From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 59
Ji Yunuo went downstairs for breakfast, noticing the cold war between Ji Zhiye and Wei Qin, likely stemming from last night’s incident.
It was a strange cold war. Ji Yunuo frowned—what was there to argue about?
“Nuo Nuo, what happened to your neck? Mosquito bites?” Wei Qin suddenly focused on the marks on her fair neck.
Xiao Yanjin was no mosquito. Mosquitoes would bite and leave quickly, but she had lingered there, nibbling, licking, and sucking for a long, long time.
Ji Yunuo covered the hickeys and deflected, “Yeah, I scratched it red.”
Wei Qin, still fuming, didn’t dwell on it. Normally, with her experience, she would’ve recognized them as love bites.
She glared at Ji Zhiye and snapped, “What are you looking at?”
Ji Zhiye pouted, sulking.
Ji Yunuo sipped her porridge. They rarely fought, but in her twenty-plus years with them, their cold wars usually boiled down to Wei Qin going back on a promise to Ji Zhiye, Ji Zhiye coming home late from social drinking, or Wei Qin secretly ogling some young, attractive alpha.
But it never lasted more than a few days.
Suddenly, she remembered—her delicate little alpha hadn’t eaten dinner or breakfast. She must be starving.
After finishing her porridge, Ji Yunuo silently grabbed two fried dough sticks.
Wei Qin spoke abruptly, making Ji Yunuo stiffen mid-step.
Though her temperament took after Ji Zhiye, her cleanliness was inherited from the notoriously fastidious Wei Qin. Even if she didn’t mind eating greasy fried dough in her room, Wei Qin would surely comment if she saw.
But Wei Qin was only talking to Ji Zhiye.
“You drank last night, didn’t you?” Wei Qin never allowed Ji Zhiye to drink.
Ji Zhiye whined, “Just one glass.” Just one glass, and she was denied.
Well, they still did it, but alcohol made Ji Zhiye bolder, and she became relentless.
Wei Qin, older now and health-conscious, wasn’t up for it.
Ji Yunuo exhaled in relief and headed upstairs.
Xiao Yanjin, after breakfast, was still preoccupied with those thoughts.
When will the fourth round happen?
Before she could voice it, Wei Qin came upstairs looking for Ji Yunuo.
Ji Yunuo couldn’t let her see Xiao Yanjin—nor did she want Xiao Yanjin to stay any longer, afraid that if she kept indulging, she’d grow insatiable.
Realizing her sister was about to kick her out, Xiao Yanjin widened her eyes in shock. With no time to spare, she climbed over the balcony railing. Luckily, a crooked tree stood below, and she landed nimbly.
Ji Zhiye was still watching TV in the living room when she heard a noise and peeked outside.
Xiao Yanjin pressed herself against the wall by the entrance, just out of Ji Zhiye’s line of sight.
According to Ji Yunuo, the doghouse area wasn’t covered by surveillance. Ji Zhiye used to keep a dog but gave it to a friend and never got another.
Glancing at the doghouse, Xiao Yanjin thought, Good thing Sister doesn’t like pets.
Huffing, she scurried over and scaled the wall. But the top was lined with sharp spikes. Carefully maneuvering past them, she thought she was home free—until she realized she couldn’t get down!
Staring at the two-meter drop, she gritted her teeth and jumped.
“Ah—!”
Ji Zhiye jolted in alarm and rushed to Ji Yunuo’s room. Seeing mother and daughter unharmed, she frowned. “Are you two okay? Who screamed just now?”
Ji Yunuo was worried about Xiao Yanjin’s safety. “I’ll go outside and check.”
Xiao Yanjin had already left safely. Seeing the message confirming she was unharmed, Ji Yunuo closed the door with relief.
But when she turned around, she saw Ji Zhiye and Wei Qin already together, embracing intimately. A pang of envy suddenly struck her.
That evening, Xiao Yanjin made it home safely, though she nearly twisted her ankle when she jumped down from the wall.
After barely avoiding the watchful eyes of Liang Zhi and Xiao Liangmu, she entered her room and took out a small bottle of medicated oil, gently rubbing it on the sore spot.
