- Chapter 38 - Silly, Just Kiss Me Directly
Liu Yu led Lou Qingshuang slowly through the crowd. Lou Qingshuang observed those people who were formidable and decisive figures in the outside world; in front of Liu Yu, they were all very humble.
“Chairman Liu’s recent moves have been made with the force of a thunderbolt, spreading your business empire far and wide. You are truly young and promising; those of us in the older generation can no longer keep up,” said a female Omega in her forties. Her face still held its glamorous beauty as she held a wine glass and chatted with Liu Yu, a smile playing on her lips.
“President Lin is the same. Your production lines have expanded abroad, and you’ve added quite a few subsidiaries during this time, haven’t you?” Liu Yu said with a smile, the two of them exchanging mutual compliments.
Lin Xing smiled without saying a word, her gaze shifting to Lou Qingshuang. “And this is?” Lin Xing asked tentatively, wanting to know Lou Qingshuang’s identity and whether she would interfere with potential marriage alliances.
“She is my girlfriend. She’s just here to enjoy herself today,” Liu Yu introduced her grandly and naturally. She saw Lou Qingshuang raise an eyebrow—was it because she hadn’t expected such a formal public introduction?
The eye contact and the raised eyebrow between the two appeared to Lin Xing as flirtatious banter. She silently took a sip of her wine; it seemed the proposal for a marriage alliance would have to be pushed back.
From the corner of her eye, Lou Qingshuang saw the calculation in Lin Xing’s eyes. Lin Xing nodded to her and said with a smile, “Chairman Liu, I see some friends over there. I’ll go say hello first.”
“Alright, take care,” Liu Yu replied, then led Lou Qingshuang away.
“Does that President Lin have designs on you too?” Lou Qingshuang leaned close to Liu Yu and asked in a low voice.
“She probably wants to form an alliance through marriage; she has a niece,” Liu Yu explained.
“You’re quite popular. I’m going to the restroom; wait for me here,” Lou Qingshuang told Liu Yu, leaving her to stand in the banquet hall.
“Okay.” Liu Yu checked the time; they could leave as soon as Lou Qingshuang came back.
As Lou Qingshuang passed a corner, she overheard someone saying, “Liu Yu is truly ruthless. She can even lay a hand on her own family. I wonder if that little girlfriend of hers is just another one she lured in to play with, hahaha.”
Lou Qingshuang stood behind some beautiful greenery, taking a few steps back to try and see who was talking, but she only heard the sound of footsteps receding.
Frowning, she looked at the greenery. Did these people really think their schemes were so clever?
Lou Qingshuang shook her head and continued toward the restroom. Outside, two female Betas were stationed to provide service to the guests.
After a moment’s thought, Lou Qingshuang realized she wasn’t comfortable with such service, so she turned around and left.
Liu Yu was waiting at the original spot and looked surprised to see her return so quickly. “That fast?”
“No, there were people gossiping, and I found it annoying. Let’s go, let’s head back. I’m tired of dealing with people,” Lou Qingshuang said. They had walked around all evening, and there was no dancing at the banquet; this outfit felt like a waste.
“Then we’ll dance at home. I’m quite a good dancer,” Liu Yu whispered into Lou Qingshuang’s ear.
Lou Qingshuang looked at her with a half-smile but didn’t agree.
Liu Yu tactfully changed the subject. “This jewelry gala is mostly about exhibitions and auctions. I’ve already selected the jewelry I want, so there’s no need to stay for the auction. Let’s go.” Liu Yu led Lou Qingshuang out without even saying goodbye to Madame Isa.
She never stayed at any banquet for more than an hour.
Before leaving, Liu Yu caught a glimpse of Liu Yan leading a young girl. Liu Yan looked furious as she searched for someone. The girl’s clothes were stained with red wine—it was Liu Panpan. Liu Yu recognized her, and her expression turned cold for a moment.
Zhu Rui had also attended this banquet, but she didn’t approach them. She was standing on the second floor, drinking and chatting with a high-profile figure.
