Her Imperfection for Wifehood - Chapter 52
Chapter 52
The moment An Jing brutally gripped her wrist, Wei Yinxia burst into tears. An Jing practically shoved Wei Yinxia into the back seat of the car.
Wei Yinxia curled up, clutching her aching wrist, and said timidly, “I’m sorry, I made you angry again.”
Bai Yang, who had followed them out, asked, “Sister Jing, do you need me to drive?”
“Mm. You take her back.”
From her tone, she didn’t intend to get in the car.
Wei Yinxia’s alcohol tolerance was already better than An Jing’s. In her current state, she was at most slightly tipsy. Yet, she appeared far more drunk than just slightly tipsy.
She climbed and struggled to get out of the car. Her hair was messy, the hem of her Qipao skirt was pushed up above her knees, and she clung to the car window, pretending to vomit. Anyone looking on would feel pity.
“No need to trouble Boss An. I… I can go back by myself,” she said, before abruptly falling out of the car.
One of her hands scraped on the ground.
An Jing stood coldly, saying nothing. Even Bai Yang couldn’t bear to watch, but as a man, it was inappropriate for him to touch her, so he couldn’t step forward to help her up.
Wei Yinxia knelt on the ground, weeping without regard for her image. Her only leverage was A-Jing’s soft heart.
Finally, An Jing reached out and helped her up, then got into the car with her: “Bai Yang, drive.”
There was half an arm’s distance between them. Wei Yinxia’s bleeding palm was facing up. She didn’t cry out in pain and didn’t plan to treat it.
Compared to the injuries A-Jing had suffered, this little scratch was nothing.
As long as she could be a little closer to A-Jing and make A-Jing look at her a few more times, she was willing to endure even more severe injuries.
Like this moment, even if A-Jing was silent, even if A-Jing loathed and scolded her, and even if she was met with indifference, she accepted it willingly.
After driving for a distance and seeing that the two in the back hadn’t spoken, Bai Yang asked, “Sister Jing, where are we driving to?”
An Jing closed her eyes and leaned back: “Ask Boss Ying where she lives.”
Subsequently, Wei Yinxia gave an address that surprised both An Jing and Bai Yang.
Twenty minutes later, An Jing stood at the entrance of the former basement, looking down at Wei Yinxia at the bottom of the steps. She didn’t believe she lived here: “You bring me to a place like this, do you want to remind me of the humiliation I endured in the past?”
Wei Yinxia took out a key from her handbag. After opening the door, she looked at An Jing: “This is where we parted three years ago.”
“Boss Ying, I don’t want this run-down basement to stain my feet.”
Seeing that the person had no intention of coming down, Wei Yinxia leaned against the door, biting her lip in distress: “Boss An hasn’t even looked inside, how can you know it will stain your feet?”
After all, it’s a place I lived in. Just one look, only one look, An Jing told herself inwardly.
She took a step and descended the stairs, walking into the memory.
There were no disgusting rat or cockroach carcasses by the door, no cigarette butts or garbage on the floor. The walls were painted blue, the floor was covered with wooden planks, and the tables, chairs, and sofas were all new.
She walked to the door of one of the rooms. The bed and cabinets inside were also new, similar to the furniture in her former room at the An house.
Wei Yinxia moved closer to her. An Jing instinctively stepped further inside the room.
Her action pierced Wei Yinxia’s heart again and again.
Heartbroken, emotion overcame reason. Wei Yinxia threw caution to the wind and hugged An Jing’s waist from behind.
She cried and said, “My body hasn’t been touched by anyone else. A-Jing, I am not dirty. Please don’t always avoid me, don’t stop me from getting close, okay?”
An Jing’s voice remained cold: “What is the meaning of this, Boss Ying? If you want to throw yourself into someone’s arms and use your beauty for favor, you should find a man who can make you happy. I am a woman; I can’t give you what a man can.”
Wei Yinxia shook her head desperately: “No, it’s not like that. The day I went to see Kahn, I wanted to kill him, not to throw myself into his arms.”
“Whatever you want to do is none of my business. Let go.” An Jing squeezed her arm, trying to remove her hands from her waist.
“I won’t let go. Not even if I die.” Wei Yinxia hugged her even tighter: “If I had known you would abandon me that night, I should have apologized with my death, dying in front of you. That would have been better than living a life worse than death.”
“Boss Ying, you are a person of some standing now…” An Jing tried harder to pry her hands away.
“When have I ever cared about my reputation in front of you? What good is reputation in front of you?” Wei Yinxia countered, gripping her hands tightly: “A-Jing, I’m sorry, truly sorry. Please believe me one more time, one last time. Give me a chance to explain, and a chance to atone, okay? Okay? Okay…”
The two remained in a stalemate for a long time.
Wei Yinxia asked “Okay?” countless times, but received no response.
“A-Jing, I love you. I love you so much. The bad woman Wei Yinxia has died in hell. She got her retribution. Let Hongying from the mortal world come and love you, okay? She will let all of Shanghai know that she deeply loves a woman named An Jing. Even if it means being against the world, even if it means being despised by thousands, she will not take a single step back.”
