Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 78
Li Miaolan slowly regained consciousness, only to find that she wasn’t in a hospital. A man was sitting beside her, gazing at her with intense concern. Startled, she tried to scream, but before she could make a sound, Xiaofeng quickly covered her mouth. In that moment, she saw his face clearly.
“Xiaofeng? Why is it you? What… what are you trying to do?”
“Sis, don’t you recognize me? I’m your younger brother, Li Miaofeng!”
“You… you’re…”
“Sis, don’t you remember your own brother? He went missing when he was six…” Xiaofeng’s voice choked with emotion as he looked at Li Miaolan, who still seemed unconvinced. “Sis, when Xiaofeng was little, he was really mischievous. Once, while we were playing cops and robbers, I accidentally burned your neck with a heated screwdriver and left a cross-shaped scar. Don’t you remember?”
Li Miaolan was stunned. She murmured, “I did have a little brother named Xiaofeng… You really are Xiaofeng! You’ve suffered so much all these years…”
The two siblings embraced tightly, tearfully sharing the pain and longing of all the years they had been apart.
“Xiaofeng, what about my baby? Is he okay?”
Xiaofeng looked distressed. His sister had been unconscious since childbirth, and the baby had been taken away by the nurse. With so many newborns in the incubator room, he couldn’t tell which one was his nephew. At the time, all he could think about was rescuing his sister. He hadn’t had the chance to find the baby—he feared the child had already fallen into Jing Cheng’s hands. If so, the chances of survival were slim.

Shen Yiling gently reached out a finger to tease the baby on the bed. Though the child hadn’t opened his eyes yet, a small, sweet smile lingered on his lips as he slept peacefully, occasionally letting out a soft, contented hum. He was unbelievably adorable.
“Cousin, where did you get this little one? Don’t tell me you secretly had a baby?” Shen Yiling teased Shi Jiawen, who was still drying her hair.
“Shut your mouth. Say one more word and I’ll tell Uncle that you’re hiding out here.”
“Ugh, can’t you take a joke? You’re so stingy!”
“But seriously, where did the baby come from?”
“He belongs to a suspect I was investigating.”
“That Jing Xuan woman?”
Shen Yiling blinked in surprise. “Wait, isn’t she a woman?”
“Well, since you rarely leave the house, I’ll need you to take care of him for a few days. Consider it early practice for motherhood. That way, when you have your own child, you won’t be all flustered.”
“Oh, please. I can barely take care of myself, and now you’re dumping a baby on me?”
“What if I told you this is Jing Xuan’s child? Helping her would mean helping her.”
“Oh, so it really is hers!”
Shi Jiawen flicked her hard on the forehead. “In name only. Don’t ask too many questions—I’m not going to tell you anything else. Just finish the task and take good care of him, okay?”
“Fine, but I have one condition.”
“Speak.”
“After this is all done, take me to meet this Jing Xuan. I mean, she owes me one now, right?”
“Sigh… I really don’t understand how your brain works. Fine, deal. But you must—”
“Yes, ma’am! Mission guaranteed!”
Shi Jiawen laughed at Shen Yiling’s exaggerated salute and affectionately pinched her nose. “You little rascal, keep your voice down or you’ll wake him.”

