Give Her a Chance to Flirt! - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
The Yu Group Office Building.
Lin Momo arrived by car. Standing before the towering Yu Group skyscraper, she looked up, knowing her prey was inside this very building.
Today, she would not give Yu Yihan any chance to escape. Most importantly, she had to succeed before Lin Jiu arrived.
Before obtaining the Halo, she had learned of Yu Yihan’s sexual orientation from the news. Now, she speculated on the relationship between Yu Yihan and Lin Jiu with the utmost malice—
If Lin Jiu found out what she had done to Yu Yihan, her expression would surely be a sight to behold.
As if seeing the scene she most anticipated, the corners of Lin Momo’s mouth curled high.
However, she was long accustomed to wearing a mask of disguise. After that momentary exposure of her true nature, Lin Momo walked into the Yu Group building with her peerlessly pure face.
She walked up to the reception desk:
“Excuse me, is Yu Yihan in? I’d like to see her.”
Lin Momo asked gently, waiting for the receptionist to ask for her identity.
She didn’t use her powers; she was confident that her appearance and status were enough to handle such a minor situation.
To her surprise, the receptionist looked her up and down and said politely:
“Are you a member of President Yu’s Support Club? I’m sorry, please head back. President Yu does not meet with people from the Support Club.”
?
“I’m not part of any Support Club.”
The receptionist smiled—a smile that clearly said “I’ve seen plenty of girls like you”—and said skillfully:
“You’re still a college student, right? Every month, hundreds of college students try to find President Yu. Also, fan groups aren’t allowed either; we don’t recognize any fan groups or support clubs.”
“…”
Lin Momo never imagined that her “youthful and pure” look, which she took such pride in, would lead to her first Waterloo of the day.
The receptionist blinked and whispered in a friendly tone:
“Company rules. I’m actually in the Support Club too, but there’s nothing I can do. Today is the weekly executive meeting; you won’t be able to see President Yu. Better head back.”
Lin Momo grew annoyed and said directly:
“I’m from the Lin family. Lin Yuan is my father. Contact the CEO’s office for me and let me up.”
“Eh?”
The disbelief on the receptionist’s face stung Lin Momo’s pride. She looked left and right and spotted a familiar figure.
“Assistant Yu.” She immediately used the Halo on the executive assistant standing near Yu Yihan and tilted her chin up. “Take me up.”
As the executive assistant, Assistant Yu had unimpeded access to the company. Lin Momo “borrowed” his employee card to swipe into the elevator, discarded him once she was done, and went up to the CEO’s office alone.
Yu Yihan was not in her office.
Lin Momo walked out of the office with a frown and asked in a condescending tone:
“Where is Yu Yihan?”
The person being questioned grew dazed for a moment and replied:
“President Yu is downstairs presiding over the company’s weekly meeting.”
Lin Momo snorted coldly and left under the watchful eyes of the CEO’s office staff.
Behind her, the ladies in the office looked at each other:
“Who was that? A real-life version of a spoiled, arrogant rich miss? Talking to Assistant Yu so rudely.”
“Hmph, what a temper.”
“Message from the girls at the front desk: she’s the Lin family’s daughter? No way, I’ve never heard of her.”
“From the Lin family? Then isn’t she Goddess Lin Jiu’s sister? She can’t even hold a candle to my goddess. Barf.”
“Wait? Xiao Wu, aren’t you a hardcore Yu Yihan fan? When did you jump ship?”
“Ahem, I’m constantly jumping between being a solo fan of both and being a ‘Yu-Lin’ shipper.”
“Am I the only one who didn’t know Miss Lin and President Yu had a ship name??”
Everyone looked at her with extreme pity. Imagine that—you’re the only one who didn’t know about the ‘Yu-Lin’ CP (Couple).
After a bit of gossip, the previously mentioned Xiao Wu returned to her professional self, picked up a missing report, and headed downstairs to the meeting.
Downstairs, Lin Momo stopped in her tracks, standing outside the conference room door.
She originally wanted to grab someone to call Yu Yihan out, but then she remembered how Yu Yihan had slighted her earlier, and resentment filled her heart.
She wanted Yu Yihan to bow down to her in front of everyone. Only then would she be satisfied!
