I Heard I’m a Scummy Alpha? [Transmigration] - Chapter 95
When the mist cleared from Cloudfall Slope, only Qi Yunwei and Yan Zui remained.
Yan Zui raised her hand and made a graceful gesture. In an instant, her form returned to its true appearance—her coarse linen robe transformed into the luminous silk robes of an immortal, her long hair cascading like a waterfall now swept into a delicate bun adorned with ornate hairpins. As she moved, the ruby-studded pendants hanging from her headdress swayed softly, glinting like ripples of firelight.
Qi Yunwei’s gaze traced every inch of her from head to toe. The longer she looked, the luckier she felt—this breathtakingly beautiful immortal was her wife.
Yan Zui felt her cheeks flush slightly under that heated gaze. She walked toward Qi Yunwei and asked with a smile, “Aren’t you busy lately? How do you even have time to play games?”
To ensure player safety and prevent harassment, the game prohibited any real physical contact. The closest two players could approach was ten centimeters apart; even weapons were blocked one centimeter before touching another player’s body by a protective barrier.
Qi Yunwei strolled alongside Yan Zui through the cloudy landscape, the white, billowy clouds hanging so low they looked close enough to touch. “Most of the bugs are fixed now,” she said. “I brought Baizhi and the others in to experience the game we built for themselves.”
Yan Zui tilted her head slightly, the dangling ornaments on her hairpin swaying in the air. “How did you know I was here?”
Qi Yunwei’s gaze lingered on the glimmering jewels, her heart swaying with them. Blinking back a daze, she smiled playfully. “Why don’t you guess?”
Yan Zui replied, “If it’s not through the Xiandu Spring’s projection, then it’s through Xiao Jiu.”
Qi Yunwei chuckled. “Wow. For you, that question’s way too easy.”
They found a scenic spot and sat down to chat. Qi Yunwei said thoughtfully, “If I remember correctly, your disguise spell only lasts two hours per day, and once it’s dispelled, it can’t be restored. I have a bad feeling—besides Xuan Mingzhu and Xuan Baiquan, once people like Qin Lifeng, Qi Fanghuai, and Liang Kejue see the game promo and realize you’re in it, they’ll probably rush to grab beta access too.”
Yan Zui lifted her chin slightly, a cold gleam flickering in her eyes. “Let them come. In this world, no one can harm me.”
Qi Yunwei suddenly had the urge to touch her face—but alas, the game system wouldn’t allow it.
The two ventured off to a quiet, less-populated area to battle monsters and level up. Yan Zui’s skills could restore stamina, saving Qi Yunwei the hassle of teleporting back to the village for rest.
While other players dared not stray far due to stamina limits, the two of them fought for nearly two hours straight, and Qi Yunwei had already reached level fifteen.
“Let’s continue tomorrow. I need to catch my breath,” Qi Yunwei said, slightly short of breath.
Yan Zui nodded. “Casting spells takes a lot of stamina. Is there any way for my mana or physical strength to increase?”
“Of course,” Qi Yunwei explained. “Even immortals start as mortals. Their powers may be greater, but their skills still depend on their physical and mental foundation. Casting spells requires coordination between the mind and body—it’s far more demanding than ordinary attacks. The more you practice, the stronger you’ll become. Training, in essence, is endless; becoming immortal is only a milestone, not the end. If immortals stop cultivating, their bodies will eventually degenerate back to mortal form.”
Then her lips curved in mischief. “So, will you play with me again tomorrow?”
Yan Zui, who had been listening attentively, blinked in surprise at the sudden shift in tone. “You gave such a long lecture just to convince me to play games with you every day?”
Qi Yunwei straightened with mock seriousness. “It’s boring playing alone. Wouldn’t it be better with me by your side?”
Yan Zui gave a helpless little laugh. “It’s nice, actually.”
Though the immortal could teleport and soar anywhere she pleased, Qi Yunwei was still in her beginner phase, slowing Yan Zui’s plans to explore freely. She felt torn—wanting to play alongside her, yet not wanting to admit it.
It really was more fun together. If only Qi Yunwei were an immortal too.
But that could only happen later in the storyline; no mortal could ascend during the beta phase.
Qi Yunwei reached out and patted her head gently. “I’m just teasing. I don’t have that much time to play. You don’t have to babysit me—enjoy your freedom now that you’re no longer bound by your Omega identity.”
Yan Zui’s eyes flickered. “Wait, did you create this dual-gender system because of me?”
Qi Yunwei paused, then admitted, “Partly, yes.”
In truth, Yan Zui was the main reason. If she hadn’t been born Omega—if those men hadn’t been born Alpha and sheltered by the law—she wouldn’t have suffered so much in that cursed novel.
“Yunwei, it’s getting late,” Yan Zui said softly. “You should log off.”
Qi Yunwei glanced at the time. It was already past four. “Alright.”
She opened the menu and selected “log out in place.” The world went dark for a second before she opened her eyes again. The glass door before her slid open, the device at her temples detached, and she stepped out from the nutrient pod.
