Help, My Buff Roommate is Begging to Touch my Abs - Chapter 14
Chapter 14: Time to Watch a Movie
The time during his part-time job that evening felt like years to Jin Bao’er.
Every time the scanner at the checkout counter went “beep,” he would glance at the wall clock.
Five-thirty… six o’clock… six-thirty…
Usually, time felt like it flew by, but today it was as if someone had pressed the slow-motion button.
Because it was a busy day, his colleague hadn’t left yet.
The colleague teased him: “Jin Bao’er, why are you so out of it today? Did you make a date with a girl?”
Jin Bao’er’s face flushed, and he quickly lowered his head to count the accounts: “No… no, I’m just a little tired.”
It wasn’t fatigue at all; it was clearly a rabbit trapped in his heart, thumping against his ribs.
At the thought of returning to the dorm tonight and being able to lie in the same covers with Zhao Yuheng…
Being able to smell that pleasant soap scent on him made Jin Bao’er’s fingers unable to resist tapping lightly on the counter.
That sense of anticipation was like a frog being boiled in warm water, slowly softening his reason bit by bit.
Finally, he endured until the end of his shift.
Jin Bao’er didn’t even have time to change his clothes; he grabbed his backpack and sprinted toward the dormitory.
The night wind was a bit chilly, but he felt a burning heat all over his body.
When he pushed open the dorm door, the lights in the room were off, leaving only the eerie blue light of the computer screen.
Zhao Yuheng had already showered and was sitting cross-legged on Jin Bao’er’s bunk, holding that half-finished bottle of Coke.
He was wearing a loose grey tank top, and because he had just showered, his hair was still damp.
“You’re back?”
Zhao Yuheng looked up, his voice carrying the laziness of someone who had just woken up.
“Mm!” Jin Bao’er responded, and his heart rate instantly accelerated.
He finished washing up with quick hands and feet, took a deep breath as if going to a battlefield, and climbed onto the bed.
Today, the first and second roommates had gone out for a class gathering dinner.
Jin Bao’er’s bed, though a standard single, was already quite cramped for a sturdy guy nearly 1.9 meters tall.
Now that a Jin Bao’er was squeezed in, the space instantly became negative.
“Move further in.”
Zhao Yuheng freed one hand and patted the spot beside him.
Jin Bao’er cautiously lay down.
The two were almost pressed tightly against each other.
The heat from Zhao Yuheng’s body radiated continuously like a small sun.
Jin Bao’er could clearly smell the fragrance of the body wash on him, mixed with a man’s unique pheromones, domineeringly entering his nostrils.
“The computer’s for you.”
Zhao Yuheng placed the laptop between the two of them.
The light from the screen illuminated Zhao Yuheng’s sharp-featured profile.
“What are we watching?”
Jin Bao’er asked, but his eyes were involuntarily fixed on Zhao Yuheng’s moving Adam’s apple.
“A horror movie?” Zhao Yuheng raised an eyebrow. “Something exciting.”
“…Okay.”
Jin Bao’er agreed verbally, but his heart was blossoming with joy.
A horror movie was good; a horror movie gave him a reason to burrow into his arms.
The movie began to play.
Just as the two had adjusted their positions and were ready to start watching, the dormitory door “creaked” open.
It was the other two roommates, returning suddenly and covered in sweat.
“Holy crap, what are you two doing? In the covers in the dark doing something sneaky?”
The eldest roommate started shouting as soon as he entered, and with a flick, he snapped the light “pop” on.
The bright light made Jin Bao’er squint, and he turned his face toward Zhao Yuheng.
In the eyes of others, this movement was the textbook definition of “clinging like a little bird.”
Zhao Yuheng frowned and hollered toward the outside.
“Are you blind! Don’t you know you have to turn off the lights to watch a movie?”
“Ooh, ooh, protecting him already?”
The eldest whistled and leaned toward the bedside with a gossiping expression, “Jin Bao’er, what are you hiding for? I’m not going to steal your Brother Heng.”
Jin Bao’er’s face turned an explosive red instantly. He wanted to pull away from Zhao Yuheng’s embrace, but his shoulder was held down by Zhao Yuheng’s hand.
“Don’t move, let them look.”
Zhao Yuheng looked completely unperturbed and even gave a matter-of-fact explanation.
“Jin Bao’er is timid; I’m accompanying him to watch a horror movie to build his courage.”
“A horror movie?”
The eldest looked suspicious and pointed at Jin Bao’er’s head, which was almost buried in Zhao Yuheng’s chest.
“Is this building courage? This is clear…”
“Clearly what?” Zhao Yuheng raised an eyebrow.
“It’s a display of affection!” The two roommates said in unison.
“Get lost!”
Zhao Yuheng cursed with a laugh, grabbed a sock from the bed, and threw it down, accurately hitting the eldest square in the face.
