Forcibly Marked by My Fiancé’s Best Friend - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
The slap was crisp and loud, instantly jolting He Yu out of his unrealistic fantasies. He stared at Lian Xu with deep, brooding eyes, his expression full of grievance.
Lian Xu tilted his head and mocked, “Idiot.”
At those words, He Yu lunged forward and gripped Lian Xu’s neck. “You ill-mannered little brat!”
Little brat? That was a fresh description. Lian Xu thought.
Although he was angry—the term was quite harsh—when he thought about it, his behavior was a bit unethical. Using an Alpha’s pheromones and then slapping them immediately after was indeed a bit “animalistic.” Still, Lian Xu couldn’t let it go. He didn’t want to hear He Yu talk to him like that.
What right did he have?
Even if Lian Xu was teasing him on purpose, He Yu shouldn’t be so insulting. Besides, it was He Yu who couldn’t control his own “peacocking.” If he loved making promises to Omegas so much, why did he come looking for Lian Xu?
The more Lian Xu thought about it, the more stifled he felt.
He Yu truly had no heart.
He rolled his eyes at He Yu and grabbed the man’s wrist. His fingertips dug into the skin, his strength increasing unconsciously. Moments later, the sight of a bloody arm entered the Omega’s vision.
Lian Xu snapped back to reality and let go abruptly, turning his face away, not daring to look at the Alpha’s grim expression.
He Yu had no idea what kind of fire had been lit under him this time. It was baffling. Gritting his teeth, he reluctantly picked up the clothes and began dressing Lian Xu, even fastidiously doing up every single button to the very top.
“Can’t you feel the clothes are wet?” Lian Xu said sarcastically. “If you’re done, get lost. Don’t you have training this afternoon? Being late as an instructor… you’re quite the role model for the recruits.”
He emphasized the word recruits pointedly.
But He Yu didn’t catch the underlying bitterness. Since the first time he met Lian Xu, the man had always been sarcastic and moody. When happy, he’d feed you sweets until your throat ached; when angry, the fire came out of nowhere—one second he’d be flirting, the next he’d be slapping you.
He was truly someone to love and hate in equal measure.
Yu felt a sudden urge to rip the clothes he had just put on back off and pin him to the freezing floor. Since the clothes were wet anyway, what did it matter? Besides, didn’t he like being “commando”? He’d probably enjoy it.
Visions of malicious acts flashed through He Yu’s mind as he stared unblinkingly at the Omega’s profile. The blood from his wrist dripped onto Lian Xu’s snowy neck, blooming like plum blossoms.
He raised his wrist, aiming it at Lian Xu’s prominent Adam’s apple. The blood droplets slid down the curve of his throat as it bobbed. Disobedient Omegas needed to be taught a lesson; a white neck looked better with a blood-red brand.
Lian Xu felt the wetness on his throat. It was itchy. He instinctively reached up to wipe it away.
But He Yu pinned him against the wall with his body, trapping both of Lian Xu’s hands between his legs.
“If I don’t go, someone else will lead them. But can you stay conscious without me?” He Yu asked with a smirk. “Or do you just enjoy being naked and releasing that decadent Cedar scent to seduce Alphas who don’t even like you?”
Lian Xu looked back with a trace of disdain. “What makes you think he doesn’t like me?”
“I am his fiancé. We are going to enter the halls of marriage and become life partners. Why do you think Yin Zhuo would accept marrying someone he doesn’t love, let alone becoming their partner?”
He Yu froze.
The Yin Zhuo he knew indeed wouldn’t do such a thing.
Yin Zhuo was a Five-Star General and the Prime Minister; his status on the Imperial Planet went without saying. Aside from the Emperor, no one could force him to do something he didn’t want to do, not even his parents. Every time he saw Yin Zhuo and this Omega acting affectionately, He Yu felt red-eyed with jealousy.
Yet, his intuition told him Yin Zhuo didn’t love his Omega.
As for Lian Xu’s feelings for Yin Zhuo, he couldn’t tell. But every time the Omega seduced him behind his fiancé’s back, He Yu couldn’t control himself, allowing the other to lead him by the nose.
