From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 19
“But we’re AO, we shouldn’t be so intimate! How am I supposed to help you, sis?!” Although she didn’t dislike Ji Yunuo, she wasn’t exactly fond of her either.
She couldn’t just sacrifice her first kiss like that.
“Quick, help.” Ji Yunuo’s face twisted in pain, her pheromones growing thicker.
“You.” Xiao Yanjin felt a pang of discomfort seeing her like this.
After all, she did care about Ji Yunuo.
When she saw her collapse, she was the first to rush forward and catch her.
But she and Ji Yunuo weren’t from the same world. Ji Yunuo couldn’t possibly like her, and she wouldn’t like Ji Yunuo either.
This was so frustrating.
She wondered what it would feel like to kiss a beauty like her just the thought made her a little shy.
“Get me the suppressants!” Ji Yunuo mustered all her strength to shout.
Xiao Yanjin finally realized, Ji Yunuo had been pointing at the cabinet because she wanted her to grab the suppressants.
She had overthought it.
Ji Yunuo weakly took the suppressants and glanced at Xiao Yanjin.
“Go out first. Come back in a bit to check on me.”
Xiao Yanjin gave a small “oh” and left.
After a while, she figured Ji Yunuo must have injected herself by now.
So she walked back in and found Ji Yunuo lying on the bed.
“Nuo-jie, are you okay now?” Xiao Yanjin asked cautiously.
The scent of roses grew even stronger, enveloping Xiao Yanjin as if she had fallen into a pool filled with rose petals.
Layer after layer of petals soothed her nerves.
Xiao Yanjin suppressed the restless stirrings in her heart.
This was the first time an Omega’s pheromones had affected her like this her body’s reaction was unbearably intense.
Could it be she liked Ji Yunuo?
“Hey, are you awake?” Xiao Yanjin shook her head. No, she couldn’t possibly like Ji Yunuo.
The suppressant on the floor seemed to have been used up, yet Ji Yunuo remained unconscious.
“Are you really okay?” Xiao Yanjin didn’t know what an Omega’s heat cycle was supposed to look like, but Ji Yunuo seemed far from normal.
Ji Yunuo’s eyes snapped open. Suddenly, she pulled Xiao Yanjin into a tight embrace and pressed a desperate kiss to her lips.
Xiao Yanjin: “!!!”
Had the suppressant failed?!
Ji Yunuo bit down hard on her lip, breaking the skin and drawing a trickle of blood, which she greedily drank in.
The sharp pain finally snapped Xiao Yanjin out of her daze. She shoved Ji Yunuo away, clutching her mouth as she yelled, “Are you insane?! What the hell was that for?!”
“Because I needed your pheromones,” Ji Yunuo wiped the saliva from her lips.
Xiao Yanjin: “???”
“Didn’t you take the suppressant?”
“It wasn’t strong enough. Only an Alpha’s pheromones can help and an Alpha’s blood carries the highest concentration.” Ji Yunuo replied calmly.
“You!” Xiao Yanjin was speechless. This woman was definitely insane.
If she had known earlier, she wouldn’t have waited outside for so long.
“If you knew your heat was coming, why did you still come to practice today?”
“It was our first day of training, I didn’t want to miss it. Besides, I took suppressants this morning. There’s no way it should’ve hit so soon.” Ji Yunuo also found it strange.
Either way, Xiao Yanjin’s first kiss had been completely stolen by Ji Yunuo.
That forced kiss had left her stunned, she hadn’t even gotten to savor what it felt like to kiss a beauty, and now she was just annoyed.
Maybe she should.
“Are you feeling better now? If not, maybe we should kiss a little longer?”
Ji Yunuo looked at her as if she were an idiot.
“What?” Xiao Yanjin instinctively shielded herself, unnerved by Ji Yunuo’s gaze.
“What I did just now was simply to quickly and effectively deal with my heat cycle. I’d do anything to get what I want,” Ji Yunuo said calmly.
“So if you’re in heat and don’t have suppressants, as long as there’s an alpha around, you’d just let them mark you?” Xiao Yanjin stared at her, their eyes locking in a fiery clash.
Ji Yunuo suddenly smiled. “I would.”
Xiao Yanjin’s heart skipped a beat, an inexplicable irritation rising within her. “I thought the esteemed Miss Ji was above such things, but it seems you’d stoop to anything when in a pinch!”
Ji Yunuo stood up, her complexion noticeably improved thanks to the earlier exchange of pheromones.
She leaned in, face-to-face with Xiao Yanjin, her breath warm and sweet. “What do you want me to do?”
Xiao Yanjin looked up, meeting her slightly alluring gaze, her heart suddenly pounding. Her voice even trembled slightly as she spoke, “I thought you’d stick to your principles, preferring to tough it out rather than rely on some random alpha’s help.”
“And you believed that? Can’t you just treat it like being bitten by a dog?” Ji Yunuo curved her lips into a smile, a hint of teasing in her eyes.
