From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 34
Ji Yunuo turned unexpectedly, feeling a sudden flutter in her heart as she held her hand, even the pungent smell seemed to fade away.
Xiao Yanjin looked at the excitement on her face, wondering if she was hallucinating.
“Um… want to try the snail noodles?”
Ji Yunuo glanced at her. Xiao Yanjin averted her gaze, focusing only on the bubbling broth of the snail noodles.
With a soft “Oh,” she agreed.
Shi Zhengyi and Jiang Nan, however, were stunned. She actually agreed?
How can you stand that awful smell? Your tolerance is way too high.
Ji Yunuo didn’t really want to eat it, but this was Xiao Yanjin inviting her. She wanted to break the ice.
After all, she was the one who had distanced herself from Xiao Yanjin and deliberately said hurtful things. The things Xiao Yanjin had done before weren’t her fault, if anything, the blame lay with Ji Yunuo herself for wanting to pull away but not fully committing. Every time she thought of He Rou chatting so intimately with Xiao Yanjin, her heart twisted uncomfortably.
After days of reflection, she realized that as long as Xiao Yanjin was around, she couldn’t calm down. A suffocating sense of dread enveloped her, and after much deliberation, she came to the conclusion that she couldn’t live without Xiao Yanjin.
Shi Zhengyi and Jiang Nan exchanged glances. Though the snail noodles were almost ready, they had no appetite.
The atmosphere was unbearably tense and stiff, as if an abyss of ice was about to swallow them whole.
Shi Zhengyi finally spoke up, “I’ll go buy some water first.”
“I’ll come with you.”
Now, only the two of them remained, with nothing but the sound of boiling water filling the silence.
“Xiao Yanjin, I…” Ji Yunuo lowered her eyes. “What I said last time was wrong. You…”
“Oh?” Xiao Yanjin looked at her and suddenly laughed. “What could Miss Ji possibly have said wrong? Haven’t you always been perfect?”
Ji Yunuo fell silent.
Pride was ingrained in Ji Yunuo. In the past, even if she regretted pushing Xiao Yanjin away, she would never have taken the initiative to reach out.
Just like when Qu Zhou confessed and his subsequent actions crossed the line despite their past bond, she wouldn’t have comforted him, leaving him to fend for himself in his despair.
But she thought things would be different with Xiao Yanjin.
Yet every time she saw how close He Rou and Xiao Yanjin were, panic surged within her. Maybe it was possessiveness at play, forcing her to act first. Only later did she realize it was jealousy.
Experiencing jealousy for the first time was far from pleasant.
Xiao Yanjin, who had once cared for her the most, was now showering that attention on someone else.
Even when her clothes got stained, Xiao Yanjin never spared her a glance.
All she could do was silently grieve in the bathroom.
At this thought, Ji Yunuo felt a pang of indignation.
“It’s ready.” Xiao Yanjin scooped up some rice noodles and a crispy fried egg into a small bowl, then handed it to Ji Yunuo. “Eat up.”
Ji Yunuo stared at the bowl of red, oily broth and pursed her lips.
Could something that smelled so bad actually taste good?
“It’s really delicious,” Xiao Yanjin encouraged with a smile.
Ji Yunuo gave a small hum and took a cautious bite. The pungency seemed to be overpowered by the fragrant spiciness, it was savory, but a bit too hot for her. Unable to handle the spice, she coughed lightly.
A gentle pat landed on her back. Xiao Yanjin handed her a glass of water. “Oops, I forgot you can’t handle spicy food.”
Ji Yunuo looked up at her, her beautiful eyes glistening with unshed tears from the coughing fit, making her appear pitifully delicate.
See? She still cared.
After locking eyes for a moment, Xiao Yanjin averted her gaze again.
“Ah Jin.” Ji Yunuo called her by this pet name for the first time. “Can we pretend what happened last time never occurred? Let’s go back to how we were before, okay?”
Pfft!
The alpha laughed.
“Miss Ji,” she said, “when I first approached you, you pushed me away. Now that I’ve decided to distance myself from you, completely, it’s clearly you who can’t let go, insisting on coming close and talking to me. And now you’re saying I still like you? Just how arrogant are you to say something like that?” Xiao Yanjin spoke each word deliberately, her expression full of mockery. “I, Xiao Yanjin, am also a proud person. Since nothing will come of this between us, why should I keep getting entangled with you? From the moment we were set up, I was never some desperate fool who needed to fawn over you every day!”
Ji Yunuo lowered her gaze, remaining silent for a long while.
Back then, she had also said, “I was once a young lady of high standing, do you think I have no self-respect?” Now, looking back, she realized she had been wrong.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said those things to you last time.”