“A-Jing, you want to see me live in pain. How can you see it if you’re not with me?”
“A-Jing, our home is built. Our Jingyin Residence is built. We have a home. Will you come and see it with me?”
“A-Jing, I only have you. I have already died once. If you reject me again, how am I supposed to live?”
“A-Jing, I beg you, please look at me, please don’t ignore me, okay?”
Wei Yinxia spoke a flurry of words, but An Jing remained silent. Tears blurring her vision, she moved from behind An Jing to stand in front of her.
She rose on her toes, cautiously and nervously, inching closer to An Jing’s lips.
She kissed her.
An Jing neither dodged nor responded. She tasted Wei Yinxia’s tears. They were salty and bitter.
“A-Jing,” Wei Yinxia was overjoyed, thinking there was finally hope.
An Jing let out an extremely sarcastic cold laugh, fiercely bit Wei Yinxia’s lip, and immediately grabbed the collar of her Qipao, tearing it open violently on both sides.
Wei Yinxia was terrified by her sudden “assault.” She instinctively raised her hands to shield her chest, her widened eyes full of panic.
An Jing smirked disdainfully: “Didn’t Boss Ying actively seduce me? What’s wrong? Did I misunderstand? Or is Boss Ying not used to being touched by a woman?”
She was indeed still angry.
She indeed still hated me.
She indeed still resented the things I said to Kahn.
Wei Yinxia suddenly smiled. She lowered her hands, exposing her skin to An Jing’s gaze: “Not used to it? Boss An, wouldn’t a test give you the answer?”
An Jing was enraged by her words and actions. She circled her right arm around Wei Yinxia’s shoulder, pinning her against herself, while her other hand forcibly trespassed.
She heard a muffled groan from the person in her arms, but no resistance.
Wei Yinxia gritted her teeth, enduring An Jing’s retaliatory actions. But it didn’t matter. Her body was hers alone. It didn’t matter how she chose to treat it.
An Jing momentarily lost herself.
Wei Yinxia raised her hand and caressed An Jing’s face: “A-Jing, I am only yours.”
She held her and tumbled onto the bed.
The light in the room was just right, enough for her to clearly see Wei Yinxia’s body, and also enough for her to clearly see her expression.
Wei Yinxia’s face felt feverish, burning.
It had been too long since she had felt this way. Wei Yinxia trembled uncontrollably.
She missed her so much. Her body missed her so much. She hugged An Jing, stroking her dark, smooth long hair, and lovingly kissing the top of her head.
Finally, after three years, she was intimate with her beloved again.
“I love you, A-Jing, I love you…” Wei Yinxia’s originally clear eyes were filled with desire. In them, there was only An Jing.
“Boss Ying’s body is slick and soft. She truly is a rare beauty in the world.” Kahn had also said this exact sentence.
Wei Yinxia was incredibly wronged.
Of all the things that hurt her A-Jing, this was the one she most wanted to explain, the only one she could explain, and the one she must explain.
She raised her trembling hands, wanting to touch An Jing’s face but daring not to, stopping midway: “Only you, A-Jing. My heart and my body have always been only yours. You can resent me and doubt me for other things, but only this one thing, I swear to heaven, if I lied to you, I will not have a peaceful end in this life. A-Jing, believe me. You are my life…”
An Jing cruelly covered her lips: “There’s no need to talk about trust or not. When doing this, don’t say anything that spoils the mood.”
Wei Yinxia had endured over a thousand days and nights of suffering from longing. What was this little grievance? Never mind. Never mind.
As long as A-Jing was happy, as long as A-Jing was still willing to touch her, any way A-Jing treated her was fine.
She wanted to distract herself and asked, “A-Jing, is the sweetheart still in the great hero’s heart?”
“Wei Yinxia, I hate you to death.” The moving sweet talk of the past not only failed to soothe her, but instead made An Jing unbearably miserable. The harshness in her hands towards her intensified.
Hearing the name that no one had called for a long time, hearing her say hate, Wei Yinxia felt a breakthrough: “It doesn’t matter, A-Jing. My love for you is enough. Even if your sweetheart is no longer me, my great hero will forever be only you…”
“If you don’t want to be unable to get out of bed tomorrow, then you’d better obediently shut up.”
From top to bottom, An Jing’s actions made her very sore, but the real pain was in her heart. Yet, she didn’t blame An Jing for being cruel to her, nor would she blame An Jing for hurting her body.
She gently caressed An Jing’s sweaty cheek: “What do I have to do for you to believe me?”
An Jing responded with a punishing bite: “Boss Ying, there is no trust between us, and there is no need to talk about trust.”
“No, A-Jing… listen to me…”
“This is how we should be. A purely physical relationship is enough.”
She hated Wei Yinxia, but she also hated herself.
Hating herself for not being able to resist Wei Yinxia’s temptation, hating herself for still having desire for Wei Yinxia.
After an unknown period, An Jing sat up, shook her slightly aching arms, and pulled the quilt over Wei Yinxia’s “scarred” body.
“My apologies, Boss Ying. Blame me for having no restraint. I’m exhausted after all this. If you feel dirty, go wash yourself if you have the strength, or just sleep and wash later if you don’t.”
