I Don't Want To Fall In Love With The Heroine [Quick Wear] - Chapter 19
Before Bai Qian could even process what was happening, she was shoved backward by a woman whose eyes were clouded with pure desire, landing firmly against the sofa cushions.
Her phone hit the floor with a dull thud. In the same instant, the small buttons of her shirt were torn open with frantic strength.
Shao Zizhi’s vivid red lips, driven by a parched longing, pressed against Bai Qian’s soft, fragrant neck. Her skin was so dazzlingly pale that the lipstick marks left behind looked like fresh strawberries atop a white cake, lending a captivating allure to the sweet “dessert.”
Their breathing grew ragged and chaotic.
As Shao Zizhi’s movements deepened, Bai Qian’s fingers, threaded through the girl’s hair, tightened inch by inch until they were inextricably entwined.
Outside, the rain began to fall—drifting down, plunging into the ravines, and seeping steadily through the cracks of the cliffs. A gentle wind swept that rain upward; the mountains trembled with a silent, inner fury, attempting to escape the wind’s embrace, only to be gradually soothed into calm by its tender, meticulous caress.
The wind gathered the droplets and returned them to the earth as a final, lingering gift.
“Sister…”
“It’s so sweet.”
“I love it so much.”

Bai Qian gave Shao Liangrong a legendary earful.
Poor, innocent Shao Liangrong held the phone, listening piteously to over ten minutes of Bai Qian’s raspy-voiced “national essence” (cursing). Once Bai Qian finally stopped to breathe, Liangrong dared to ask in a small voice:
“Bai Qian… what did I do? Don’t just keep repeating the same insults. At least let me know why I’m being scolded!”
“It’s me.” Bai Qian’s voice vanished, replaced by Shao Zizhi’s.
Shao Liangrong’s neck shrank back instinctively. Bai Qian just finished scolding her—was her sister about to start now? She was truly innocent!
“Didn’t you always want that limited edition figurine set of mine? Find a time to come over and pick it up.”
The only thing scarier than Bai Qian calling just to curse her was her sister of twenty years suddenly speaking to her in a tone so gentle it was haunting.
Ignoring whatever wild thoughts Liangrong was having, Shao Zizhi tossed the phone aside. She leaned over and kissed the top of the head of the woman currently buried under the duvet.
“Get out!”
“Bai Qian, how can you blame me? It was just something Liangrong bought; I didn’t even know what it was. You can’t be mad at me.”
Bai Qian lifted her head, peeking out from the “sushi roll” of her duvet. The corners of her eyes were flushed red, with the lingering traces of tears still visible. She glared fiercely at the “disobedient” girl.
“Are you a scavenger?” she snapped. “Drinking whatever you find! What if it had been poison!”
Shao Zizhi looked perfectly innocent. “But it was in our home. Aside from Liangrong, no one ever comes here. Was she going to commit sororicide?”
“Don’t even mention her name! Seeing anyone from the Shao family makes me want to scream right now!”
“Fine, fine. You can scream at me later, but not now. You used your voice all night; it’s so hoarse it’s barely recognizable. If you won’t pity yourself, I will.”
“I spit on that! Pity, my foot!”
Shao Zizhi let her keep scolding while she helped her up. She brought over the glass of warm water from the nightstand, testing the temperature against her own lips first. Once satisfied, she liberated Bai Qian from the duvet and served her, watching her drink every last drop.
“This was just one time for me,” Shao Zizhi murmured. “It’s been you all those other times. They say love is about equality, so why shouldn’t this be equal too?”
“Love, my ass! There is no love between us!”
Bai Qian shot her a look. Having been put through the wringer all night, the faint dark circles under her eyes were enough to make anyone’s heart ache. “Now, shut up. I’m sleeping. Whatever it is, wait until I wake up.”
Shao Zizhi knew she had gone a bit too far under the influence of the “miracle drug.” She tucked the duvet around her properly and said softly, “Then I’m heading out. If you’re hungry when you wake up, message me. I’ll order delivery for you.”
As sleep began to erode her logic, Bai Qian asked with her eyes closed: “Where are you going?”
“It’s the opening ceremony for The Evil today. I can’t skip it, or I’d stay here with you. I’ll be back early.”
Bai Qian forced one eye open a crack. “The ceremony? It’s already that time?”
“Before we started, you were always telling me to focus my energy on this. Now that it’s here, you’ve forgotten everything. Bai Qian, do you not care about me anymore?”
Stripped of the drug’s influence, the dominant girl reverted back into a coddled, spoiled brat. She leaned in piteously, rubbing her cheek against Bai Qian’s. “Do you really not care? You even forgot the opening date. Bai Qian, don’t sleep! Don’t you dare avoid this topic!”
Bai Qian yanked the duvet over her head, cutting off all contact. Her raspy voice came out muffled through the heavy fabric: “Get to work. I’m sleeping.”
“Bai Qian, are you feeling guilty? Why won’t you answer me directly!”
Refusing to leave without an answer, the girl climbed back onto the bed. Relying on the fact that she currently had more strength, she lifted the edge of the duvet and squeezed in beside her. Her warm breath hit Bai Qian’s muffled, reddened ear. “Bai Qian, answer me. If you don’t, I’m not going!”
Driven to her limit, Bai Qian muttered dismissively, “I haven’t slept all night. Who has the energy for this? If you don’t leave now, I’m going to settle this entire debt with you once and for all.”
Shao Zizhi immediately deflated. Like a puppy being scolded for half an hour, she let out a few whimpering noises and left dejectedly. “I’m going then! Tell me if you’re hungry! I’ll reply instantly!”