“Go do whatever you need to do. If you stay here as third wheels, believe it or not, I’ll kick you out?”
“Fine, fine, fine, we just came back to get a charger, we won’t disturb your world of two.”
The eldest and second roommate laughed loudly as they flipped the light back off.
With a “bang” of the door closing, the dormitory fell into darkness once again.
All that remained was the flickering light of the screen and the lingering, ambiguous atmosphere in the air.
“Don’t mind them.”
Zhao Yuheng’s voice sounded exceptionally low in the darkness, carrying an undetectable hint of raspiness.
His palm was still resting on Jin Bao’er’s shoulder; he didn’t pull it away, but instead tightened it slightly, pulling Jin Bao’er’s whole body into his arms.
After the commotion from the roommates just now, Jin Bao’er’s heart was beating even faster, like a drum.
He could clearly feel the vibration of Zhao Yuheng’s chest that made him laughing.
“Brother Heng…” Jin Bao’er’s voice was a bit weak.
“Mm?”
“They were talking nonsense…”
“Who cares about them?”
Zhao Yuheng hummed nonchalantly, but his fingers were unconsciously stroking Jin Bao’er’s shoulder gently.
As if soothing a small animal with bristled fur.
“Let’s keep watching.”
The scene started with a dark corridor and low, oppressive background music.
Jin Bao’er pretended to be afraid, leaning his body slightly toward Zhao Yuheng’s side.
His shoulder bumped into Zhao Yuheng’s.
It was hard.
Like hitting a piece of granite.
Zhao Yuheng didn’t seem to notice; he was focused intently on the screen, crunching on potato chips.
“Crunch… crunch…”
The crisp sound was particularly noticeable in the quiet dormitory.
Suddenly, a ghost face burst onto the screen accompanied by a piercing scream.
Jin Bao’er let out an “Ah!” and “subconsciously” shrunk into Zhao Yuheng’s arms.
His whole body was almost half-lying on Zhao Yuheng’s chest.
The palm of his hand pressed right against his abdominal muscles.
Hard as iron, yet elastic.
Jin Bao’er’s brain went “vroom,” instantly turning blank.
This touch… was too real.
“Scared?”
The sound of Zhao Yuheng’s muffled laughter came from above his head.
Not only did he not push Jin Bao’er away, but he also reached out a hand, hooked it around Jin Bao’er’s shoulder, and pulled him further into his chest.
“Don’t be afraid, it’s fake.”
Zhao Yuheng’s palm was broad and warm, pressing tightly against Jin Bao’er’s back.
Through the thin pajamas, that heat seemed capable of burning into his bones.
Jin Bao’er’s face was buried in the nook of Zhao Yuheng’s neck, his nose brushing against his damp hair.
The smell of shampoo was even stronger now.
“Brother Heng…”
Jin Bao’er’s voice trembled slightly, though whether from fear or something else was unclear.
“Mm?”
Zhao Yuheng looked down at him; their noses almost touched.
The flickering light of the screen reflected in Zhao Yuheng’s eyes like shimmering starlight.
“I… I’m a little hot,” Jin Bao’er lied.
“Hot?” Zhao Yuheng frowned, reached out, and felt Jin Bao’er’s forehead, “You don’t have a fever.”
That large hand covered his forehead, the rough pad of the finger inadvertently brushing across his eyes.
A current instantly surged through his entire body.
“Maybe the quilt is too thick,” Jin Bao’er quickly added.
“Then stretch your legs over here.”
Zhao Yuheng said suddenly.
“Eh?”
“It’s crowded on your side; put them on my legs.”
Without allowing any argument, Zhao Yuheng pulled Jin Bao’er’s curled legs over and rested them across his own thighs.
Now it was perfect.
Head resting on pectorals, legs draped over thighs, the entire person was surrounded by Zhao Yuheng in all directions.
This kind of posture was practically cheating.
Jin Bao’er could clearly feel the tension in Zhao Yuheng’s thigh muscles and the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.
The movie continued to play, but Jin Bao’er couldn’t hear a single word of it.
In his world, there was only the powerful sound of Zhao Yuheng’s heartbeat and that dizzying scent.
“Jin Bao’er, why are you shaking?”
Zhao Yuheng suddenly lowered his head and asked softly in his ear.
Warm breath sprayed onto Jin Bao’er’s earlobe, tingling.
Jin Bao’er’s ears turned completely red in an instant.
“No… not shaking.”
He wanted to pull his legs back, but his knee was held down by Zhao Yuheng.
“Don’t move, you’re blocking my view of the movie.”
Zhao Yuheng said so with his mouth, but his hand did not move away; instead, it slid slightly upward from Jin Bao’er’s knee.
An ambiguous atmosphere grew wildly on the narrow bed.
Jin Bao’er closed his eyes, feeling the solid embrace of the man behind him, and prayed silently in his heart:
Movie, please be a little longer.
It would be best if it never ends.