An Jing’s feet had just touched the floor when Wei Yinxia hugged her from behind: “A-Jing, don’t go, don’t abandon me…”
She truly did want to leave.
Wei Yinxia hugged her tightly. Tears instantly soaked An Jing’s shirt on her back: “Don’t go, okay? I beg you. You were the one who said you’d stay with me for a hundred years. How can you go back on your word? There’s still so much life left. Let me walk it with you, okay?”
How much life was left? An Jing didn’t know and didn’t want to know.
She once wanted to live longer because there were many things she wanted to do with Wei Yinxia.
But now, living one more day felt exhausting.
If it weren’t for the sake of reviving the An Corporation, if it weren’t to wash away the shame she had brought to the An family, she would rather have died in that storm and mudslide herself.
After sitting in silence for a while, An Jing couldn’t bear it and patted Wei Yinxia’s hand: “Go take a wash.”
Wei Yinxia was carried to the bathroom. The happiness was too sudden.
The washroom was not large, but it had been well-renovated, with full bathing facilities.
The hot water in the bathtub covered Wei Yinxia’s body. An Jing also took off her sweaty clothes and stepped in, resting against the edge with her back to Wei Yinxia.
“I trouble Boss Ying to scrub my back for me.”
“Okay.” The scene, which felt like a world away, struck Wei Yinxia’s heart.
She took the towel from the rack on the wall, dampened it, and gently moved it to An Jing’s shoulder.
But before the towel could move, her tears broke free again. She remembered the first time she helped A-Jing scrub her back in the old town. Her body had been almost flawless.
Now, her back had several old scars, especially her lower back… Wei Yinxia felt an unspeakable heartache and regret.
Leaning against An Jing’s back, their skin touching.
“A-Jing, if there is a future, if there is a next life, I will never miss you again, and I will never lie to you again. I will use my whole life to love you, play the zither for you, sing for you, dance with you… I will willingly do anything for you.”
An Jing turned her head.
Her deep eyes were filled with endless sorrow: “Yinyin, can we still go back?”
Wei Yinxia kissed her back. Her continuous, searing tears also burned An Jing’s back: “We don’t need to go back. Let’s move forward, okay?”
The fire in An Jing’s heart ignited again.
She turned and wrapped Wei Yinxia in the raging fire.
Returning to the bed after their frenzy, An Jing rested her head on Wei Yinxia’s chest, listening to her heartbeat and whispering, “I’m sorry. I hurt you.”
Wei Yinxia shook her head: “It’s okay. It doesn’t hurt. Not at all.”
Closely following was the kiss she had long awaited. A-Jing’s kiss finally landed on her lips.
A-Jing’s kiss was exactly like the extreme gentleness of their first kiss in the car. A-Jing’s kiss was neither a conquest nor revenge.
A-Jing, she finally pitied her again, right?
After a long, unforgettable kiss, Wei Yinxia snuggled into An Jing’s embrace like a small bird: “I have to thank Young Master Qin and Sister Yunqing. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have had the courage to live and wait for you to return. And I am even more grateful to An Xi. He is always planning a way out for us. If it weren’t for his letter, I probably wouldn’t dare to bother you again.”
An Xi left a letter for Wei Yinxia before he left?
“What did he tell you?”
“He said that his sister is devoted and loyal, and it’s impossible for her to let go of someone she loves for less than ten years. He said that his sister is the best person in the world, and I am worth shamelessly coaxing. He said that if it must be a sister-in-law and not a brother-in-law, he hopes it’s someone he knew in life. That way, he can confidently promise Mom and Dad that the sister-in-law is the most… graceful and proper woman he’s ever seen, worthy of his sister. He also said that if I gave up and stopped loving you, he would take Mom and Dad with him to bless Boss Qiang in pursuing you, letting Boss Qiang be his brother-in-law…”
An Jing didn’t speak. Wei Yinxia looked up and kissed her lips: “Boss Qiang and Sister Yunqing are the same; they both love you deeply. I came last, but I got your heart.”
“Besides them, what about you? Is there anything you want to say or explain?”
A-Jing was willing to listen to her explanation?
“Yes.” Wei Yinxia’s firm “Yes” was also a way of boosting her own morale.
“A-Jing, I have so many things I want to tell you. The most important thing is that even before I was Hongying or Wei Yinxia, you were already in my heart. Hongying is fake, and Wei Yinxia is also fake, but my initial feelings and affection for you have always, always been real.”
That night, Wei Yinxia said many things, like telling a story, speaking softly and slowly. An Jing listened to her voice and eventually fell asleep listening.
Wei Yinxia didn’t even know at what point she had drifted off. Nor did she know if she believed what she said.
She nestled contentedly in An Jing’s embrace, burying her face in her shoulder, her hand reaching out from under the quilt to lovingly caress her cheek.
If she couldn’t take it in, if she couldn’t let go, then let it be a mere dream.
In the dream, she and A-Jing were lovers playing in Shiliu Garden, lovers holding hands on romantic dates, lovers embracing each other without any obstacles, and the most ordinary pair of lovers in the world.
