Five Years of Studying Medicine, Three Years of Flirting With Guys - Chapter 16
Chapter 16
Tang Linsheng sat on the edge of the bed, his face resting against the ladder connecting the upper and lower bunks. He wanted to steal a laugh but felt he needed to learn some self-restraint. However… listening to the sound of the shower in the bathroom next to him, he couldn’t help but feel his thoughts drifting. The first time they met, the Senior had also just come out from a shower.
That handsome face shrouded in mist!
Those sexy abs!
That beautiful V-line!
Tang Linsheng touched his somewhat burning face and let out a light cough. Stop it! The more he thought, the lower his thoughts went! He collapsed onto the bed, staring blankly at the wooden boards above, wondering what he should chat about with the Senior later. He needed to salvage his image, then sublimate it, and make a deeper impression on the Senior. Maybe a “heartbeat moment” could happen in an instant?!
“Xiao Tang, going to shower?”
The Senior’s voice suddenly came from behind him. Tang Linsheng was startled and scrambled to sit up. But as he sat, he didn’t notice the space above thud his head slammed into the bed rail of the upper bunk.
Tang Linsheng (the senior) didn’t expect him to hit the rail so suddenly. Seeing him grinning and grimacing in pain, he felt both amused and concerned for the boy’s head. He walked over, cupped Tang Linsheng’s head in his hands, moved aside the hand that was rubbing the spot haphazardly, and checked the impact site. “It’s fine, no swelling. The hardness of your frontal bone is actually quite good.”
He joked, but his hands began to massage Tang Linsheng’s head with practiced technique.
Tang Linsheng, whose eyes had been squeezed shut from pain, now couldn’t open them at all out of sheer shyness. He could clearly feel the warmth of the Senior’s hands; that gentle tone was like a feather brushing past his ear, making him feel an itch he didn’t dare to scratch. He could only let it itch on its own, not realizing that the itch was slowly creeping into his heart.
Tang Linsheng (the senior) massaged him for a bit. Seeing that he was no longer crying out in pain, he was about to lean down and ask how he felt when he noticed the tips of Tang Linsheng’s ears were completely flushed red, appearing translucent and rosy under the bright lights of the locker room. Although Tang Linsheng’s expression looked serious, the corners of his mouth were disobedient, curling upward uncontrollably.
The smile at the corner of Tang Linsheng’s (the senior) mouth deepened. He asked softly, “Does it still hurt?”
Tang Linsheng seemed to snap out of it. He suddenly jerked his head to the side, blinked his eyes twice, and stammered as if the language center of his brain had been damaged: “No… I… I’m going to shower!”
He grabbed his clothes from the side and rushed into the bathroom.
The sensation of soft, fluffy hair under Tang Linsheng’s (the senior) hand suddenly vanished. Watching Tang Linsheng’s movements, he suddenly thought of a kitten running away with a dried fish in its mouth.
“…My, my head doesn’t hurt anymore!”
A fluffy head suddenly poked out from the bathroom door, said those words to Tang Linsheng (the senior) with a flushed face, and then ducked back inside instantly.
Tang Linsheng (the senior) chuckled softly, his fingertips sliding against each other as if he could still feel the soft texture from under his palm.
Tang Linsheng turned on the shower head. Warm water poured down over his head. The heat caused his blood vessels to dilate, and his skin was faintly stained red. Thinking about the stupid thing he had just done, Tang Linsheng wished he could stay in the bathroom forever.
However, the bathroom wasn’t large, and staying inside for too long made breathing a bit difficult. Tang Linsheng ran his fingers through his hair in frustration, completely unaware that he was walking out with a head of messy, disheveled hair.
While blow-drying his hair, he quietly observed Tang Linsheng (the senior) through the gaps in his hair. The Senior was half-reclining on the bed, leisurely flipping through a book entirely in English.
The whirring of the hairdryer stopped. Tang Linsheng put it away and walked over slowly, sitting down on his own bed behind Tang Linsheng’s (the senior).
“Sleeping?” Tang Linsheng (the senior) closed the book and turned with a smile. “Lights off?”
Tang Linsheng nodded: “Thank you.” He pulled back the covers and “calmly” slid into bed, pulling the duvet up with a big tug until it covered his entire head.
Tang Linsheng (the senior) glanced over and saw that the boy had completely burrowed inside, leaving only a tiny tuft of stray hair poking out from the top. His heart felt as though it had been lightly tapped by something; a strange sensation flickered by. Tang Linsheng (the senior) subconsciously chose not to overthink it, turned off the light, and lay back down.
Tang Linsheng quietly poked his head out and asked in a whisper, “Professor Tang, are you tired today?”
Tang Linsheng (the senior) replied in a low voice in the dark, “The activity intensity was higher than before.”
While Tang Linsheng was agonizing over how to reply, he heard the Senior say, “Compared to being abroad, the number of patients is several times higher.”
“Then why did you want to come back?” Tang Linsheng shifted his body and asked, “I feel like the benefits in America are much better than here, right?”
After saying this, Tang Linsheng thought he heard the Senior let out a light sigh, but maybe he didn’t. The other’s voice remained steady and gentle: “I came back to do one thing.”
“What thing?” As soon as Tang Linsheng asked, he felt he was infringing on the man’s privacy and quickly added: “Professor Tang, you don’t have to say it, it’s fine!”
Hearing his anxious voice, Tang Linsheng (the senior) gave a light chuckle and said, “It’s not anything particularly private. It’s just something that has been in my heart for a long time, something I’ve been quite persistent about.”
Tang Linsheng said, “You will definitely be able to do it well!” The Senior was the most amazing Senior!
Tang Linsheng (the senior) seemed to have received his encouragement, and his tone became lighthearted: “Thank you. Go to sleep, it’s quite late. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.” After saying this, Tang Linsheng didn’t dare move much. He was afraid his rustling sounds would be too loud. What if he woke the Senior up? Although it was late, he was in high spirits and didn’t feel sleepy at all.
Just the thought of his bed being right next to the Senior’s made his palms and the soles of his feet heat up with excitement.
Tang Linsheng’s thoughts wandered wildly. In the quiet duty room, he could already hear the steady and rhythmic breathing of Tang Linsheng (the senior). Perhaps due to over-excitement, he had forgotten to use the restroom before bed and hadn’t fallen asleep immediately. Tang Linsheng stealthily lifted the covers to go to the bathroom.
After finishing and coming back in the dark, he was about to lie back down when he saw Tang Linsheng (the senior) sleeping properly on the side. He paused in his tracks and crept over to crouch down in front of the Senior’s bed. Perhaps because his eyes had adapted to the darkness, Tang Linsheng felt that the Senior looked truly beautiful at night. Although his road to chasing the Senior was still long and difficult, being able to interact with him like this already made him very happy.
Tang Linsheng’s heart felt warm. His eyes darted around, and he quietly reached out a finger to touch his own lips, then carefully reached out to poke the Senior’s cheek.
The moment he touched it, it was like being electrocuted; he pulled his hand back instantly. Tang Linsheng hurried back to his own bed and pulled up the covers to sleep, feeling completely satisfied.
Indirect kiss achievement unlocked. Perfect!
In the dark of the night, Tang Linsheng (the senior) slowly opened his eyes. He touched the cheek that had just been poked, a trace of a smile flashing in the depths of his eyes.
