I Accidentally Sent a Love Letter to the School's Most Prestigious Young Lady Instead of My Childhood Friend, and Now She's Bowing to Me, Asking, "Please Date Me—On the Premise of Marriage!" - 30
“Ahh, I’m exhausted…”
It was past four in the afternoon after school. Haru returned to the clubroom and flopped heavily onto the sofa.
“Good work at the club meeting.”
Shion-san offered Haru a mug of coffee, and Haru sat up while accepting it with a “Thanks.”
“You’re being kind even while we’re at war, Shion. Is this what they call giving salt to your enemy?”
Haru’s voice sounded like a normal question rather than a direct challenge. In response, Shion-san answered mildly.
“If I don’t face Haru-san properly and have Yuu-sama choose between us, we can’t begin our married life. There’s no meaning in being a sneaky thief.”
“Well, that’s true,” Haru said after taking a small sip from the steaming cup, then continued with a troubled expression.
“They really pressed me about our lack of activity records…”
“Activity records…?”
“Yeah. Things like not publishing a club magazine or participating in literary festivals, even though we’re the literature club. They said if our club budget gets reduced, we won’t be able to buy new manga anymore. That would seriously suck.”
“……..”
I glanced sideways at Haru as she took small sips of her coffee.
“Well, isn’t that reasonable? No matter how you look at it, it’s strange for operating funds to disappear into this mountain of manga, right?”
“But you know. Even though Shion and I are at war, because this place exists, we can all get along ‘peacefully?’ somehow. I can’t help but worry about what would happen if the club gets disbanded.”
Even Airi, who had shown little interest and was lying face down on the table, chimed in upon hearing those words.
“No disbanding! I finally found a place where I belong, so no disbanding, absolutely not!”
The four of us looked at each other, wondering what to do.
“Guess we have no choice but to write something and post it online?”
“Writing’s a pain. More importantly, how do you even write? What would we write about?”
“Show some pride as the literature club president.”
“That’s where ‘ladies first’ comes in – it’s your job, Yuu.”
“Me? Wait, how is that ‘ladies first’?”
“You don’t call me out on things, so don’t nitpick the details. Just write something. Poetry, diary entries, anything.”
“Even if you ask for dad jokes…”
Just as the discussion was becoming messy – like a crane’s cry or a lifeline – a beautiful, powerful voice rang out.
“Let’s go on a training camp.”
Yuu, Haru, and I all looked in the direction of the voice simultaneously.
The one who had spoken was Shion-san, wearing a savior-like smile.
“I have an acquaintance who runs a hot spring inn. They’re currently closed due to staff shortages, but they’ve invited me to visit anytime I want. Let’s all go together during the upcoming long holiday. What do you think?”
“That’s a great idea!”
Haru agreed with Shion-san and clapped her hands.
“It’ll make us look active, and hot springs mean we can relax… that sounds perfect? It’s frustrating to admit, but I can’t help thinking it’s good to have wealthy young ladies as acquaintances.”
I agreed with Haru too.
“I think it’s fine to accept Shion-san’s kindness here. If the club disappears, school life would definitely become dull.”
Airi raised both arms with a “Hyahha!”
“Yay! Hot springs mean getting naked together! Mixed bathing! Harum get!”
At those words, Shion-san and Haru looked at me with meaningful expressions.
“Though the one getting the Harum would be Yuu-sama, not Airi-san… Since it’s a club training camp, we can’t exactly have just the two future partners…”
“I wonder how many years it’s been since I bathed with Yuu? The last time was in middle school at your house, so about four years? I’ve grown since then too, and I’m getting excited to see how impressive Yuu has become.”
I could see their eyes beginning to sparkle, filling rapidly with anticipation.
Shion-san and Haru were staring at me from head to toe, visually undressing me with their gazes. I couldn’t sense even a trace of restraint or feminine modesty in their looks.
On top of that, Shion-san and Haru were currently fighting over me. Though they interacted peacefully during club activities for now, they must have been holding back their true feelings. Imagining how these two would act at the hot springs sent a shiver down my spine.
Half expectation, half anxiety – this was one scene after the club meeting where I found myself both delighted and holding my head in my hands.
