For the One Who Hates Me - Chapter 54
Bang.
The moment the door closed, Karl kissed Aura. Her mouth parted in surprise before she could even react.
“Ugh!”
He truly looked like he was going to devour her. He followed her every step back, his tongue exploring the inside of her mouth. His rough tongue swept past hers, trying to wrap around it. No matter how much she tried to escape, he kept up, relentlessly tormenting her.
Aura hit his arm as if to tell him to stop. But he only held her face tighter, as if he would no longer do as she wished.
Finally, she pushed him away with all her might. “Karl!”
The two of them were panting heavily. In the dim light of dawn, Karl’s eyes were burning brightly. Aura’s skin went cold as she could feel the hatred and desire he had so skillfully hidden outside, now laid bare before her.
“What did you do with him?”
“…”
“Did you… kiss him?”
Aura found the question ridiculous. She wondered if that was all he cared about… yet, a strange stubbornness welled up inside her.
“Yes…!”
As soon as she answered, Karl grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her again. Aura immediately clamped her lips shut. Karl then relentlessly bit her lower lip, as if he knew she was particularly sensitive to that.
“Ugh…”
In the end, his tongue slipped in between her parted lips. He explored her mouth deeper than ever before. He only let go of her when she was completely out of breath.
Aura, feeling dizzy, grabbed the edge of a console table but held up a hand when Karl tried to approach her. She felt like he was going to kiss her again, to the point of suffocation.
“Karl! You’ve done enough. Stop.”
He took a deep breath. He ran his tongue over his lips once and said, “He bothers me.”
“Is it because I have a lover that you’re so-“
“No. That bastard bothers me.”
“What?”
“His gentle eyes, his handsome face, his kind gaze, his calm way of speaking. I find all of it bothersome.”
“Why?”
“Because you like those things.”
There was no hint of him teasing her. He was being serious.
“…Why do you think that?”
“Because you hate a man like me.”
“Hahaha…”
She laughed without realizing it. She thought of the time when she had loved Karl so much. And how even now, she couldn’t bring herself to fully hate him.
Karl said, “Can you deny it? The moment I walked into the party, you were the only one I saw. I’ve never seen you smile like that before.”
She pushed Karl away and went to the window. She poured wine into a glass and drank it in gulps. The taste of Karl’s tongue was washed away with the wine.
Karl came and stood in front of her. “Just stop this. Stop tormenting me.”
Aura felt a surge of anger. Hadn’t he also tormented her with his lies?
“How can you say that? You’re the one who said you would take Elise as a consort-“
“Ah, yes. Elise.” Karl ran a hand through his hair in frustration. “I’ve thought a lot about it.”
“About what?”
“You said Elise has what you’ve lost? That you could tell just by the way she smiles?”
Aura’s heart sank. Her own feelings of inferiority that she had revealed just a few days ago. Karl was bringing them up now.
“I don’t understand, Aura.”
“!”
“Even if you don’t smile at me… there’s really no comparison.”
Aura suddenly remembered the moment a few days ago. Karl had appeared in front of her while she was sleeping in the garden. He had looked at her with the face of a man facing an unsolvable problem and told her.
‘Smile, Aura.’
‘…Huh?’*
‘Just smile for me once.’
Karl said, “To me, you are truly incomparable to anyone else. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Aura avoided his gaze. His words sank heavily into her heart. They felt his deepest feelings.
“So if your goal is to torment me… I lost. So just stop.”
“…”
“Answer me, Aura. Or is that bastard really that special?” Karl’s voice was a low growl.
Aura finally met his eyes. He looked like he would find Ruan and kill him on the spot if he could.
But Aura couldn’t back down here. Even if Karl got hurt, and even if it came back to hurt her.
It had already begun.
Aura placed her wine glass down. Clink. A chillingly clear sound echoed in the room.
“Yes. You’re right. I wanted to torment you. Because you wouldn’t give me Emile as my knight.”
I have to make him think this was all my doing. That way, Ruan won’t be questioned.
“So I went to Emile first… and we became close. He’s a good person, Emile is.”
Karl frowned. Aura barely managed to steady her trembling voice and said, “He’s warm and kind. I want to keep him by my side.”
Karl’s eyes darkened menacingly. A long silence hung in the air. Aura clenched her fists and endured the moment.
“…Sleep with me, Aura.”
“What?”
“I wasn’t lying about moving our night of communion up. Sleep with me.”