That figure looked at Liu Yu with a playful glint in his eyes, his gaze lingering on Lou Qingshuang. “She’s a top-tier beauty.”
Zhu Rui nodded without saying a word. The man glanced at her and said, “The cooperation I promised you will happen.”
Zhu Rui was overjoyed. “Thank you, Young Master Liu.”
“No need for thanks. I’m not like my ‘dear’ cousin who likes to drive everyone to a dead end,” Liu Cheng said, swirling his red wine. The domestic branches had all been taken over by Liu Yu; not a single one of them amounted to anything now.
“Chairman, I just saw someone who looked familiar,” Liu Yu’s secretary, Luo Xiangxue, whispered behind her.
Liu Yu nodded to indicate she was listening. “They looked like someone from the overseas Liu family,” Luo Xiangxue added.
Liu Yu’s eyes instantly turned icy. Her aura surged as she asked coldly, “Are you sure you didn’t see wrong?”
Luo Xiangxue thought for a moment and nodded with certainty. “That person was on the second floor, drinking and chatting. I only caught a glimpse.”
“I understand.” Liu Yu summoned the head of her security team and ordered them to investigate the matter.
Lou Qingshuang waited quietly for Liu Yu to finish her arrangements. Once she was done, Liu Yu simply said, “Just a small issue,” and helped Lou Qingshuang into the car.
The drizzle falling on Liu Yu’s glasses made her look somewhat heartless; even when she was flirting, she gave off an air of cold detachment.
Lou Qingshuang looked into her eyes and said, “You should get in too.”
Liu Yu smiled and nodded, the frost in her eyes dissipating, which allowed Lou Qingshuang to breathe a sigh of relief.
As soon as Liu Yu sat down, the Bentley pulled away.
Following closely behind was Zhu Rui. She watched as Lou Qingshuang entered Liu Yu’s car and thought back to the scenes she had witnessed today.
“I’m getting old; it’s time to retire,” Zhu Rui felt instinctively that Liu Cheng had returned to seize the Liu Corporation, and she didn’t want to be caught in the crossfire.
Inside the car, it wasn’t long before Lou Qingshuang grew drowsy and lay her head on Liu Yu’s lap.
Liu Yu held her, gazing at the streetlights on the mountain road. The mist from the rain shrouded everything; the lights looked dim and heavy as the car glided over the pavement, passing row after row of lamps.
It didn’t matter which member of the Liu family had returned.
The Liu Group was already entirely under her control.
Liu Yu looked down at Lou Qingshuang resting on her lap, the coldness on her face completely melting away, replaced by a flicker of warmth in her eyes.
Lou Qingshuang was falling into her heat cycle again, leaning weakly into Liu Yu’s embrace.
“Shuangshuang,” Liu Yu called out her nickname softly.
“Mm,” Lou Qingshuang opened her eyes to look at her.
“We’ll be home soon. Just hold on a little longer,” Liu Yu said, releasing her pheromones to soothe the other’s craving and clingy scent.
“Okay,” Lou Qingshuang replied, closing her eyes.
Liu Yu thought for a moment. The nearest place was the Liu family’s ancestral estate. “Let’s go back to the old mansion; it’s closer.”
Lou Qingshuang opened her eyes and saw the longing in Liu Yu’s gaze—it was a look that truly yearned for home. She didn’t want to keep traveling either, and the burning sensation at the back of her neck told her she might not be able to hold out much longer. “Okay,” Lou Qingshuang agreed after locking eyes with her for a few seconds.
Why does she want to go home so badly? Shouldn’t going home be a simple thing? Lou Qingshuang didn’t understand as she slowly closed her eyes again.
When they arrived at the old mansion, Lou Qingshuang understood.
There was hardly anyone at Liu Yu’s ancestral home. Only the butler and some staff members remained; there were almost no other members of the Liu family. To the old butler and the staff, this place was their home.
The moment Lou Qingshuang stepped inside, she felt a sense of coldness—colder even than the rain outside.
“Chairman, you’ve returned,” the old butler said, overjoyed to see Liu Yu.