He Yu rubbed Lian Xu’s chin. The feeling was unpleasant.
“You shouldn’t mention your fiancé in front of me, or I’ll really lose it and f*** you to death!”
Lian Xu remained expressionless, not taking the threat seriously. He said nonchalantly, “I’d probably kill you first.”
“You really think I… mmmph!”
Before he could finish, Lian Xu swiftly reached out and covered He Yu’s mouth. Because he moved so quickly, his arm turned red and throbbed, but that was nothing compared to the danger of being caught with another Alpha during his heat.
“If you don’t want to die right now, shut up and hide!”
He Yu didn’t want to hide. He wanted to see if Lian Xu would still act so arrogant after being caught in an affair. Would he cry for mercy, or beg He Yu to speak for him?
But seeing the genuine worry on the Omega’s face, He Yu hesitated.
The door was slowly opened, and a shadow loomed.
Yu let go of Lian Xu and shrank into the corner. Lian Xu shifted slightly, hiding the Alpha behind him completely.
Yin Zhuo pushed the door open just a crack. Seeing the Omega huddled under the quilt with downcast eyes, he silently closed the door again.
The chains rattled. The room was locked once more.
The chains had been removed earlier; the door hadn’t even been locked, just pulled shut. Lian Xu knew Yin Zhuo was just checking to make sure he was still there and hadn’t escaped. As for the mess in the room or whether anyone else was inside, the man hadn’t noticed at all.
Yin Zhuo, however, began to doubt himself as he relocked the door.
He clearly remembered locking it before he left. Why was it open? He Yu wasn’t in his room either—likely already at the training grounds. He wondered if He Yu had discovered the secret of this room.
As he pondered, his communicator flashed. Yin Zhuo answered the call, and a subordinate’s face appeared.
“Prime Minister, your father is waiting for you in your office.”
Father? What was he doing here? Yin Zhuo didn’t have time to think. He quickly dressed and hurried to his office. Since his father had stepped down, he had never returned to the Star Tower. His sudden appearance today meant there was something important to discuss.
As the sounds outside faded, Lian Xu breathed a sigh of relief.
He Yu, however, pulled him back into an embrace with ill intent. “So afraid of being caught… You’re a coward but you still dare to seduce me? Do you like the thrill?”
Lian Xu ignored him, his mind on that phone call. Why would the old man be looking for Yin Zhuo in the office?
He must be very afraid of being overheard.
Seeing Lian Xu distracted, He Yu turned the Omega’s face toward him. “The door is locked; I can’t get out. If the recruits can’t train normally, you’ll be the one held responsible, won’t you?”
Lian Xu: “…”
“You’re the one who insisted on coming in and got yourself locked in. What does that have to do with me? Besides, you just said someone else would take over. Did Instructor He forget his own words? Or were you just playing me?”
Yu narrowed his eyes. “No. I just think this is great. Now I can enjoy my dessert in peace.”
“Get out!” Lian Xu pinched He Yu’s leg without hesitation.
He was incredibly fast. He Yu didn’t react in time and hissed in pain.
He thought to himself: So many little tricks!
“The door is locked, I can’t leave,” He Yu said casually, showing no concern for being late. He looked as pleased as if he’d won a major battle.
Lian Xu guessed what He Yu was thinking but gave him no chance. He shrugged, looking at the Alpha with disdain as if he were looking at trash. “Move aside. Once the door is open, get out immediately!”
He then reached under the quilt and pulled out a thin wire. Under the Alpha’s astonished gaze, he folded the wire and twisted it into a makeshift tool with two prongs.
Lian Xu knelt by the door, inserted the wire into the lock, and turned. The door clicked open from the inside. However, the iron chain was still fastened on the outside, the gap so small even an Alpha’s arm couldn’t fit through.
The Omega, however, used his physical traits to his advantage, sliding his slender arm through the gap. Some Omegas were born small; no matter how much they trained, they couldn’t change those genetics.
Lian Xu was one of those Omegas.
And his uniqueness wasn’t just limited to his size.
Once the chain was undone, Lian Xu urged He Yu to leave.
Yu’s eyes were filled with confusion, as if asking: You can open the door yourself? Then why don’t you leave? Who are you acting pitiful for?