Lin Momo took a step forward, knocked, and pushed the door open before anyone inside could respond.
The conference room was vast, with a long table. She entered through the back door and immediately spotted Yu Yihan at the other end of the table.
Everyone turned to look at the intruder. It was a fresh face. Someone quickly barked a reprimand, but Lin Momo ignored it, wearing a gentle, graceful smile as she walked slowly toward Yu Yihan in the head seat.
“Yu Yihan, I’ve come for you.”
That short sentence, amplified by the Halo, was like a densely woven poisonous net rushing straight at Yu Yihan.
Yu Yihan had sat up straight the moment Lin Momo appeared, her expression solemn and icy.
Unlike the first time when she was caught off guard, she was prepared this time. Perhaps because she had drunk Lin Jiu’s tea before, Yu Yihan was in a much better state and could keenly sense a sinister energy radiating from Lin Momo.
The smell of burning rubber, the sour stench of charred remains, the greasiness of lard, and the odor of unkempt sweat.
All sorts of unbearable smells mixed together, making one want to vomit the moment they caught a whiff.
The scent was too pungent; Yu Yihan’s brow was knitted tightly.
She didn’t speak immediately. First, because Lin Momo’s attacks were continuous, like a cloud of turbid air trying to invade her clear mental space.
Second, the smell on Lin Momo was truly too foul. No one would want to open their mouth and inhale more in front of that stench; it was nothing short of torture.
The subordinates observing from the sidelines saw their boss’s expression and felt a jolt in their hearts.
When the overseas market was botched last year and the quarterly performance was unbearable, the President had roughly this same expression.
Immediately, a clever sycophant shouted:
“Who are you? Running wild in a weekly meeting?”
“Where is security? Get this person out of here!”
Lin Momo was enraged. Her desire to conquer Yu Yihan surged; she wanted Yu Yihan and all her subordinates to kneel and beg for her forgiveness!
The Halo suddenly emitted a light so dazzling it rivaled a spotlight.
Lin Momo looked pitiable, her eyes shimmering:
“Yu Yihan, are you going to make me… leave?”
Yu Yihan felt a wave of dizziness and pain in her head. She felt the invisible barrier protecting her waver, even hearing a cracking sound that the ears couldn’t quite catch.
She thought of Lin Jiu.
From the deepest part of her heart, surging up through layers of primal biological desire, Yu Yihan’s craving for Lin Jiu reached its peak.
Now is not the time to think about this. Yu Yihan gripped the armrests of her chair and bit the tip of her tongue hard.
Using the clarity bought by pain, she tapped her phone a few times. Simultaneously, her sharp gaze swept toward an inconspicuous corner of the conference room:
“Take her under control.”
In the corner, four bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses bowed in unison, their voices booming:
“Yes!”
“Yu Yihan, how dare you!”
Watching the black-clad bodyguards jog over, Lin Momo was practically screaming, backing away rapidly.
The physically imposing bodyguards rushed to Lin Momo. To carry out their boss’s orders, they simply took an arm or a leg each and hoisted Lin Momo into the air.
Lin Momo’s struggling was useless against absolute force. The lead bodyguard looked at President Yu, awaiting the next command.
“Very good,” Yu Yihan nodded and praised calmly.
Yu Yihan was never one to sit and wait for death; she preferred to strike first.
For example, since meeting Lin Momo last night, Yu Yihan immediately realized the weakness in her own protection. She contacted a security firm her family frequently worked with and hired several personal bodyguards.
Even if Lin Momo hadn’t delivered herself to the door, Yu Yihan would have found a safe and suitable opportunity to test Lin Momo—for instance, an occasion where Lin Jiu was present.
Today’s test made Yu Yihan understand that while Lin Momo’s ability was bizarre and powerful, it still had weaknesses.
Weaknesses were good.
She liked the feeling of discovering an opponent’s weakness.
Yu Yihan stood up slowly. Her poor physical state wouldn’t make her show weakness. She propped her hands on the table, her eyes looking down at the completely restrained Lin Momo, revealing her first smile of the day.
The subordinates who knew Yu Yihan’s personality all shivered. Whenever the young boss smiled like that, it meant someone was in big trouble.
“Yu Yihan, you—mmph—”
Lin Momo wanted to scream, but her mouth was covered by an alert bodyguard.