The strong medicinal scent stung, and the pain from the injury made her hiss involuntarily.
Then, an inexplicable bitterness welled up in her heart.
She had debuted months ago, but due to the influence of Chu Luo’s family, no one offered her any resources. The few minor opportunities she got were only because her boss, Director Zhang, had fought hard for them. Compared to others, she was nowhere near their level.
She couldn’t even compose her own songs while in the group. Xiao Yanjin bit her lip. As long as the Chu family remained active in the entertainment industry, she would never have her chance to shine. When would she finally break through?
At this thought, she couldn’t help but sniffle. If she didn’t succeed soon, how could the Ji family ever accept her? Her relationship with Ji Yunuo would have to stay hidden, never to be revealed.
—Are you home yet?
Ji Yunuo sent a message.
Xiao Yanjin quickly finished applying the oil and replied.
—I’m home, I’m home!

Ji Yunuo lay in bed, gazing at the empty space beside her, recalling the tender moments she had shared with Xiao Yanjin the night before. Xiao Yanjin was so good at acting spoiled—sometimes clinging to her, nuzzling against her, holding her tightly, and whispering playful words. Yet, despite all that, Ji Yunuo willingly let her touch and kiss her, never getting angry. Her face flushed at the memory.
—I…
—miss you.
Xiao Yanjin’s eyes widened. This was the first time Ji Yunuo had ever said she missed her.
The bitterness from earlier vanished instantly.
—Really?!
—Excited puppy.jpg
Ji Yunuo’s face grew even redder.
—Just this once.
Xiao Yanjin pouted.
—Sis, you’re being tsundere.
—Why say that all of a sudden?
—Do you feel lonely without your little puppy around?
—Not at all!
Ji Yunuo retorted haughtily.
She rarely admitted such things, finding it embarrassing. But what use was embarrassment in front of her girlfriend?
Ji Yunuo thought about it but still didn’t admit it. Xiao Yanjin wasn’t just any girlfriend—she’d probably tease her mercilessly.
They chatted all night, only stopping when dawn began to break.
Sweet dreams soon took over, and Xiao Yanjin no longer felt any bitterness. As she drifted off on her pillow, she realized that what she truly wanted wasn’t fame or fortune. Just like her New Year’s wish, all she desired was to grow old with the person she loved most.
–
Work was about to resume, and the girl group was set to begin producing a new album. Before that, Jiang Nan was the first to arrive at the dorm. Without even unpacking, she headed straight to the Omega dorm to find Lan Yuanning.
It was just past noon, and Lan Yuanning, an early riser, quickly answered the knock at the door.
Seeing Jiang Nan, she broke into a wide smile.
“Jiang Nan, why are you here so early? I thought training wasn’t starting for another week. The Lantern Festival hasn’t even passed yet.”
Since there was still plenty of time before training resumed, people like He Rou and Shi ZhengYi typically only showed up the day before. Of course, the exception was the secret couple Xiao YanJin and Ji YunNuo, who had come out early for a date.
But none of them arrived as early as Jiang Nan.
Jiang Nan’s face flushed slightly. “Ah, I think I got the dates mixed up. It’s just… I thought Lan YuanNing might be lonely all by herself.”
Lan YuanNing chuckled softly, understanding Jiang Nan’s thoughts.
She took her hand and led her inside. “Come in. It’s almost noon—let’s have lunch together.”
Jiang Nan grinned sheepishly. “Okay.”
Whether male or female, alphas all shared certain traits—strong presence and boldness.
Lan YuanNing had met many alphas. Some were smooth-talkers who loved lecturing others just because they were capable, while others were overly domineering, showing no respect for omegas.
Even Xiao YanJin, despite her innocent appearance, had the typical alpha assertiveness.
But Jiang Nan was different. She was the most endearing alpha Lan YuanNing had ever met.
Originally, Lan YuanNing had only made a bowl of noodles for herself. But since Jiang Nan had arrived early, she prepared an extra serving—adding two golden fried eggs and a generous pile of beef slices to Jiang Nan’s bowl.
Alphas had big appetites, after all.
