I Got Together with the Scum Gong’s White Moonlight - Chapter 2
Gu Ming arrived very early as well, and as was her routine, she brought her breakfast. From being overwhelmed by the unexpected favor at the very beginning to still feeling deeply grateful now, she did not know how many times her eyes had quietly turned red.
Yan Ling habitually loved to manipulate and control her, turning her into her pet; everything about her had to be within Yan Ling’s grasp. Her falling in love with Gu Ming was undoubtedly an unpardonable sin in Yan Ling’s eyes. To punish her, Yan Ling cut off her financial supply. If Yan Ling was in a good mood, she might give her a little money; if she was in a bad mood, let alone having to starve on an empty stomach, even going out required relying on her own two legs.
Yan Ling liked Gu Ming and adored Gu Ming; she had known this long ago. When Yan Ling had come to her door saying she wanted to keep her as a mistress, she had explicitly stated that she wanted her to be Gu Ming’s substitute.
In the end, she had been possessed by a ghost, and she also yearned too much for this glamorous and dazzling world. Unable to distinguish whether it was voluntary or forced by tyrannical abuse, she agreed. She moved from the dark, damp, and airtight basement into this penthouse flat that had an open view, occupied a vast area, and looked entirely luxurious as far as the eye could see.
It was also in this house that she met Gu Ming for the first time.
The Gu Ming who bore an eighty percent resemblance to her.
It was no wonder that Yan Ling had come to her door the very first moment she saw her.
They were really so alike, especially the eyes. Those who did not know the truth might really mistake them for the same person.
It was only a pity that their first meeting was not decent.
She could be described as in a wretched state.
But Gu Ming truly deserved to be the woman they both pinned their thoughts on. Even though it was their first meeting, and even though she knew that she had debuted by piggybacking on her popularity and had stepped on her countless times, when she discovered that she had fainted from low blood sugar, she still kindly shared a piece of chocolate with her.
Only later did she find out that this was a little secret belonging exclusively to the two of them. No one knew that Gu Ming liked to eat chocolate, including Yan Ling, who claimed to love her as much as her own life.
Gu Ming took a seat on her left.
She originally should not have appeared here; she had a dedicated dressing room.
“Isn’t it because I saw my younger sister here? I can’t just abandon my sister all by herself. Besides, I brought two portions of breakfast. You probably haven’t eaten yet, right?”
Gu Ming shook the thermos flask in her hand.
She pursed her lips into a smile and shook her head as she always did.
Even if she had eaten, she would say she hadn’t, let alone the fact that she indeed hadn’t eaten.
Having had such a massive conflict with Yan Ling last night, being allowed to have the assistant Qiu Yuan give her a ride was already an exceptional grace; how could they possibly still remember to let her eat.
It was just that today she was somewhat unable to enjoy Gu Ming’s kindness. The abdomen that had been kicked and injured stimulated her and reminded her with pain every single moment; she could not swallow food.
But this was hand-made by Gu Ming, made for her. She was truly unwilling to part with it, so she could only desperately endure the discomfort and eat slowly and with great difficulty.
“If you can’t eat, don’t force it.” Gu Ming noticed. Her hand tightened, and she hurriedly quickened her speed: “No, it’s very delicious, I happen to be hungry…”
Regrettably, her body did not cooperate. As she was eating, she threw everything up, mixed with streaks of blood.
She saw Gu Ming’s face darken, and her heart filled with panic and dismay. She struggled, wanting to eat back what she had vomited, but she was scooped up sideways into a princess carry by Gu Ming.
She gave her no opportunity to speak. While carrying her and walking outside, she calmly instructed her assistant to notify the advertiser that today’s shooting would be postponed.
She really wanted to say that she was fine and there was no need, but in the end, she craved the warmth of the concern Gu Ming gave her. She silently buried her head into Gu Ming’s embrace.
Entering the hospital and undergoing a quick examination, it was no surprise that Gu Ming found out about the injuries on her body. Watching her walk in with a dark face, her continuously pursed lips hesitating, for some unknown reason, she felt a little like laughing, so she started laughing.
Gu Ming looked at her reproachfully: “You can still laugh. It is inconvenient for me to ask you what happened, but if you need help, feel free to look for me.”
