- He Lost Control with Jealousy — What Happened to Being Untouchable?
- Chapter 71 - President Lu Didn't Try Hard Enough
Those three words, like an electric current, instantly surged through Sang Wan’s entire body.
She melted completely.
But instead of answering, she pulled back slightly from his embrace, cupping his handsome face in her hands.
Her beautiful eyes, shimmering like a galaxy of stars, locked onto Lu Tingzhou.
“How did you get here?”
Her voice trembled with unconcealable joy and excitement.
“Didn’t you say the company was too busy and you wouldn’t arrive until tomorrow morning?”
Lu Tingzhou let her hold his face, his gaze behind his glasses deep and tender as he watched her.
He raised a hand, his thumb lightly stroking the curve of her slender waist.
Each touch sent shivers up her spine, making her even weaker.
Lu Tingzhou chuckled lowly, pressing a feather-light kiss to her flushed lips.
The gesture was gentle, brimming with indulgence. “Couldn’t sleep without you.”
He said it so matter-of-factly, as if stating the simplest truth.
Sang Wan’s heart fluttered, tickled by an invisible feather: soft, aching, utterly undone.
This man always managed to say the most devastatingly sweet things in the most casual tone.
“So, I came.”
His dark eyes behind the glasses were fathomless, filled with nothing but adoration.
“If you don’t miss me, I can get a room next door and let you rest.”
As he spoke, he actually loosened his grip around her waist, as if ready to set her down on the plush bed.
Sang Wan refused.
She clung to him like an octopus, arms looping around his neck, her entire body pressed against him.
“Don’t you dare leave!”
She knew Lu Tingzhou was teasing her, but she was more than willing to fall for it.
A man who indulged her every whim, who soothed all her little moods, how could she not be moved?
The emotions in her heart had taken root like vines, growing wildly, entwining around her entire being.
Sang Wan tilted her head up, no longer waiting for him to make the first move.
Rising onto her tiptoes, she captured those lips that made her heart race.
Every action was guided by instinct.
She missed him, wanted to kiss him, wanted to give him everything she had to please this man who made her feel safe.
Lu Tingzhou froze for a second before swiftly taking control.
Cradling the back of her head, he deepened the kiss, swallowing every ounce of her affection.
The temperature in the room climbed steadily.
His breath grew scorching against her neck, thick with desire.
Lu Tingzhou lifted her effortlessly, laying her down on the bed.
His tall frame hovered over her, enveloping her in warmth and the faint scent of her perfume.
“Little fox, you started this,” he murmured, his voice rough beyond recognition.
“You’ll have to take responsibility for the consequences.”
Sang Wan panted lightly, her red lips tempting. “What consequences couldn’t I handle?”
Lu Tingzhou straightened, deliberately pulling his shirt free from his trousers before slowly undoing each button.
The deliberate, teasing pace was torture.
Sang Wan was certain he was doing it on purpose, seduction by sheer attractiveness.
She teased, “Nice abs, President Lu. Don’t slack off. If they ever disappear, you’re fired.”
The moment the words left her mouth, her face burned. She felt like a shameless little pervert, and a fickle one at that.
“Don’t worry, that day will never come,” he replied, lowering himself over her again, his voice coaxing. “With you around, my workouts will only get more intense.”
Then, softer, “Wanwan, help me take off my glasses.”
Sang Wan gazed at the man, whose eyes were already clouded with desire, and reached up to remove his glasses.
What followed was the warmth of his lips. The playful teasing from earlier had vanished from the girl’s voice, replaced instead by…
Outside the window, rain had begun to fall unnoticed, pattering against the glass, while the people inside paid it no mind.
Knock, knock, knock.
A crisp rapping sounded at the door.
Qi Qi stood outside, holding a large bag of the sesame lamb she had been craving.
“Sister Wan, do you want to try some? It’s really good.”
The door didn’t open.
Instead, a black-clad bodyguard stationed by the elevator quickly strode over and intercepted her hand before she could knock again.
“Miss Qi, President Lu is inside.”
Qi Qi froze.
President Lu?
Her eyes widened in shock as she glanced between the tightly shut door and the bodyguard’s expression, which clearly said, You know what’s going on.
In an instant, she understood.
Oh my god!
President Lu had rushed over in the middle of the night!
Clapping a hand over her mouth, Qi Qi’s eyes sparkled with a mix of gossipy excitement. She nodded repeatedly, clutching her bag of food, and tiptoed away like a thief before scurrying back to her own room.
…
The sun was already high in the sky when Sang Wan finally stirred awake, her body aching in places she hadn’t known could ache.
Out of habit, she tried to roll over, only to be yanked back by the arm wrapped firmly around her waist.
“Awake already?”
Lu Tingzhou, sensing her movement, was already alert, his voice still rough with sleep.
At the memory of certain shameless scenes, Sang Wan’s face burned.
She couldn’t help but wonder if this old man had secretly been studying, how else could the untouchable President Lu have stooped to such indecent acts?
To mask her wandering thoughts, she feigned composure and checked her phone. “It’s already ten. You call this early?”
As the weather grew cooler, staying curled up in bed felt incredibly cozy. She instinctively snuggled closer into Lu Tingzhou’s embrace. “Seems like President Lu needs to put in more effort. Otherwise, why would I be awake so soon?”
