I Got Together With the Fake Heiress - Chapter 2
Wen Yimeng’s expression changed, and tears immediately streamed down her face. “Sister, why would you say that? Even if someone has to leave, it should be me…”
As she spoke, Wen Yimeng took the opportunity to break free from Wen Yunqing’s embrace, sniffled, and said tearfully, “Sister doesn’t need to use this method to force Mom and Dad to make a decision. I’ll just leave.”
With that, Wen Yimeng started walking toward the stairs, pretending to go pack her things and depart.
“Nonsense! Didn’t I tell you? Yimeng, like you, is my child! Why do you have to force her to leave the moment you return?” Father Wen’s face showed a hint of displeasure, and he began to suspect Wen Yunqing’s motive for returning.
Could she have been incited by that family, only coming back for my money?
“Did I force her to leave?” Wen Yunqing didn’t quite understand. She had simply stated her thoughts very honestly.
Wen Yimeng’s delicate “little white flower” appearance and her “poor little thing” act perfectly matched her preferences. If I could keep Wen Yimeng, I wouldn’t mind giving up this pair of parents.
“Alright, Yunqing just returned. Don’t speak to her like that.” Although Mother Wen spoke up for Wen Yunqing, her attention was entirely on Wen Yimeng. She held her hand and comforted her gently.
It turns out that affection developed through companionship is more important than blood ties.
Wen Yunqing gained a sudden insight. If that was the case, then it was perfectly normal that she hadn’t felt sadness over her parents’ deaths in her previous life.
After calming Wen Yimeng’s emotions, Mother Wen finally found time to take Wen Yunqing to her room.
“This is your room, and that one over there is your sister Yimeng’s room,” Mother Wen said, pushing open the door to reveal the interior.
Wen Yunqing stepped inside to look around. The room layout was typical—a minimalist style primarily in black and white. Aside from a bouquet of fresh flowers on the desk, it lacked any personal touch.
“The third floor is entirely your sisters’ territory. Get along well in the future,” Mother Wen said, feeling a little awkward upon seeing the simple layout.
Wen Yunqing nodded, looked around, and then focused her attention on the wardrobe.
“I haven’t had time to prepare clothes for you yet. I’ll take you out later, and I’ll buy you anything you want,” Mother Wen said when she noticed this.
No clothes? But Wen Yunqing’s senses told her there was something inside.
Wen Yunqing murmured a “hmm,” then stepped forward, opened the wardrobe, and asked upon seeing the clothes inside, “Didn’t you prepare these for me, Mom?”
Mother Wen was also stunned by the wardrobe full of pink and tender dresses. “These clothes… must be your sister’s…”
“I see! Yimeng likes me a lot too, right? So she put her clothes in my room in advance,” Wen Yunqing proactively offered an explanation for Mother Wen.
“Yes, that’s… that’s right…” Mother Wen said, glancing at Wen Yunqing, who was nearly half a head taller than herself, and explained, “The child was just worried you wouldn’t have anything to wear, but I didn’t realize your sizes are so different. I’ll have someone empty the wardrobe later.”
“No need, just leave these clothes here,” Wen Yunqing said. I’ll definitely be together with my little darling. These clothes might come in handy in a few days.
Though Wen Yimeng didn’t follow the two around, she had been secretly observing them the entire time.
After seeing them emerge from the room, Mother Wen was visibly warmer toward Wen Yunqing and was even starting to care about her preferences. Wen Yimeng’s sense of urgency intensified.
Sure enough, I underestimated Wen Yunqing. She deliberately hugged me and said those things just now to evoke Mom and Dad’s guilt, so she could seize the opportunity, take my place as the treasured child, and eventually drive me out.
Thinking of her birth mother’s appearance, Wen Yimeng instinctively shivered, a flicker of fear in her eyes.
She didn’t want to be driven out, didn’t want to be thrown into the countryside, didn’t want to live with mentally disturbed elders, and certainly didn’t want to be married off to some old man or cripple!
Wen Yunqing remained indifferent, behaving cooperatively throughout, until she finished dinner and was blocked by her so-called older brother. Only then did her expression change slightly.
“You need something?” Wen Yunqing asked, seemingly composed, but her heart was surging with excitement. Is the melodrama I’ve been long awaiting finally about to arrive?
“I’m warning you, I only recognize Yimeng as my sister! Don’t you dare try to replace her!” Wen Han said sternly. “If you try any sneaky little tricks behind the scenes, don’t blame me for being impolite!”
Wen Yunqing’s brow twitched. This threat is too weak! What deterrent power does the phrase “don’t blame me for being impolite” even have?
As a veteran reader immersed in melodramatic plots for years, Wen Yunqing spoke to escalate the conflict: “What do you mean by ‘impolite’? What can you do to me?”
“Do you think I’m exaggerating?” Wen Han had only intended to caution her, but hearing this, his temper flared instantly. “Believe it or not, if I just mention it to Dad, I can make you leave this place!”
