- He Lost Control with Jealousy — What Happened to Being Untouchable?
- Chapter 92 - Do You Want It
Lu Tingzhou thought she hadn’t fully recovered and followed her worriedly, “Are you still feeling dizzy? Should we go to the hospital?”
Sang Wan waved her hand, leaning uncomfortably over the toilet. “I’m fine, you go out first.”
She didn’t want him to find out now, otherwise, all these days of hiding it from him would have been for nothing.
Lu Tingzhou wasn’t reassured and stood behind her, supporting her. “Are you really okay? Let’s just go to the hospital. Don’t push yourself.”
Sang Wan bent over for a while, finally suppressing the nausea in her stomach.
After rinsing her mouth, she pulled Lu Tingzhou out. “Really, I’m fine. Maybe it’s just from drinking too much chicken soup these past few days. I don’t feel like having any more.”
Seeing that she seemed fine now and was insistent, Lu Tingzhou felt a little more at ease.
But he didn’t dare let her drink chicken soup again.
Meanwhile, Sang Wan realized her tastes seemed to have changed, she was particularly fond of greens and plain congee now.
After dinner, she went back to her room to shower. Just as she stepped out of the bathroom, Lu Tingzhou walked in.
Seeing her dressed in long sleeves and pants, he frowned slightly.
“Guarding against me?”
Sang Wan’s face warmed, but she had to admit it.
“What do you take me for?”
Lu Tingzhou walked up to her, his large hand resting on her waist as he pulled her into his arms.
Sang Wan’s breath hitched, this was the first time they’d been this intimate since she regained her memories.
A faint smile played on Lu Tingzhou’s lips as he lifted her chin, breathing in her sweet scent before leaning in slowly.
It was a gentle kiss, and he let her go just as quickly. “I’m not that much of a beast. You’re still recovering.”
Sang Wan’s face flushed as she swatted his hand away and pushed him back. “You are a beast. One who likes seeing me cry.”
Lu Tingzhou frowned. “Don’t provoke me, or I will turn into a beast.”
“Go take your shower.”
Sang Wan shoved him away and quickly climbed into bed.
The corners of Lu Tingzhou’s lips curled slightly as he grabbed his pajamas and headed to the bathroom.
Sang Wan leaned against the headboard, listening to the sound of running water, her thoughts drifting back to that noisy, cicada-filled summer.
She remembered their past, back when Lu Tingzhou had been cold and hard to please.
That year, she was twenty.
Youthful, bold, and reckless.
She had taken the roses given to her by a suitor and tossed them backward right in front of him.
Just as she was about to leave, a cool, magnetic voice called out to her.
“Classmate.”
The voice was slightly rough, deep, and carried a hint of chilliness, enough to make her turn around.
She followed the sound.
A man stood under the shade of a camphor tree not far away, dressed in a perfectly tailored white shirt. His sleeves were neatly rolled up to his forearms, revealing pale wrists and an expensive watch.
Between his fingers was a half-smoked cigarette, and through the haze of smoke, his face was strikingly handsome.
Sharp features, a tall nose, and deep, dark eyes hidden behind glasses.
His noble aura was mixed with an untouchable, ascetic allure.
In that moment, Sang Wan heard her heartbeat go wild.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Each beat louder than the last, pounding like a drum, making her ears buzz.
She froze, stunned, mesmerized.
She was utterly captivated by the man’s flawless looks and refined demeanor.
“Aren’t you going to apologize for hitting someone?”
After a long pause, his cold voice snapped her back to reality.
Sang Wan gradually snapped back to reality, her face flushing with embarrassment as she took the initiative to approach a strange man for the first time.
“Sorry, I didn’t notice anyone behind me.”
Lu Tingzhou merely glanced at her indifferently, saying nothing. His gaze lingered on her for a few seconds before he took a drag of his cigarette, slipped one hand into his pocket, and turned to leave.
Her wildly thumping heart skipped half a beat the moment he turned away.
His tall, slender figure gave her the courage of a lifetime. She pulled out her phone and chased after him.
“Hey, handsome, can I get your WeChat? If you feel unwell later, you can contact me anytime, I’ll cover all the medical expenses.”
Lu Tingzhou stubbed out his cigarette and looked at her with an unreadable expression, though his eyes held a hint of something indiscernible.
But he didn’t give her the chance. Without a word, he turned and walked away.
Blinded by infatuation, Sang Wan didn’t hesitate, she followed him without a second thought.
That afternoon, the Lu Corporation was holding a recruitment presentation, and he was the final interviewer.
With shameless persistence, she stood by his recruitment booth the entire afternoon, serving tea, handing out flyers, and acting more diligent than the actual staff.
Yet even after the event ended, that aloof man didn’t spare her a single glance, let alone give her his contact information.
Sang Wan refused to give up.
She pulled strings through her professor and squeezed her way into the Lu Corporation’s branch in Jing City, becoming an insignificant summer intern assistant in the design department.
For him, she took on her first-ever job.
Every day, she was the first to arrive at the company, timing herself to match his elevator schedule.
