Hold Tight to the Female Lead's Thigh [Transmigration GL] - Episode 35
Peach Blossom fell silent for a long moment. “Even if you won’t help me escape, could you at least tell me where I am and who captured me?”
Scarlet smiled, watching Peach Blossom with keen interest. She had initially assumed that Peach Blossom would be utterly devastated upon learning the truth, yet here she was, calmly assessing the situation and considering her own circumstances. Could it be that she already knew everything? Or perhaps she simply didn’t care that Guan Fusha was using her?
Lowering her gaze, Scarlet’s mind began to race.
If Peach Blossom truly had no feelings for Guan Fusha, then no matter how well Guan Fusha treated her or how deeply she cared, it would all be in vain. If that were the case, perhaps one day Guan Fusha would finally recognize A’Tian’s feelings for her.
At this thought, Scarlet couldn’t help but let out a bitter smile, her heart aching. Perhaps all those years ago, she should have accepted the sect leader’s proposal to become his disciple. If she had, her status would have been on equal footing with Guan Fusha’s, and maybe then, A’Tian would have.
Recalling the snowy night years ago when she first met A’Tian, Scarlet sighed softly.
After a long silence with no response from Scarlet, Peach Blossom couldn’t resist asking, “Miss Scarlet, are you still there?”
Snapping out of her reverie, Scarlet pushed aside the memories of the past. “Don’t worry, you’ll find out tomorrow.”
Peach Blossom frowned slightly, about to press further, when a gentle breeze brushed her face. Soon after, the room fell into silence once more, suggesting that Scarlet had already departed.
“……”
Staring blankly into space for a while, Peach Blossom lay back down on the bed. Her eyes wide open, she gazed into the pitch-black surroundings, her sleepiness completely gone. Scarlet’s words echoed incessantly in her mind.
So, Guan Fusha had been using her all along.
But upon reflection, it made sense. They had met by chance, and not only had Guan Fusha saved her, taken her back to the Night God Sect to recover, but she had also arranged for Dongfang Wen to take her as a disciple and helped her secure the position of Left Protector.
In truth, everything she had now was given to her by Guan Fusha. If Guan Fusha hadn’t picked her up outside the Ruyi Hall and brought her to the Night God Sect, she might have been captured by the Cui elders, forced to obediently await marriage in her chambers, destined to serve a husband and raise children.
The mere thought of the Cui elders’ faces filled Peach Blossom with disgust. In their eyes, Cui Taohua was nothing more than a tool for political marriage. They cared nothing for her happiness; if she brought no benefit to the Cui family, they wouldn’t even spare her a second glance. Perhaps that was why the original Cui Taohua’s personality had become so twisted.
To be honest, compared to being used as a political pawn by the Cui elders. Married off to some decrepit old man in his fifties with a house full of wives and concubines, forced to live a life of scheming and fighting for inheritance—she would much rather be used by Guan Fusha. At least everything she had now was the result of her own choices, and she would have no regrets in the future.
Rolling over, Peach Blossom suddenly recalled that day outside the peach grove, when Guan Fusha had confessed her feelings with such sincere eyes. Her mood grew somewhat complicated.
She believed Guan Fusha’s feelings were genuine. If it were purely about using her, there would have been no need for Guan Fusha to confess. Moreover, this was ancient times. Same-sex relationships were a highly sensitive topic, and mishandling it could easily breed resentment. There was no reason for Guan Fusha to take such a risk just to deceive her into staying.
All along, she had been receiving Guan Fusha’s help yet had never done anything in return. In truth, there seemed to be nothing she could do for Guan Fusha anyway. So, upon learning the truth, she felt an inexplicable sense of relief. The burden of indebtedness to Guan Fusha had finally vanished.
Taohua’s lips unconsciously curved into a smile. Though she didn’t know what mindset Yan Hong had in telling her this, it was likely meant to disappoint her. Even if Guan Fusha had used her, she had also given her equal freedom and a life. Taohua didn’t feel there was anything worth getting angry about. If anything, Yan Hong’s intentions intrigued her more. This recent “story,” combined with the previous “tea-tasting” in the punishment hall—could it be that Yan Hong truly intended to rebel against Guan Fusha? What should she do? Should she inform Guan Fusha about this? But now, just as the four major orthodox sects had formed an alliance vowing to eradicate the Night God Cult, if Yan Hong and Guan Fusha were to fall out, the Night God Cult would truly be in grave danger!
Moreover, the current plot had completely derailed. She had no idea whether Guan Fusha and An Xianli had met yet, or if their relationship would develop as it had in the original story. But with the Night God Cult’s tense relations with the orthodox sects, even if they were drawn to each other, it would be difficult for anything to develop, right?
Thinking of this, Taohua couldn’t help but secretly chuckle.
Perhaps because she had slept too much earlier, Taohua tossed and turned for most of the night without any sign of drowsiness. It wasn’t until the sky began to lighten that she slowly drifted off to sleep.
