Hey! Control Yourself! - Chapter 15
Chapter 15: That Was the First Kiss
“Good grief, nobody told me that coming back meant writing lab reports!”
A wail of despair drifted over the school grounds.
Lei Yi was sprawled across a levitating sphere in the Science and Technology Hall, looking utterly soulless. Sha Mo sat nearby, quietly organizing data, while Royce was still busy typing up a report.
Only Shen Ji was sleeping off to the side.
“We’ve been back for two days. Why is Shen Ji still sleeping?”
Since their return from Gaya, Shen Ji’s lethargy had clearly worsened. Sha Mo said with concern, “I always feel like he has a lot of secrets—secrets he was forced to leave behind in Gaya.”
Lei Yi and Royce remained silent.
Two days ago…
Gaya, Forest City, Green Palace.
“It’s almost time to go back,” Royce noted, checking the time on his light-brain.
The group followed the location signal to find Shen Ji. Along the way, they saw people with faces full of confusion and disorientation, as if a massive pressure was weighing down the air. Some people had begun to flee from this terrifying aura. Lei Yi and the others moved against the crowd, heading deeper in.
The closer they got, the more a powerful pheromone shifted from a faint scent to a thick, suffocating presence. Royce and the others felt their heartbeats racing out of control.
“What on earth is going on?”
They followed the signal to a room door. “Shen Ji is inside.”
The moment they touched the door, a terrifyingly powerful aura immediately surged through every one of their nerves. Royce and Lei Yi’s pupils trembled.
“This is… an Omega?” Royce said in disbelief.
Why was there an Omega’s scent? Both Royce and Lei Yi possessed S-class mental energy; originally, even Bruton’s Enigma pheromones hadn’t been able to affect them, yet now they were being awed by an Omega’s pheromones.
A single Omega’s scent had intimidated everyone inside the Forest Palace. Alpha pheromones were leaking uncontrollably, turning the entire corridor into a chaotic mess of scents. Royce and Lei Yi couldn’t help but tremble.
It was at this awkward moment that the transition machine activated and brought them back. By the time they regained consciousness, Shen Ji was beside them; the machine had returned the group accurately.
“Who do you guys think that Omega pheromone belonged to?” Lei Yi leaned in to gossip.
“You don’t suspect…” Royce frowned.
“Could it have been emitted by Shen Ji?” Sha Mo asked in surprise.
Lei Yi snapped his fingers. “Exactly. At the time, the light-brain showed Shen Ji was right there in that room.”
Lei Yi and Sha Mo turned to look at the sleeping Shen Ji. They noted his fair, delicate skin, his long eyelashes, and his slender fingers.
“Are you crazy?” Royce closed his eyes.
“Since Shen Ji transferred here, only his records say he’s an Alpha. But has any of us actually smelled his pheromones? Moreover, with Shen Ji’s terrifying mental energy, it would make sense for his pheromones to have that kind of pressure,” Lei Yi analyzed, instantly turning into a detective.
Sha Mo silently applauded him.
Royce didn’t want to continue the topic and closed his eyes. “Just write the report. Send over the photos you took in Gaya; I’ll have the light-brain handle the layout.”
Sha Mo and Lei Yi opened their photo albums. “Wait, why are all my photos blank?”
“Mine too.”
Upon hearing this, Royce opened his own album. Sure enough, every photo related to the Gaya experiment had turned blank. The group looked at each other, a chill running down their spines; perhaps an invisible power had placed a taboo on the information.
“Forget it. At least we brought Bruton’s gland back to the mentor. We didn’t come back empty-handed.”
In the Mentor’s Office.
“Let’s set the photo issue aside for now. There’s something more important.” The mentor clicked on a holographic projection. “The four high-ranking officers you killed in Gaya were from the Federation’s First Legion. The Federation has taken a huge loss this time.”
“About that—Lei Yi already live-streamed the whole thing. It proves we acted in self-defense,” Royce said.
The mentor looked at Shen Ji. “But you know how thick-skinned the Federation is. They are now demanding that Shen Ji go to the Interstellar Court to stand trial.”
Lei Yi exploded. “On what grounds?!”
“Because of that mental energy pistol. The Federation keeps insisting that Shen Ji used a mental energy weapon to shoot unarmed Federation citizens. Hah, they’re arguing it was a unilateral massacre and a violation of humanitarianism.”
“So you’re not going to compromise, right?!” Lei Yi was even more agitated.
“How could we? This move by the Federation is just a tactical retreat; they’re just trying to be shameless.”
Shen Ji asked, “So what do they ultimately want?”
“They want half of this Enigma gland. We haven’t agreed yet.” The mentor pulled out the gland preserved in formalin.
Something that could crush high-level mental energy users with just a deterrent pheromone—who wouldn’t want something more terrifying than a biochemical weapon?
“Bruton’s deterrent pheromones didn’t work on us,” Royce noted.
The mentor said gravely, “How could they not work? Logically, even an Enigma without mental energy should exert infinite pressure on other genders. So, could there be something wrong with this gland?”
“Let me ask you, were there any other Enigmas present at the time?”