News of the Yan family’s smuggling of drugs and firearms spread like wildfire, severely damaging their business. Master Yan, overwhelmed with stress and fury, fell gravely ill. Yan Junye rushed back to City C and immediately held a press conference, denying the allegations and urging the police to uncover the truth and clear their family’s name.
Meanwhile, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Movis watched Yan Junye’s public statement on TV with a heavy heart. The Yan family’s century-old legacy was built on reputation, and this scandal threatened to destroy it. His father would no doubt be worried.
Having been away from home for so many years, leaving his father and son alone, he was filled with guilt. Now that things were wrapping up, it was time to return to his family.
Pokai, seeing Movis staring at the TV in a daze, patted his shoulder. “Who would’ve thought we’d live to see each other again? It’s been 20 years since our eldest brother died. I’ve been laying low here in Thailand ever since, waiting for the day we could take down that traitor Jing Cheng. Now’s our chance. He brought this on himself—there’s no escaping justice.”
Movis poured himself a drink and raised his glass to Pokai. “Brother, if it weren’t for Junye’s business dealings with you, we might never have known we both survived. Come, let me toast you!”
Pokai turned his eyes back to the TV, which had already switched to another news segment. “I still have some sway among the Southeast Asian bosses, many of whom were once our loyal clients. Rebuilding
Jingdonghui won’t be possible without their support—but you can count on me. First things first, we need to bring back the young master.”
Movis nodded. “Jing Xuan’s a sharp kid. This mess has held her back, but she’ll pull through. The heavens watch over the righteous—our big brother and sister-in-law must be looking out for her.”
Pokai sighed in agreement. Movis continued, “I’ve been intruding here too long. It’s time I left. Let’s split the work—we’ll get this done faster. I want to go home and see them. Brother, I’m counting on you for everything here.”
“Don’t be ridiculous. If you’re heading back, bring plenty of people with you. I can’t show my face there, which is already shameful enough. No need for formalities between us.”
With everything said, the two long-separated brothers drained their glasses. Their eyes welled with emotion as they thought of their youth—of the bonds between brothers like Jing Long, Jing Cheng, Pokai, Ajie, and Yan Siwei. Now, Ajie was dead at Jing Cheng’s hands, and Pokai had lost an eye because of him, earning the nickname “One-Eyed Crocodile.”
Movis had lived in hiding for twenty years. But at long last, revenge was within reach.

What followed was inevitable. Movis returned to City C in a high-profile manner and was reunited with the Yan family. Three generations gathered again, a long-awaited reunion not detailed here. Meanwhile,
Pokai used his underworld connections to smooth the path for rebuilding Jingdonghui. Everything proceeded in an orderly fashion.
Shi Jiawen submitted the video evidence to her superiors in time. After thorough verification, it was deemed authentic. Jing Xuan was finally released and cleared of all charges.
She held a grand memorial for her adoptive father, Huang Zhixiong, to honor his spirit, and established a charitable foundation in his name, dedicating herself to public service. Her marriage to Li Miaolan was naturally voided due to the revelations about her identity.
Jing Cheng was charged with numerous crimes, including attempted murder, malicious framing, arms smuggling, and drug trafficking, becoming an internationally wanted criminal. With the international warrant issued, his fate was sealed. Having gotten wind of Shi Jiawen’s plans through an informant, he fled before he could be arrested.
Shi Jiawen also managed to recover Li Miaolan’s baby, who was returned to her. She remained a key protected witness. Meanwhile, Xiaofeng reunited their family and tracked down the scumbag who had hurt his sister, crippling him in revenge. Out of respect for Jing Xuan, who had entrusted him with his sister’s protection, he didn’t dwell on it.
The Yan family’s name was cleared with Jing Cheng’s fall. Movis, now known once again as Yan Siwei, returned in grand fashion. Thanks to his return and Pokai’s efforts, Jingdonghui was quickly rebuilt and relocated to Taiwan. Jing Xuan inherited her father’s legacy and assumed the position of President of Jingdonghui. Yan Siwei and Pokai pledged their allegiance to her, touching Jing Xuan deeply.
She made a silent vow: “Dad, Mom… can you see me now? I won’t let you down. I won’t let Uncle Yan or Uncle Pokai down. I’ll protect everything you left behind.”
Jing Xuan’s fame soared. She dominated headlines across major media outlets. Her handsome appearance and radiant smile won countless hearts. Whether she was male or female no longer seemed to matter.
With everything finally settled, Yan Siwei proposed hosting a grand banquet to welcome allies and expand Jingdonghui’s influence. The idea was met with wide approval, and preparations began.
Qiao Fei and Lan Qing watched as Jing Xuan grew more dazzling by the day, feeling both proud and bittersweet. She hardly had time for them anymore.
Compared to Lan Qing, Qiao Fei felt a stronger sense of unease. She didn’t understand her own feelings—why she instinctively diminished herself in Lan Qing’s presence, why she felt inferior to her brilliance, yet still yearned for Jing Xuan. The emotional tug-of-war was tearing her apart.
And as if things couldn’t get worse, a phone call from Liu Xinyu struck like a bolt of lightning.
“Fei’er! Where did you go? Uncle Qiao and Aunt Qiao came looking for you!”