Xiao Yanjin shrugged. “It’s fine. I’ve already moved on.”
Moved on? Did that mean she no longer had any feelings for her?
The thought of how Xiao Yanjin used to rely on her and smile at her made Ji Yunuo ache inside. Now, Xiao Yanjin only smiled for others, only treated others with kindness.
She had never pursued anyone before. She didn’t know how to chase someone, nor how to win her back.
Xiao Yanjin’s earlier words had made her reconsider.
She remembered how, whenever her mother was angry, her other parent would coax, comfort, and humor her. Maybe if she did the same, Xiao Yanjin’s heart would soften?
Xiao Yanjin felt an itch inside and glanced sideways at her, checking if she was crying. Only then did she notice that Ji Yunuo was wearing pajamas underneath, having thrown on a knitted cardigan before coming out.
When she bent over, the graceful curve of her slender neck was smooth and elegant, her delicate collarbone peeking through strands of hair. There was even a tiny red mole on her chest, and the expanse of snowy-white skin, Xiao Yanjin’s breath hitched, and she quickly looked away.
There was no denying it, Ji Yunuo’s figure was exquisite.
Damn it, why am I thinking about her body?
Xiao Yanjin shook her head vigorously, but the image remained vivid in her mind.
Back when she had watched Ji Yunuo drinking water, strands of hair had clung to her fair neck, damp with sweat. The smooth lines of her throat had been accentuated as she tilted her head back.
And the way she had tied her shirt into a knot, emphasizing her slender waist…
Shi Zhengyi pulled a bottle of mineral water from the vending machine.
Jiang Nan, standing beside her, let out a burp. “Zhengyi-jie, we’ve already drunk two bottles. Why aren’t we going back? At this rate, we won’t have room for the stinky noodle soup.”
Shi Zhengyi scoffed. “What do you know? All you think about is eating. Why can’t you be as discerning as me and recognize when to act wisely?”
Jiang Nan scratched her head. She was just worried the other two would finish all the noodles.
–
Outside, heavy rain poured down, the wind howling as the temperature in the dormitory dropped sharply.
Xiao Yanjin lay listlessly under the covers. When she opened her eyes and saw that everyone else was gone, she thought about getting up for a drink of water. But then, a frantic pounding came from the door.
Her heart skipped a beat. “Who is it?” she called cautiously.
“Xiao Yanjin, open the door!” The hoarse voice was vaguely familiar, it was Ji Yunuo.
Xiao Yanjin hurriedly opened the door to find Ji Yunuo completely drenched, looking utterly pitiful. Her eyes especially shone like bright lanterns, making one instinctively want to protect that light from fading. Gazing at her with hopeful eyes, Ji Yunuo suddenly embraced Xiao Yanjin and sighed softly, “Yanjin, I’m so tired.”
Xiao Yanjin felt her heart pounding uncontrollably, and before she knew it, she was holding her tenderly, whispering, “Don’t be afraid.”
Ji Yunuo’s tone was calm, but her eyes held a thoughtful glimmer. “May I come in?” she asked cautiously, like a delicate white flower. The moment she lifted her gaze, Xiao Yanjin felt an overwhelming urge to protect her, so she let her in to take a hot shower and change into dry clothes.
Ji Yunuo emerged wearing a white camisole, her smooth long hair cascading down, her profile as exquisite as fine porcelain.
Except it seemed she wasn’t wearing anything below.
Xiao Yanjin hastily averted her gaze, clearing her throat. “Why… why did you come to our dorm?”
Ji Yunuo sat beside her, the scent of roses growing stronger.
Xiao Yanjin sat rigidly, unable to look directly at the beauty beside her.
Instead, Ji Yunuo leaned closer, her intoxicating fragrance making Xiao Yanjin’s cheeks flush. With slender fingers, Ji Yunuo traced Xiao Yanjin’s slightly reddened lips, chuckling softly, “Yanjin, do you really not like me?”
The usually aloof and composed woman’s voice turned coy and alluring, and Xiao Yanjin nearly released her pheromones right then.
“Nuo-jie, stop joking around!” Xiao Yanjin stammered nervously.
Ji Yunuo smiled gently, her eyes like pools of water threatening to drown her.
“Really?” she said with a hint of sorrow. “But I like you so much.”
Xiao Yanjin’s head snapped up.
“You said it yourself, that I wasn’t good enough for you. So why are you so insistent?”
Xiao Yanjin couldn’t finish.
Ji Yunuo suddenly reached out to caress her burning cheek, her eyes brighter than ever, as if devouring her. She then buried herself in Xiao Yanjin’s embrace, laughing recklessly into her ear, her breath warm against her skin. “A-Jin, I really like you. I really, really like you. Can you hold me tight? I don’t want to be apart from you.”
