Green Tea Top Student Falls in Love with Me - Chapter 66
In the early morning, the sky gradually brightened. Since the curtains hadn’t been drawn last night, the morning light filtered through the sheer fabric and seeped into the room. Shi Wangui was woken by a sudden, crisp sound of birds chirping.
Her loose nightgown had slipped off to who-knows-where. She had drunk too much last night, resulting in very little deep sleep. She had slept poorly; her head throbbed, and her body felt achy. But the light was simply too piercing. Shi Wangui forced herself to try and open her eyes, but she failed.
It probably wasn’t time for work yet, and even if it was, she would just be late. Shi Wangui decided to let things slide. She turned over, intending to go back to sleep, but a sudden puff of warm breath against her face left her stunned.
Her eyes snapped open, and she sat bolt upright. Seeing the state of her own body, she quickly reclined halfway and grabbed the quilt to cover herself tightly. Such a large commotion woke Wen Youren as well.
“Don’t speak!” Shi Wangui immediately blocked Wen Youren’s face with her hand. She gasped for air, her brain working fast to recall what exactly happened last night, before asking in a trembling voice, “Last night… did we do everything?”
Wen Youren didn’t give her time to think, reaching out to grasp her hand and pressing a kiss to it. This kiss wasn’t like the light pecks from high school; Wen Youren kissed her deeply. The kiss, thick with desire, caused Shi Wangui’s body to gradually go limp, and her upright posture slid downward. To maintain her balance, Shi Wangui wrapped her arms around Wen Youren’s neck, and both were once again submerged in the tenderness between their lips and teeth.
A moment later, Shi Wangui felt a lack of oxygen. She pushed Wen Youren away, feeling both uncomfortable and reluctant. Panting, she asked, “What are you doing?”
Wen Youren’s lips were slightly swollen, and her neck was covered in hickeys—the frantic marks they had left on each other last night. It seemed no verbal answer was needed; one could see exactly what happened just by looking.
This method worked well; Shi Wangui stopped resisting. She froze in place for a moment, then lowered her head to search for her phone, finally grabbing it from the nightstand. Looking at the remnants in the trash can, she felt another wave of shyness. She grabbed her clothes to change, then suddenly remembered there was another person in the room. She turned back and said dully, “I need to get dressed.”
Wen Youren watched her and asked, “Where are you going?”
That was true. Where was she going? Sun Yi was at work, and she didn’t know anyone else in City A. Going out now would make her like a headless fly. Wait, wasn’t she technically employed now too?
“To work,” Shi Wangui said awkwardly. “I am a working person too.”
Wen Youren saw her shyness and said considerately, “You don’t have to go to work today if you don’t want to.”
“What about you?” Shi Wangui blurted out. “Are you going?”
“I have to,” Wen Youren replied. “If you really want to go, would you like to accompany me?”
Dammit, dammit, dammit.
Shi Wangui felt that she was letting Wen Youren off too easily. She should have kept her at arm’s length for a while, ignored her for a bit—how did she end up in bed with her after only a few days?
She was basically giving herself away for free.
But there seemed to be no helping it. This was their “second time,” and both times she had given herself to Wen Youren while drunk. Shi Wangui caught a glimpse of Wen Youren’s slender fingers and her face flushed. Simultaneously, she realized she had to break this habit; she absolutely could not drink when out anymore.
“Fine,” Shi Wangui turned her head away and agreed in a low voice.
It was still early. Wen Youren got up to go downstairs and make breakfast, but as soon as she lifted the quilt, Shi Wangui roared, “Put your clothes on, right now!”
Even though everyone was built the same, there were differences. It was strange; Wen Youren didn’t look that pale on the outside, so why was the skin under her clothes so white? Shi Wangui felt a sense of unfairness.
After getting dressed, Wen Youren came up from downstairs and said, “There isn’t much in the fridge. I’ll take you out for breakfast, okay?”
Shi Wangui replied, “Don’t bother. Let’s just eat at the cafeteria.”
The food at the cafeteria wasn’t too bad last time. Shi Qin might be disgusting at home, but he loved to play the good guy in public. Wait, Wen Youren seemed to have mentioned that the company would be hers—what did that mean exactly?
“Wait,” Shi Wangui called out to Wen Youren. “Whose company is this exactly? Yours or Shi Qin’s?”
Wen Youren answered with a solemn expression, “It will be yours.”
From the very beginning, this company could only be Shi Wangui’s. Not just this one—everything that originally belonged to her, she was going to take back.
Shi Wangui laughed. “It’s fine, I don’t want it. I look down on anything that belongs to Shi Qin.”
Shi Wangui followed Wen Youren to the company cafeteria. It was the peak of the breakfast rush, and the place was crowded. For those who arrived late, the choices were few and the food wasn’t as hot.
Shi Wangui grabbed a small slider and a carton of milk, the combination she had eaten most during her years abroad.
Suddenly, a phone rang. After answering, Wen Youren said, “I have a meeting in a bit. Just head to the office after you finish eating.”
Shi Wangui nodded. “Mhm, okay.”
As soon as Wen Youren left, Sun Yi appeared and patted her shoulder. “Reconciled?”
“…” Shi Wangui rolled her eyes. Truly, Sun Yi knew exactly which buttons to push. But she answered honestly, “More or less.”
