I Became the Cure for the Cursed Prince - Chapter 123
Lucas held up a brooch with red patterns engraved on a golden base and gently placed it against Leon’s chest.
It sparkled so brightly in the sunlight that it almost hurt to look at.
At first, Leon had shown his displeasure openly and couldn’t focus on the market at all.
But seeing how happy Lucas was, he eventually smiled along with him.
“Is it real gold?” the shopkeeper asked, his voice rough and uncertain.
Leon took a single gold coin from his pocket and handed it over.
The shopkeeper’s face turned pale.
“My lord, this is far too much,” he said, bowing repeatedly as he scrambled to prepare the change.
Leon glanced at him without emotion and spoke calmly.
“That’s fine. Keep the rest,” Leon said.
One of the best parts of traveling through unfamiliar places was this freedom.
No one recognized them.
Most people probably assumed they were just nobles visiting from a neighboring country.
Leon seemed to enjoy it. Like a curious child, he wandered through the market, peeking into every corner and enjoying himself.
After spending some time browsing, they decided to stop at a nearby restaurant.
Inside, people from all walks of life filled the space.
It was loud with voices and laughter, but even the noise felt cheerful and full of energy. That made the place feel warm and welcoming.
“Hello. Are you ready to order?” the server asked.
“One mushroom soup, a lamb steak, two pieces of bread, and a bottle of wine, please,” Leon replied.
After placing the order, he looked at Lucas.
“Would you like some wine?”
Lucas thought for a moment, then shook his head.
The idea of drinking was tempting, but he had something planned for that night and wanted to stay clear-headed.
“I’ll just eat for now and save the rest for later.”
Lucas trailed off and cleared his throat.
Leon turned to the waiter standing nearby and said there was no need for the wine. Then he looked back at Lucas.
“Why are you hesitating so much? What were you going to say?”
“Let’s buy the wine and take it with us instead,” Lucas replied, his voice carrying a subtle hint of temptation.
Leon smirked slightly at the tone.
He gently nudged the top of Lucas’s foot under the table. Lucas’s face immediately turned red.
Leon felt a sudden urge to kiss his flushed cheek, the kind of blush that looked like it would stain his lips if he touched it.
Without thinking, Leon leaned in. But before he could get closer, Lucas stood up quickly.
“I need to use the restroom.”
Leon leaned back in his seat with a small sigh.
“Fine, go ahead.”
Lucas left the table almost in a hurry, moving quickly as he searched for the restroom.
“Why does this feel so uncomfortable? I’m sure I wore it the right way,” he muttered to himself.
He had followed Michelle’s instructions exactly, but something still felt off.
It was fine when he was walking around earlier, but the moment Leon gave him that playful, hungry look, his arousal made the tightness in the back almost unbearable.
“Oh. I wore it the wrong way.”
After realizing he had worn it the wrong way, Lucas quickly adjusted his underwear and pulled his pants back on.
A small laugh escaped from his lips.
He couldn’t believe he was going through all this just for Leon.
It was amazing how deeply love could change a person.
Even now, it still felt a little unreal.
He straightened his clothes and stepped out of the restroom.
At that moment, someone bumped into his shoulder on purpose while walking past.
It wasn’t an accident. There was no apology, not even a glance.
Lucas considered confronting the person but decided to let it go.
It was supposed to be a happy day, and he didn’t want to ruin it over something petty.
But then the man suddenly picked a fight.
“What’s this? You bump into someone and don’t even apologize?”
The man’s rough clothes and arrogant tone made it clear he wasn’t a high-ranking noble.
Still, he wasn’t a commoner either. He looked like a low-ranking noble, just bold enough to stir up trouble.
Lucas didn’t want to get dragged into a pointless argument.
He gave a small nod and turned to walk away.
But before he could take a step, the man grabbed him firmly by the shoulder.
“Oh? So you’re some kind of low-level noble?
Probably the son of a rich family from some backwater town.
You’ve got a pretty face, but if you think you can act like this and get away with it, you’re going to have a problem.”
One thing Lucas was thankful for was that, even after giving birth, his naturally strong physique kept others from realizing he was an omega.
He held back the anger rising inside him and responded politely.
“I’m sorry.”
The man scoffed loudly.
“You ruin my mood and think a simple apology makes it all better?”
His lips moved in close to Lucas’s ear.
“I don’t even care if you’re an alpha or an omega. As long as you’ve got a hole back there, that’s all I need.”
Lucas had been trying to stay calm.
He was in a foreign country and still carried noble status, so he had tried to let it go.
But he couldn’t.
He grabbed the man’s arm, twisted away from his grip, and turned his body sharply.
