Hold Tight to the Female Lead's Thigh [Transmigration GL] - Episode 37
After dinner and a nap, not only had Guan Fusha not returned, but even An Xianli hadn’t shown up again.
Taohua stared blankly at the door, her gaze fixed and vacant.
If she didn’t know that children raised in righteous sects were generally simple-minded, she would have thought An Xianli was deliberately toying with her, never to return.
He had taken so long without giving her an answer. It seemed the stubborn old sect leader of Tianlun Sect didn’t believe her and was unwilling to agree to the plan.
As for Guan Fusha… sigh. Although that note had given her some reassurance, she still had no idea when Guan Fusha would actually come.
Taohua lay down on the bed, staring at the plain white mosquito net above, lost in idle thought.
“Step aside. I need to go in.”
“No, Senior Brother. Without the sect leader’s orders, I can’t let you in.”
Taohua recognized An Xianli’s voice and immediately sat up in bed, her eyes lighting up as she looked toward the door.
“Then don’t blame me for being impolite.”
“Senior Brother, ah—”
After a brief scuffle, the sound of something heavy hitting the ground echoed from outside. Overjoyed, Taohua leaped off the bed and hurried to the door.
At the same time, the door was forcefully pushed open, and An Xianli, dressed in a blue robe, stumbled in. His clothes were disheveled, his eyes bloodshot, and his chin covered in stubble. He looked utterly exhausted, a far cry from his usual gentle and refined demeanor.
“Young Master An?” Taohua was startled by his appearance. “What happened to you?”
“Miss Cui.” An Xianli was about to explain when a commotion erupted outside.
Taohua was completely bewildered. What was going on? Had the Night God Sect attacked? Or had the four major sects suddenly turned on each other?
An Xianli’s expression shifted. He glanced outside, thought for a moment, and quickly made a decision.
Ignoring propriety between men and women, he grabbed Taohua’s hand and pulled her outside. “My apologies, Miss Cui. I hope you’ll forgive the offense.”
Caught off guard by his sudden pull, Taohua stumbled and nearly fell. She tried to free her hand, but An Xianli’s grip was too strong. “Wait, Young Master An, where are you taking me?”
“It’s a long story, but this is no place to linger. Just come with me,” An Xianli replied without looking back.
Taohua felt something was off. Besides, Guan Fusha’s note had instructed her to wait patiently. If she ran off now, how would Guan Fusha find her later?
“No, I can’t leave with you!” Despite her struggles, she couldn’t overcome the difference in strength between them.
By the time they finished speaking, the two had already left the courtyard where Taohua had been confined.
Growing increasingly anxious, Taohua kept glancing back at the courtyard behind them. “Where exactly are you taking me?”
“Away from here,” An Xianli replied, cautiously scanning their surroundings.
“…What?” Taohua was stunned. Could it be An Xianli was planning to sneak away with her?
Just then, two Tianlun disciples appeared around the corner. They were shocked to see An Xianli and Taohua in the courtyard. “Senior Brother? What are you doing here? And this demoness… wasn’t she locked up?”
An Xianli inwardly cursed his misfortune. He released Peach Blossom’s hand and, with a flicker of movement, positioned himself in front of the two Tianlun disciples.
“Senior Brother…” one of the disciples began, intending to ask for an explanation, but An Xianli suddenly reached out and tapped his pressure point. The disciple immediately collapsed, falling into a deep slumber on the ground.
The other Tianlun disciple, witnessing this, widened his eyes in shock and panic. “Senior Brother, what are you doing?!”
A trace of guilt flashed across An Xianli’s face. He turned away and said, “I’m sorry, Junior Brother.”
Before the other disciple could react, he too was struck at his pressure point and slumped to the ground, unconscious.
“I’m sorry, truly sorry, both of you!” After quickly settling the two disciples, An Xianli immediately returned to Peach Blossom and said, “Miss Cui, let’s go.”
“Wait a moment.” Peach Blossom hid her hands behind her back, eyeing him warily. “What exactly is going on? Why are you taking me away? Why did you knock them out? They’re your junior brothers!”
An Xianli lowered his head, remaining silent for a moment before speaking. “Regarding the proposal you made yesterday…”
“Your sect leader didn’t agree?” Peach Blossom interjected first.
“Yes.” An Xianli nodded and continued, “Because we captured you without authorization, we angered the Beikun Sect. They have withdrawn from the righteous alliance against the Night God Cult and refuse to provide us with any information about them. It seems they intend to settle matters with Guan Fusha privately. So, as of now, we still know nothing about the Night God Cult.”
Hearing this, Peach Blossom finally understood. “So, you plan to rescue me and have me infiltrate the Night God Cult to gather intelligence for you? And for that, you’re willing to defy your sect leader’s orders?”
“Exactly.” An Xianli’s expression was resolute.
“…”
Peach Blossom didn’t know whether to call him naive or foolish. Even if she was coerced, she was still part of the underworld. How could this idiot trust her so easily!
“Miss Cui,” An Xianli said earnestly, “Even if no one else believes in you, I know that you are a kind-hearted person. You, like us, possess a sense of justice. As long as we work together, we can definitely defeat the Night God Cult!”
