- Chapter 46: World 4 - The Bird in a Cage Infected with a Dreadful Disease
Bai Qian had entered this world half an hour earlier. The drive alone had taken nearly twenty minutes, and she had been too preoccupied with navigating traffic to even consider how to prevent the impending encounter between the male and female leads.
As the female lead approached the bar, Bai Qian reluctantly resorted to a “beauty ploy.”
She wasn’t certain it would work. If the seduction failed, she would have to devise another plan.
Unexpectedly, the result was quite satisfactory. The female lead, who had been determined to find a handsome partner for a one-night stand tonight, had actually fallen for Bai Qian’s scheme.
Bai Qian took her to a nearby hotel. When she pulled out her ID, Jian Wanqing, who had been quietly following beside her, glanced at her name.
She knew she wouldn’t feel completely safe until the female lead had safely survived the night. The safest course of action was to keep a close watch on her, preventing her from returning to the bar and encountering the male lead.
But Bai Qian’s thoughts didn’t necessarily reflect those of the other person.
The moment the door clicked shut, Jian Wanqing impatiently pushed her against the wall.
Without even a greeting, those scalding lips moved toward the woman.
Bai Qian, preoccupied with other thoughts, didn’t have time to dodge. By the time she realized what was happening, her lips were already captured in a kiss.
Jian Wanqing didn’t stop there, like a ravenous wolf that had tasted flesh. She tightened her arms around the woman’s slender waist, leaving her no room to escape.
Jian Wanqing’s intelligence wasn’t limited to her astonishing academic record. She had never ranked lower than first. She applied the same sharpness to mastering the art of kissing a woman.
In Jian Wanqing’s eyes, Bai Qian’s earlier peck meant nothing. She intended to possess this beautiful woman thoroughly whose mere glance had stirred her heart.
Her tongue traced the contours of the woman’s warm lips, mixing their sweet, alluring saliva as she deepened the kiss. The lingering moisture, unable to be swallowed back in time, slid sensuously down the corner of her mouth.
After enduring nearly three minutes of fervent kisses, Bai Qian finally seized an opportunity to break free, rudely shoving the woman away.
Jian Wanqing’s eyes burned with an intense, almost palpable desire, enough to make one’s scalp tingle. In stark contrast, Bai Qian’s gaze remained clear and composed, untouched by the slightest hint of surrender.
Unaware that she had inadvertently provoked a starving wolf, the woman calmly wiped the moisture from the corner of her mouth under Jian Wanqing’s displeased stare.
Her gesture was perfectly natural, but to Jian Wanqing, whose mind had already been stirred by desire, it automatically took on a seductive quality.
“What’s wrong?”
Jian Wanqing had once been locked in a room by her own father, desperately pleading for mercy, but even then, her voice had never sounded so low and husky.
Bai Qian, usually so composed, found her mind in disarray after that kiss. Her thoughts tangled like a knotted ball of string, leaving her unable to find a coherent reason for the sudden shift in attitude. Faced with the urgent situation, she could only bluntly refuse: “I’m sorry, I don’t want to continue.”
The woman stared in disbelief. “What?”
Regaining some composure, Bai Qian repeated firmly: “I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to continue.”
Even a saint would struggle to remain calm in this situation.
Jian Wanqing was no exception. She was so furious she started laughing, having intended to put on a cold, detached expression. But when her gaze met the woman’s excessively refined face, her anger uncontrollably shifted into a flicker of desire. Finally, she forced herself to suppress her temper and said, “Miss Bai Qian, you were the one who kissed me first outside the bar. You lured me here, and now you’re telling me to stop? Listen to yourself. Does that even make sense?”
As she spoke, a sense of hurt welled up within her. “I don’t even know you! Even if you just want to play with me, shouldn’t you at least give me a reason?”
“Or maybe…” Jian Wanqing began offering excuses for her. “Is it because my kissing skills aren’t good enough? Are you dissatisfied, so you would rather not continue?”
Bai Qian couldn’t get a word in edgewise as Jian Wanqing continued relentlessly. “That can’t be my fault. This is my first kiss with someone. Skills can be practiced; you can teach me. If you don’t like it, then I won’t move. You kiss me however you like. I’ll accept anything. You…”
The woman’s lips, which had been moving as she spoke, were suddenly covered by a palm, silencing her unfinished words.
“There’s no reason. I simply don’t want to anymore. Is that explanation enough for you?”
Her demeanor turned icy cold. The warm, affectionate eyes that had been so full of charm and allure at the bar now held only a distant, intimidating gaze.
Casual encounters like these were supposed to be based on mutual consent. If one party changed their mind at the last minute, the other, no matter how displeased, couldn’t really force anything.
Also, the woman’s refusal was so clear that most people would know not to persist and embarrass themselves.
But clearly, this lust-addled fool was not like most people.
She completely ignored what she said; her attention was completely captivated by the hand covering her mouth.
The hand, like its owner, was delicate and beautiful, as if carved from fine jade.
“Your hands are truly lovely,” Jian Wanqing praised without reservation.
Bai Qian had been waiting for a response, only to receive this superficial remark.
After fully comprehending the meaning behind the words, Bai Qian nearly lost her composure.
She steadied herself, preparing to end the conversation decisively. But before she could speak, her hand was gently captured.
Jian Wanqing didn’t rush to caress that alluring hand; she had something more pressing in mind.
The woman looked up, her eyes burning with unhidden desire. “Let’s not waste time. Who’s going to make the first move?”
Bai Qian: ?
“Miss Jian, wasn’t what I said just now clear enough?”
Jian Wanqing feigned confusion. “What did you say just now?”
She nodded. “Right, you haven’t told me yet. Was it because my kissing skills are lacking that you suddenly changed your mind? Or did you already say it? Sorry, I was too distracted by your hand. It’s truly beautiful. Miss Bai Qian, you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen. You’re stunning.”
Such blunt and sincere praise left even Bai Qian momentarily speechless.
Quickly realizing that she had been led astray again, she stiffened her expression. But before she could react, the woman kissed her lips once more.
Jian Wanqing kissed her lips briefly, like a woodpecker tapping, and invited, “Miss Bai Qian, let’s stop wasting time standing here. I rushed out without bathing. Would you like to wash up? If you do, we can do it together.”
