- Forced into a Secret Marriage with the Villain, We Now Have a Child
- Chapter 47.1 - The Lu Family's Fear
The Lu family resided in City C and was wealthier than most. The older generation had been “nouveau riche,” but the current pillar of the family was Lu Benjin.
Lu Benjin had been cultivated with the family’s entire fortune, raised from childhood to be a young master. At over thirty years old, his life had been smooth sailing: an international high school, study abroad to add “gold leaf” to his resume, and a marriage to a fellow returnee student. He knew that money alone wasn’t enough to enter City C’s elite circles, so he spent years building relationships with old-money families.
He had finally found a foothold—only to have the door slammed shut.
Because his child had caused a “minor” incident at school, he had provoked Yu Siyi.
To the average person, the name “Yu Siyi” belonged to a glamorous movie star, a dedicated artist known for her low profile and high-quality acting. But to a specific circle of elites, she represented something else entirely: power, a coalition of powerful families, and a magnificent commercial empire.
Lu Benjin had heard rumors of Yu Siyi’s influence in City C. Countless people tried to curry favor with her, but she was too busy to be seen. Now, not only had he met her, but she had offered to pay him—a terrifying prospect.
His initial confidence shattered the moment he realized who she was. The money didn’t matter; he had only wanted to protect his wife and son. Now, that money felt like a branding iron. He stared at Yu Siyi’s business card for days, unable to find a way out.
“It’s just one Yu Siyi!” his wife yelled, still feeling aggrieved. “How do you know she’s not faking it? Even if she’s real, so what? That b*tch slapped me! Is she above the law just because she’s a star?”
“Shut up!” Lu Benjin snapped.
Looking at his wife’s face, he realized for the first time how foolish she was—confusing ignorance with bravery. “You’re a woman too, yet all you know how to do is spend money and cause trouble. You didn’t even teach your son properly!”
“What did I do? I gave you a son!” she shrieked. “You’re regretting marrying me now?”
“And what did Yu Siyi say that day?” she continued, her eyes gleaming with malice. “What is she to that b*tch? Relatives? Or is she married to her? Don’t you realize what a massive scandal this is? If the news that Yu Siyi is married with a child gets out, she’s finished—”
SLAP.
A crisp sound echoed as Lu Benjin struck his wife. He had always worn the mask of a refined gentleman, but now he looked like he wanted to strangle her.
“You haven’t taught your son, you caused a scene, and now you want to bring the entire Lu family down with you?” he hissed.
He realized he had become too arrogant lately. He had to make amends. He tried to contact Yu Siyi through connections, eventually reaching the Zhu family. However, Zhu Feifei (Yu Siyi’s friend) was fiercely protective. She didn’t even tell Yu Siyi that Lu Benjin was looking for her. Instead, she simply told him: “Yu Siyi left City C on a flight this morning.”
Lu Benjin felt like his life was half-gone.
The Apology at School
Lu Benjin decided that since he couldn’t reach Yu Siyi, he had to go through Jian Chun.
On Monday morning, Jian Chun arrived at the kindergarten with Niannian. She had been worried Niannian might want to transfer schools after the bullying, but the little girl wanted to stay with her friends and her teacher, Ms. Yuan.
As they approached the gate, they saw Lu Benjin and his son, Lu Tianhao. Lu Benjin looked haggard, a far cry from his arrogant self two days prior.
“Niannian’s Mama,” Ms. Yuan said, stepping in to play peacemaker. “Mr. Lu wants to apologize.”
“I didn’t understand the situation that day. I’m sorry,” Lu Benjin said, bowing deeply to Jian Chun. He didn’t care about the curious stares of the other parents. “I failed to discipline my son. It won’t happen again.”
He then nudged his son. “Lu Tianhao, apologize to your classmate.”
Lu Tianhao, who had been terrified by his father’s threats all morning, began to sob. “I-I’m sorry, Niannian… I won’t bully you anymore.”
Niannian looked at the crying boy and then at her mother. Jian Chun softened. “It’s fine. It was just a misunderstanding between children.”
“I’m withdrawing him from this school today,” Lu Benjin added, looking relieved that Jian Chun wasn’t holding a grudge. When Jian Chun mentioned the medical bill money she had offered, he nearly recoiled in fear. “Please, don’t joke with me. I wouldn’t dream of it.”
As the Lu family scurried away, the surrounding parents began to gossip. Who was this woman who could make the powerful Lu Benjin bow his head?
Back at the High School
Jian Chun returned to her high school. It was a Saturday, and she had grades to process. Most of the students’ grades had slipped, except for a few, including the former “school bully” Jin Ziye.
Jin Ziye had actually passed his physics exam with a decent score. His lackey, Ma Xiaoming, shouted the news to the whole class: “Boss! You’re ranked 43rd!”
Jin Ziye tried to act cool, but he was secretly thrilled. For the first time, being praised for grades felt better than being praised for sports or looks. He decided to use his “authority” to force his fellow slackers to study, threatening to beat them if they didn’t memorize their formulas.
At lunch, Jian Chun ate with her colleague Yi Xueyang.
“You’re actually watching it?” Yi Xueyang teased, opening a drama on her phone. It was Zhuang Yun Lu, starring Yu Siyi.
As the opening credits rolled, Yu Siyi appeared on screen—aloof, celestial, and breathtakingly beautiful.
Jian Chun stared at the screen, her breath hitching. This was the Yu Siyi the world knew. High above the clouds, untouchable.
The Office Secret
In the afternoon, Niannian was brought to the school by the driver, Uncle Liu, because Jian Chun had to stay late. Jian Chun set up a small chair for Niannian at her desk so the girl could do her homework.
The other teachers soon noticed the adorable child.
“Whose child is this? She’s so cute!” Teacher Cheng asked.
“She’s my daughter, Niannian,” Jian Chun said. “Niannian, say hello to the Uncle.”
“Hello, Uncle,” Niannian chirped sweetly.
The office went silent.
“Your… daughter?” Teacher Cheng gasped. “But you’re so young! You must have married before you even graduated university.”
“Yes,” Jian Chun admitted.
The news spread like wildfire through the faculty lounge. The “young, single” teacher Jian Chun was actually a married mother.
