- Chapter 41.2 - Liu Yu, You Are Simply a Scumbag Alpha!
Liu Yu opened the door and walked out. Wearing a rose-red dressing gown, she walked toward the room next to Lou Qingshuang’s with a swaying gait.
She stood at the door releasing her pheromones. Lou Qingshuang’s pheromones crept out from the crack of the door, clinging piteously to Liu Yu’s body.
The rose was weeping. Liu Yu’s heart trembled, and her eyelashes shook continuously. “I’m sorry.” Liu Yu’s head rested against the door, feeling for the first time that she had been terribly wrong.
She poured her pheromones into the crack of the door. The cold scent of the icefield rose entered and immediately dove into Lou Qingshuang’s pheromone gland, soothing her impatiently.
The furrow in Lou Qingshuang’s brow as she slept fitfully slowly eased, and she fell into a stable sleep.
She often had nightmares—dreaming of her mother passing away in her dreams, a dream where Liu Yu wouldn’t hold her and tell her that everything would be alright, and where no one was with her.
The ambulance hadn’t arrived in time, and when Lou Qingshuang returned, her mother was already gone.
Occasionally, she would also dream of the words Liu Yu had said to her—that she wouldn’t talk about feelings, she only wanted her to be a “canary” in bed.
Standing in the dream, Lou Qingshuang felt as if she were caught in a heavy rain, soaked through and unable to escape that dream.
Liu Yu stood at the door for a long time until Lou Qingshuang’s pheromones became quiet and smooth and stopped weeping. Only then did she move her numbed legs to leave.
Liu Yu went to her mother’s art studio and looked at the last painting her mother had left behind.
It was a grand sea of flowers, and within the flowers lay a skeleton of happiness.
Looking at this two-meter-high painting, Liu Yu felt as if she were looking at her mother.
She looked at a corner at the bottom, a place her mother had left for her. “When you can understand this painting one day, add that stroke here to let me know you are happy.”
Liu Yu reached out to touch that cold, rough, blank corner.
The bright moon in the sky shone through the glass onto the painting; the skeleton in the painting slept very peacefully.
Liu Yu stood before the painting all night, and only when dawn broke did she walk out of the studio, locking it with a key.
At the moment of locking it, Liu Yu looked down at the locked door—had she also locked herself up like this?
Liu Yu lowered her eyes and gripped the key tightly—so tightly that the key bit deep into her palm, its edges drawing blood.
She left the art room and, before returning to her bedroom, released her pheromones once more to soothe Lou Qingshuang.
Lou Qingshuang, who had woken up long ago, sat in the chair before the dressing table, feeling Liu Yu’s pheromones.
The two looked toward each other across a door. Lou Qingshuang did not resist; Liu Yu’s pheromones indeed made her feel much better.
Last night was a rare night where she could sleep despite having a nightmare. Lou Qingshuang’s eyelashes trembled slightly; she should go to the company to work today.
Her pheromone pseudo-heat syndrome had eased; going to work now would have no impact.
Lou Qingshuang changed into the clothes Liu Yu had prepared and applied exquisite makeup. As she pulled open the door, she saw Liu Yu, who had also changed clothes and applied makeup.
Today, Liu Yu had her hair down, wearing a white shirt paired with a black suit. The shirt had two buttons undone, peeking out from the suit sleeves. Her mid-length hair had natural waves, voluminous and layered, bringing together Liu Yu’s aura and facial features—elegant and capable, with a bright aura in every movement.
In that moment, one could feel Liu Yu’s unique charm—forceful and dignified, yet with a lingering, mysterious seduction.
Lou Qingshuang hadn’t seen this side of Liu Yu in a long time; her heart skipped a beat unhelpfully.
The cold temperament had also dissipated a lot, looking particularly full of power.
“Let’s go have breakfast,” Liu Yu invited Lou Qingshuang.
“Mm.” After Lou Qingshuang regained her composure, her eyes dropped, and she did not look at Liu Yu.
Lou Qingshuang was also wearing a white shirt and smoke-gray suit trousers, her shirt tucked into her pants, looking capable and sophisticated with a full sense of fashion.
When the two appeared together, they dazzled the old butler. The powerful and beautiful Liu Yu carried a natural Alpha aura, moving like the wind yet slowing down to walk slowly alongside Lou Qingshuang.
Lou Qingshuang was beautiful and cold, carrying a handbag, her black wavy hair falling onto her shirt with a special charm and beauty that did not hide her cleanliness.
These two walking together were a match made in heaven—a handsome Alpha and a beautiful Omega.
There was a lot to eat on the wide table; every item only had three portions, enough to eat but not excessive.
“These are crab-roe buns; I specifically asked Auntie Liu to make them. She’s a master of pastry, and these are delicious.” Liu Yu picked up a steamer of small crab-roe buns and placed them in front of Lou Qingshuang.
