I Don't Want To Fall In Love With The Heroine [Quick Wear] - Chapter 26
Even without her memories, when the time came, her symptoms flared up just the same.
Bai Qian hadn’t truly given up on the idea of completing that “final step” with her, but there was no way she could discuss it with Yu Shaoling. As the onset time approached, she prepared a rope in advance. Her plan was simple: wait until the girl was on the verge of fainting from the “drug,” tie her up, and then perform the act to trigger the tail’s regeneration.
When the clock struck the hour, Yu Shaoling’s complexion changed exactly as expected.
Bai Qian waited a moment. Once she saw the girl had lost her strength to resist, she wound the rope around her several times, binding her firmly. Just as the girl’s eyes began to roll back and her breath faltered, Bai Qian leaned down and sealed her lips with a kiss.
The Yu Shaoling who was pulled back from the brink was nothing like the submissive partner Bai Qian had imagined. Instead, she used her psychic power to snap the ropes instantly. She glared at Bai Qian, fuming. “You wicked captive! To think you’d dare use such a vile drug on me just to become my Prince Consort!”
The ropes, snapped into several pieces, were restored by her psychic power. Before Bai Qian could even explain, she found herself being tied up in the exact same manner.
To punish this greedy human, the proud Princess grew stingy, refusing to use her noble mouth again for the rest of the night.
Bai Qian was tied up for the entire night. No matter how she pleaded, the girl wouldn’t let her go. A mermaid’s skin was delicate, but so was the woman’s.
When she was finally released at dawn, Bai Qian—having spent the night being “forced to indulge”—couldn’t even feel sleepy. Her skin was covered in deep and light red marks that looked utterly scandalous. They didn’t hurt, but there was a persistent, light itch.
Bai Qian made Yu Shaoling use her psychic power to erase the marks. Afterward, the ruthless girl let out a low scoff. “Little captive, did I not warn you? If you don’t know your place, you will be punished. This was just a small lesson. Dare to drug me again, and the punishment will be far more severe.”
Bai Qian cursed the fish a thousand times in her head.
She struggled out of bed, gasping with every button she tried to fasten. Yu Shaoling’s brow furrowed deeper at the soft sounds of pain. Finally unable to help herself, she sneered, “When you were tying me up last night, did you stop to think if I would be in pain? You deserve it. Drugging me earns you a penalty!”
Bai Qian glared at her. “Am I even comparable to you? I’m human. Are you?!”
Yu Shaoling: I was insulted, but… technically she’s not wrong.
Just as she was about to reply, her face changed color. The familiar suffocation hit her again. The woman, who was just one button away from being dressed, was shoved back onto the bed.
As those thin lips pressed against hers, her shirt was unceremoniously yanked open, buttons popping off and clattering to the floor one by one. After the ordeal of the previous night and with the lingering sensitivity of her skin, Bai Qian had zero interest in daytime debauchery.
The moment Yu Shaoling’s tongue slid into her mouth, the irritated woman bit down without hesitation.
The girl winced in pain but refused to withdraw, her tongue lingering between Bai Qian’s lips while her hand slid down from the woman’s flat stomach. She murmured a low, coaxing line.
“Be a good girl, little captive, and I’ll give you what you want.”
Bai Qian was so exhausted she slept until the afternoon. When she woke up, the itchy marks on her body had been cleared away.
The girl was sitting at the head of the bed with a book spread across her knees. Hearing movement, she turned her head, her expression actually appearing somewhat soft. “You’re awake?”
Bai Qian’s eyes were still half-shut. She rubbed them, her voice incredibly raspy. “What time is it?”
Receiving no answer, she lowered her hands only to find Yu Shaoling leaning over her. As the girl moved to kiss her, Bai Qian instinctively raised a hand to block her, frowning. “Dirty.”
Yu Shaoling’s face darkened instantly. “You wretched human! It is an honor for me to touch you, and you dare call me dirty!”
“The thing you touch me with is dirty,” Bai Qian countered.
The Princess was so angry steam could have come out of her head. “You damned captive! Whose thing is it anyway?! You were the one who begged me to taste it!”
The woman blinked innocently. “Not this time. And regardless of whether I asked you or not, to me, it’s dirty.”
“I’m turning you into a sea-pig right now, you deceitful, backtracking human!”
Bai Qian scrambled up, ignoring the girl’s failed attempt at a psychic attack, and slipped out of bed to wash up. Her wrist was suddenly snatched. Yu Shaoling yanked her back down, venting her rage through a predatory kiss.
Finally, still fuming, she bit Bai Qian’s earlobe and hissed a threat. “Next time, I’ll make you taste exactly what ‘flavor’ it is yourself.”
Bai Qian, her face flushing crimson, called her a pervert.
For now, Bai Qian had to drop the idea of finding Yu Shaoling’s tail. It wasn’t that she wasn’t in a hurry, but the current Yu Shaoling never gave her an opening to take the lead. Her energy was entirely spent dealing with a girl who turned into a feral predator like clockwork; she had none left to try and overpower her.
Mermaids were possessive creatures. Once they viewed someone as their property, they insisted on keeping that person within their sight at all times.
After being stuck to the girl like a prisoner for over a month, unable to escape her constant, forceful demands for kisses, Bai Qian finally broke. On an ordinary afternoon, she used an app to order some sleeping pills.
Once she had knocked the girl out, she immediately left to find An Yan.
“That item from the blind box… you still haven’t used it?” An Yan asked.
Bai Qian had completely forgotten about that sketchy product. After listening to An Yan’s brief description of what it did, she breathed a sigh of relief and asked, “It’s not expired, is it?”
“No.”