Oh. For his fiancé, Yin Zhuo.
Thinking of this, He Yu’s mood darkened again.
Lian Xu didn’t bother explaining. He didn’t want to get tangled up with an Alpha whose head was currently filled with pheromones and lust.
As they reached the door, He Yu suddenly turned and grabbed Lian Xu’s arm. “Can Yin Zhuo not smell pheromones?”
The scent in the room was so thick it could make an Omega go into heat anywhere or make an Alpha lose control. Not to mention the White Camellia winding around the Cedar, arrogantly asserting dominance.
If Yin Zhuo couldn’t smell it, how could he stay so calm after opening the door?
Unless he had taken a high-potency suppressant.
But even that would only help him keep his logic; it wouldn’t stop him from smelling such a strong White Camellia scent. No one could walk away as if nothing happened when their fiancé’s room was filled with another Alpha’s scent.
Lian Xu looked at He Yu. He hadn’t expected this question. Two people who grew up together, yet he had to learn this from an outsider.
“Do you think everyone has a dog’s nose like you, smelling everything?” Lian Xu said crossly. “He’s the Prime Minister; he has to maintain a baseline of logic. Since I’m in heat, he naturally takes high-potency suppressants. For an Alpha like him, whose sense of smell isn’t that keen to begin with, the side effects are even more pronounced.”
“Did you leave your basic physiology knowledge in the gutter?” After explaining, Lian Xu didn’t miss the chance to mock him.
He Yu was annoyed. He didn’t want to stay any longer and turned to leave.
As he walked, he grumbled: “Ungrateful! I must be f***ing crazy to come all this way to soothe a loose Omega like you!”
Dammit!
He knew the man had a fiancé, that they were affectionate and about to be married, yet he kept falling for the bait.
Lian Xu watched He Yu’s back disappear, then quickly refastened the chain and locked the door, returning everything to the state it was in when Yin Zhuo left. Then, his strength failed him, and he slid down the wall.
His body was special. He needed a massive amount of pheromones to be continuously poured into him until his heat passed.
Otherwise, he would become like he was now—the moment the soothing stopped, he became a beast without logic. He would roll around and destroy everything in the room to replace the pheromones and calm his agitated body.
There was a reason Yin Zhuo locked him up.
But mostly, Yin Zhuo didn’t want Lian Xu to affect him. By the third day of being locked up without pheromones, the Omega’s hormones would be ten times higher than normal. Lian Xu’s gland would burn; he would howl like a beast, tearing at the room. The walls and door were covered in deep gouges from his fingernails.
When the heat ended, Yin Zhuo would let him out. By the light from outside, he would see the wreckage. Since then, Yin Zhuo had cleared the room of anything breakable and installed a stronger door. But the walls couldn’t be replaced; if one looked closely, the scratch marks were everywhere.
He used this as a justification to keep Lian Xu locked away.
In the dark room, the last trace of White Camellia was consumed. Lian Xu rolled on the floor in agony, his fingers bloodied from scratching. He wanted to tear the skin off his own body.
Lian Xu’s throat was too sore to make a sound, his eyes clouded with mist.
He actually wasn’t like this before.
When he first presented as an Omega, he was also in a cold, dark room. His only contact with the world was a tiny window. Every day, he would lean against it, hoping the person on the other side would talk to him so he wouldn’t feel lonely.
One day, he suddenly felt hot and began rolling on the floor in pain. Omega pheromones filled the room.
That was the first time Lian Xu smelled that special fragrance. It was only later that the person across from him told him it was Cedar. Back then, he was only in pain; he didn’t go mad.
But there was an older man who, every time Lian Xu went into heat, would extract pheromones from his gland. He said he was making a suppressant for him, but Lian Xu had to take some medicine before it was ready.
He took it for over a year. Instead of getting better, it got worse. Lian Xu began to lose his logic, going into rages and destroying everything. He would be stopped by the medical team, who used electric shocks to keep him conscious…
Memories of the past flashed by. He couldn’t remember how long this had been going on.
Lian Xu felt exhausted. His body grew hotter. He couldn’t tell if it was the heat or the fever that finally caused him to black out.
