- Chapter 107 - The Metaphysical Master’s Fiancée Part XXIV
The two of them officially held a grand wedding.
On the day following their revelry in the City of Never-Ending Night, their formal wedding ceremony took place.
That morning, the sky had originally been overcast and gloomy. However, by noon, the sun suddenly broke through the clouds, bathing the world in a brilliant, shimmering white light. This was a highly unusual occurrence for early spring, a season when Yang energy has only just begun to recover.
“Master Luo is getting married, and it seems even the Heavens are rushing to offer a wedding gift. This weather today is truly spectacular,” remarked the guests who had been invited to the wedding scene.
“Indeed, even the Heavens are showing respect,” Lin Jing said. “I saw the overcast sky this morning and worried it might rain. I never expected the sunlight to be this intense; it makes one’s heart feel warm and bright.”
“I think even the sun was so shocked its eyes nearly popped out—it simply had to come down to the human realm for a closer look at how an ‘iron tree’ like Luo Shuyu finally managed to bloom.”
The crowd erupted into laughter. Having known Luo Shuyu to be solitary for so many years, no one had expected her to successfully marry during the prime of her youth.
“As they say, destiny is a mysterious and wonderful thing.”
The wedding was held in a famous Jiangnan-style garden. Within its walls, every single penjing (bonsai) was worth a fortune. Pavilions intersected, small bridges arched over flowing water, and green trees provided shade; the atmosphere was steeped in classical charm.
On this day, Jiang Yiqing and Luo Shuyu both wore red wedding robes, moving side-by-side to toast their guests.
Luo Shuyu followed Jiang Yiqing’s every step closely. Jiang Yiqing was in high spirits, chatting and laughing with the guests, drinking every toast offered to her.
“Don’t drink too much,” Luo Shuyu felt compelled to whisper a reminder.
“It’s a rare occasion to match the mood,” Jiang Yiqing thought to herself. She would only marry once in her life, and since her family wasn’t stopping her from drinking, she had to enjoy herself to the fullest.
The wedding wine was simply too delicious. Even Jiang Yiqing, who wasn’t usually fond of alcohol, found herself getting tipsy as she drank.
After Jiang Yiqing finished a table, Luo Shuyu would take the next. They alternated between them, and by the time the toasting was over and the guests began their meal, both of them were feeling the effects of the alcohol.
The wedding proceedings flowed smoothly under the guidance of the master of ceremonies, and every touching moment was frozen in time by the cameras. Jiang Yiqing didn’t know how many photos or videos had been taken over the last two days; in short, it was enough to last a lifetime of memories.
Jiang Shangwei and Li Tingfang announced that they would take over hosting the guests, allowing the couple to retire early.
Luo Shuyu supported a stumbling Jiang Yiqing into the car. By now, the sun was slowly sinking into the west, and the sky was painted with a magnificent sunset.
“From sunrise, to noon, to sunset… today went by so fast,” Jiang Yiqing said, pointing at the glowing clouds.
“And after the sunset?” Luo Shuyu asked.
“There is still tomorrow,” Jiang Yiqing said happily. “Through countless sunrises and sunsets, you will always be with me.”
“Yes, destiny tells me it is so. And the way I love you is even more powerful than destiny, Yiqing.” Luo Shuyu’s eyes reflected the colors of the sunset, tinged with a slight orange hue that was utterly captivating.
The two shared a natural kiss in the car. Luo Shuyu turned on the car’s audio system, playing a soft jazz track. The slightly raspy female vocals heightened the ambiguous, romantic atmosphere.
The setting sun cast its colors through the front windshield. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Luo Shuyu started the engine and drove off into the distance. (By this time, Luo Shuyu had already used her internal cultivation to evaporate all the alcohol from her system; there was absolutely no suspicion of drunk driving.)
“From this moment on, you belong entirely to me. Our honeymoon journey has officially begun.”
In the car speeding along the empty road, Jiang Yiqing experienced a burst of passion no less intense than skiing.
“Luo Shuyu, this is too romantic! I love you!” Jiang Yiqing opened the car window and shouted toward the beautiful scenery, wishing she could announce it to the whole world.
By nighttime, Luo Shuyu had already driven across a province, bringing Jiang Yiqing to the second place she would see in this world. As the car slowly pulled into a seaside villa, Jiang Yiqing could see seashells emitting a silver glow in the night. Beside the silvery beach, the sea shimmered with ripples of white light.
Everything in Jiang Yiqing’s eyes was beautiful, constantly exceeding her expectations.
Jiang Yiqing went barefoot to find the glowing shells by the sea. She picked up a large conch and held it to her ear; she could hear a sound like a bugle call, as if her Imperial Sister from that other world was calling out to her. However, she no longer felt sad. She hoped her Imperial Sister could feel her current state of mind. In that moment, the sound of the conch transformed into a blessing of joy.