Lei Yi replied, “The Third Prince only had that fainted butler nearby, but that guy shouldn’t be an Enigma.”
“If his pheromones didn’t work on you, it’s very likely that someone even higher-ranked than an Enigma was hidden among those present. That would explain the phenomenon.”
“I thought it was just because we were strong enough,” Lei Yi muttered, rubbing his chin in confusion.
Royce cast a glance at the silent Shen Ji. Lei Yi and Sha Mo also had complex expressions, recalling their previous discussion. Perhaps Shen Ji truly wasn’t an Alpha, nor an Omega, but…
The mentor gave them a few more instructions before letting them go. He reminded them that they would have to return to Gaya in a few days. Last time, the transition had missed the mark; now that the machine was calibrated, they should be able to reach Gaya year 4212 accurately.
The school also awarded them a bonus.
Leaving the office, the group looked at the bonus and prepared to go out for a celebratory meal. Just as their shuttle flew out of Baibao’s gates, several stealth escorts began flying alongside them.
Royce contacted the mentor again. The mentor sounded helpless. “Do you have no self-awareness at all? Don’t you know what your situation is?”
The group was confused. “?”
“The Gaya transition experiment was a secret, unknown to the general public. After Lei Yi accidentally live-streamed it, you became an interstellar sensation.”
“We’re famous?” Lei Yi immediately opened his account and gasped. “Ten thousand, a million, ten million… ninety… over nine billion followers! I have over nine billion followers?”
“Ha, impressive.” Sha Mo had over seven billion followers himself.
The mentor continued, “The reason you’ve been able to write your reports in peace for the past two days is because the school suppressed the news. Once you show your faces, it’s likely to cause a riot. The escorts are standard procedure. I suggest you don’t go out for now to avoid causing traffic congestion.”
“Royce, what’s your follower count?” Royce opened his page—nearly ten billion.
They turned to look at Shen Ji. His follower count should be at least double theirs, considering he was the one who took down the enemies during the stream.
Shen Ji: “I haven’t opened a social media account.” The group let out a disappointed “ah.”
Lei Yi floated over and whispered, “Shen Ji, what exactly happened in that room? That Omega pheromone…”
Shen Ji’s brow furrowed sharply, his expression shifting into an awkwardness that looked like he was hiding something difficult to say. Lei Yi’s eyes widened; it was the first time he had seen such a look on Shen Ji.
“You didn’t… lose your ‘innocence’ to Sheng Lu, did you?!”
Six eyes stared at him simultaneously. The veins on Shen Ji’s forehead pulsed. “No.”
“Still being stubborn.”
Shen Ji remembered that Omega pheromone very clearly. It came from Sheng Lu—a pheromone perhaps even more terrifying than an Enigma’s. It was mellow, rich, and lethal; it had wrapped around him tightly, invading his skin and penetrating his bones, as if it wanted to swallow him alive.
And he, indeed, had been attracted by that scent. At that moment, Sheng Lu had kissed him first.
For heaven’s sake, that was his first kiss. That pervert…
Shen Ji brushed his fingers against the corner of his lips. The moist sensation and the lingering breath were still vivid, as if it had happened just a moment ago. He could feel Sheng Lu’s hand trembling on his shoulder, and those shimmering ear fins glowing faintly before his eyes.
“Shen Ji…” that restless, passionate voice had whispered in his ear, bewitching him.
He was lured by that voice, occupied by Sheng Lu’s eyes, wanting to embrace the Omega before him. Yet, the logic in his heart forced him to exercise restraint, to control his own pheromones so that things wouldn’t spiral out of control.
So, during the kiss, Shen Ji had bitten him. A hint of blood spread between their lips and tongues.
“Wonderful, baby…” This clearly made Sheng Lu pause for a moment before he descended into an even more frantic excitement. He took a deep breath and laughed with a twisted sense of satisfaction, his injured tongue excitingly tracing Shen Ji’s teeth, rubbing the warm, thin blood against those glistening lips.
Shen Ji felt a sense of lightheadedness, and he began to respond to Sheng Lu’s kiss. In Sheng Lu’s triumphant, pathological eyes, there was nothing but intense desire. The shimmering scales beneath his skin extended all the way down to his collarbone.
Shen Ji reached out to touch those scales. They felt like skin—smooth and resilient, where he could almost feel the pulse of blood beneath. He was nearly obsessed with that texture.
“I like it… here too… touch…” Sheng Lu panted confusedly, pressing closer to him so his body met Shen Ji’s palm.
Shen Ji followed his lead, his palm stroking the other side of Sheng Lu’s collarbone and shoulder. A scorching, burning heat lingered between them.
“Take a bite of my gland, baby…” Sheng Lu enticed him again.
Shen Ji’s hand paused.
“…I want your pheromones. I want the Enigma’s pheromones,” Sheng Lu whispered, biting his ear.
Shen Ji frowned. Had he leaked his pheromones? Hiding them had always been his strength; he had never leaked his Enigma pheromones in front of anyone.
Seeing him stop, Sheng Lu’s face changed instantly. He hugged him tightly, a trace of panic appearing on his face.
After that, Shen Ji had been pulled back to the present.