Though Jiang Nan couldn’t cook, she refused to let Lan YuanNing do everything alone. She helped wash vegetables and clean dishes, doing each task carefully.
“How was your New Year’s trip to Yecheng?” Lan YuanNing asked with a smile as they ate.
Jiang Nan answered honestly, “My dad took us to the grasslands, but it was too cold. After a few days, we went to Hainan instead—it was warm, and I even wore short sleeves!”
A hint of envy flickered in Lan YuanNing’s eyes. “Traveling sounds wonderful.”
Jiang Nan paused mid-bite, noodles still in her mouth. “Sister YuanNing… didn’t want me to come back early?”
Lan YuanNing was taken aback. “That’s not what I meant. I just think spending time with family must be the happiest thing.”
Jiang Nan lowered her gaze. She wanted to say that she only had a year and a half left with Lan YuanNing.
“Sister YuanNing,” Jiang Nan mustered her courage, “these next few days… it’s just the two of us. Could you… stay with me? I’m… scared.”
An adult alpha admitting fear to an omega—if Shen Ya or Ji YunNuo heard, they’d never let her live it down.
But Lan YuanNing didn’t laugh. Her heart ached instead. Jiang Nan was an unusually sincere alpha—if she said she was scared, she truly was, like a helpless newborn pup.
“What are you scared of?”
“I’m the only one in the dorm. A-Jin won’t be back until the day after tomorrow… I don’t dare sleep alone.” Jiang Nan’s face burned. Everyone knew she was timid, but her fear of sleeping alone was a secret only she knew.
Most alphas were too proud to admit something they considered shameful to an omega.
“This…” Lan Yuanning hesitated for a moment. “Then you can sleep with me. At least with two people in the same house, we can hear each other’s movements.” If it were Shi Zhengyi or Xiao Yanjin, Lan Yuanning would have considered this harassment, but Jiang Nan was different—she would never do anything to her.
After all, what could this seemingly harmless alpha possibly do?
Jiang Nan suddenly straightened up, her eyes lighting up with joy. “Really… really? You’re not afraid of me? I’m an alpha.”
“Our dorm definitely won’t let you stay. Yunuo is coming back the day after tomorrow, and she’s very particular about alphas touching an Omega’s things.” Lan Yuanning, unaware that Ji Yunuo and Xiao Yanjin were returning together, continued, “I’ll go to your room instead. I can sleep on the sofa.”
Jiang Nan was overjoyed, shaking her head eagerly. “I’ll take the sofa—you can have the room!”
Two days later, after the Lantern Festival ended, Ji Yunuo was finally able to leave.
Originally, they were supposed to arrive tomorrow, but Xiao Yanjin had been so insistent that they had to rush back today.
She had already arranged with Xiao Yanjin to go to the alpha dorm, where she was told the others hadn’t returned yet.
After settling her luggage, Xiao Yanjin sent a message saying she had arrived. Ji Yunuo headed upstairs and found Xiao Yanjin waiting at the door, laden with bags.
Xiao Yanjin grinned. “Jiejie.” She set down her laptop bag and pulled Ji Yunuo into a hug.
It had been a whole week since they’d last seen each other.
“Missed me that much?” Ji Yunuo teased, lightly tapping her nose with an affectionate smile.
“Too much. Seeing you, I almost thought I was hallucinating.” Xiao Yanjin pouted playfully as usual. “Let’s kiss.”
She puckered her lips, and Ji Yunuo chuckled helplessly before giving her a light peck.
Xiao Yanjin wasn’t satisfied. “Again, again.”
Ji Yunuo covered her mouth with a hand. “Stinky alpha, don’t push your luck.”
“Then come to my room?” Xiao Yanjin invited eagerly. “It’s just the two of us anyway.”
Clearly, Xiao Yanjin had something in mind.
Ji Yunuo thought to herself—she had plenty of time to teach her a lesson.
So the two kissed while dragging the luggage inside. The moment the lights flicked on, someone on the sofa rubbed their eyes.
“Ah Jin, you’re back?”
The two instantly sprang apart.
Xiao Yanjin was speechless. “Jiang Nan? Why are you back?”
