I Became the Cure for the Cursed Prince - Chapter 116 (R19)
Lucas’s labor had begun.
Leon paced anxiously outside the birthing room.
He had promised to be with Lucas through every part of the delivery, but he had to respect Lucas’s wishes.
“I’d rather you come in after the baby is born.”
“…Why?” Leon had asked.
“Because I want to scream and cry as much as I need to. If you’re there, I’ll worry more about you than about myself.”
Leon hadn’t been able to argue with that.
He had wanted to be there precisely because pregnancy and childbirth had been such difficult hurdles for Lucas.
For Lucas’s sake, Leon could endure anything.
“Alright. But once the baby is born, I’ll be by your side.”
“Of course,” Lucas had smiled.
Rather than burden Lucas with more worries, Leon chose to honor his request.
But waiting outside turned out to be far harder than he had imagined.
A long time passed after Lucas had gone into the birthing room.
“…Why is it taking so long? No… it can’t be…”
Dark thoughts crept into Leon’s mind.
Just because the pregnancy had gone smoothly didn’t guarantee an easy delivery.
“I was too careless,” Leon muttered bitterly.
He stumbled down the hallway in a daze and slumped against the wall.
His mind was blank with fear and helplessness.
Should he just rush inside?
But he had promised…
Unable to decide what was right, Leon sat frozen on the floor, staring at the tightly closed door.
“Aaaah!”
Lucas’s scream tore through the silence.
Leon’s head snapped up.
Oddly enough, hearing Lucas’s voice calmed him a little—at least he was still fighting.
Leon got to his feet and walked slowly toward the door.
“Please… please, let it be over soon.”
“Uuaaah!”
Another scream.
Leon couldn’t stand it any longer and reached for the doorknob—
“Please wait, Your Highness.”
It was Exer, who had approached quietly and now firmly grasped Leon’s wrist.
Exer was right.
If Leon barged in now, it would make all their efforts meaningless.
A promise was a promise.
Following Exer’s lead, Leon stepped back from the door and sat down again in the hallway.
As he tried to regulate his breathing, his heart finally began to settle.
“Lord Lucas is stronger than any dominant Alpha I’ve ever known,” Exer said reassuringly.
“He will deliver safely. I am certain of it.”
“Yeah… he will,” Leon replied, gripping his knees tightly.
Even as he spoke with Exer, Leon’s mind never left the birthing room.
He flinched at every cry he heard, each one cutting through his chest like a knife.
If he could, he would have taken Lucas’s place without hesitation.
If it were his own body, he would never let it suffer like this…
Time dragged on painfully, each second feeling like an eternity.
Finally, at long last, the wail of a newborn rang out.
“Waaah!”
“Waaaah!”
“Waaaaah!”
Not one, but three distinct cries filled the air.
Leon’s sharp hearing hadn’t deceived him.
Beside him, unaware, Exer beamed.
“Congratulations, Your Highness! The future of Theian has been born!”
“Yeah… but it seems the future has multiplied by three.”
“…Pardon?”
Leon shot to his feet and burst into the birthing room.
His guess was right.
Three attendants, each cradling a baby, stood lined up before him.
“Your Highness, each child is different in gender and traits,” one attendant announced proudly.
But Leon didn’t even glance at the babies at first—his feet carried him straight to Lucas.
Lucas lay on the bed, eyes closed in exhaustion.
Leon brushed his fingers tenderly across Lucas’s forehead, then leaned down and pressed a kiss there, whispering into his ear.
“I love you. Thank you for being alright.”
He believed Lucas was simply sleeping from exhaustion and would open his eyes soon.
But the longer there was no reaction, the more uneasy Leon became.
“…Lucas?”
A physician standing nearby quickly spoke up.
“He has only fallen asleep from sheer exhaustion, Your Highness.
There is no danger to his life.”
Only then did Leon carefully check Lucas’s condition himself.
Though Lucas was terribly weak, he was indeed safe.
Relieved, Leon finally turned to the attendants holding the babies.
The attendants spoke eagerly.
“An Alpha Princess, Your Highness.”
“An Alpha Prince, Your Highness.”
“Another Alpha Prince, Your Highness.”
Hearing that all three were Alphas made Leon’s mouth stretch into an uncontrollable grin.
A daughter and two sons!
His heart was so full he wanted to throw his arms up and cheer.
Leon reached out toward the little princess.
Michelle, standing nearby, gently took the baby from the attendant and placed her into Leon’s arms.
“Prrr…”
At the familiar, soft rumble from Leon’s chest—a sound he had used to soothe Lucas’s belly—the little princess smiled brightly.
The other two babies did the same.
Holding the princess close, Leon turned and looked at the two princes, smiling so wide his cheeks hurt.
Then he heard it—the soft call he had been waiting for.
“…Your Highness.”
Lucas’s voice.
Leon quickly approached, carefully laying the little princess into Lucas’s arms.
As soon as the baby was nestled against him, she smiled again, recognizing her father’s scent.
Leon’s heart swelled so much it hurt.
Catching Lucas’s eyes, Leon smiled back.
Clearing his throat awkwardly, Lucas spoke.
“I didn’t know… that even newborns could look this beautiful.”
“Of course they are,” Leon said proudly.
