Heaven-Collapsing Start [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Since the teacher had agreed to let him stay the night, A-Heng began making preparations.
There was only one bedroom in the wooden hut; it was naturally impossible for him to sleep with the teacher, nor did he have such a thought. Thus, even before the teacher could give any instructions, A-Heng had already decided on a plan.
He took two bamboo planks from the courtyard and placed them beneath the window outside the bedroom, using two stools at the front and back for support. Once finished, he lay down to test it and reached out to stabilize it; a simple bamboo bed was complete.
When Ji Liang came out carrying a thin bedsheet, he saw the youth lying casually on the bamboo bed with a relaxed and cozy expression.
At this time, the night grew deeper and the air was quiet and serene. With everything prepared, A-Heng silently gazed at that tall, slender figure in green. Just before Ji Liang stepped into the bedroom, A-Heng suddenly spoke:
“Teacher…”
Ji Liang paused and turned his head slightly. In the quiet air, the youth’s unfinished words drifted over.
“…Goodnight, Teacher.”
…
The next day, as soon as the sky began to brighten, the youth rose impatiently. He went into the courtyard and, by the faint light of dawn, raised the hand that held the wooden sword.
In terms of diligence, A-Heng was considered quite hardworking. He likely understood that his opportunity to practice martial arts was rare and might vanish at any moment; the person who appeared last night inevitably instilled a sense of crisis in him.
Furthermore, he was now sixteen years old. In an ordinary household, he would already be someone capable of standing on his own. Even if he had never touched martial arts before, he had heard that the best time to start was during childhood. Having already missed that, he could only compensate with redoubled effort.
Thinking this, the youth’s eyes sparkled. Recalling the movements of the teacher guiding his swordplay the previous night, his actions chopping, stabbing, pointing, and flicking became increasingly precise.
At the hour of the Dragon (7:00 AM – 9:00 AM), Ji Liang walked with the youth to the schoolhouse to begin the day’s lessons.
Speaking of which, he had been settled in Pangxi Village for nearly two months. The villagers were kind and simple, and the scenery was beautiful; he had thought this leisurely and peaceful life could last a bit longer.
In the schoolroom, the sound of rhythmic reading rang out. Ji Liang sat at the podium in the front holding a brush, but his gaze inadvertently drifted toward the window.
There stood a figure with an undisguised, familiar face; it was Gu Yun, whom he had met briefly last night.
Ji Liang did not expect the other party to believe his nonsense. This current situation was within reason; however, to be honest, he thought the man would have more directly dropped the pretense, or perhaps slain the original host this “traitor” once again to carry out justice for the people.
To be so hesitant now could it be that he was still harboring those old, fake emotions?
It truly made one want to laugh.
However, as long as the other party remained indecisive and wavering, Ji Liang would continue to implement his policy of ignoring him to the end.
In the end, however, Gu Yun was the first to lose his patience.
For three days, he had been secretly following his Big Brother to observe him. From morning till night, his routine was very regular: moving from his residence to the schoolhouse, and from the schoolhouse back to the residence. It was so disciplined, so peaceful and serene.
He did not know what his Big Brother was thinking now, nor how he had luckily escaped death. But after three days, he had finally come to recognize one fact more clearly.
Big Brother was still alive.
Once he understood this fact, certain questions he had subconsciously avoided began to surface, forcing him to face them. So, after much hesitation, Gu Yun appeared before Ji Liang for the second time.
It was still that same courtyard; it was still the two of them.
“Big Brother, come back with me.”
This was the solution he had finally come up with. Since he could not make a decision himself, he would take his Big Brother back first and talk later.
It must be said as expected of you, Gu Yun.
Ji Liang had imagined many scenarios: dropping the facade, or perhaps the man killing him directly. He never expected it would be… “going back”?
Should he say this young Alliance Leader Gu was naive, or just plain naive? He didn’t believe the man hadn’t considered what would await the original host if he were to suddenly appear alive before the public again, given the things he had done.