Filming for The Evil proceeded smoothly according to plan. Shao Zizhi was naturally gifted, and being paired with veteran actors helped her sink into the role effortlessly. During breaks, they were generous with their time, pulling her aside to discuss the scenes.
Shao Zizhi truly loved acting. Once filming started, she stopped acting spoiled or begging for kisses when she came home. After her shower, she would sit properly on the sofa, contemplating her character’s personality, lines, and expressions. Bai Qian felt immensely relieved by this.
Once the first half of The Evil was finished, the production moved abroad for location shooting. Shao Zizhi immediately went to Bai Qian to discuss her coming along.
“I’ll find a hotel for you near the set. Won’t you come with me until we finish filming?”
Bai Qian: “I just thought you were becoming ambitious, and here you are showing your ‘love-brain’ again a few days later. No. Hotels are uncomfortable, and it’s for too long. I don’t want to go.”
Shao Zizhi acted spoiled. “But I’ll be so piteous all alone in a foreign country. Bai Qian, I want you with me. Country L has so many fun places; I’ll take you out whenever I’m off, okay?”
“No. Are the directors and assistants not human? My presence will only distract you. I’d rather wait for you at home. You just focus on filming.”
Shao Zizhi’s eyes welled up. “I can’t focus if you’re just at home. Bai Qian, the only reason I have so much drive is because I know I can come home every day and see you waiting for me.”
Compared to the girl’s irrationality, Bai Qian was almost cold. “How did you manage to be so professional before I showed up? Stop it. I’m not going.”
Shao Zizhi blinked, and tears began to fall like expensive pearls. “Before, my heart was only full of acting. Now you’ve squeezed in too. If you aren’t there, there’s a hole in my heart. Bai Qian… waaa… come with me. Please come with me.”
Without hesitation, Bai Qian turned her back to her, ignoring the piteous sight. She refused with total calm. “No amount of acting spoiled will work. I’m going to play my mobile game now. Go pack your things.”
Ultimately, Shao Zizhi failed her “misery sell” and boarded the plane to Country L full of resentment.
******
This was the first time Bai Qian had slept alone since moving in with Shao Zizhi. She wasn’t used to it, and the night was essentially sleepless.
Her phone remained silent. Normally, that girl would have bombarded her with messages by now. Bai Qian refreshed the chat window several times before tossing the phone onto the sofa and going to the kitchen to boil some noodles.
She didn’t know how she got through the day. She scrolled through her phone as usual, but videos that would have made her laugh before failed to spark any interest today. The evening glow filled the sky; the irritating day was finally coming to an end.
After checking her phone for the umpteenth time and seeing no word from the little heartless girl, Bai Qian let out a helpless laugh. As it turned out, she was the only one being tormented.
Around 6:00 PM, Zhao Tong messaged her. A friend of Shao Liangrong had opened a resort and invited her to visit the next day.
“I have things to do tomorrow. Next time.” Bai Qian was tidying her clothes as she spoke.
“We’re staying for quite a few days. If you’re busy tomorrow, come the day after. Shao Zizhi is abroad filming, and you’re home alone with nothing to do anyway. Come play with us.”
“I’m going on a trip myself. I won’t be joining you.”
“A trip? Alone or with someone? Bai Qian, you wouldn’t! You refused to go with Shao Zizhi just so you could have a romantic getaway with a side-piece while she’s gone?!”
Bai Qian was absolutely fed up with this family’s imagination. “Relax. Even if you cheated on Shao Liangrong, I wouldn’t dream of giving Shao Zizhi a green hat.”
Zhao Tong: “You’re sick!” Click. She stopped responding.

Bai Qian had always trusted the neighborhood security. But when a “thief” brazenly picked the front door lock and had the audacity to head straight for the bedroom, she couldn’t help but be suspicious. Had the night guard dozed off and given this person a chance?
The footsteps came straight for the bedroom. Recalling news reports she’d seen, she forced her frantic breathing to steady, pretending to be in a deep sleep. Valuables are easy to find; once they have enough cash, they’ll surely be satisfied, right?
To her surprise, this thief didn’t care for money. They pushed the bedroom door open softly and walked straight to the bedside. Bai Qian’s heart was practically jumping out of her chest. Was it not a thief of wealth, but a thief of… beauty?
She could feel the other person’s burning gaze fixed on her for a long time in the darkness. Finally, they made their next move. Instead of leaving, they leaned down over her.
Just as the gap closed and she smelled a familiar scent, she heard a soft drip. A hot tear landed on her cheek.
The “thief” whimpered: “Bai Qian… waaa… I missed you so much.”
