Honey, Open The Door. I Want To Give You The Room Key - Chapter 12
“You should rest here tonight. If you need anything in the future, you can call me anytime.” — Liu Yu.
“You should rest here tonight. If you need anything in the future, you can call me anytime.” Liu Yu brought over clean pajamas and new underwear, placing them on the sofa.
Lou Qingshuang sat cross-legged on the sofa. At this moment, her expression was blurred and drowsy; her courage had grown significantly after getting drunk.
Lou Qingshuang reached out and grabbed Liu Yu, her eyes filled with a mix of haze and sadness. She tilted her head up like a kitten drenched by the rain, shrinking back as she asked, “If… if I sleep with you once, can you let Wanshuang go?”
Liu Yu stood in place, her gaze instantly becoming sharp. She flipped her hand to grab Lou Qingshuang’s hand, pinning her down onto the sofa, her hair scattering across the cushions.
Looking at the person pressing down on her, Lou Qingshuang instinctively closed her eyes, her body trembling. Liu Yu lowered her head, her breath brushing against the tip of Lou Qingshuang’s nose. Her eyes were dark, swirling with surging desire. Ultimately, Liu Yu only lowered her head to press a light kiss against the corner of her mouth before pulling away.
She remained leaning over, hovering above Lou Qingshuang’s body, leaving a small gap between them. Liu Yu did not go any further to scare her. Her strands of hair fell onto Lou Qingshuang’s face, the itching sensation forcing Lou Qingshuang to open her eyes.
Liu Yu looked into her eyes and said in a low, husky voice, “The one attacking Wanshuang has never been me.”
Lou Qingshuang stared into Liu Yu’s eyes, stunned. It really isn’t her?
Feeling the pressure emanating from Liu Yu and the extreme proximity between them, Lou Qingshuang uncomfortably tried to get up, but she was held down. The two stared at each other for a long time until finally, Liu Yu suppressed all her desires and let go.
“When you wake up, come and ask me again.”
Liu Yu stood up and walked away, leaving Lou Qingshuang to compose herself.
Lou Qingshuang lay on the sofa looking at the bright lights, her mind a blank. She still hadn’t recovered from the pressure Liu Yu had just exerted. Fortunately, Lou Qingshuang closed her eyes, fortunately Liu Yu didn’t go any further. A tear from the corner of her eye fell into her hair.
Her overcoat lay spread out on the sofa, permeated with Liu Yu’s scent. Lou Qingshuang fell asleep just like that.
When Liu Yu came out after her shower and saw the person who was completely unguarded, she remained silent for a long time before picking up a blanket and covering Lou Qingshuang.
On the other side, Shen Yue left the Lou family residence, her face exceptionally grim.
“What did Xinyu Company say?” The questioning voice from the other end of the line made Shen Yue frown, her eyes turning ruthless.
“I only just got back on the first day. How could she possibly tell me?” Shen Yue retorted unceremoniously.
With two beeps, the call ended.
Shen Yue sat in her car and thought for a long time, eventually deciding to stay at a hotel for the night.
When Lou Qingshuang woke up, the sky was already bright.
Suffering from a hangover, her head throbbed painfully, and she smelled strongly of alcohol. Lou Qingshuang rarely allowed herself to lose control, especially to the point of mental confusion.
She sat on the sofa as the memories of last night slowly trickled back. She raised her hand to touch the corner of her mouth; Liu Yu had left two kisses there last night.
Lou Qingshuang covered her face, filled with mortification.
Last night, after arguing with Shen Yue, she had gone to a bar to drown her sorrows in a fit of anger and anxiety. Once drunk, she had called Liu Yu, wanting her to let her go.
Holding her head, she looked at her rumpled clothes—the same ones she had worn out the night before. She breathed a sigh of relief, but then she remembered asking Liu Yu: “If I sleep with you once, can you let Wanshuang go?”
Lou Qingshuang covered her face in a breakdown. Thank goodness Liu Yu hadn’t actually done anything, or she truly wouldn’t be able to face anyone.
Liu Yu watched the person on the monitor covering her face in agony and let out a light chuckle. Quite cute.
Anxious to flee, Lou Qingshuang hurriedly put on her shoes, wanting only to escape this place. She sent Liu Yu a text message and quietly slipped out the door.
When Liu Yu walked out of the study, she happened to hear the sound of the front door closing.
Dressed in soft loungewear, she looked at the closed door, her gaze falling on the neatly folded cashmere blanket.
“You are welcome a second time,” Liu Yu whispered quietly to the blanket.
Once there was a first time, there would be countless times to follow. Eventually, there would be a time when she would stay with her willingly.
After rushing away from Liu Yu’s residence, Lou Qingshuang took a taxi to Bai Wan’s house.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bai Wan opened the door in a rage, only to see her best friend looking exhausted and reeking of alcohol. She gasped, “Shuangshuang?”