Bai Qian finally felt at ease. She thanked An Yan and left. She was trying to remember where the previous Yu Shaoling had hidden the bottle, but as she rounded a corner, she saw the girl standing by the same utility pole. Her expression was even darker than before.
Bai Qian swallowed hard, her legs trembling under the girl’s terrifying, oppressive gaze. “You… why are you here again?”
Yu Shaoling pulled a small packet of familiar white powder from her pocket. Bai Qian’s heart skipped a beat as she heard the girl’s light laugh. “Little captive, I forgot to tell you—I saw you.”
The girl smiled at her, though the expression didn’t reach her eyes. “Are you coming here, or am I coming to you? Friendly reminder: both options come with a penalty.”
“…”
Bai Qian walked toward her with the resignation of a martyr. When she reached her, Yu Shaoling raised a hand and gently ruffled her hair.
“Good girl. But don’t think that means I won’t punish you, my little captive.”
Yu Shaoling used a thin silk ribbon to tie her to the bedpost and then left the room. After a long while, she returned with a bowl of washed, plump strawberries.
Bai Qian felt a strange sense of déjà vu, but she couldn’t find the memory. Yu Shaoling sat beside her, picked one up, and made her take a bite. Once the woman swallowed it, the girl asked with a smile, “Is it sweet?”
Bai Qian didn’t dare shake her head. The aura the girl was emitting made every pore on her body tighten.
“I’m glad you like it. If I juice it like this, it should be very sweet too, right?”
Bai Qian sensed something was wrong. She tried to stop her with a trembling voice. “The… the juicer is in the kitchen.”
Yu Shaoling laughed. Her beautiful fingers rubbed the juice stains from Bai Qian’s lips and then moved lower. Her voice was gentle, yet terrifyingly dark.
“It’s okay. This will work as a juicer, too.”
Bai Qian swore she would never eat a strawberry again for the rest of her life.
When the punishment finally ended, the girl looked like a lethal demon. Swirling a glass of bright red, freshly “pressed” strawberry juice, she smiled. “Little captive, you should be glad you walked to me. Otherwise, I would have made you drink this.”
Bai Qian stiffened at the thought, shouting in rage, “You disgusting, perverted fish!”
Yu Shaoling, in a great mood, granted her a kiss. “Don’t run away again, my disobedient little captive. Got it?”
Bai Qian spent a week recovering from that ordeal. Seven days later, her resolve returned. The “Crybaby” version of Yu Shaoling hadn’t moved much around the house; Bai Qian waited for the girl to go take a shower, then quickly searched several suspected hiding spots.
Finally, in a study drawer, she found the “miracle drug” that was supposed to enhance feelings between two people. She had just slipped it into her pocket when the door clicked open.
Yu Shaoling stood there, her face slightly clouded. “I thought you’d run away again.”
Bai Qian was used to her unnatural possessiveness by now. She stood up calmly. She walked to the girl and touched her long, wet hair. “It’s late. Where would I go? Go back to the room and dry your hair. I’m a bit hungry; do you want some noodles?”
Yu Shaoling didn’t answer. Her eyes were half-veiled, hiding her emotions. She stared at Bai Qian for several seconds before leaning down and kissing the corner of her mouth. “Why don’t we… just bathe together from now on?”
“You’re crazy! Go dry your hair. Do you want noodles or not? If you don’t answer, I’m not making your portion.”
Yu Shaoling caught her hand and forcefully led her back to the bedroom. “Little captive, don’t think that just because I’ve been easy on you lately that you can forget your place. Drying hair is a small matter, but do I really have to remind you whose job it is?”
“…” It’s a perfectly normal sentence, so why does it sound so suggestive when she says it?!!
Yu Shaoling had recently fallen in love with fairy tales. She had finished Thumbelina, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty, and was now starting The Little Mermaid.
Bai Qian hadn’t forgotten the drug. Her noodles were mostly digested, so she began her plan. She climbed out of bed, intending to go to the kitchen to “process” the medicine.
Beside her, the girl slammed the book shut. Her face was full of disdain and mockery.
“This story is so stupid. We mermaids would never be this foolish. How could anyone choose to give up their life for a lowly human? Ha, how ridiculous. Take me to see this Hans Christian Andersen person one day; I want to see what kind of moron writes such lies to smear our facts!”
After her rant, Yu Shaoling noticed Bai Qian was already at the door. Her brow furrowed, and she made a move to get out of bed. “Where are you going?”
Bai Qian couldn’t let her follow. Her mind raced, and she rushed back to push the girl back under the covers. Before the girl could grow angry at this “insubordination,” Bai Qian spoke quickly: “Actually, there’s another version of The Little Mermaid you might like. Should I find it for you?”
“Answer me first: where were you going behind my back?”
“…” She really didn’t want to comment on the ‘cheating’ undertones of that sentence. “To the bathroom. Do I need your permission for that, too, Princess?”
Yu Shaoling looked away, slightly embarrassed. “What new version? If it’s as stupid as this Andersen one, don’t expect me to ever lick it for you again.”
“…” Bai Qian gritted her teeth. “Could you please not discuss things like that out of the blue when it isn’t ‘flare-up’ time?”
Yu Shaoling laughed, a sharp, cold sound. “You spoiled, stupid captive! Have you really forgotten who you are? If you don’t start following your duties, I’ll punish you for real this time!”
Bai Qian challenged, “Oh? And how do you plan to punish me this time?”
The Princess thought for a moment. Suddenly, as if she had found Bai Qian’s ultimate weakness, she smiled with pure malice. “If you don’t behave, tomorrow I’ll just pick some random human and name them my Prince Consort. That should scare you, shouldn’t it? Will you still dare to speak to me so disrespectfully after that?”
