- Chapter 29 - That Day I Made a Wish to Heaven for Eternity
Fu Chenyan watched the girl running toward him and couldn’t help but chuckle. He took her hand and teased, “The ice cream really does taste pretty good.”
Li Muli let out a light scoff. Hah, a man’s words are a devil’s deceit.
Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared before her eyes. Li Muli quickly grabbed Fu Chenyan’s hand and hurried to follow.
They saw Huo Ling with his arm around a girl’s waist, the two heading toward a nearby rest area.
“Hurry, keep up!” Li Muli urged the man.
Fu Chenyan followed, and the two sat down at a spot near Huo Ling. Li Muli took out her phone and started recording.
“Ling-ge, where should we go play later?” the girl asked, linking her arm with Huo Ling’s.
Huo Ling pinched the girl’s nose and smiled. “Whatever you say, Jingjing.”
He really was the puppy-dog type, with those cute little fangs when he smiled, it was unbearably charming.
Too bad it was just a playboy’s trick to deceive girls.
“Then let’s go try the remaining rides later.”
“Mm-hmm.”
“And then let’s go watch a movie,” the girl whispered, leaning closer to the man. “I’m kind of missing how amazing you were last night.”
Huo Ling smirked mischievously, reaching out to stroke the girl’s thigh lightly as he flirted, “After the movie, I’ll let Jingjing experience something even more amazing.”
The girl blushed, lightly punching his chest. “Ling-ge, you’re so bad, but I love how bad you are.”
The two continued their playful banter. Li Muli and Fu Chenyan exchanged a look. Was this really something they should be listening to?
“Jingjing, if you keep this up, I won’t want to do any more rides, I’ll just skip straight to the main event.” The girl’s V-neck dress was open, making it easy for Huo Ling to lean in and slowly caress her fair skin.
A soft moan escaped.
Instantly, it drew the attention of those around them, all turning to look in the direction of the sound.
“Jingjing, if you’re rested, let’s go play.” Huo Ling stood up and hurried ahead, clearly trying to avoid drawing more attention.
“Ah, Ling-ge, slow down! Wait for me!” the girl called out coquettishly from behind.
Fu Chenyan frowned, then smiled helplessly at the girl beside him, who wore an expression full of both gossipy curiosity and indignation. “What’s wrong, baby?”
Li Muli rolled her eyes and explained, “He’s a scumbag, and Yiyi still likes him.”
A pang of jealousy struck Fu Chenyan’s heart. That Yiyi held such an important place in her thoughts.
He was the poor, neglected one.
“Oh, and I need the surveillance footage from here too, Mr. Fu,” the girl chattered on.
Fu Chenyan tilted his head with a proud, haughty expression. “No.”
Li Muli: ??
The girl curved her lips into a smile, pressed them firmly against the man’s cheek with a loud kiss, then lifted his chin. “How about now, my little hubby?”
The man proudly offered his other cheek, and Li Muli leaned in to plant another loud kiss.
Then, cupping his face, she gave his lips a firm, smacking kiss.
“How about now, little hubby?”
“Okay.” Even though he was a big shot, he acted like a spoiled husband. She just had to spoil him to death.
Li Muli smiled faintly, lifting his chin once more. “Little hubby, wait for me to marry you.”
“When?” The man took her finger, brought it to his lips, and kissed it gently.
The girl abruptly pulled her hand back, putting on a fierce yet cute expression. “We’ll see how I feel.”
At that moment, the man looked so irresistibly seductive that it seemed he might pounce on her any second, to hear his soft pants by her ear, to watch him stirred with passion for her, to see him lose control because of her.
Sweat slowly trickled down his temple, accompanied by ragged, breathless gasps and a hoarse voice calling out “baby” again and again.
Stop, I can’t let my thoughts wander any further.
A soft chuckle escaped the man’s throat. “Then I’ll wait for my baby to come marry me.”
As long as there was a title, who married whom didn’t matter.
After all, they belonged to each other.
“Let’s go, my delicate husband, time for the Ferris wheel,” Li Muli stood up, casually brushing her hand against the man’s chest as she swiftly changed the subject.
Such a fine physique it’d be a waste not to touch it.
A delicate husband who wouldn’t let her touch him was just being a tease.
Ugh, if this continued, she’d have to pounce on him right then and there.
Sorry, but today was yet another day where Mr. Fu’s handsomeness left her weak in the knees.
The man grasped the girl’s hand, pulling her close as his palm slid to her slender waist, caressing it gently.
He never missed a chance to take advantage.
Seated together in the Ferris wheel, they gazed down at the scenery below. It seemed as if every beautiful sight she’d ever seen in her life was with him.
What mattered was being with him.
Li Muli suddenly recalled a legend she’d once heard: if a couple kisses at the very top of the Ferris wheel, they’ll be together forever.
What young girl hasn’t dreamed of romance?
Imagining that future someone, fantasizing about all the things they’d do together.
Later, all her dreams took shape in one specific person.
When she was young, she thought that if she could be with that special guy someday, she’d definitely want to experience what true romance felt like.
But as time passed, she gradually realized that staying together forever depended more on mutual trust and understanding.
Longevity in a relationship never relied on vows or promises.
Everything only held meaning when love was present.
Still, she couldn’t deny that mysterious things did exist in this world after all, even she had been reborn.
But the luckiest part was that her first crush had finally come true.
While I was striving desperately to catch up to you, you eventually chose to run toward me too.
Noticing Li Muli lost in thought, Fu Chenyan reached out and poked her cheek. “What’s on your mind?”
Li Muli turned her head to look at him and smiled. “I remembered a legend about Ferris wheels. They say if a couple kisses at the highest point, they’ll be together forever.”
Fu Chenyan chuckled but didn’t respond.
He truly didn’t believe in fate he only believed in himself.
Yet, if given the chance, he’d still ask the heavens for their forever.
As the Ferris wheel reached its peak, Fu Chenyan gently turned her face toward him and pressed his lips to hers.
A deep, lingering kiss.
Around them, other couples kissed at that very moment too. Whether the legend held truth or not, the romance at the top was undeniably real.
When the kiss ended, Li Muli giggled. “Mr. Fu doesn’t seem like the type to believe in such legends, huh?”
Fu Chenyan brushed his thumb over her lips, his smile both alluring and teasing. “Indeed, I don’t.”
“I just really wanted to kiss you.”
Li Muli’s smile widened, her eyes crinkling as if everything around them faded into the background.
“Mr. Fu, do you know what I was thinking at that moment?”
“I prayed to the heavens, begging them to let me be with Mr. Fu forever.”
“My Mr. Fu must always be safe, healthy, and happy.”
What a coincidence, so was I.
I don’t believe in gods, nor do I believe in so-called fate.
But even if there’s the slightest possibility, I’m willing to beg for an eternity for us.
That day, I made a wish to the heavens for forever.
My sun must always shine brilliantly, radiant and glorious.
Little Li Muli, we will always be together.
Little Li Xiaoli will always be happy, will always be joyful, will always have her wishes fulfilled.
And she will always be with Fu Chenyan.