Hearing this, the man holding her tightened his arms abruptly. “My mistake. I’ll make up for it right now.”
With that, he flipped her onto her back and pinned her beneath him.
The two lingered in the hotel for a long while, and it wasn’t until well past noon that they finally got ready and left.
The car glided smoothly along the road.
“Where are we going?” Sang Wan asked lazily, leaning against Lu Tingzhou’s shoulder.
“To see my grandmother,” he replied casually, ruffling her hair.
“What?!”
Sang Wan bolted upright, all traces of drowsiness gone.
“See… see your grandmother?”
“I-I haven’t prepared any gifts. No, no, you go by yourself. I’ll have lunch and then meet Qi Qi back at the studio.”
Panic set in, leaving her flustered and fidgeting.
Lu Tingzhou found her frazzled state utterly endearing.
He reached out, stroked her head, and pulled her back into his arms, murmuring soothingly,
“Don’t be nervous. You don’t need to think about anything or prepare anything.”
“Just follow my lead. As long as I’m here, you don’t have to worry about a thing.”
His voice was steady and reassuring.
Sang Wan met his unwavering gaze, and her frantic heart gradually settled.
The car eventually came to a stop in front of a quaint, traditional Chinese courtyard.
This was the home of Lu Tingzhou’s uncle. His grandmother had moved here to the capital three years ago to live with his uncle’s family, mainly because Lu Tingzhou had entrusted the management of the capital branch to his uncle before leaving the country.
The moment they stepped inside, Sang Wan sensed something was off.
In the spacious living room, adorned with an air of opulence, sat several dignified elderly ladies and exquisitely dressed young women.
The moment Lu Tingzhou walked in holding Sang Wan’s hand, all eyes instantly turned toward them.
“Ah, Tingzhou, perfect timing! We were just about to start,” one of the elderly ladies said.
But when she noticed the young woman beside Lu Tingzhou, her expression turned to shock.
“And this is…?”
Sang Wan, feeling a little self-conscious, tried to withdraw her hand from Lu Tingzhou’s grip to step forward and bow politely, but he pulled her back.
“Your future niece-in-law, Sang Wan,” he declared, resting his other hand possessively on her shoulder.
His words sent ripples through the room, especially among the young women, whose expressions shifted: some envious, some surprised, others outright jealous.
Of course, they all knew who Sang Wan was. But none had expected her to win Lu Tingzhou’s favor.
After all, the Lu family of Shencheng was as prestigious as the Xiao family of Beijing, often referred to as “Lu in the South, Xiao in the North.”
And Lu Tingzhou, with his noble demeanor, was particularly captivating.
So, when they heard the elderly lady’s intentions, they had all rushed over.
Murmurs spread through the crowd.
“Who would’ve thought? The rumors online about Sang Wan having a powerful backer, it turns out to be Lu Tingzhou.”
“Celebrities are just playthings for the wealthy. Who knows how long this will last?”
By now, Sang Wan had realized that the “important matter” the elderly lady had mentioned over the phone was actually a carefully arranged matchmaking event for Lu Tingzhou.
And she, the unexpected guest personally brought by the man himself, had become the center of attention.
Hearing the whispers, Sang Wan curved her lips into a faint smile. Not daring to take Lu Tingzhou’s introduction lightly, she gently pushed his hand away, stepped forward, and gave a slight bow.
Softly, she called out, “Grandmother.”
The elderly lady, hard of hearing, didn’t catch it, but Lu Tingzhou certainly did.
He immediately wrapped an arm around Sang Wan’s waist, pulling her close.
“Grandmother, she’s precious to me. Don’t scare her off,” he said with a teasing grin.
The elderly lady looked at the sweet, soft-spoken girl and couldn’t help but feel fondness. Her smile widened, how could she possibly scare anyone?
Still, she shot Lu Tingzhou a stern look. “You rascal! You didn’t even warn me! You…”
Back on the phone, he had claimed Sang Wan was just his secretary. She had believed him, only for him to show up today with a girl in tow.
And such a beautiful one at that.
How was she supposed to explain this to her old friends now?
Just as she was about to scold him, a bright, cheerful voice rang out.
“Great-Grandma, I’m here!”
Lu Jinxuan bounded in with a grin, carrying an armful of gift boxes.
Lu Tingzhou, without missing a beat, guided Sang Wan toward the elderly lady, leaning in slightly to murmur in a voice only the three of them could hear:
“See, Grandmother? Jinxuan’s here now.”
“He’s still single. Today’s gathering is perfect for him.”
The elderly lady ignored him, instead pulling Lu Jinxuan over to introduce him to her friends.
Sang Wan leaned closer to Lu Tingzhou and whispered, “How did you even get Lu Jinxuan to come?”
Lu Tingzhou merely smiled, his fingers tracing a slow, deliberate circle at her waist, a silent, smug answer.
And in that moment, Sang Wan understood.
This man had probably seen through the old lady’s intentions long ago and had already arranged Lu Jinxuan as a “shield” in advance.
Truly an old fox.
“Why does your grandmother look barely older than your father?”
Sang Wan voiced her doubts in a whisper close to his ear.
Lu Tingzhou’s eyes darkened for a moment before he turned his face slightly, pressing his lips together as he looked at Sang Wan.
