I Heard That I am a HeartBreaker - Chapter 100
Gu Lingxi knocked on the door, but she didn’t expect to see another old acquaintance first. Seeing Tang Yulin appearing in her sister’s room, Gu Lingxi felt a wave of confusion.
To be honest, her relationship with Tang Yulin was quite good; after all, one wouldn’t take on the task of watching over someone else’s clothes if they weren’t on good terms.
Gu Lingxi’s impression of Tang Yulin was that of a very sincere and hardworking person. However, what kind of relationship did she have with her sister?
Did their company need people specialized in dance? Were they hiring dance majors? Was there some new position she didn’t know about?
Tang Yulin fell into silence upon seeing Gu Lingxi. She didn’t know what to say. Since the other party was her friend, she couldn’t exactly say, “Hello, I’m dating your sister now.”
After thinking it over, she remained silent. Tang Yulin personally felt that her relationship with the other woman couldn’t exactly be called “dating”; it was more of an exchange of interests.
Recently, Gu Su felt that her mood was quite excellent. With her younger sister taking over the company affairs, she could finally breathe a sigh of relief, and it happened to coincide with a period of transition.
Although their first encounter had been somewhat unpleasant, once the terms were settled, the other party seemed to accept it calmly. Regarding this point, Gu Su refused to admit to everyone that she had essentially secured the relationship by throwing money at it.
Besides, what was wrong with spending money? Gu Su had her own logic: even if the other person only loved her money or the benefits she provided, so what?
She just happened to have those things. The other person simply liked her “fine qualities” and wasn’t asking for her life, so it wasn’t a big deal.
As for whether Tang Yulin actually liked women, Gu Su felt that was outside the scope of consideration. Before she met Tang Yulin, Gu Su hadn’t thought she would like women either.
Gu Su felt she was a genius.
Gu Lingxi felt something was off, but she didn’t dwell on it too much. She simply asked where her sister was.
Tang Yulin turned to leave. As she did, Gu Lingxi frowned at the sight of the woman’s snowy-white neck. If she wasn’t mistaken, there was a bite mark on her neck, wasn’t there?
In her mind, Gu Lingxi weighed two options: either her good friend was in a relationship, or her good friend was in a relationship with her sister. She chose to believe her friend was dating someone else.
When Gu Su saw her sister arrive, she was slightly surprised but didn’t try to hide anything. In her eyes, she was a grown adult and wasn’t breaking any laws, so what if she was in a relationship?
Even if people found out, so what? Tang Yulin, however, felt awkward and found an excuse to avoid them and leave. Gu Lingxi stared at the marks on the back of Tang Yulin’s neck as she left, feeling increasingly uneasy the more she thought about it.
“Why are you frowning like that? Is there a problem at the company? If that’s why you came to find me, speak up quickly and don’t waste my time.”
Gu Lingxi looked at her “damned” sister and scowled. After briefly explaining the recent business operations and project developments, she finally turned to the question she most wanted to ask.
“Is Tang Yulin in a relationship? When I saw her just now, there were marks on her.”
Upon hearing those words, Gu Su couldn’t help but feel a momentary pang of guilt. Were there marks? To be honest, she hadn’t noticed. For the first time in her life, Gu Su discovered she had a bit of a “deviant” streak.
She had heard the other woman crying and simply couldn’t help herself, so she had been a little bit excessive.
The price for that was spending a long time coaxing her back to a good mood. But having her sister point it out made it feel, frankly, a bit over the top.
“Well, you have to understand, I have needs and work pressure too.”
Hearing her say this, Gu Lingxi naturally understood what was going on. She looked at her sister in total shock and then began to rethink her friend.
Honestly, she had never imagined these two were “that way.” After all, they had never seemed like it when they hung out. Could it be that there were some unspeakable stories between them?
Especially considering her sister’s personality and her friend’s impoverished background, Gu Lingxi knew very well that her sister, like herself, wasn’t exactly a saint.
She correctly guessed that in this pairing, her sister most likely hadn’t done anything honorable to make it happen.
“She and I are good friends. Tang Yulin has had a very difficult journey to get where she is. I think you should show some conscience. Regardless of what feelings you have for her, I hope you don’t ruin her. She really hasn’t had it easy.”
As Gu Lingxi spoke, she felt quite noble. Who would have thought? The notoriously fickle Gu Lingxi was actually speaking like a decent human being.
“Listen to you. Do you think I’m a bastard like you? Always tricking people? Things between us are very clearly defined. Even if we break up later, I will give her plenty of money. Besides, I’m very happy right now, and she doesn’t want to break up either. Getting married in the future wouldn’t be a problem.”
Gu Lingxi looked at her seriously. She was thinking to herself: her sister usually called her narcissistic, but it seemed narcissism was a hereditary trait in their family.
“I think… she probably doesn’t want to marry you…”
Hearing her sister say this, Gu Su fell silent. In a way, they were remarkably consistent in wishing the worst for each other.
