I Got A Girlfriend After Losing My Memory (Transmigration) - Chapter 43
Tang Fuzhi’s eyes were wet with fear, her body tense. “But you said… after the wedding…”
Last night, she hadn’t minded at first. But for some reason, Tao Ran stopped just before they reached the final step.
When Tang Fuzhi asked, Tao Ran simply said, “Let’s wait until we’re married.” When Tang Fuzhi pressed further, Tao Ran finally admitted she wanted to save the best for their wedding day.
Now, nestled in Tao Ran’s arms, Tang Fuzhi muttered softly, “You were the one who said that, and now you’re the one who wants to break it.”
She was still holding a grudge.
All night, Tao Ran had kissed her relentlessly, covering every inch of her body. Yet when they were about to go all the way, she stubbornly refused to continue, leaving Tang Fuzhi hanging in the balance.
She was human, after all, with desires of her own.
Tao Ran cupped the younger woman’s face, gazing intently at her. She chuckled softly, her voice low and husky, “Why are you so resentful?”
Her voice was deep and slightly raspy, carrying a magnetic quality. With a teasing glint in her eyes, she raised an eyebrow and asked, “Do you want it that badly?”
The girl’s fair earlobes flushed crimson. She turned her head away, refusing to let Tao Ran’s hand hold her face. Stretching her legs forward, she hooked her feet against the ground to stop the hammock chair from swinging. With a slight shift of her hips, she seemed to want to wriggle free from Tao Ran’s embrace.
Tao Ran wasn’t about to let her off so easily. She immediately wrapped her arms around Tang Fuzhi’s slender waist and gently stroked her hair. “Hmm, it’s not that our Tang Tang doesn’t want it. I want it, but I also want to appear less like a beast.”
Seeing Tao Ran take responsibility, Tang Fuzhi let out a reluctant hum. “It was your fault to begin with.”
Tao Ran pressed her toes lightly against the ground, then withdrew her foot, setting the hammock chair into a slow, gentle sway. “Then would the kind Miss Tang be willing to take pity on me and alleviate my longing for you?”
Though Tao Ran’s words were polite, every sentence carried an undercurrent of possessiveness.
Tang Fuzhi met Tao Ran’s upward-tilting peach blossom eyes. Sitting in Tao Ran’s lap, she was completely enveloped by Tao Ran’s scent, her body still bearing the marks of Tao Ran’s touch.
Suddenly, she felt a pang of unfairness.
The young woman flashed Tao Ran a sweet smile. “It’s not impossible, but I have a condition.”
She reached up to touch her right neck, the faint tooth mark beneath her palm feeling faintly warm.
Tao Ran raised an eyebrow, immediately understanding what she intended.
The little rabbit wants to bite back.
A slightly sultry summer breeze brushed across Tao Ran’s shoulder, lifting a strand of hair and exposing her flawless, porcelain-white neck to Tang Fuzhi’s gaze.
A faint smile curved Tao Ran’s lips, her captivating peach blossom eyes tilting upward, sparkling with amusement. She deliberately brushed aside stray strands of hair from her shoulder, leaning slightly toward Tang Fuzhi.
Tang Fuzhi lowered her gaze, her eyes fixed on the pale, delicate skin before her. Tao Ran’s swallow caused a ripple of movement across the smooth expanse.
She leaned in, her crimson lips pressing against Tao Ran’s neck, where she could faintly feel the pulse of the carotid artery.
Suddenly, she understood what Tao Ran felt.
Her sharp teeth pressed against the soft skin, leaving a lipstick stain on the pale surface. Tang Fuzhi’s lips parted slightly, her eyes lowered as she savored Tao Ran’s scent. She increased the pressure, leaving a faint red mark on the fair neck.
She could almost feel the skin about to break, the sensation of blood welling up in her throat.
Tao Ran, holding Tang Fuzhi close, felt the gradual increase in pressure.
Almost there, almost there. Just a little more force, and she could leave her mark on Tang Fuzhi too, letting her blood flow into Tang Fuzhi’s veins.
The thought sent a thrill through Tao Ran, her body trembling slightly with anticipation.
Before breaking the skin, Tang Fuzhi released her grip, putting on a show of bravado to cover her inner weakness. “I’ll let you off with a small punishment this time,” she warned. “But if you try to bite me again, I’ll bite back!”
Tao Ran suddenly relaxed, reaching up to touch her neck with a hint of regret. She had been looking forward to seeing the soft little kitten bare its claws, even if it meant getting scratched. She wouldn’t mind letting the world know she kept such an adorable little cat at home.
As she withdrew her hand, Tao Ran noticed a smudge of lipstick on her fingertip. Her gaze drifted to Tang Fuzhi’s lips.
The girl’s lips were beautifully shaped, the kind that curved into a natural, gentle smile even when she wasn’t speaking. There was nothing aggressive about them. The delicate lips, coated in a cool tea-brown lipstick, had been slightly smudged, leaving a stain on Tao Ran’s fingertip that matched the color.