Then, without hesitation, he grabbed the back of the man’s neck and slammed him to the ground.
The man didn’t even have time to resist. His face hit the dirt with a heavy thud.
“You should have listened when I was treating you like a human being.”
“Guh… ugh…”
Lucas pressed his foot down on the man’s head with firm pressure, causing the man to thrash in frustration.
“You have no idea who I am,” the man shouted.
“And you clearly don’t know who I am either, do you?” Lucas replied calmly.
At that moment, a wave of intense heat could be felt from the end of the hallway.
Lucas didn’t need to look. He knew it was Leon.
Startled, he quickly stepped back and removed his foot.
The man pushed himself off the ground with a smug expression.
“So, you finally realized who you were messing with. I won’t forgive this kind of insult—”
Before he could finish, he was slammed back down onto the floor.
Leon had appeared out of nowhere and kicked him hard, sending him straight to the ground.
“What are you supposed to be?” the man groaned.
“Looks like you’re just another alpha who sleeps around with other alphas.”
The man staggered upright, glaring at Leon with mockery in his eyes.
“What did you say? What do you mean by that?” Leon asked, his voice calm but clearly dangerous.
“What? You think glaring at me will change anything? I said you’re fooling around with another alpha. So what?”
Leon couldn’t hold himself back any longer. He grabbed the man by the collar, rage boiling up to the top of his head.
His body was burning, his mind close to snapping. He clenched his teeth hard, forcing himself not to scream every curse that came to his tongue.
He wanted nothing more than to end this man right there.
But he felt Lucas’s hand on his arm and barely managed to stop himself.
“Let go of me. Who do you think you are, you crazy bastard?” the man spat.
He raised his arm, ready to swing a punch.
But Lucas caught the man’s wrist firmly and growled low in his throat.
“If you so much as lay a finger on him, you won’t have a future to worry about. So be smart and walk away.”
His voice was sharp and cold, and the look in his eyes was full of quiet fury.
The man hesitated, clearly shaken, and then slowly backed off without another word.
Leon started to move toward him, but Lucas held him back.
“Stop. That’s enough, Leon. We can’t let trash like that ruin our time together. Let’s go eat.”
Leon let out a long sigh.
Still burning with anger, he let Lucas pull him back to their seats.
He forced himself to eat for Lucas’s sake, but he couldn’t taste a single thing.
That someone had dared to flirt with Lucas in just the short time he had gone to the restroom was infuriating.
What if Lucas hadn’t been strong enough to protect himself?
The thought alone made Leon’s hand tremble around his fork.
If Lucas hadn’t gently cut a piece of meat and brought it to his lips, encouraging him to try it, Leon would have already stormed out after that man.
“Leon, I’m really fine,” Lucas said quietly.
“I know. But still…”
Lucas had done nothing wrong.
So why did Leon feel this angry?
Maybe it was the tension that had been building up ever since they arrived in the Theian Empire.
Maybe it was because none of the desires he had been holding back had been released.
“Lucas, the truth is… during this trip, I…”
Before Leon could finish, Lucas gently completed the thought for him.
“I know. I feel the same way so let’s finish our meal and head back to the hotel,” Lucas said.
Leon nodded quietly. He held his fork and chewed his meat slowly, watching Lucas tear a piece of bread and bring it to his lips.
Today, for some reason, his lips looked even redder, and his eyes seemed deeper than usual.
From the moment Lucas suggested they go back to the hotel, Leon couldn’t think about anything else.
He completely forgot about picking up wine.
As soon as they opened the door and stepped inside, Leon pulled Lucas into his arms and kissed him deeply.
They were on a trip, their meal was done, there were no monsters to worry about, no drunken men causing trouble, and most importantly, no children around to interrupt them.
They had all the time they needed to take things slowly.
But knowing he could finally give in to the desire he had been holding back for so long, Leon simply couldn’t slow down.
“Leon,” Lucas breathed out, his voice trembling.
He gently pushed Leon’s shoulder and guided him to sit on the edge of the bed, trying to steady himself as Leon kissed him with unrelenting hunger.
“You’re not planning to back out now, are you?”
“Of course not,” Lucas replied.
To prove his words, he boldly sat on Leon’s lap.
Leon instinctively wrapped his arms around Lucas’s waist and pressed his lips to his neck. He slid off Lucas’s jacket and let it fall to the floor.
There was nothing in the world to interrupt them now.
So take it slow.
Leon repeated that to himself as he carefully unbuttoned Lucas’s shirt and reached for his waistband.
But just as he was about to undress him further, Lucas suddenly grabbed Leon’s wrist and stopped him.
“What’s wrong?” Leon asked.
“It’s just… I mean…”