“Tsk,” Wen Yunqing tugged at the corner of her mouth, revealing a smile that was nearly sinister. Then, she abruptly closed the distance to Wen Han, shoved him against the wall, and grabbed his collar.
“If I were you, I’d warn you to stay far away from my darling Yimeng. Otherwise, I’ll break your legs and toss you out like a piece of rags,” Wen Yunqing said, a low chuckle rumbling in her throat. Her eyes were fixed on Wen Han like a venomous snake.
“I’ll make everyone despise you, make you lose everything you have now, and ruthlessly stomp on your face to teach you the consequences of disobedience, until you beg on your knees to be my dog~”
The above scene was a replication of a classic moment from The Overbearing CEO’s Fierce Love, Wen Yunqing’s third favorite melodramatic novel. Of course, Wen Yunqing was imitating the overbearing CEO.
Wen Han was initially pushed back in shock, and then he was terrified by Wen Yunqing’s demeanor and words. He didn’t recover even after her grip on his collar loosened.
“Did you learn it?” Wen Yunqing’s face returned to its previous indifference. “If not, I can demonstrate it again.”
Wen Han sucked in a cold breath. “She’s seriously crazy! I always said that anyone who could live with that lunatic must be a lunatic too!”
After saying that, Wen Han turned and ran. He was unwilling to admit that he had truly been scared—intimidated by someone who just came from the countryside!
Wen Yunqing stroked her chin. If I remember correctly, Wen Han is supposed to be an overbearing CEO later, too. Why is his tolerance level so low?
It seems that overbearing CEOs must also be graded. Wen Han looks like a bottom-tier one.
Sighing with a hint of regret, Wen Yunqing bypassed the living room and turned to see Wen Yimeng hiding on the side, secretly observing the situation.
“Darling Yimeng, were you secretly watching me?” Wen Yunqing asked with a smile, slowly walking toward her. Wen Yimeng’s face was pale. She had seen all the interactions between the two. Although she couldn’t hear exactly what Wen Yunqing had said, she saw Wen Han’s expression. To scare Wen Han, the words must have been terrifying.
“W-what do you w-want to do!” Wen Yimeng’s speech became slightly stuttered. Seeing Wen Yunqing approach, she instinctively wanted to step back.
But Wen Yimeng forgot that she was hiding in a corner to conceal herself and had no path to retreat.
“I don’t want to do anything, darling Yimeng. Since you wanted to watch me, I’m just coming closer so you can look carefully,” Wen Yunqing said, a gentle smile on her face—the complete opposite of the menacing expression she used to threaten Wen Han.
Wen Yimeng’s back was against the wall. She raised her head slightly, staring at Wen Yunqing with some fear.
Wen Yunqing’s skin tone was a bit sallow right now, making her look ordinary at first glance. But upon closer inspection, none of her features were unattractive, and one could clearly see the shadows of Father Wen and Mother Wen in them.
Facing Wen Yimeng, who perfectly matched her preferences, Wen Yunqing’s attitude was extremely gentle. She didn’t get too close, maintaining a distance of about a meter, and her gaze was very soft.
“Darling Yimeng, what do you think of me? Will you consider it? Come with me, and I promise I won’t let you suffer any injustice,” Wen Yunqing had little experience expressing affection. She could only desperately rummage through her memories, drawing on and imitating the confession scenes from them.
Unfortunately, Wen Yunqing forgot that her brain was completely filled with melodramatic plots. While it was fine for scaring people, using those plots for a confession resulted in…
Wen Yimeng’s expression was very strange. She felt that Wen Yunqing was humiliating her, implicitly telling her that she could only swallow her pride and submit to her.
She took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled. After repeating this three times, the fear Wen Yimeng had just felt mostly dissipated. She mustered up her courage and spoke.
“Dream on! I won’t give up!” Saying that, Wen Yimeng rushed out in one breath, intending to ram into Wen Yunqing and escape her current predicament.
Wen Yunqing hadn’t anticipated such a reaction from Wen Yimeng. Thus, when she crashed into her, Wen Yunqing didn’t have time to dodge and could only watch her bounce off with an “Ow!” and spring back against the wall.
“Um, are you hurt?” Seeing Wen Yimeng clutch her head, Wen Yunqing felt a little awkward.
Although this body was a bit frail, it housed a person who was close to achieving the Great Dao. Wen Yimeng couldn’t just casually ram her open.
“You…” Tears immediately welled up in Wen Yimeng’s eyes. She snapped in embarrassment and anger: “Get out of my way!”
Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! How could I embarrass myself again in front of this person!
Wen Yunqing moved aside with an innocent look. To be honest, she hadn’t been blocking the way at all. Given Wen Yimeng’s small stature, she could have easily walked past her.
Or, is this the so-called ‘hitting is kissing, scolding is loving’?