“Open the door.”
“Yes, Sect Leader!”
A clamor outside the door gradually roused Taohua. Struggling to lift her heavy eyelids, she saw the door swing open as a group of people dressed in blue robes filed in grandly.
Taohua immediately spotted An Xianli among the crowd. She yawned and rose unhurriedly.
The white-haired elder at the front, with a long, snow-white beard, looked down at her condescendingly. “So, you’re that demoness’s junior sister?”
Taohua rolled her eyes and couldn’t be bothered to respond.
“Insolence! How dare you show such disrespect to the Sect Leader!” One of the men, unable to tolerate her attitude, snapped angrily.
“Let it be.” The Tianlun Sect Leader raised a hand to stop him and snorted coldly. “What can you expect from these demonic cult followers? Do you think they understand the meaning of ‘courtesy’?”
“How amusing,” Taohua sneered, unable to hold back. “It seems to me that it’s you, the Tianlun Sect Leader, who doesn’t understand what ‘courtesy’ means!”
“You demoness! How dare you slander the Sect Leader?!” The man pointed at her, fuming.
Taohua scoffed disdainfully. “You call tying me up and throwing me in this room ‘courtesy’? A dignified sect leader shows no humility, speaking to me with such arrogance—is that ‘courtesy’? Referring to us as ‘demoness’ at every turn—is that ‘courtesy’?”
“You…!” The man was left speechless, unable to refute her.
Taohua let out a cold laugh. “Since you show no courtesy, why should I be polite to you?”
Standing amidst the crowd, An Xianli felt utterly ashamed. Indeed, regardless of the sect leader’s earlier attitude toward this young woman, the fact that they, as members of the righteous path, had resorted to kidnapping. A tactic commonly associated with wicked sects was enough to fill him with disgrace.
“Enough nonsense!” The sect leader, embarrassed by Peach Blossom’s reprimand, quickly steered the conversation back on track. “I ask you, where is the Night God Cult’s headquarters? How many followers are in your cult? Are the eight hall masters and four elders all present within the cult? And what about Dongfang Wen and Guan Fusha, that demon… Are they also in the cult?”
Peach Blossom rolled her eyes. “Don’t you know I was just captured from the North Kun Sect? Since I’m not even in the cult, how would I know how many people are there or who’s present?”
“This…” The sect leader was momentarily speechless. Upon reflection, her words did make sense. “Then you must at least know the location of the Night God Cult’s headquarters?”
“I don’t,” Peach Blossom retorted irritably. “I was unconscious when I entered the Night God Cult, and I was unconscious when I left.”
“Hmph! You demoness, clearly you’re making excuses!” The man stepped forward, pointing at Peach Blossom, completely disbelieving her words.
“Believe it or not, it’s up to you. I’ve told you nothing but the truth.” Peach Blossom yawned, feeling utterly exhausted and in no mood to argue further with these old-fashioned figures.
“Sect Leader, what should we do?” A middle-aged man of seemingly high status leaned in and whispered into the sect leader’s ear. They had assumed this girl would obediently reveal information about the Night God Cult once she understood her predicament, but she proved stubborn, refusing to disclose a single word.
The sect leader stroked his snow-white beard, pondering for a moment. “Young lady, you must understand your current status as a prisoner. If you refuse to cooperate, the consequences… I’m sure you can imagine.”
Peach Blossom shot him a cold glance and sneered, “The esteemed leader of the Tianlun Sect resorting to threats?”
Her words caused a shift in the expressions of everyone present.
“You demoness, refusing a toast only to be forced to drink a forfeit!” The man charged forward, clearly intent on teaching Peach Blossom a lesson.
“Uncle, wait!” An Xianli quickly stepped in to restrain him. He glanced around at the others before approaching the sect leader and lowering his voice to propose, “Sect Leader, when I was at the North Kun Sect, I briefly crossed paths with this young woman. At the time, she could have easily taken my life but chose not to. I believe she is a person of good heart. I beg you to allow me to speak with her.”
“Well…” The sect leader stroked his beard, contemplating for a moment before replying, “Very well, Xianli. I hope you can persuade her.”
If possible, he too preferred to resolve the matter through dialogue. However, this young woman had proven utterly uncooperative. Still, he trusted Xianli’s abilities.
“Thank you, Sect Leader.” An Xianli was overjoyed. “I will do my utmost to convince her.”
“Mm.” The sect leader cast a glance at Peach Blossom before addressing the others, “Let’s go. We shall withdraw for now.”
The group filed out of the room as grandly as they had entered, leaving only the two of them behind.
“Young lady,” An Xianli stepped forward, cupping his hands in a respectful salute. “Although I’ve asked before, may I inquire once more. What is your esteemed name?”
Peach Blossom glanced at him, and after a long pause, she reluctantly said, “…Cui Taohua.”
“So, it’s Miss Cui.” An Xianli dared not approach too closely, mindful of the propriety between men and women, and thus spoke to Peach Blossom from a distance.