Karl quickly unbuttoned his tuxedo shirt. He then took off the shirt and threw it on the floor.
“Why… why are you doing this?”
“Because it’s the only thing I can do with you right now.”
His hands wrapped around Aura’s waist. Aura froze at the touch of his hot hands slowly moving up her back. Click. His nails touched a button on her dress.
She should have said no. She should have told him to stop.
But Aura just looked at him. His genuine words that had sunk into her heart. His submissive posture that admitted defeat. His desperation to hold on to her with his body. Those things ultimately made her weak.
I can’t refuse him.
An unfamiliar sense of pity bloomed in her heart. Aura reached out her hands and cupped his face. She then took his lips into hers. As she licked his lips softly, as if to console him, Karl’s hands started to move again.
The buttons on her dress came undone, one by one, from the bottom up.
Tuk.
Finally, the last button came undone, and the loose dress was about to fall. Aura quickly pulled her lips away and grabbed her dress to cover herself.
Karl’s gaze swept over her exposed neck, shoulders, and chest. He then picked up Aura and laid her down on the bed.
Aura suddenly felt curious.
“…How did you recognize me? At the ball.”
Karl smirked at her bitterly. “You think I wouldn’t be able to recognize you because of a little thing like this?” He grabbed the loose dress and, as if shedding her skin, he pulled it off in one motion.
“Hmph!”
Aura, feeling humiliated, covered her face. Karl removed her hands and stared at her.
“…”
He just stared at her.
What is he thinking?
His gaze slowly moved over Aura’s naked body. He then placed his hands on her collarbones and gently massaged them.
“What are you doing…”
Karl silently moved his hands down. His hands moved over every curve of her full breasts. Then he wrapped his hands around her slightly exposed ribs.
Tuk, tuk.
His fingers pressed on each of her ribs as they moved down.
“Ah…”
The gentle pressure and his insistent touch made Aura shake her head. The most difficult thing to bear was his touch.
Wherever his hands had passed, a lingering heat remained. As if to let her know that her collarbones, breasts, and ribs were there.
She could feel his hands all over her body. This was too much. Too many things were being left on her body.
“Stop, stop it…!”
Aura finally tried to push his hands away. But his hands stubbornly reached her hips. His hand went between her thighs and touched her.
Karl supported her neck with one hand and kissed her.
“Ah…!”
Aura let out a moan. It felt as if he was marking every part of her body, just as he had done with her ribs. Aura felt a wave of heat wash over her. It came from every single part of her body that Karl had touched.
He had been silent all this time, but he now whispered, “Can I ask you one childish question?”
“Ugh…”
Aura instinctively made a sound. It was unclear whether it was a moan of consent or a cry of pain.
“Did you… really kiss that bastard?”
“Ah… no.”
Aura shook her head. It was hard to bear the burning sensation all over her body. It was so intense it felt frightening, as if her body was changing in some way.
Karl’s expression softened slightly, and he took his hands off her body. He then wrapped her hands, which had been gripping the sheet, around his neck.
“Shh…” Karl touched the corner of Aura’s eye as if to tell her it was alright. He sat up and took her legs, spreading them apart. Aura looked up at him with dazed eyes.
Karl entered her.
“Haa…”
Aura let out a deep breath. A familiar feeling enveloped her entire body. Karl began to move. As her mind went blank, Aura met Karl’s eyes.
Their locked gazes, the proximity of their breaths, the pleasure that spread through her body. All of it mixed together to create a sweetness that was hard to deny. How could the discomfort in her heart and the ecstasy of her body coexist? She would have preferred to be in pain; it would have felt better.
Karl drove into her harder.
“Ah!”
Aura squeezed his arms and writhed. With his relentless thrusts, all thoughts vanished from her mind. Perhaps that was what Karl had wanted. He would have thought that Emile was in her mind.
Throughout their long lovemaking, he was particularly insistent on kissing and touching her body. Her lips, her neck, her breasts, her lower body. As if he was determined to become one with her.
With the sensations exploding all over her body, Aura found herself calling out his name.
“K-Karl…! Karl… ah!”
After it was all over, Karl held her tightly from behind. He still seemed to be thirsty, as he kept kissing the back of her neck.
“Haa… haa…”
Aura’s body trembled as she let out intermittent breaths. The lingering sensation of profound pleasure lingered in her body.
Karl gathered her hands together in his. The beating of his heart against her back and the warmth of his hands holding hers gradually calmed her trembling.
