- Chapter 13 - You Have Cross-dressed Too?
Zhou Yang’s face immediately turned unsightly. By bringing up a topic related to Chi Li, he was already signaling a desire to make peace, but he had not expected this person to be so ungrateful. He decided he would have to reconsider things carefully; he could not let Chi Li reconcile with him so easily.
“It is alright, Junior,” Xie Weishui said, patting his arm to comfort him. “Being rejected after a confession is actually a very valuable experience. It is no big deal.”
“If you say so,” Zhou Yang muttered, too tired to argue. “Anyway, Senior Fang has been rejected before too, right?”
Before Shen Xunye and Chi Li arrived, Fang Jin had firmly held the position of the most attractive person in the Growth House. His history of rejection provided Zhou Yang with a certain degree of comfort.
“That is true. Fang Jin, why were you rejected?” Jiang Lele asked curiously.
Fang Jin spoke calmly. “When I was in elementary school, I was playing a game and confessed to the person I was playing with. Once she found out my age, she rejected me.”
Zhou Yang stared at him. “That is it? What kind of rejection is that? Is Fang Jin out of his mind?”
“Pfft!” Gao Yuan nearly sprayed the water from his mouth. “You are way too honest. Besides, have you remembered something from elementary school until now?”
Chi Li teased with a smile, “Do not treat an elementary schooler’s sincerity like it is nothing.”
Fang Jin nodded silently.
Chi Li, I am asking you, who would dare to accept an elementary schooler’s sincerity! This is killing me. Fang Jin is actually nodding. He must have been really heartbroken back then. Elementary schoolers are fragile creatures. Please treat them with care! Why is Fang Jin so cute?
Jiang Lele laughed. “Haha, what a cute experience.”
Wei Xuan also joined in the fun. “If you wanted to hoard those three glasses of wine for yourself, just say so.”
The atmosphere at the table lightened considerably due to Fang Jin’s revelation. Next, it was Jiang Lele’s turn, who only had two fingers left. He looked around, thought seriously for a moment, and then spoke. “I have cross-dressed before.”
“No way, man,” Wei Xuan said, his eyes widening. “You are playing that hard? You are making that up, right?”
“I am not!” Jiang Lele replied righteously. “I once cosplayed a female character from a certain game. You can still find the photos online.” He then added, “For those of you not putting a finger down, you better have evidence to back it up.”
Everyone looked around, and surprisingly, one person did not put a finger down.
“Chi Li?” Gao Yuan started to stutter. “You have cross-dressed too?”
“Is it that strange?” Chi Li picked up his phone from the table and quickly found a photo of himself in drag, displaying it in Jiang Lele’s direction. “At the company’s annual meeting, a few of us trainees performed a girl group dance. Every one of us wore women’s clothing.”
Jiang Lele nodded in recognition. “I think I remember that program, but I was sitting too far away to see the faces on stage clearly.”
Gao Yuan remarked, “You guys really went all out.”
With the proof established, Chi Li turned off his phone screen. Suddenly, his right forearm was poked.
“Hmm?” Chi Li turned his head toward Shen Xunye.
Shen Xunye pointed at the phone. “I did not see it.”
Chi Li understood the hint but refused. “It is not important.”
“I really want to see it,” Shen Xunye persisted.
Wei Xuan, sitting to his right, chimed in. “I want to see it too.”
The corners of Shen Xunye’s mouth twitched downward slightly.
“I have already proven it,” Chi Li said with an innocent expression. “Bringing it out to show everyone again feels a bit weird.”
“What is weird about it?” Wei Xuan was being even more persistent than Shen Xunye. “The direction you showed it in was impossible for those of us sitting on this side to see! If we did not see it, we cannot acknowledge it!”
Before Chi Li could speak, Wei Xuan turned to pull on Fang Jin’s arm. “Hey, say you want to see it too. If three people want to see it, he will find it hard to refuse.”
Fang Jin remained silent. Wei Xuan shook his arm vigorously. “Hurry up!”
Fang Jin spoke slowly. “I want to see it too.”
Xie Weishui suddenly gripped the wine glass in front of him, his fingers tightening. He had to exert a great deal of effort to maintain a calm expression. At this moment, everyone’s gaze was focused on Chi Li, anticipating his next move.
It was as if Chi Li were the only protagonist at this table. Why? Why was it that since his arrival, the Growth House had been racing in an uncontrollable direction? Those idiots had clearly been insulted and disgusted by his gifts, yet they were still flocking to him. Do they have no brains?
“Fine.”
Chi Li did not feel like arguing with them. It was not as if the photo were something shameful, so he unlocked his phone and handed it directly to Shen Xunye.
In the photo, Chi Li was leaning against a wall wearing a black leather skirt. The small strip of skin between the hem of the skirt and his long stockings was dazzlingly white. A rhinestone choker sat against his slender neck. He was looking directly into the camera with his head slightly tilted back, his lips shimmering with a moist gloss.
The main live stream frantically switched through several camera angles until it finally found a way to show the photo to the viewers.
This is bad. My excitement is about to explode. Hey, spicy lady. His fingertip is touching his lower lip. If that is not an invitation, what is? That is definitely an invitation!
After staring at the photo intently for ten seconds, Shen Xunye suddenly placed the phone face down on the table. His Adam’s apple bobbed uncontrollably twice. A suspicious flush appeared on Wei Xuan’s face as well. “That, um, Fang Jin has not seen it yet.”
“He does not want to see it,” Shen Xunye said, pushing the phone back to Chi Li and adding thoughtfully, “Put it away.”
Fang Jin said nothing.
“Oh,” Wei Xuan gave a forced laugh. “That photo is really, well, it is top tier.”
“Alright,” Chi Li said, wanting to end the topic. “Let us move on to the next round. Whose turn is it?”
Zhou Yang immediately spoke up. “Mine.”
Chi Li nodded perfunctorily. “Go ahead.”
Zhou Yang glared secretly at Wei Xuan and Shen Xunye before squeezing out a sentence. “I like to eat cilantro, fish mint, and stinky tofu.”
“You are doing that kind of thing?” Gao Yuan grumbled, slowly putting a finger down.
Wei Xuan, who was down to his last finger, felt relieved. “I finally survived a round.”
Aside from him, everyone else put a finger down. Xie Weishui had now run out of fingers entirely.
“Senior!” Zhou Yang had completely forgotten to protect Xie Weishui for a round. “I am sorry, I did not notice.”
“It is fine.” Xie Weishui watched everyone at the table quietly. “Pour the wine for me.”
Zhou Yang eagerly poured the wine. “Do you want me to drink it for you?”
“No need,” Xie Weishui replied, not even bothering with pleasantries. He drank the three glasses in one go and signaled for Fang Jin to continue the game.
Fang Jin said casually, “I have my own original songs.”
“No!” Wei Xuan dejectedly put down his final finger. “Damn it. I really could not hold out, could I?”
Jiang Lele had also run out of fingers. Additionally, Zhou Yang put one down, leaving him with only one remaining. To everyone’s surprise, Shen Xunye did not put a finger down.
“You have original songs? Are you not from the Film and Television Department?” Gao Yuan asked, dumbfounded.