“You’re calling me a dog now.”
Xiao Yanjin gasped, but before she could react, Ji Yunuo said, “Let’s go train.”
In the end, the center position went to Shen Ya.
Xiao Yanjin spent the entire day in a daze. Though she usually slacked off during practice, under Ji Yunuo’s supervision, she suddenly realized dancing wasn’t that hard after all.
That night, as she lay in bed, she couldn’t stop thinking about Ji Yunuo’s sudden kiss.
Her face burned with embarrassment, and she even dreamed about what might have happened next between them in the dorm.
In a secluded corner of the restroom.
“Lately, Miss Ji and Xiao Yanjin have been getting awfully close. This morning, when Miss Ji fainted, Xiao Yanjin was faster than any of us, she carried her out immediately,” Wei Xuanzhi reported to Chu Luo as they smoked together.
Chu Luo took a drag from her cigarette, exhaling a slow stream of smoke.
Frowning, she asked, “Is Yunuo alright now?”
“Not sure where Xiao Yanjin took her the infirmary or somewhere else. They came back together after about two hours.”
Chu Luo’s expression darkened. She crushed her cigarette violently.
“Xiao Yanjin is nothing but a smooth-talking, silver-tongued scoundrel who charms Omegas. Yunuo is noble, composed, and dignified, how could she possibly get along so well with someone like her?”
“Chu Luo, don’t you get it yet? Miss Ji isn’t interested in you,” Wei Xuanzhi said, offering the advice as a fellow company member.
“No interest now doesn’t mean no interest forever. I’ll make her like me,” Chu Luo retorted stubbornly.
“I know Yunuo despises underhanded people. Right now, she’s blinded by Xiao Yanjin’s sweet talk. I’ll make sure she sees the disgusting truth behind that facade!”
Now it was time for the contestants to call their families.
Xiao Yanjin called Xiao Liangmu and Liang Zhi.
“Ah Jin, since when could you hit high notes?! We had no idea!” Liang Zhi exclaimed in surprise.
Just as expected, Xiao Yanjin smirked wryly.
Xiao Yanjin suspected that joining the show was actually meant to rehabilitate the original host’s image. If that was the case, hadn’t she actually managed to gain fans?
“I told you, I’m a genius!”
“You better be careful. That dance instructor Wei Ge is from Li Mei’s company. The way he’s giving you a hard time must be on Li Mei’s orders.”
Xiao Yanjin let out an “Oh,” confirming her suspicions.
“Anyway, you’ve got to give it your all. The future of the Xiao family rests on you now.”
“Yeah, yeah, I got it.”
After handing in her phone, Xiao Yanjin saw Ji Yunuo walking past the doorway.
“Done with your call already?”
“I didn’t make one.” Ji Yunuo figured Wei Qin would just nag and scold her, so she decided not to call at all.
“Then where are you going?”
“Practice.”
Noticing Xiao Yanjin’s hesitant expression, Ji Yunuo asked, “What do you want to say?”
“Is Instructor Wei Ge coming later to check our dance?”
“Yes.”
“If he criticizes me, Sister Nuò, you’ve got to put in a good word for me, okay?”
“I’m not the team leader. There’s no reason for me to defend you. And if Instructor Wei Ge isn’t satisfied, maybe it’s because your dancing isn’t good enough.”
Xiao Yanjin burst out laughing. “If it’s bad, it’s because you taught me! Besides, Instructor Wei Ge seems to have some kind of grudge against me just like during the initial performance. I can’t handle that.”
In recent years, alpha personalities had become more distinct, and the “puppy-dog” type alphas seemed to be more popular with omegas, especially older ones.
Xiao Yanjin flashed a youthful, sunny grin, the kind of carefree charm typical of a playful pup and it instantly imprinted itself in Ji Yunuo’s mind.
Ji Yunuo pressed her lips together, feeling something stir inside her.
After two hours of practice, Wei Ge finally arrived at the dance studio.
“How’s the progress?”
Shen Ya: “We can roughly perform a full segment now.”
“Show me first.”
Once the six of them finished, Wei Ge’s expression turned stern.
“Shen Ya, Ji Yunuo, your execution is flawless. Shen Ya, you’re too soft; put more power into it. The rest of you still have a lot of details to fix, especially Xiao Yanjin.”
Xiao Yanjin raised an eyebrow. Just as expected this guy was still targeting her.
She glanced at Ji Yunuo, who was staring expressionlessly at Wei Ge.
“Your dancing is truly subpar,” Wei Ge declared righteously. “First, there’s no power you look completely lethargic. Second, your movements are stiff and robotic. Third, your expressions are terrible. Look at the others precise and pleasing to watch. Then there’s you, nothing about you is engaging.”
Xiao Yanjin simply said, “Oh.”
She waited for Ji Yunuo to step in and defend her.
But Ji Yunuo stayed silent. Xiao Yanjin froze in disbelief.
