credits, after all. Your club must be busy too.”
Qi Sijiao had joined the Basketball Club. As an avid basketball enthusiast, club activities were effortless for her. She blinked, shifting the topic.
“It is indeed busy. I saw a short-haired girl talking to you from the window just now. Was that a new task for the club? If you’re too busy, Senior, you can ask me for help. I’ve already finished all my club matters.”
“But, to chase after the Senior directly like that, that classmate really has no sense of propriety.”