Ji Liang’s eyes darkened slightly, his lips curling into a mocking arc. Even though he had long anticipated this and prepared his response, it was still… very unpleasant.
Why did he have to accept all the mistakes left behind by the original host just because he occupied this body?
Heh, if there were a choice, he would rather not have it.
Ji Liang’s gaze grew colder.
“I will say it one more time. I am not your Big Brother, nor am I the person you know. Please leave.”
How could he not be? That extremely familiar face and even his stature were exactly the same as in his memory. Perhaps two identical names could exist in the world, but it was impossible for the person, the appearance, and the build to all be the same. If they were, then it must be the same person.
Gu Yun understood the reason why his Big Brother was unwilling to return, but it was unrealistic for him to pretend he hadn’t seen anything. Moreover, he couldn’t get past the hurdle in his own heart. Therefore, he had to take his Big Brother back; this was the result of his three days of deliberation.
Seeing that reasoning with this man was impossible, Ji Liang sneered inwardly. He no longer wanted to deal with him and turned to leave. Yet, just as he took a step, a blur appeared before his eyes as a figure blocked his path.
Ji Liang fell silent for a moment and said, “Move aside.”
“As long as Big Brother returns with me”
Ji Liang shifted his footwork, intending to bypass him. Seeing this, Gu Yun grew anxious. Without thinking, he suddenly reached out and actually grabbed the passing wrist.
Very thin. This was Gu Yun’s first impression. But immediately following that, he was stunned, not even having time to wonder why he had succeeded so easily or rather, perhaps that was the answer itself.
In an instant, Gu Yun turned his head to look at the thin figure in green, his face full of shock.
“Big Brother, your internal energy”
To see how deep a person’s cultivation is, one only needs to check the pulse. A master’s pulse is continuous, strong, and powerful. However, the meridians are the vital points of a martial artist and are generally not allowed to be touched by others easily.
Yet at this moment, the slightly cool wrist beneath his palm had a pulse that was still beating faintly, but it was empty, weak, and powerless. He could not feel the slightest trace of internal energy; it was even inferior to that of a healthy ordinary person.
Where was his Big Brother’s internal energy? Where had that inner power, which used to be even stronger and deeper than his own, gone?!
At this moment, Gu Yun could not help but be stunned. One must know that Big Brother’s cultivation had always been above his. Now, it has actually vanished completely. He had previously thought Big Brother was intentionally acting this way in front of him to make him lower his guard, pretending to be an ordinary man.
In his daze, Gu Yun suddenly remembered these past few days of Big Brother decorating and taking medicine three times a day. He thought of his Big Brother figure, which was even thinner than before. It seemed everything now had an explanation.
Ji Liang’s reaction was fast. The moment his wrist was seized, his brows furrowed sharply and he quickly broke free. However, he was still not fast enough to escape the sensing of the currently powerful Gu Yun.
Seeing the man’s stunned and shocked expression now, Ji Liang couldn’t help but smile slightly; even the corners of his mouth leaked a trace of mirth.
He said, “Haven’t you already verified it for yourself, Alliance Leader Gu?”
The moment the words “Alliance Leader Gu” left his mouth, it meant Ji Liang admitted the other’s identity and acknowledged their acquaintance. But Gu Yun felt no joy at being recognized; he was still in shock over the mysterious loss of his Big Brother’s cultivation.
Then, facing Ji Liang’s mocking expression, he was suddenly at a loss.
Since childhood, Big Brother had been a figure like a “favored son of heaven,” especially outstanding in the path of martial arts. Now that he had lost his kung fu not even knowing if he could ever practice again how pained Big Brother must be in his heart.
As Gu Yun’s expressions shifted continuously, revealing an indescribable look, Ji Liang watched him and suddenly became calm.
Indeed, why should he be angry with an irrelevant person? However, the resistance and unwillingness in his heart, the surging waves buried beneath the calm surface, grew more intense the more they remained silent.
Ji Liang’s lips curled slightly. After a long while, he turned decisively and walked away.
Standing there, Gu Yun opened his mouth, but he did not take another step to stop him from leaving.