“Nuo-jie!”
The Omega’s voice grew husky.
Xiao Yanjin’s heart ached. She wanted nothing more than to embrace her, to give her all the warmth she had.
It had been so long since she’d held that soft, warm body. The restraints in her heart were on the verge of breaking.
A thrill of pleasure surged through her.
Ji Yunuo trembled incessantly, her skin growing colder from the rain. Xiao Yanjin held her tighter, this poor Omega must desperately need her warmth.
“A-Jin,” Ji Yunuo murmured, “I want to go to your bed. Will you come with me?”
Xiao Yanjin looked at her, feeling the sturdiest lock in her heart shatter.
“Ji Yunuo,” she growled, “you’re playing with fire.”
Ji Yunuo laughed, twirling a strand of hair around her finger, her gaze seductive as she watched Xiao Yanjin grow increasingly heated. Her pheromones spilled out, filling the dorm with the heady scent of roses.
“Don’t you want to play with me too?” she asked.
The question left the usually silver-tongued Xiao Yanjin speechless.
She was right. Xiao Yanjin had been craving Ji Yunuo for a long time.
Ji Yunuo spread her arms, as if guiding her. “Yanjin, don’t be afraid. Do what you want to do.”
Xiao Yanjin moved closer and embraced her deeply, she had longed to hold her like this…
Ji Yunuo kissed her, trailing down to her neck. Then she took Xiao’s hand and guided it to the thin strap of her dress, letting it slip down to reveal exquisitely beautiful shoulders and collarbones.
“Do you like my body?” she whispered.
Xiao Yanjin gasped, unable to speak, only nodding fervently: “Yes!!”
Suddenly, Xiao seized her hand and pressed a fierce kiss to her flushed lips, biting and drinking in her essence. Their teeth clashed as their tongues tangled, the blurred figures making her lose all sense of reality…
If this was a dream, then let it be!
If this was a dream, let it never end!
She loved her desperately, completely!
She wanted to melt into her very being!
Xiao pulled the Omega down, who in turn wrapped her arms around Xiao’s neck, murmuring in her ear, “Ah Jin, I really adore you.”
“I adore you too,” Xiao replied, wishing they could stay entwined for eternity. Nestling against Ji Yunuo, she nipped at her skin.
Ji Yunuo let out a soft moan but gazed at her with tender indulgence. “Call me ‘Sister Nuo,’ won’t you?”
“Sister Nuo, Sister Nuo…” Xiao murmured before capturing her lips again. How could her kisses be so gentle, so sweet? Xiao felt herself drowning in them, how wonderful it would be if this were real.
Wait, reality!
Xiao Yanjin’s eyes flew open as her breathing turned ragged, her chest heaving. She stared at the bed for a long moment before finally coming to her senses.
The dorm room was unchanged, but the person beside her was gone. A pang of disappointment struck her, and she reached down to touch herself.
She was wet!!
“Ah!!”
Shi Zhengyi jolted awake and immediately hurled a pillow at her. “What the hell are you screaming for, you lunatic?!”
Because of last night’s dream, Xiao Yanjin hadn’t eaten all day.
Back in the dorm, she sat trembling, silent as a madwoman. Shi Zhengyi and Jiang Nan gaped at her. Shi finally snapped her jaw shut and sighed, “Did this kid have a nightmare or something?”
Jiang Nan shrugged. “Maybe. I’m heading out.”
Shi Zhengyi followed. “I’ll go with you, let’s grab some grilled sausages.”
Jiang Nan hummed in agreement. “I’ll get Sister Yuanning first.”
Shi Zhengyi raised a brow. “Oho, cozying up to a sweet older sister now? When are you two dating?”
Jiang Nan shook her head. “It’s nothing like that. We haven’t even debuted yet how could we date? Sister Yuanning just likes tiramisu, and since the training camp doesn’t have any, Miss Ji went out to get some while handling other business…”
Xiao Yanjin heard the rain outside, now falling even harder in the short time since she’d woken. The sudden downpour startled her like a frightened bird.
Jiang Nan’s voice drifted in: “But apparently, she can’t be reached. No one knows what’s going on. She’s hungry, so she asked me to go to the convenience store with her.”
The moment she finished speaking, Xiao Yanjin shot to her feet, drawing the others’ startled gazes.
Shi Zhengyi blinked. “What’s wrong with you?”
“Attention: The typhoon has arrived ahead of schedule. Due to the heavy rain today, all trainees must remain inside the building. Do not go outside.” The announcement echoed through every corner of the facility, including the dorm.
Xiao Yanjin tightly gripped Jiang Nan’s collar, looking ready for a fight.
“What did Ji Yunuo go out to do?”