As soon as Lou Qingshuang opened it, the aroma of crab roe burst out. She picked up a bun and took a light bite; the fragrance of the crab roe and the meat complemented each other perfectly—not fishy at all, but very fresh, with a skin so thin it was translucent.
“The taste is not bad.” Lou Qingshuang nodded in approval; having eaten delicious food, the coldness on her face dissipated quite a bit.
Only after seeing her satisfaction did Liu Yu pick up a cup of warm soy milk, took a sip, and began eating breakfast with her.
After breakfast, it was only eight o’clock, and the two had to set off; the commute from here to the city area took an hour.
“Liu Yu, let your driver take me to the company,” Lou Qingshuang said, elegantly wiping her mouth after eating.
“I’ll take you.” Liu Yu put down her chopsticks and also wiped her mouth with a hot towel, rinsed her mouth, and stood up to walk to Lou Qingshuang’s side.
“No need,” Lou Qingshuang refused.
“Is it because my proximity makes you uncomfortable?” Liu Yu dropped her smiling face and looked at her sadly.
Lou Qingshuang’s brow twitched. “A little.” Lou Qingshuang left after saying this, spoke to the bodyguard, and Liu Yu nodded toward the bodyguard.
Lou Qingshuang got into the car. As they passed Liu Yu, Liu Yu still had a very bewildered look; Lou Qingshuang calmly withdrew her gaze.
Only after the car taking Lou Qingshuang had driven far away did Liu Yu sigh; it was all her own doing.
“Chairperson.” The old butler looked at her hesitantly.
“It’s nothing, just that I did something bad myself.” Liu Yu felt a bit dejected.
“Oh, then you should coax Miss Lou properly. Miss Lou is a very good person and would be a very good partner.” Looking at Lou Qingshuang, the old butler felt her pure aura was very attractive; such people often value feelings deeply and are suitable for a Liu Yu who is covered in scars.
“I seem to have lost her before,” Liu Yu said, looking toward the gate.
“Then find her again. Only this time, Chairperson, have a better attitude—be a bit more humble.” The old butler knew her ward was proud, so he offered gentle advice.
“Alright, I will.” Liu Yu’s car arrived too.
“Then I’ll leave first; I’ll come back when I have time.” Liu Yu bent down to enter the car door opened by the bodyguard.
The old butler was overjoyed to hear this. “You can also bring Miss Lou back; see more, play more.”
Liu Yu nodded to her and agreed.
Sitting in the car, Lou Qingshuang looked at the passing scenery and thought of the Liu Yu of these two days. She was actually a bit downcast because she had always been repulsed by marking, yet she had agreed to it.
She also seemed to have developed a dependency on Liu Yu under the influence of the mark, which made Lou Qingshuang very frustrated; she didn’t want to have a shred of affection for Liu Yu, even if it was because of pheromones.
She didn’t want her dignity to be swept away by Liu Yu again.
Agreeing to help her treat her gland and getting through the heat period was fine—only falling in love was not.
The trees outside the window were like Lou Qingshuang’s heart—flashing past quickly, yet always clearly recognized. Trees are trees, and Liu Yu is Liu Yu.
They were both the same—heartless.
As soon as Lou Qingshuang arrived at the company, she threw herself into work until noon, when Bai Wan came to find her.
Bai Wan, wearing a small white suit, asked with concern, “Shuangshuang, how have these past few days been?”
Lou Qingshuang wore goggles and gloves, looking cold and serious; only when she saw Bai Wan did she relax considerably.
“The pseudo-heat syndrome has eased a lot; I’ll need to go to the hospital for a check-up later.” Lou Qingshuang put down the experimental equipment, handed it to the assistant beside her, and walked out.
Bai Wan waited for her in the isolation area. Lou Qingshuang took off the cool white lab coat, removed her goggles, and took off her gloves; only after doing all this did, she walk out of the laboratory.
Bai Wan looked at Lou Qingshuang worriedly, afraid she felt uncomfortable.
“She didn’t do anything to you, did she?” Bai Wan had been very worried these past two days; if she hadn’t been able to chat with Lou Qingshuang at any time, she would have gone to the Liu family’s old residence to check.
Looking at her worried and concerned friend, Lou Qingshuang felt her heart soften.
“I’m fine; she kept her word and didn’t cross any boundaries, only a temporary mark twice,” Lou Qingshuang said, glossing over some facts.
“Then you…” Are you comfortable in your heart? Bai Wan didn’t dare ask the second half.
“She saved my mother twice back then and even helped Wanshuang stand on its feet again; by all rights, I should repay her. She’s facing a life-threatening danger, so I should help her,” Lou Qingshuang said softly. There was no affection in her eyes, only the logic of repaying a debt.
Bai Wan felt a bit of pity; it was all the fault of that old man who refused to help back then.
Otherwise, why would Shuangshuang have to repay the debt this way, staying with someone who had hurt her? How painful that must be.