Tao Ran smiled faintly, pinching Tang Fuzhi’s chin and completely swallowing the smear of lipstick. Her hand slid silently from Tang Fuzhi’s waist to her back, pressing the girl’s entire upper body tightly against her own. She captured Tang Fuzhi’s lower lip, and before the girl could react, her slick tongue darted in, claiming her mouth with a predatory urgency.
Tang Fuzhi’s breathing grew ragged under the kiss. Her hands, resting on Tao Ran’s shoulders, tightened unconsciously, her grip growing desperate.
It was strange. Even as she continued kissing the young woman, Tao Ran’s throat remained parched, the dryness only intensifying.
Her fingertips curled slightly against Tang Fuzhi’s straight back, her lashes fluttering as she watched the young woman’s face flush crimson in her arms. Tang Fuzhi clung to her like a delicate dodder vine, as if Tao Ran were her only anchor.
During their first kiss, Tang Fuzhi had been visibly nervous. But as their kisses grew more frequent and prolonged, she had come to accept them with remarkable ease.
On days when the young woman was in good spirits, Tao Ran might even receive a response.
This was Tao Ran’s greatest pleasure.
But today, Tang Fuzhi was clearly tense. The spine beneath Tao Ran’s fingertips was rigid, and their entwined tongues felt stiff.
Tao Ran threaded her fingers through Tang Fuzhi’s hair, her breath quickening. “Relax,” she murmured hoarsely.
Seizing the brief respite, Tang Fuzhi stammered, “S-someone might see us…”
Before she could finish, Tao Ran’s lips claimed hers again.
Their mouths pressed tightly together, Tao Ran’s voice muffled against Tang Fuzhi’s lips. “Don’t worry. No one will see us.”
Perhaps because they were outside, Tang Fuzhi remained unable to relax, despite Tao Ran’s reassurances.
Left with no other choice, Tao Ran reluctantly released Tang Fuzhi, her gaze fixed on the younger woman. Tang Fuzhi’s cheeks were flushed crimson, her temperature alarmingly high. She bit her lower lip lightly, her watery eyes brimming with reproach.
Tao Ran reached out to smooth the stray strands of hair across Tang Fuzhi’s forehead, her other hand stroking her back in a soothing gesture, like petting a cat. “What are you so worried about? Everyone already knows we’re together.”
Tang Fuzhi glared at her, her eyes blazing with indignation. “That’s not the same thing at all!”
It was one thing to fool around at home, but this was the Huo Family residence. They were here to meet the elders, and behaving like this in front of them was utterly inappropriate.
Besides, it was broad daylight, with no cover whatsoever. Anyone passing by, even someone glancing down from an upper floor, could easily see what they were doing.
Tao Ran lowered her gaze to Tang Fuzhi’s glistening lips, now completely devoid of lipstick. She meekly admitted, “Okay, I was wrong.”
Her quick apology left Tang Fuzhi speechless, the rest of her scolding caught in her throat.
After a long moment, the young woman finally spoke, her voice soft and hesitant. “Then… then I’ll forgive you.”
The corners of Tao Ran’s lips curved slightly upward, as she had anticipated this.
But Tang Fuzhi clearly wasn’t finished. She pressed her lips together and continued, “But you have to answer one question for me.”
Tao Ran raised an eyebrow, surprised by this turn. She took Tang Fuzhi’s soft, boneless hand and began toying with it. The young woman had never done any manual labor, and her skin was delicate, without a single callus.
In contrast, Tao Ran had been raised by her stepmother since childhood. Though she hadn’t starved, she had endured considerable hardship. Her fingers bore faint calluses, barely noticeable but detectable upon close examination.
“As many questions as you like,” Tao Ran said, pressing her forehead against Tang Fuzhi’s. She loved this position, holding the young woman close, her every expression visible. “There’s nothing I can’t tell you about myself.”
Tang Fuzhi grew nervous, her palm slightly sweating as Tao Ran played with her hand. “Grandpa Huo told me that you and Grandpa had misunderstandings since childhood because of your father’s meddling, and only cleared them up a few years ago. Is that right?”
Tao Ran finally understood why Old Master Huo had suddenly become so adept at posting on Weibo.
Although she had been urging him, Old Master Huo remained wary of her partner, largely due to Tao Yue’s influence.
Even after agreeing yesterday, Tao Ran suspected he would drag his feet for a few more days, deliberately delaying things to keep her in suspense.
But then he stumbled upon something from years ago that drastically improved his impression of Tang Fuzhi, leading to that Weibo post at this very moment.
“Mm,” Tao Ran murmured. There was no need to lie to Tang Fuzhi about this.
Tang Fuzhi grew even more anxious, her throat tightening. “Was I the one mediating between you and Grandpa?”
Though she had already guessed the answer, she couldn’t relax until she heard it confirmed.
She could also guess why Old Master Huo’s attitude had suddenly shifted. What if she was wrong and someone else deserved the credit? Being exposed later would be mortifying.
And there was another reason…
Tang Fuzhi looked up at Tao Ran, whose eyes were filled with nothing but her.
She had her own selfish desires.
If she could have it her way, she wanted to be the only person in her girlfriend’s life, especially when it came to matters involving Tao Ran’s grandfather and mother.