How could she look for her? Say that she was kept as a mistress by her adorer? She felt ashamed of herself even thinking about this, so how could she possibly say it out loud.
Seeing Gu Yan remain silent, Gu Ming exhaled a breath of depressed air imperceptibly. She pulled a piece of chocolate out of her pocket and began to bite into it with a slight sense of venting anger, making a cracking sound.
“Your internal organs are bleeding, and the injury is a bit serious. You can only eat liquid food these few days. You must be hungry. Wait a little longer, Yao Yi will be back with food shortly.”
Actually, it was fine. It hurt so much that she could not even feel hunger, but not wanting to let down Gu Ming’s good intentions, she still nodded her head and said okay.
“As for today’s shoot, I have already communicated with that side. They agreed to wait until your injury is healed before continuing.”
She had even done the part that belonged to her manager…
“I am sorry, I have troubled you.”
A burst of force suddenly added onto her head, and her crown was rubbed displeasurably by Gu Ming.
“We are sisters after all, there’s no need to be so distant with me, right? Next time you are polite again, be careful or I will… bully you.” Gu Ming kindly changed the word ‘beat’.
She intentionally shrank back a bit to indicate she was scared. Only when she saw Gu Ming draw back her hand with satisfaction did she quietly purse her lips.
Only at this kind of time would she increasingly feel grateful and fortunate that she and Gu Ming looked similar. If it were not for the sake of this face, could she and Gu Ming have become “sisters”? Could she possibly treat her this way?
Yao Yi returned very quickly, carrying a multi-layered thermos flask. Because she did not know her taste, she brought several kinds of porridge.
However, she was not a picky eater and any flavor would do. Gu Ming asked her to pick one, so she chose the vegetable porridge on the first layer because it was closest, intending to bring it over and eat it herself, but she was anticipated by Gu Ming.
She wanted to feed her.
Although she was not injured to the point where her hands could not move, she could not reject any action where Gu Ming was good to her. Harboring a secret joy, she pushed back tokenistically, and under Gu Ming’s gentle and considerate feeding, she ate up the entire bowl bite by bite.
The consequence was that she was uncomfortably stuffed and swollen with pain. After Gu Ming had matters to attend to and had to leave, she rushed to the toilet and vomited everything clean.
It brought out a little bit of blood streaks again.
But she felt fortunate that Gu Ming had already left and did not see it; she did not want to see Gu Ming blame herself.
Blame herself for someone as terrible as her.
After all, she definitely would not want to know why she became injured like this.
Before she could detach herself from the state of discomfort, a burst of rapid footsteps suddenly came from behind. The high heels clicked heavily on the ceramic tiles, deafening to the ears, and her heart suspended all at once.
Simultaneously, her hair was also grabbed forcefully from behind by someone. She was forced to tilt her head back, and as expected, she saw a face full of rage belonging to Yan Ling.
She had come fast enough.
Almost subconsciously, Yan Ling slapped her right across the face.
She rarely touched her face, but that did not mean she never touched it.
“Gu Yan, oh Gu Yan, I have still given you too much face, haven’t I? You have even gone to play the pity card right in front of Gu Ming, since when did you become so good at playing?”
“Did I not warn you that you are not allowed to harbor designs on her? You treat my words as a passing wind, don’t you? Do you truly believe that apart from you, I can never find another substitute?!”
Yan Ling’s strength was extraordinarily large; just one slap broke the corner of her mouth. Being held by her hair and lifting her head to face those eyes bursting with anger, she ought to have been afraid, but seeing this appearance of her losing her temper powerlessly and bursting with jealousy, she could not help but feel delighted, could not help but want to laugh.
“Yan Ling, you are so pitiful.”
“I have never seen a person pitiful and pathetic to this extent of yours.”
Yan Ling tightened her hand that was grabbing her hair all at once; there was an illusion that her scalp was about to be torn off. But very quickly, she calmed down again, laughing instead out of extreme anger.
“No, Gu Yan, that is because you haven’t seen yourself.”
As she spoke, she lifted her up and pressed her against the mirror, forcing her maliciously and cruelly to see herself clearly.
“Gu Yan, the one who is even more pitiful and pathetic is you. If Gu Ming knew what this face of yours was used for, tell me, would she still be able to treat you well?”