Every day, she was also the last to leave, pretending to work overtime just to engineer one “coincidental encounter” after another when he departed.
In the elevator, the hallway, the break room, even the underground parking lot.
Her presence was everywhere.
Persistence paid off.
Or rather, her shameless tenacity finally wore down the icy barrier around him.
The first time he spoke to her voluntarily was on a stormy late-night.
He pulled her, drenched like a drowned rat, from the company entrance into his car, his tone still devoid of warmth.
“Where do you live?”
“President Lu, can I have your WeChat?”
She had deliberately gotten soaked at the company entrance just to strike up a conversation with him, Lu Tingzhou wasn’t oblivious.
The opportunity Sang Wan had been waiting for had finally arrived, and she wasn’t about to let it slip away.
The shameless girl looked at him with bright, glistening eyes.
A drop of rainwater from her damp bangs slid down and landed on the back of Lu Tingzhou’s hand.
His dark eyes studied the thoroughly drenched girl before him, her porcelain skin tinged with a faint flush of pink.
Though slender, she had curves in all the right places.
Her clothes clung to her, accentuating every contour.
Even knowing her motives weren’t pure, he still extended his phone to her.
For a month, she had been an ever-present sight, adding a splash of color to his otherwise monotonous life.
“President Lu, what a coincidence!”
Even though she had deliberately waited by the elevator, she feigned surprise at their “chance” meeting.
“President Lu, it’s too late to get a cab, could you give me a ride?”
Even though she had just waved away a taxi driver eager for a fare.
Perhaps it was because he had walked alone in the darkness for too long that the sudden burst of vibrancy in his life made him unable to look away.
Or perhaps, from the moment she turned around on campus, he had already fallen.
After adding him on WeChat, Sang Wan giggled foolishly while staring at him, only for him to take off his suit jacket and drape it over her shoulders.
Thinking back to those naive yet bold moments, Sang Wan’s face grew increasingly warm, yet the corners of her lips curled upward uncontrollably.
The smile widened until it finally burst into an unrestrained, soft laugh.
Just then, the bathroom door clicked open.
Lu Tingzhou stepped out with a towel wrapped around his waist, his dark hair still dripping. Water droplets trailed down his sculpted abs, disappearing into the defined V-line at his hips.
His gaze immediately landed on the woman curled up in bed, grinning like a cat that had gotten the cream.
Drying his hair, he walked over leisurely, leaned against the headboard, and pulled her entirely into his arms.
The heat of his body radiated through the thin blanket, carrying the fresh scent of soap from his shower.
“What are you laughing about?”
His voice, slightly hoarse from the bath, brushed against her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.
Sang Wan nestled against his firm chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.
“Nothing…” she mumbled sheepishly.
“I was just thinking about the past and realized how… shameless I was back then.”
Lu Tingzhou chuckled lowly, the vibrations resonating through her cheek and down her body.
“Yeah, you really were.”
He agreed, but his large hand slid down to her waist, tracing idle circles.
Sang Wan stiffened slightly.
His amused voice, rich like aged wine, spilled into the quiet night.
“If you weren’t shameless, you wouldn’t have cried in the KTV hallway back then, begging me to kiss you.”
Sang Wan’s face flushed crimson.
That had been during her farewell dinner before her internship ended. Drunk and desperate, she had feared she’d never see him again after leaving, especially since, despite getting his WeChat, he hadn’t replied to a single message in two months.
“Or waited outside my office at night, clinging to my neck, refusing to let go until I took you home with me.”
Her breath hitched as memories of her bold yet embarrassing antics flooded her mind.
His voice deepened, laced with temptation. Leaning closer, his warm breath tickled her earlobe.
“And definitely wouldn’t have…”
He paused, dragging out the last syllable, thick with implication.
“…been so fierce the first time, grabbing me-”
“Stop!”
Sang Wan nearly shrieked, realizing what outrageous confession was coming. She yanked her hand from the blanket and frantically covered his mouth.
The moment her palm met his soft, warm lips, an electric jolt shot through her.
Lu Tingzhou hummed in amusement, his dark eyes shimmering like scattered starlight.
He didn’t finish the sentence. Instead, he took her hand from his lips, brought it to his mouth, and pressed a searing kiss against her palm.
“Alright, I won’t say it.”
His voice was husky, brimming with affection.
“Get some rest. I have to go to the office tomorrow.”
He released her, tucking the blanket snugly around her.
“Got a backlog of work to handle.”
Sang Wan stared at him blankly.
Hearing that he wouldn’t be home tomorrow, the sweetness stirred by their reminiscing and teasing faded slightly.
She had grown accustomed to opening her eyes and seeing him there.
Accustomed to his constant companionship and protection.
Even if it was just for a few short days, it was enough to make her drown in it, unable to extricate herself.
Sang Wan lowered her lashes, veiling the emotions in her eyes, and softly murmured, “Mhm.”
Her voice was small, like that of an abandoned kitten.
Seeing her downcast gaze, Lu Tingzhou leaned down to kiss her earlobe, his voice growing huskier.
“Do you want it?”
