Golden Temptation – A Yuri Story - Chapter 72
Li Miaolan kept her head lowered in silence. Jing Xuan followed her gaze and landed on her round, protruding belly.
“You really went to great lengths,” she said coldly. “You’re about to give birth, and you’re still running over here to spy on me. Hmph. Go back and tell your master not to worry so much about me. I’ve got nine lives
—I was born under a lucky star.”
“Will you hate me?”
“What do you mean by that?”
“I… I’ll testify against you in court.”
“Hah! Who knows what tricks you people are playing. Do as you like.”
“You… Your godfather didn’t suffer when he passed.”
“Thank you… for giving him a quick death.”
“I’m leaving now. Take care.”
With difficulty, Li Miaolan straightened her wobbling body and turned away, disappointment evident in her movements.
“Wait!”
She turned back and picked up the phone again. Jing Xuan stood up, leaned close to the glass, and enunciated each word clearly:
“Do me a favor—tell him: blood must be repaid with blood.”
Li Miaolan had expected Jing Xuan to say something sentimental. Hearing this instead, she responded angrily, “You should keep yourself alive and say it to him yourself!”
“I will.”
…
Back in her cell, Jing Xuan lay on the hard wooden bunk, eyes closed.
“No… Jing Cheng is determined to have me executed. I must get out of this hellhole before the trial.”
She sighed.
“I wonder how Qing and the others are doing. They must be worried sick—”
—Creak—
“You’re pretty popular with the ladies. And they’re all stunners, too.”
Still lounging lazily, Jing Xuan didn’t even open her eyes as she replied, her voice cool and slow. “Inspector Shi, aren’t you the same? You’ve got more than a few admirers yourself.”
“Hah, we’re in the same boat then.”
“So, what do you want this time, Inspector?”
“With all the evidence we’ve got, this case is solid. No loose ends. You’d better get used to life in prison.”
“For an officer of the law, you’re awfully short-sighted. The fact that there are no loose ends is the biggest red flag of all. If someone like you could make it to inspector, I’m sure there’s no shortage of unsolved cases either. With your looks, climbing the ranks must be easy.”
“You—!”
Shi Jiawen fumed but quickly masked it with a raised brow and a scoff. “Fine. I didn’t come here to get insulted. But I’ve got to admit, you’ve got a silver tongue—must’ve sweet-talked a lot of girls, huh? With that face… classic sugar baby.”
“Hah. You’ve got a mouth too—talk all you want. So, are we done? What’s the real reason you’re here?”
“I came to tell you—someone’s posted your bail. You’re free to go.”
At that, Jing Xuan’s eyes snapped open. “Who posted bail for me?”
“How should I know what your relationships are? But two lovely ladies are waiting outside. The one who filed the paperwork is Iga Lan Qing.”
“You’re serious?”
“Believe it or not.” With that, Shi Jiawen turned on her heel and left. Guards soon escorted Jing Xuan to the release counter.
—
“Ladies, please wait a moment—Jing Xuan will be out shortly. Haha…”
“Thank you for your help, Officer Xiong.”
This Officer Xiong was indeed a xiong—a lecher through and through. His beady eyes darted between Lan Qing’s chest and long legs, practically drooling. Though disgusted inside, Lan Qing still forced a polite smile.
Qiao Fei, on the other hand, wasn’t as diplomatic. She shot the officer a scathing glare.
“Miss Qiao, would you like some water? Please—drink some!”
“Ugh, no need to be so courteous…”
Lan Qing chuckled at Qiao Fei’s awkwardness. Fei’er’s still such a little girl.
—
Shi Jiawen personally escorted Jing Xuan out. She leaned in suspiciously close and whispered, “You’re out now. But you’re still a suspect. Don’t leave Singapore for the next year. We’ll summon you for questioning anytime.”
“I know.”
“And one more thing…”
She glanced at Lan Qing and Qiao Fei, then tiptoed up to whisper in Jing Xuan’s ear:
“Miss me.”
From Lan Qing and Qiao Fei’s perspective, it looked like a kiss just under Jing Xuan’s ear.
Provocation. Barefaced provocation.
Lan Qing rose gracefully and looped her arm through Jing Xuan’s. Jing Xuan, completely won over, followed her like a puppy. Qiao Fei grabbed the other arm and even shot Shi Jiawen a triumphant face.
Shi Jiawen thought, I must be going insane. Every time I see one of Jing Xuan’s women, I act like this. It’s like I’m trying to stake a claim. I’m a lesbian, sure, but I still have principles. This time… what the hell
came over me?
—
“Officer Xiong, we’ll be taking Jing Xuan now. Thanks again for your help!”
“Oh no, no thanks needed! To serve two such stunning ladies—what an honor, truly!”
“You flatter us. We’ll be off now.”
With one woman on either arm, Jing Xuan drew the attention of everyone nearby. Naturally so—two beautiful women flanking a “prince” was quite the sight.
Jing Xuan was basking in it—until she got in the car and—
“OWWW!”
Lan Qing and Qiao Fei had turned their gentle holds into deadly pinches.
“Only two days and you’re already flirting with that vixen? And here we were, worried sick!”
“Lan Qing’s right! If we don’t punish you now, who knows what kind of trouble you’ll cause later!”
“Exactly!”
Jing Xuan felt her soul slipping away. “Mercy, my ladies! I was wrong—I confess!”
Seeing her tears, they relented and began to massage the spots they’d pinched. But as Qiao Fei massaged, her smile gradually faded.
Jing Xuan was safe now, but it was time for her to leave. She cherished every moment by Jing Xuan’s side—but how much longer could it last?
Noticing her daze, Jing Xuan gently brushed away the dampness in her own eyes and turned to Qiao Fei.
“Fei’er, why are you here?”
“I…”
“She was worried about you! This heartless man! You survived all thanks to Fei’er. Jing Cheng planned to shoot you during the arrest. It was Fei’er who distracted the sniper, buying just enough time for the consulate to intervene!”
Jing Xuan finally understood why Fei’er had been running during the raid—and why Lan Qing was chasing her.
“Fei’er… thank you!”
“I don’t want your thanks! I’m the one who dragged you into this mess in the first place. You not blaming me is already more than enough.”
Jing Xuan took her hand and pressed a kiss to it. Electricity shot through Qiao Fei’s cheeks.
Not in front of Lan Qing! she panicked.
—
“Alright. You two are my treasures. I owe you both everything.”
“B-Both of us?”
“Silly Fei’er, didn’t you hear? When I begged for mercy earlier, I said ‘ladies’—plural!”
“Fei’er, I want to repay you with my life. Will you have me?”
“…I’ll think about it!”
“What?! No? Then never mind~”
“Hey!”
“Hahaha! Fei’er’s still so easy to tease!”
Jing Xuan reached out and pulled both women close. To have the love of these two incredible women—how did she ever deserve such fortune?
She vowed: this life, she would never betray them.
