Forced To Take Care Of The Protagonist, She Can't Leave [Transmigration Novel] - Chapter 4
The next morning, before the sun had fully risen, Lu Shi’an woke up early. He walked gently to Ning Yuzhao’s room and pushed the door open to find the boy sleeping soundly. Lu Shi’an approached the bed and shook Yuzhao’s shoulder softly. “Yuzhao, wake up. We are going to the cultivation world.”
Yuzhao rubbed his sleepy eyes, sat up, and looked at Lu Shi’an with a cute smile. “Okay, Brother Lu, I am ready!”
Lu Shi’an smiled and led Yuzhao out of the inn, beginning their journey. On the way, Yuzhao was as excited as a little bird, chattering non-stop. He was full of curiosity about everything and bombarded Lu Shi’an with endless questions.
“Brother Lu, is this the cultivation world? It feels so magical!” Yuzhao gazed around with wide, curious eyes.
“Yes, this is the cultivation world. You will live and cultivate here from now on,” Lu Shi’an replied gently. Yuzhao nodded happily, his eyes sparkling with longing.
Soon, they arrived before the mountain gate of the Xuantian Sect. It towered into the clouds, majestic and awe-inspiring. Yuzhao’s eyes widened in amazement. “Wow, what a spectacular gate!”
Lu Shi’an laughed as he explained, “This is the gate of the Xuantian Sect. Once you pass through, you will be a member of our sect.” Yuzhao clapped his hands in excitement, eager to step inside.
Upon entering, Yuzhao was stunned by the scenery. The sect was shrouded in mist, with cranes dancing through the sky like a fairyland. He looked around, fascinated by everything. The two traveled along a winding mountain path until they reached a magnificent, golden palace. Standing at the entrance was a graceful man, the Sect Master of the Xuantian Sect, the Lingxiao Immortal.
Lu Shi’an led Yuzhao forward and bowed respectfully. “Master, this is Ning Yuzhao, Empress Ye’s child. As you instructed, I went to the mortal realm, and the Empress wished for me to bring Yuzhao to the cultivation world.”
He immediately turned to Yuzhao. “Yuzhao, this is the Sect Master of the Xuantian Sect, the Lingxiao Immortal.”
“Greetings, Immortal,” Yuzhao said, stepping forward to bow respectfully.
The Lingxiao Immortal looked at the boy with a flicker of surprise, then nodded slightly. He produced a spiritual root testing orb and signaled for Yuzhao to place his hand on it. As Yuzhao complied, spiritual energy flowed like a gentle stream into his body. A moment later, the orb erupted with a dazzling white light. The Lingxiao Immortal’s face filled with joy. “This child possesses a Superb Mutated Ice Spirit Root. How rare!”
Lu Shi’an was delighted for Yuzhao. This talent was as rare and precious as his own Superb Mutated Lightning Spirit Root.
“From today on, you are a disciple of the Xuantian Sect. Are you willing to be my personal disciple?”
Yuzhao immediately looked at Lu Shi’an, his eyes filled with anticipation, as if seeking his opinion. Seeing Lu Shi’an nod, Yuzhao’s joy bloomed like fireworks, and he quickly accepted.
The Lingxiao Immortal laughed. “This little fellow is certainly close to you.” He then produced a defensive magical tool as a gift for Yuzhao. “I hope you will cultivate diligently. If you have any questions, you may ask me or your senior brother.”
Yuzhao nodded vigorously and shouted, “Thank you, Master! I will definitely cultivate hard!”
“I never expected that your trip to the mortal realm would bring back such a treasure. If the other old fellows hear of this, they will surely be jumping with envy!” The Lingxiao Immortal sighed, then waved his hand, signaling Lu Shi’an to take Yuzhao and settle him in.
Lu Shi’an nodded and left the hall with Yuzhao. They passed through a forest and arrived at a courtyard. “Yuzhao, this is my residence. You will live here for now, and when you are older, we will arrange a separate place for you,” Lu Shi’an said.
He was worried about leaving the six-year-old alone, so keeping the boy with him allowed for better care. Yuzhao nodded obediently. “This place is so beautiful!” he exclaimed as he ran into the courtyard, full of curiosity. “Thank you, Brother Lu.”
Lu Shi’an gently patted his head. “You are welcome.”
“Yuzhao, you will sleep in this room. Mine is right next door. If you need anything, just call me,” Lu Shi’an directed.
Yuzhao nodded eagerly, but suddenly, a rumbling sound came from his stomach. Seeing the boy shyly cover his belly, Lu Shi’an felt a wave of annoyance at himself for being so busy returning to the sect that he had forgotten to feed the child. Fortunately, the sect had a canteen for disciples who had not yet reached the Foundation Establishment stage. He took Yuzhao there immediately.
Along the way, people greeted them constantly. “Greetings, Senior Brother Lu!” Lu Shi’an responded with a nod to each. At the canteen, he served Yuzhao some food and smiled as the boy ate ravenously.
“Eat slowly, don’t choke,” Lu Shi’an said softly.
Yuzhao mumbled while chewing, “Delicious! Brother Lu, you eat too!”
Lu Shi’an was already in the Golden Core realm and did not need to eat, but seeing the boy so happy, he could not help but try a little. After the meal, he took Yuzhao for a tour to help him familiarize himself with the environment. Yuzhao ran around excitedly, and they eventually reached the side of a lake with crystal clear water reflecting the blue sky.
“Wow, what a beautiful lake!” Yuzhao cheered.
“This is our sect’s Lingxi Lake. It is said that cultivating here helps calm the mind,” Lu Shi’an explained. Thinking Yuzhao had not started cultivating yet, he began to teach him how to sense spiritual energy. Yuzhao immediately sat cross legged, closed his eyes, and began to try.
Watching the boy’s serious expression, Lu Shi’an silently vowed to teach him well and help him become an excellent cultivator. However, he could not help but ponder the original book. In the novel, the original Lu Shi’an had not reached the Golden Core realm at sixteen. Who had gone to the mortal realm to pick up Ning Yuzhao in the original timeline? Had it been the Lingxiao Immortal himself, or had another disciple been sent? And why had Ning Yuzhao not appeared in the book if he had such immense talent? Why was there no mention of such a genius among the characters?
Lu Shi’an’s brow furrowed, his thoughts locked behind an invisible door. The more he wondered, the more doubts filled his heart.