“Because they look just like you.”
“But… I think they resemble you even more, Your Highness,” Lucas murmured.
Leon chuckled.
“Who cares who they resemble?
The important thing is that our children are here.”
Leon’s voice began to tremble with overwhelming emotion.
Lucas squeezed Leon’s hand tightly, listening closely to his every word.
“I’m so glad you’re healthy,” Leon said, his voice trembling slightly.
“So am I,” Lucas replied softly.
The two of them sat quietly, still holding hands, their gazes locked on each other.
Meanwhile, the newly assigned nannies gently carried the three newborns away.
Leon and Lucas couldn’t tear their eyes away from the babies.
Michelle, noticing their reluctance, smiled warmly.
“They need to be bathed and dressed properly.
You’ll have plenty of time to see them later.”
Both men nodded simultaneously.
There would be endless moments to adore them in the days ahead.
Even though Lucas’s body was recovering quickly, Leon refused to leave his side.
Even if he had to step out for work, he was never gone for long before returning to Lucas’s room.
Despite the nannies’ presence, Leon insisted on personally caring for the babies whenever he could.
Fortunately, the babies adored him.
Even when they were fussy and crying, a simple soft “prrrr” from Leon was enough to make them beam with joy.
For Lucas, it lifted a huge burden from his shoulders.
One day, feeling strong enough to go outside after weeks of recovery, Lucas dressed carefully.
But when he turned around, he found Leon and the three babies all asleep together.
One baby cradled against Leon’s arm, another sprawled across his stomach, and the third curled against his leg.
Their features were remarkably alike—especially the sharp bridge of their noses and the shape of their lips.
Even more amusing, they all slept in the same position, one leg thrown carelessly over the other.
Lucas couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.
He walked over and whispered softly,
“Leon, Leon…”
Leon blinked awake, bleary-eyed.
“What if they roll off the bed or get hurt?” Lucas scolded gently.
“Mmh… I’ll call the nanny.”
A few moments later, the nanny entered and carefully lifted the babies one by one.
Despite being moved, the babies slept soundly, a testament to how thoroughly Leon had played with them.
“Aren’t you supposed to check your afternoon schedule?” Lucas asked.
“I’m too tired… I don’t think I can,” Leon admitted, collapsing back onto the bed.
It was understandable.
Even caring for one baby was exhausting—let alone three.
And once they grew into rambunctious little cubs, only Leon would be able to manage them.
“That’s alright,” Lucas said, smiling.
“We’ve already done more than enough. It’s okay to rest for a while.”
Lucas changed out of his clothes and slipped under the covers next to Leon.
Sleep claimed him almost immediately.
When Lucas woke sometime later, he felt the heavy weight of Leon’s leg draped over his stomach.
Carefully, he tried to move it aside.
But as soon as he did, Leon’s hand slid up to rest over his chest.
“Nngh…”
A sharp ache pulsed through Lucas’s body.
Even though he had taken herbs to dry up the milk, his chest remained painfully swollen.
Just the slightest touch sent waves of discomfort through him.
He sighed quietly, realizing it would be impossible to keep sleeping next to Leon like this.
“Where are you going?” Leon’s drowsy voice rumbled.
“…I’m just thirsty,” Lucas lied, trying to move.
Leon cracked open one eye and looked down at him.
“Lucas… you’re leaking again.”
Lucas flushed crimson.
Even though it was a natural response, he couldn’t help feeling embarrassed every time it happened.
“I took the herbs—why is it still like this?”
“You had three babies. It’s only natural you have more milk.”
“…I should increase the dosage. Maybe I should go see the physician—ugh.”
Just as Lucas tried to turn away, Leon grabbed his shoulder and gently pulled him back.
“Why go anywhere?” Leon whispered.
“The physician’s practically next door.”
“That’s not—!”
Lucas tried to protest, but Leon cut him off with a low, serious tone.
“You want to show this to someone else?”
Leon pulled Lucas closer, pushing up his shirt.
His chest had swollen again, the skin flushed and tight, and milk dripped freely.
Leon cupped one side gently.
“Nngh…”
A soft whimper escaped Lucas’s lips.
Even though it was meant to be a treatment, the intimacy of it made him squirm.
“It’s alright. Relax.”
Leon bent down and placed his mouth over Lucas’s nipple, sucking softly, his hand massaging gently.
The aching tightness quickly began to ease, and milk flowed freely into Leon’s mouth.
Even the other side responded, leaking without touch.
Lucas’s face burned with shame.
“Why are you… drinking it…?”
Leon chuckled and wiped a drop from the corner of his mouth.
“You should know what our babies are drinking, right?”
Before Lucas could argue, Leon touched Lucas’s lips with his milk-stained fingers, smirking mischievously.
Lucas recoiled, wiping his mouth hastily.
“You’re ridiculous…”
“Tastes sweet. There’s even a hint of vanilla.
No wonder they’re so eager for it,” Leon teased.
“Ugh…” Lucas groaned, embarrassed.
Leon, smiling fondly, returned his mouth to Lucas’s chest, suckling gently.
Despite the intense shame, Lucas felt a strange, tingling pleasure stirring within him.
He glanced down and saw that Leon was already visibly aroused.