“Heh.”
Tang Yulin didn’t know which of the two was more of a “decent human.” If this kept up, she was truly going to suffer from exhaustion…
Gu Lingxi saw her sister’s “unrepentant” attitude and knew she had no intention of changing. As a sister who was currently trying to steal someone from her own cousin, she could only smile and say nothing more.
“Regardless, don’t let her down.”
Gu Su glanced at her flirtatious sister. This girl had been so cold-hearted toward those young women she dated before, yet now she was acting this way because of her friend. Hmph, what a double standard.
“Don’t worry. I’m not like you. In my life, besides my career, there isn’t much room for romance.”
Tang Yulin, who had already returned to the inner room, waited for a while and realized Gu Su hadn’t come back. She cracked the door and poked her head out to see what they were doing.
Seeing the two of them looking so serious, Tang Yulin didn’t say anything. Regardless, her only job was to play along with this so-called “overbearing president” romance with Gu Su.
Tang Yulin didn’t know how to describe her feelings. Simply put, it was a strange sensation. Her idol was now with her? It was a mix of her “house collapsing” (disillusionment) and being overjoyed.
Gu Su was in no mood to bicker with her sister. She knew her sister was in a bad mood; after all, if she were in that position and found out her crush had a “main partner,” she would be upset too.
But she wasn’t too worried about her. Knowing her sister, she would probably shamelessly try to undermine the relationship anyway.
“No need to tell me about you and your junior. With your flimsy sense of morality, the fact that you haven’t tried to steal Xin Zhu away yet is a literal miracle.”
Gu Lingxi heard her sister dismiss her heartbreak and, seeing her sister’s beaming face, nearly ground her teeth to dust. She understood clearly now: her sister was just trying to find a way to kick her out.
“Fine, fine, fine. I’m leaving. I won’t get in the way of your world for two.”
Tang Yulin breathed a sigh of relief as she saw Gu Lingxi leave. But in the next second, a buzzing vibration rang out, and her back muscles tensed up instantly.
She looked up and saw Gu Su smiling as she pulled a remote control from her pocket and shook it at her.
“It’s okay. She’s gone. Let’s continue.”
“I’m really going to die of exhaustion…”
Gu Su felt a great sense of gratitude toward 21st-century human ingenuity and technological development, approaching it with a strong spirit of academic inquiry. However, she wasn’t so perverse as to show such things to others.
To that end, she had brushed up on a lot of “classic literature” and discovered some highly challenging and bold ways to play, extracting the “essence” of those ideas.
One could say Gu Su’s behavior toward Tang Yulin was predatory. She wasn’t blatant about it, keeping these small matters strictly in their private space, which made it somewhat acceptable—though truth be told, she played quite “dirty.”
“Why do you look so nervous and confused? Did you want me to use this remote while a third party was present?”
Gu Su felt her possessiveness was quite strong. She wasn’t so far gone as to enjoy being watched by others. While it sounded “stimulating” in theory, she didn’t think it would be fun at all.
“I never play with ‘multiple people’ or any of that useless stuff, so don’t worry. And if I’m not mistaken, you have some feelings for me too, don’t you?”
Gu Su didn’t consider herself a total deviant. The first time she and Tang Yulin were intimate, she noticed the other woman only froze and didn’t push her away; that was when she knew she had succeeded.
Honestly, thinking about it now, Gu Su felt a bit guilty. It was a good thing she was just a businesswoman; if she were an idol, she’d probably be reported to the authorities overnight.
“Tang Yulin, do you think this counts as ‘sleeping with a fan’?”
Tang Yulin bit her lip, her head tilted back. Gu Su gazed at her neck and the faint marks she had left on that snowy skin.
Gu Su reminded herself to be careful. Since Tang Yulin had to record a dance video soon, she shouldn’t leave any more marks; otherwise, using concealer would be bad for her skin.
“I’m really starting to like you more and more…”
Tang Yulin closed her eyes, temporarily accepting the fact that the person she admired was a bit of a freak…
As Gu Lingxi walked away, she felt extremely annoyed. Just as she was about to turn back, a special notification sound rang from her phone. When she saw that familiar yet distant name sending her a message, she was shocked.
Zhang Heming: I’m planning to come back.
Gu Lingxi stared at the name she had almost forgotten and clenched her fists. Of course she remembered her; she was her best friend. Back then, she, her sister, and Zhang Heming were so close they practically wanted to become sworn brothers.
They were the best friends in the world. But the main reason for her reaction was Gu Lingxi’s deep dissatisfaction with the Zhang family’s actions.
Zhang Heming was a lesbian, and it was common knowledge in high society. After all, she was the only one who had dared to openly declare her sexual orientation. The price she paid was being virtually abandoned by her family.
Gu Lingxi remembered how carefree the other woman had been when she left. They had almost completely lost contact. Perhaps not wanting to be entangled with her past life, Zhang Heming had never sent them a single message after she moved away.