When she stepped across the silver sand to the water’s edge, she saw the seawater glowing with a crystalline light, making even the schools of fish clearly visible.
Luo Shuyu draped an outer coat over her shoulders and said, “Tomorrow, we can go diving. You’ll see even more fish. I have an instructor’s certificate, Yiqing; I’ll teach you.”
“Wow, that’s great.” Jiang Yiqing squatted down, watching the graceful creatures.
After playing for a while, Luo Shuyu told Jiang Yiqing it was time to go back. Jiang Yiqing withdrew her gaze from the distance. The sea at night was a vast expanse of blackness in the distance; as the waves surged in, her body felt a chill.
Fortunately, she had Luo Shuyu. No matter where they were, they would never leave each other.
Returning to their room and finishing their baths, Luo Shuyu pulled Jiang Yiqing onto the large bed, asking, “After the sunset, there was one more thing you didn’t mention.”
“What thing?”
“Night arrives, and then?” Luo Shuyu looked at her, her gaze having become incredibly tender at some point—a tenderness that carried an indescribable hint of danger.
“Sleep, of course,” Jiang Yiqing said, pulling the covers over her head.
“Sleep with whom?” Luo Shuyu asked relentlessly, ducking under the covers herself.
“With you, alright?” Jiang Yiqing said, her voice tightening slightly.
“It’s not ‘alright,’ it’s that you have to be good,” Luo Shuyu said. “Yiqing, you know this is my first time having intimate contact with someone, right?”
“It’s mine too! Don’t act like you’re the only one,” Jiang Yiqing muttered.
“I’m afraid I won’t control my pace well. If you’re uncomfortable, you must tell me,” Luo Shuyu said, her lips already pressing a soft kiss against Yiqing’s brow.
“But… Ayu, you didn’t say it would feel this good…” Jiang Yiqing soon couldn’t hold back. However, her moans were swallowed by Luo Shuyu, as a tide of passion even stronger than before completely submerged her.
Jiang Yiqing’s body carried a sweet scent mixed with a faint aroma of wine. She was likely so happy that her head felt dizzy; like a soft rabbit that had fallen into someone’s hands, she was completely defeated before Luo Shuyu. Luo Shuyu was like one possessed; she didn’t know why she could feel such an endless surge of impulse from a single person. Everything she had imagined in her mind had now become reality, driving her to even greater heights of frenzy. She thought she would be willing to protect her entirely, yet she also wanted her to be hers alone.
That the cold and detached Luo Shuyu would one day tease her until her back couldn’t even straighten was something Jiang Yiqing had never imagined.
Jiang Yiqing drifted off to sleep from exhaustion. When she woke, the alcohol had worn off, but Luo Shuyu was actually still kissing her. The moment their eyes met, sparks began to fly once again for a new act.
Luo Shuyu’s hands kneaded the soft, delicate skin that seemed as though it would break at a touch. Whenever she touched a bit too hard, Jiang Yiqing would begin to whimper, making one want to tease her even more. Her rosy lips were already slightly swollen from being ravaged, and her body was covered in red marks. Luo Shuyu’s eyes darkened, thinking to herself that she had indeed gone too far.
“No more…” Jiang Yiqing pleaded for mercy.
“What do you mean ‘no more’?” Luo Shuyu said. “This is only the first day. You were the one who suggested the trip, and we’ve planned a wedding ceremony abroad too. Yiqing, foreigners are much more open than people here; if you’re like this, they’ll laugh at you.”
Jiang Yiqing had originally planned to make Luo Shuyu cry and beg for mercy, but she was the one who had run out of moves first. She thought to herself that this woman was truly a Great Demon King. Thinking of their future life together, her legs unhelpfully turned to jelly.
The scent belonging to Luo Shuyu pressed close once more, and the story of that ambiguous night had only just begun…
Jiang Yiqing finally managed to hold out until they arrived abroad.
Along this journey, she visited many places she had never been before, witnessing the vastness of the world. Now, she finally met her friends in a foreign land.
Though they were of different races and came from different countries, friendship held them all together.
Looking at the grand wedding scene, her friends had prepared for her and Luo Shuyu, Jiang Yiqing was so moved she was speechless.
First, in a church and under the witness of everyone, they listened to the wedding prayers. Holding hands and wearing white veils, they stepped out onto the streets.
The pedestrians on the road looked at them with smiles on their faces. Luo Shuyu led Jiang Yiqing to a plaza.
Here, white pigeons took flight, and friends played guitars. In the center of the plaza, amidst the laughter of kind-hearted people in a strange city, the two of them danced gracefully together.
Afterward, they went to a client’s home to help exorcise ghosts, taking the opportunity to travel to various countries and record more fragments of a life spent together.
Everything had the scent of something fresh and new.