In the adjacent pod, Yan Zui was still seated. Qi Yunwei walked over and offered her hand. Yan Zui took it gently, and Qi Yunwei gave a tug to help her up—but after hours of in-game exertion, her arms and legs were weak and sore.
Instead of pulling Yan Zui up, she lost balance and stumbled forward.
Fortunately, her palm braced against the edge of the pod in time—otherwise, she would’ve crashed right into her wife.
But her strength gave out after two seconds, and she ended up collapsing onto Yan Zui anyway.
Qi Yunwei: “…”
Once again, embarrassing herself in front of her wife.
They’d played for nearly five hours straight, almost without rest—constantly walking or fighting monsters. No wonder she’d gone weak and fallen right into Yan Zui’s arms again.
“Are you alright?” Yan Zui asked, concerned, as Qi Yunwei didn’t move.
Face buried against Yan Zui’s shoulder, Qi Yunwei mumbled, “Aside from my pride, I’m fine. I didn’t crush you, did I?”
Yan Zui’s lips curved faintly. “You didn’t.”
As she spoke, she slipped an arm around Qi Yunwei’s waist.
The warmth of her touch sent tingles racing up Qi Yunwei’s spine, making her ears flush red. She murmured softly, “What’s wrong?”
Yan Zui’s voice was tender, almost sulky. “Nothing, I just wanted to hold you. In the game, I tried, but I couldn’t.”
Hearing that gentle complaint melted Qi Yunwei’s heart. “Then I’ll tweak the settings later,” she said, smiling. “I’ll make it so you can hug me in the game. How’s that?”
Yan Zui hesitated. “Can we? Wouldn’t that look bad if people saw?”
Qi Yunwei whispered conspiratorially, “We’ll just find a quiet spot where no one can see us.”
Yan Zui finally let go, though a little reluctantly. They both stepped out of the pods. Qi Yunwei glanced back at the chamber and chuckled. “Shame it’s so small.”
Yan Zui, already thinking of something unspeakable, immediately caught her meaning. Her face burned. “This is the office.”
Qi Yunwei laughed, slipping an arm around her waist and lowering her voice near her ear. “That just makes it more exciting. Want to try?”
Yan Zui’s fingers tightened around Qi Yunwei’s shirt. Qi Yunwei brushed back the loose curls at her temple, revealing her flushed ear.
When Yan Zui stayed quiet for a while, Qi Yunwei thought she might be upset. But then she saw the red blush spread from her ear to her cheeks. Yan Zui’s gaze had gone unfocused, lost in thought.
“Yan Zui?” Qi Yunwei called softly.
Yan Zui flinched slightly, eyes lifting in a daze. Mist shimmered in her dark irises as her teeth gently bit her lower lip. Her voice was a whisper, shy and tremulous. “We can.”
Qi Yunwei blinked. “Can what?”
Yan Zui’s long lashes trembled. “We can try it tonight. Here, in the office.”
Qi Yunwei’s arms tightened instinctively, her heartbeat quickening until it thundered in her chest, her body growing warm.
When the end of the workday came, the employees of Yunmengze noticed something strange—their boss, who always clocked out early, hadn’t left yet.
No one dared go home while the boss was still around.
They sent Wu Baizhi to check.
When he entered the office, he saw Qi Yunwei seated behind her desk reviewing files, while Yan Zui sat on the sofa, scrolling through her phone.
Though the two sat far apart, Wu Baizhi—an unattached Alpha—could still feel the charged atmosphere between them, like an invisible thread pulling them constantly toward each other.
His face grew inexplicably warm.
He pinched himself back to composure and asked dutifully, “Boss, everyone wanted to know when you’ll be heading out.”
Qi Yunwei glanced toward Yan Zui. That one glance, full of quiet tenderness, made Wu Baizhi’s cheeks burn all over again.
“I still have some work,” Qi Yunwei said absently. “You all go ahead.”
“Is it a game issue, Boss?” Wu Baizhi offered. “I can stay and help.”
“No need,” Qi Yunwei interrupted with a soft smile. “I can handle it myself.”
Her tone was gentle, her smile warm—but for some reason, Wu Baizhi felt a very clear, polite ‘please leave now’ radiating from her.
“Just tell everyone to go home. You’ve all worked hard lately—I’ll arrange a rotation break soon.”
“Yes, Boss.”
After delivering the message, Wu Baizhi returned to the team. The moment they heard they could clock out, the office erupted with cheers of “Long live the boss!”
Soon, the employees packed up and left, leaving the entire building in silence.
As darkness fell, the lights in the office automatically flicked on. Qi Yunwei reached over and switched them off again. The room was bathed in silver moonlight, soft and cold, pooling across the desk like frost.
Yan Zui crossed the floor toward her. Qi Yunwei took her hand, and Yan Zui, almost instinctively, straddled her lap.
In the dark, Qi Yunwei cupped her face and kissed her. The kiss began soft and weightless, but soon her fingers slipped through Yan Zui’s long hair, tracing down to the back of her neck, deepening the kiss with slow, lingering heat.