Lou Qingshuang pushed past her and said wearily, “Let me in to catch my breath.”
She leaned back against Bai Wan’s large sofa, looking utterly drained. “Who was chasing you?”
Bai Wan poked her head out to look around but saw no one.
“I stayed at Liu Yu’s house last night,” Lou Qingshuang dropped a bombshell.
“What?!” Bai Wan shrieked, padding over in her slippers to huddle in front of Lou Qingshuang. “What did you say?”
“I got drunk last night and called Liu Yu to pick me up. She took me back to her place,” Lou Qingshuang said feebly, rubbing her forehead.
Bai Wan grabbed her hand and shook it excitedly. “Sister, do you realize what you’re saying?!”
“Shen Yue wants me to quit Wanshuang and go back to being her full-time housewife,” Lou Qingshuang said softly with her eyes closed.
“What! That bastard! She used to look so decent, but now she’s trying to undermine me! Doesn’t she know that Wanshuang is at its most critical moment?” Bai Wan cursed in a rage.
Everyone knew that Lou Qingshuang was the core of Wanshuang. The products she researched were the foundation of the company.
Now, with one sentence, she was told to quit. That would mean Wanshuang would be completely destroyed. What would happen to her and Lou Qingshuang’s hard work? What about their current bitter persistence!
No wonder Lou Qingshuang wanted to go beg Liu Yu.
After her initial anger passed, Bai Wan asked, “You didn’t go to Liu Yu because of this, did you?”
“Shuangshuang, it’s not worth it.” Bai Wan tremblingly checked her friend’s body, tears already starting to well up.
Seeing Bai Wan’s expression as she held back tears to check her over, Lou Qingshuang couldn’t help but laugh. “Liu Yu didn’t do anything to me. She just said a few things.”
“She could actually hold back?” Bai Wan didn’t believe it. In her mind, Liu Yu was no different from an old pervert.
She specifically checked Lou Qingshuang’s nape; seeing no marks, she finally sighed in relief.
“I wanted to offer myself to get Liu Yu to let us go, but she said the one acting against Wanshuang has never been her. Wanwan, I don’t know what’s going on, but I have a bad feeling in my heart,” Lou Qingshuang said to Bai Wan, clutching her racing heart, looking lost.
“Shuangshuang, don’t be afraid. We’ll go to the Taoist temple today to pray and get rid of the bad luck. If it really comes down to it, I’ll go back and agree to the marriage arrangement. It won’t come to you having to sell yourself.” Bai Wan hugged Lou Qingshuang, her tears flowing freely.
“It’s not worth it. Who knows what kind of fetishes that old celibate freak Liu Yu has in private. And Shen Yue is no good either, taking advantage of the situation to suggest that—she certainly knows how to stick the needle in the gap.” After holding in the pressure for so long, Bai Wan finally broke down crying.
The two sisters hugged and wept together. Lou Qingshuang’s eyelashes flickered as her tears fell silently, while Bai Wan wailed loudly, her cries echoing through the villa.
Liu Yu, listening through the bug she had placed on Lou Qingshuang, curled her lips into a faint, somewhat ironic smile at the sound of their wailing.
Listening to Lou Qingshuang’s soft sobbing, she could almost imagine her little rose wilting. Lou Qingshuang cried very gracefully, with thin, slight whimpers. That indescribable sense of grievance made Liu Yu’s heart twitch.
Liu Yu raised her hand to her chest. It felt like a needle prick—a very slight, faint sting.
“Chairwoman, you didn’t do anything to Ms. Lou last night, did you?” Zhu Yan, who had received the news early that morning, asked tremulously as she watched Liu Yu touch her heart.
Liu Yu glanced up at her. “What do you think I would do?”
Hearing this response, Zhu Yan immediately breathed a sigh of relief and said tentatively, “I was just afraid you wouldn’t be able to control yourself and would ruin Ms. Lou’s impression of you again.”
Liu Yu heard that the two were preparing to go to the Taoist temple. The moment the front door closed, Liu Yu used her phone to deactivate the magnetism of the bug, causing it to fall off automatically. The device rolled on the floor and self-destructed.
Liu Yu suppressed the possessiveness in her heart and waited quietly for the right moment.
The bug she had placed on Lou Qingshuang was only to ensure she got home safely. Now that she was safe, it was no longer needed.
Bai Wan and Lou Qingshuang knelt in the main hall of the Taoist temple, praying fervently.
“O Immortals, please sever the ill-fated karmic ties surrounding Shuangshuang.”
Lou Qingshuang prayed for the company’s safety, for her mother’s health, and for her and Bai Wan to survive this crisis.
Gazing at the majestic yet compassionate eyes of the deity statue sitting in the hall, Lou Qingshuang bowed respectfully. I hope the gods will soon sever the ill-fated karma upon me and restore my peaceful life.