Jiang Nan: “I wanted to come back early.”
“Then why are you sleeping on the sofa?” Xiao Yanjin grumbled.
“I was scared to sleep alone, so I asked Yuanning-jie to stay. She’s probably still asleep in my room.” Jiang Nan blinked. “Oh, Captain’s here too?”
Ji Yunuo nodded. “I just happened to run into Xiao Yanjin, so I helped her with her luggage.” She found it baffling—how could an alpha like Jiang Nan be afraid of sleeping alone?
Xiao Yanjin asked suspiciously, “You didn’t hear anything at the door earlier, did you?”
Jiang Nan: “I was asleep. Didn’t hear a thing.”
As it turned out, Jiang Nan and Lan Yuanning had indeed been sleeping in the same house, but Jiang Nan was too well-behaved—she had simply let Lan Yuanning take the room and never crossed any boundaries. After lunch, they had played board games, and when they got tired, they napped… only to wake up near evening.
And so, dinner that night was shared among the four of them.
Xiao Yanjin was in a rather foul mood. With Jiang Nan at home, she had no time alone with Ji Yunuo!
Lan Yuanning had made some dumplings the day before, which were perfect for dinner. Xiao Yanjin also ordered some barbecue takeout, and the four of them went up to the rooftop to eat.
Fortunately, there was no wind today, so it wasn’t too cold. From the high rooftop, they could still see the fireworks that were currently lighting up the sky.
“Yuanning-jie, your dumplings are so delicious,” Jiang Nan praised, as she always did whenever Lan Yuanning cooked for her. She practically inhaled the food.
Xiao Yanjin wanted to compliment them too, but with Ji Yunuo beside her, she didn’t dare go overboard.
“So, you two came back together?” Lan Yuanning smiled. “Was this planned?”
Ji Yunuo: “No, I didn’t expect to run into her.”
Xiao Yanjin bit down on a skewer, staying silent.
“Oh!” Lan Yuanning suddenly remembered something. “I left the vinegar downstairs.”
Jiang Nan: “I’ll go with you.”
Once the two had left, Xiao Yanjin and Ji Yunuo finally locked eyes.
Xiao Yanjin curved her lips into a smile. “Jiejie, guess what I was just thinking?”
Ji Yunuo: “I… Mm—”
Before she could answer, Xiao Yanjin fiercely sealed her lips with a kiss.
With two other people around earlier, Xiao Yanjin hadn’t been able to kiss her.
Now, she poured out everything she had been holding back.
The kiss was fervent, deep—so much so that they were both left breathless by the time Xiao Yanjin finally pulled away.
“Jiejie, how was my kiss?” Xiao Yanjin’s voice was tender.
Ji Yunuo had initially wanted to say it was too sudden, but after a moment’s thought, she replied, “So domineering.”
The little puppy was rarely this forceful. Based on that act alone, if Ji Yunuo didn’t find it off-putting, she might have mistaken it for some kind of playful, dominating roleplay.
Even in bed, Xiao Yanjin occasionally displayed such domineering behavior—ignoring Ji Yunuo’s pleas to stop, holding her tightly as if trying to merge into one, carrying her to the bathroom while kissing her relentlessly, then tossing her back onto the bed with rough movements while whispering sweet, teasing words.
But Ji Yunuo never minded. It was just what normal couples did.
The only problem was, whenever asked about it later, Xiao Yanjin would feign ignorance, insisting she wasn’t that rough. Maybe she was pretending, or maybe she truly lost control in the heat of the moment.
But it didn’t matter. Sometimes, Ji Yunuo quite liked it.
The other two returned, with Jiang Nan asking worriedly, “Yuanning-jie, are you okay?”
Xiao Yanjin took a sip of water, glancing at Jiang Nan’s anxious expression and thinking how obvious her little crush was.
“I’m fine.” Earlier, Lan Yuanning had accidentally been hit by a piece of cured meat hanging in the kitchen, which was why Jiang Nan was still fretting.
“Huh? Why are your faces so red?” As soon as they came back up, they noticed the flushed cheeks of the other two.
Xiao Yanjin: “The wind made them red.”