“Has anyone from the family been back recently?” Liu Yu asked, getting straight to the point.
“No, no one has been to the old mansion for a long time. Chairman, why don’t you stay for a few days? A home needs people to feel alive so the family can prosper,” the old butler said, his eyes lighting up with joy when they landed on Lou Qingshuang.
Lou Qingshuang tried her best to remain polite, not having expected Liu Yu to bring her back to her ancestral home.
“Yes, we’ll stay here tonight.” Liu Yu looked at Lou Qingshuang. “Let’s go change our clothes first.”
“Very well, I’ll have things arranged immediately,” the butler said, beaming. He was dressed in a perfectly neat suit, his white hair combed back tidily.
With Liu Yu’s return, the entire mansion seemed to come to life. The lights in the surrounding area were all turned on, making the place look bustling and warm.
“Your house is too big; it’s just so lonely,” Lou Qingshuang said, unable to suppress a shiver at the thought. It had taken ten minutes just to drive from the entrance to the house.
On the way, they had encountered many patrolling bodyguards and dogs.
“Only the butler stays at the old mansion now. I rarely come back to live here. I originally wanted to close it up,” Liu Yu said softly.
“For many reasons, I didn’t. There are still many people here; between the staff and the bodyguards, there are about two hundred people. Rest assured, it’s very safe.” Liu Yu led Lou Qingshuang to the elevator and went to the second floor, where her room was located.
Liu Yu’s room was ordinary and not particularly large, but it was filled with the traces of her life.
The room was simple, decorated in a classical style. The headboard was made of solid wood with simple carvings—it was so modest that it didn’t seem like the residence of someone of Liu Yu’s status.
After the cold wind, the heat in Lou Qingshuang’s body had dissipated a bit. She walked around the room, taking it in.
On the wall, there were height markings, recording Liu Yu’s growth.
“Has this room never changed?” Lou Qingshuang walked over to the wall, touching the markings with her hand. Starting from the bottom, the marks were very gentle, and there was even an encouraging phrase: Little Yu’er has grown taller again.
“No.” Liu Yu walked up behind Lou Qingshuang and embraced her, her eyes falling on those few lines of text. Further up, the markings became fewer and fewer, until the last few were nothing but cold, deep gashes.
“Let’s dance.” Liu Yu, sensing the invitation from Lou Qingshuang’s pheromones, slowly moved closer to her.
Lou Qingshuang’s rationality was slowly fading under the influence of the pheromones. Seeing Liu Yu, whose pheromones were a 100% match, her genetic code chose Liu Yu. She unconsciously softened her voice. “Alright.”
Seeing her agreement, Liu Yu lowered her head and tentatively kissed her. When Lou Qingshuang didn’t pull away, Liu Yu took the next step, pressing her lips against Lou Qingshuang’s. “Shuangshuang, I want to kiss you.”
“Heh, silly, just kiss me directly,” Lou Qingshuang said, her eyes shimmering.
Liu Yu led Lou Qingshuang in a slow dance around the room, their lips pressed together passionately like fire.
The black suit and the white dress were a perfect match, looking like a newlywed couple.
Liu Yu parted her lips and tangled her tongue with Lou Qingshuang’s, leading her in the dance. Lou Qingshuang closed her eyes and tilted her head back, engaging in the back-and-forth with Liu Yu. After their recent practice, both of their lung capacities had improved.
Liu Yu’s eyes were closed as her tongue brushed against the roof of Lou Qingshuang’s mouth, causing Lou Qingshuang to let out an involuntary muffled sound.
Hearing the sound, Liu Yu’s fingers instinctively brushed against Lou Qingshuang’s ethereal, flowing dress, causing the feathers on the front to rub off.
The two continued to dance in the center of the room. Lou Qingshuang leaned against her chest, listening to her heartbeat, as Liu Yu held her hand and led her in a gentle dance.
Their steps moved forward, backward, and in circles. Lou Qingshuang’s skirt flared out in a beautiful arc.
Liu Yu looked at Lou Qingshuang, the light in her eyes shining brightly.
They danced for a long time that night.