A knock sounded at the door.
Yu Yihan looked toward the door, but the person who entered wasn’t the guest she expected—
It was Xiao Wu from the CEO’s office, and… Lin Jiu.
Lin Jiu had arrived.
Xiao Wu, holding her documents, looked at the scene in the room and was so surprised she almost let out an excited look of a gossip-hunter.
You couldn’t blame her excitement. While delivering the documents, she had first run into Goddess Lin Jiu in the corridor outside the CEO’s office.
Lin Jiu said she was looking for President Yu. When Xiao Wu mentioned that Lin Momo had also gone to the meeting, Goddess Lin Jiu’s expression changed slightly. Xiao Wu immediately imagined a melodramatic “rich sisters fighting over a wife” drama.
Xiao Wu had naturally led Lin Jiu to the conference room. There was no sign of Lin Momo outside.
She had thought Lin Momo had already left or had gone to another empty room to talk with President Yu.
She never expected that as soon as the door opened, she would see the prestigious socialite Lin Momo being carried by several big guys with her mouth covered, looking extremely pathetic.
Holy cow! The socialite who was just acting arrogant upstairs was now being carried like a roast duck in front of dozens of managers and directors. This plot twist was so satisfying it made people want to applaud!
While controlling her lips that desperately wanted to curl up, Xiao Wu glanced at the “Yu-Lin” CP.
She had already noticed it—after these two met, their eyes never left each other. There was definitely something going on.
Lin Jiu didn’t know Xiao Wu was screaming with joy in her head. Her biggest worry was whether Yu Yihan had been persecuted by the “bad woman.”
Fortunately, looking at the current situation, the one being persecuted seemed to be Lin Momo.
Still, Lin Jiu stared at Yu Yihan for a good while. Only after confirming she was truly okay did she let out a soft sigh of relief, then remembered…
Lin Jiu saw dozens of gazes fixed on her and bit her lip sheepishly:
“Sorry, I interrupted your meeting. I’ll leave first.”
“Not at all.”
As soon as Lin Jiu finished speaking, Yu Yihan’s voice rang out. There was almost no gap between them; anyone could sense the difference.
Yu Yihan walked quickly to Lin Jiu, stopping four or five steps away—the most appropriate distance in formal etiquette.
But after only a momentary pause, Yu Yihan took two more steps forward, as if she couldn’t control her desire to be close to the other person.
Xiao Wu told herself not to overthink it, but seeing President Yu’s expression suddenly soften when facing Goddess Lin Jiu, she really couldn’t control herself.
It’s “sugar”! It’s sweet!
Lin Momo, who actually interrupted the meeting, was still being held by bodyguards, while the Goddess here apologized and was immediately overruled by the President who walked over in person. What is this?
THIS! IS! LOVE!
Yu Yihan completely ignored Xiao Wu beside Lin Jiu.
When Lin Jiu appeared, she captured Yu Yihan’s entire mind.
The vomit-inducing smell in the room was also washed away by Lin Jiu’s arrival, replaced by the fresh and sweet scent of tea. Yu Yihan could finally unknot her brow, and her nerves relaxed.
“Wait for me in the office for a bit, okay? I’ll be finished soon,” Yu Yihan asked softly.
Lin Jiu nodded. She indeed had matters to discuss with Yu Yihan. She lifted the black gift bag in her hand:
“Okay, I brought a newly developed product.”
Lin Jiu wanted to leave first. Before going, she glanced at Lin Momo, thinking between “leaving Lin Momo here to annoy Yu Yihan” and “letting Lin Momo be annoyed by herself”:
“Then Lin Momo comes with me…”
A voice came from behind, interrupting Lin Jiu:
“Is Ms. Yu in? Did you call the police?”
?
The police?
A commotion broke out in the conference room.
Lin Jiu turned around. With just one look, the law-abiding and well-behaved citizen Lin Jiu instinctively moved out of the way.
Several police officers in uniform walked up, surveyed the situation in the room, looked at the restrained Lin Momo, and finally focused their gaze on Yu Yihan.
Under the gaze of everyone present, Yu Yihan said calmly:
“Officers, this girl broke into my office without cause. I have grounds to suspect her of stealing my company’s commercial secrets. Please assist in the investigation.”