Sun Yi laughed mischievously. “You’re something else! After all those ‘Pursuit of the Ex-Wife’ novels I lent her, you only let her suffer for one night?”
Shi Wangui also felt she had forgiven her too quickly, but after what happened last night, wouldn’t it be acting like a scoundrel not to reconcile? She wasn’t an irresponsible person; even as a minor, she had known the importance of taking responsibility.
“Don’t worry about it! Don’t ask!”
Sun Yi sighed. “Reconciling is good. You have no idea how exhausted I’ve been, not just with work, but keeping an eye on Wen Youren to make sure no other women got close. I don’t care; you have to treat me to a meal as compensation.”
“Eat all you want. Breakfast is on me,” Shi Wangui said generously.
Sun Yi stuffed a dumpling into Shi Wangui’s mouth. “It’s a miracle that slider didn’t choke you. The cafeteria is free anyway.”
Shi Wangui chewed thoughtfully. “I want to eat these dumplings tomorrow.”
“Sis,” Sun Yi reminded her, “tomorrow is Saturday. We’re off.”
“Is it? I’ve lost track of the days. Should we go out tomorrow then?”
It was almost time for work. Sun Yi packed her things. “Wen Youren might not be free. I have to go to work. You can come find me in my office whenever you want.”
Shi Wangui was finished eating. Since everyone she knew had left, she didn’t want to stay in the cafeteria either. She shouldered her bag and walked toward the office.
However, something interesting happened—someone blocked her from entering.
A girl with curly hair stood at the door, her tone unfriendly. “This is Sister Youren’s office. Do you have business? If not, you can’t go in.”
Shi Wangui looked around in disbelief, confirming the girl was speaking to her. She pointed to herself. “Are you talking to me?”
The curly-haired girl looked at her with disdain, as if she had both poor hearing and poor eyesight. “Who else but you?”
Shi Wangui was amused. “And who are you? What right do you have to stop me?”
The girl puffed out her chest. “I am Chang Xi! Sister Youren already has someone she likes, so don’t even think about making a move on her.”
“…” Shi Wangui’s smile froze. “And do you know the name of this person she likes? It’s not you, is it?”
To her surprise, Chang Xi turned red. “What are you talking about! I’m a girl, I don’t like girls… but for Sister Youren, I could consider it.”
She quickly regained her composure. “The person she likes is Shi Wangui. She told me about their love story before, so I’m going to protect their love!”
Shi Wangui’s tension vanished. She had been ready to find someone else if Wen Youren had moved on, but since she was so devoted, there was no need to be petty.
But who was this kid? She didn’t look like an employee or a college student—at most a high school senior. But it wasn’t a holiday or a weekend, so why was she here?
“Childish kid,” Shi Wangui said. For the first time, she felt those words were very useful. She pushed past Chang Xi and said calmly, “I am Shi Wangui.”
After saying it, Shi Wangui felt a wave of pleasure. So this was the thrill of revealing one’s identity and calling someone else childish—no wonder Wen Youren did it every day in high school.
Chang Xi’s eyes widened in shock. She covered her mouth and watched Shi Wangui walk in, then hurried after her, exclaiming, “A real one! It’s a real, live Shi Wangui!”
Shi Wangui rested her chin on her hand. “How old are you?”
“17!” Chang Xi said proudly. “In one more year, my sister won’t be able to control me anymore.”
Chang Xi… The name wasn’t familiar. How did Wen Youren know her? Shi Wangui asked casually, “Who is your sister?”
Chang Xi sighed. “My sister is Chang Yue, but shouldn’t you know her? She mentions you all the time. My other sister is Wu Yingxuan, and she talks about you a lot too.”
Shi Wangui was utterly confused. She didn’t know these two people; she had no memory of them at all. Why would they know her? Wen Youren was still in a meeting, so she would have to wait for her to return to ask.
Shi Wangui didn’t want to deal with the kid, so she tossed a book over. “Your Sister Youren is in a meeting. Read this novel for a bit.”
Chang Xi flipped through the novel with a look of pure joy. Ever since she started her senior year, no one at home had allowed her to read novels. “I know now—you’re my real sister! Hello, Sister Wangui!”
“Enough, don’t be noisy,” Shi Wangui said impatiently. “You read, and I’ll rest for a while.”
Chang Xi was very obedient and stayed in the corner reading. Shi Wangui took the opportunity to log into Wen Youren’s WeChat on the computer; she had to find out who these three people were. Having three strangers know her was a bit creepy.
Wen Youren usually approved Shi Wangui’s login requests. This office computer was personal, and the company’s network monitoring wasn’t strict, so they had become quite bold.
Shi Wangui scrolled through the chat history. She found Wu Yingxuan, but couldn’t find anything for Chang Yue. Though she was on the friends list, there were no messages, meaning they had been deleted.
Wu Yingxuan seemed to be the CEO of a company. Their conversations were mostly about business, with no personal affairs, but Wu Yingxuan held shares in this company.
So, was she someone Shi Qin knew? Wen Youren had said before that Shi Qin didn’t give her final financial signing authority, treating her like a high-level employee without real power. But if Wu Yingxuan had shares and was close to Wen Youren, what was the relationship between the three of them?
Just then, a message from Wen Youren popped up:
Wen Youren: We are going back home tomorrow.
Shi Wangui’s heart skipped a beat, but she replied with an “Okay.” Sooner or later, she had to find out what really happened during those five missing years.
